The office was really clean, front desk receptionists were both very friendly and helpful. Dr. Vargas was very patient and understanding, made me feel comfortable and welcomed. He listened to everything I had to say and explained everything in a way I could definitely understand. I left feeling hopeful and grateful that I had set an appointment here. They also scheduled me almost right away even as a new patient! Very satisfied and will be returning soon.

Exceptional!! The atmosphere in this place was very nice. The waiting room was very spacious and clean. The staff made the experience very pleasant and comfortable. Doctor Vargas is a amazing physician and not to forget both his nurse practitioners Sherina and Ciara are beyond amazing at what they do. He is fortunate to have such an upbeat and top notch staff and professionals working for him. I hope they are recognized for their talents! I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone seeking professional providers with a peaceful atmosphere. I have been a patient here for about 8 months and my life has changed drastically.

I was feeling anxious for my first appointment, lol is a thing I usually get on my first appointment. But once I arrived to the clinic the atmosphere was very pleasant, I felt welcomed by the young lady at the front desk. I can't find the words to express my experience with Dr. Ciara Jackson. She's such an incredible person. This such an incredible place. I would give 10 stars if I could. :)

So I have bin coming to Benjamin's for about 3 years now. They opened up their new place and its very lovely. Very clean and professional environment. The Young girls at the front are very sweet and always help out. When I need any medication refill they are always there to assist when I call. By email or phone. I have seen Dr. Vargas. And 2 other doctors. Every single one of them are very kind and you can tell are professional and experienced. When my mother had very bad depression Dr. Vargas also helped her. She is now happy and well. I suffered from anxiety and I to feel great now. They do what they can to not only help with just medication but also to try different methods such as vitamins that can help with stress Yes is you are late or miss an appointment they will charge somewhere from 100 to 150. But its understanding if your not going to show up when someone else who needs help could have shown up instead. And they even have a sign that tells you not to be late or miss. A consultation with no insurance is always 150. The first one might be 300. If you don't have that kind of many for your health you may want to to somewhere else. But if you want great quality help than this is great for you.

In the space of about eight months, I was scheduled with four or five different providers. Even after I expressed concern about the lack of consistency in care, it still kept happening. I had to repeat the details of my case history almost every time I came in, which wasted a lot of time in the sessions. When I mentioned my concerns again, they blamed it on ME, saying it was up to me to speak up about my concerns (which in fact I already had done). Surely with mental health care in particular, consistency in provider care is a basic and essential component of best practices? Also, I very often had to wait 20 or 30 minutes for my appointment, yet if patients are 15 minutes late, they count it as a no-show and charge you extra. That hypocracy also dented my trust with this clinic. One final comment: one of the providers, a nurse practitioner, seemed to me to have little background in mental health care. She spent nearly the entire time each session talking about nutrition and health care supplements, asking me very little about how I was doing. I cannot recommend this clinic. The only reason I kept going was that my insurance had a realtionship with them.

Appointments are 20 min long and if you are late, cancel with less than 48 hrs notice or if you don’t have your payment readily available you will get assessed a $100 fee. Benjamin’s approach to ADHD is remove 1st class medications and place your kid on amino acids. Stay away from this practice !!

Worst Dr. Everrrrrr! Received some bogus $5800 lab bill for some urine test they made me take. BEWARE. It all seems like a scam to me. and apparently to lots of other people who have had to deal with this as well! They are in Cahoots with the lab who is under investigation. And i will make sure that they get investigated as well, friggin Crooks!

My son has been seeing Dr. Vargas for about 2 years now. My husband and I are very satisfied with Dr. Vargas/Staff. We once had a billing issue and after I reached out to the billing dept. the issue was resolved immediately. Communication is very open, when ever I need an emergency refill, the staff is able to have Dr. Vargas refill the prescription asap (as long as we have been in recently for required visits). Dr. Vargas is an extremely educated and gives great information-advice. He really listens to my son. The ONLY issue I have is the new location.....I do not like it however, I will continue to take my son to Dr. Vargas since he is amazing at what he does.

They are unable to understand the issues about a person with ADHD, they release my son from treatment and just because they want money. They move the appointment for themselves and call us. But the machine keep sending us text messages with the wrong time. So we arrive on time, but for then “was late” and the leave this child 2 hours waiting for then! So we just leave the office and because they close the window for lunch, so I realize we are going to wait 1 hour more! Because that he only abandoned my child! So they are cruel. If you love your kid and friends keep them far from that place. It’s all about money and not about care!

I made and appt seeking help. I received an email the day prior to my at 5:30 stating my appt had to be cancelled. I missed a day of work in hopes of getting help and they cancelled my appointment and I had to miss work for nothing!

Mrs. Jackson-Veal is an absolute superstar. She is the best nurse practicioner I have ever had for depression and anxiety. She is so understanding and caring, and I always leave that office with a sense of hope that I didn’t have going in. She has the absolute biggest heart and is everything we could ask for in this kind of doctor. The office itself and the rest of the staff probably earns 3 starts, but Mrs. Jackson-Veal makes it a 5 star rating! If it weren’t for her I would not be at this office.

The personal accounts of how the office staff is never available and the billing for labs is true. The replies from the office administration are nothing but excuses. I can already tell you the editorial copy and paste response I will get from this review. Carefully monitor what is shown on these posts because they are being documented, as well as being investigated.

These people or more specifically "Dr" Vargas let me get off my meds more or less cold turkey. The nonsense started when the Asian nurse practitioner left and I was not notified and I came in for my appointment only to find out I was shuffled to another NP who was a lovely person; I believe her name was Mrs Jackson. Long story short, I was eventually shuffled to Vargas because I was not able to be managed by that NP. Fast forward a couple of visits and I find this man to be unbearable and I am under the impression that they will not let me go back to seeing the nurse practitioner so I decide to leave. I do not believe I was given enough time to taper of the cocktail of medication I was on and I found myself in the hospital for a suicide attempt, surprise surprise

In the beginning, I was not sure because when I first did the testing for drugs, they sent to another third party lab and I got in a bill that was so expensive, made me question, but the staff worked with me and everything was good!

This establishment has such bad reviews, I had a feeling that they had upset someone (or two) people that were filtering things through their current lives or maybe just complete bat ish crazy people and that there was no way it was “just THAT bad.” I mean it IS behavioral health. Well, all things considered... possibly not carefully considered because I’m ADHD... haha! I decided to try them out. It was JUST THAT BAD! Isn’t it lovely when someone sees you one week ago, but can not remember one single detail!? I’m easily remembered... I’m also very kind. Kind enough to do as prompted and email vereses calling in if I had any issues, they said would get to requests much faster that way . I emailed a very detailed and important message. I got a reply saying it was going to the correct source. I was patiently waiting. And waiting.. 2 days later and I called them.. I was assured my email was on the doctors desk. 5 days later!! On the 5th day I called and sat on hold in the middle of their confusion. Wow! Imagine someone that is more crazy than me waiting 5 days! Good grief.. then I walked out... after hearing from a NP a bunch of “protocol” you need to take these “new” psych meds before we can put you on what what already working there is so much on the market now or you can pay for “genetic testing” to see which antidepressant should work best for me....(I’m not depressed and I never told them I was sad except for in the email about the medicine they put me on and I wanted off of... I’m a HAPPY person..overly much so.. til they put me on that kinda stuff ) nonsense because they obviously need MORE of my money for my DNA to spend more money on report that says I need the new super expensive drugs that they push on anyone with insurance ..... did I mention I’m not depressed? I’m ADHD with GAD. It doesn’t make me sad. This NP, knowing it’s not a good fit for me by my experience said it didn’t matter, it was PROTOCOL. A decision made by a doctor I NEVER MET. I never saw a doctor!? Maybe 2 visits ...or 1 and 10 mins of another isn’t enough time to see the miracles they could work for me, but it was enough time to know their entire system is jacked up, right down to me wanting a zero balance receipt and agreement they would not use my card info (that they make you keep on file and sign to agree to charge it if you fail to show up or cancel less than 2 days early.) I waited 30 mins and had to go to the bank to fill out paperwork so they can’t make charges on my card instead, because they were purposely taking forever I’m sure. At that point I was just another bad review to them. All this stupidity, and I went here for help getting MY life together ....????!! I have my ish togethhhher compared to this place! I am more stressed from my experience here than I was before I ever went. I shouldn’t have to follow up on them, I’m the patient!! Do not trust your mental health in the hands of this place... We live in Houston Texas where 2nd opinions are everywhere!

I have only experienced outstanding service! To start at the top, I had been a patient of the previous doctor and was experiencing a decline of already mediocre service. Upon my first appointment with Dr. Carlos B. Vargas, I left exhilarated. I had a delightful and insightful session. The following sessions have never deviated from the first for over 3 years. The staff are very cordial, diligent, and courteous. This is definitely my one and only choice and recommendation to all!

I don't know if this is Carlos vargas office but if it is I want to say thank you because after he told me I was misdiagnosed a year and 8 months later my life has completely changed and I'm doing good. This is the negative review I left on Dr Carlos Guerra's page I was under his care and doing very bad... But I still don't understand how he couldn't tell the medicine was making me angry and depressed and wonder if maybe that's why he sold his office but regardless life goes on and I hope God blesses Carlos Vargas and his office in every single way possible...I'm having a little boy!! Baby Tom!!! Dr Guerra... Thank God he is out of office.And someone else took over!!! Because I was blessed... A year and 8 months later I'm Now living a normal life again.At age 24 But lost ten years in return. My family a high school diploma and good chances at two different colleges as well... But after being told by four different doctors that I was misdiagnosed I have gained a wife a new car my own apartment.. A new job as a forklift loader stacking bricks on semis... And a second Chance at a technical college for an associates of applied science.. after being homeless for almost a whole year to gain back what my wife gave up for me... And a great outlook on life in return... I'm only on straterra for Adhd and I'm doing great!! :) God is good. We are all blessed In different ways. Mine just came later in life...

Amazing providers as well as support staff. Dr. Vargas's approach to care is not just "throwing a pill at you" but actually taking the time to understand the dynamics of an individual's situation and determining the true cause of this issue. He also promotes overall well being that includes diet and exercise modifications. I was greeted with a smile with the front desk staff. The wait for the provider was about 10-15 minutes but that is expected at most doctor's offices. That further supported the theory that he takes his time when treating his patients. If you want good quality care and not just medications alone, I suggest scheduling appointment with this practice

Well at first Dr Vargas was helpful with trying to find a treatment plan for me to come off the medication. A year later I'm still on the benzodiazepine I've been trying to get off of. I recently had an appointment with him on 9/13/16. To my surprise he hadn't shown up to the office and I'd be seeing his NP Ciara Jackson. She informed me that I'd be seeing her from now on instead of Dr Vargas because apparently he was only seeing patients with extreme issues. So not only did Ciara Jackson not listen to a word I said, but wrong information was relayed to Dr Vargas causing a prescription to not get filled and I endured withdrawals due to this. Jair Escobar, "office supervisor" more like glorified secretary, decided to be rude and argue with me and claim he knows everything about every patients medical charts. So this morning on 9/19/16 I receive a letter of patient terminaton with no reason as to why and will be speaking with a lawyer. If they would have had the decency to call me and talk to me about the issue, it would have made me feel as if they actually cared about my well being. DO NOT waste your time or money here.

This office staff is excellent. When I call or email their response is prompt, courteous, and professional. The front desk receptionist Miriam is warm and welcoming. The prescription refill process people Mr Martinez and Mr Oregon have Incorporated using email to streamline things. And Sara in billing. I'm in the service industry so I believe I know what good service is and these people are great at it. Most importantly the medical team here provides exceptional care. It's taken me over two years to find a great doctor here in Houston and I've finally found Dr Vargas. Thanks y'all for your professional care and service.

I have been going to BBHS since 2005. Dr. Guerra was a pretty good Dr. The stories about getting large bills for work performed by testing laboratories that turn out to be "out of network" are accurate (at least that is what the office staff says if you ask them about it). I can also attest to the fact that they are either unwilling or unable to assist you in resolving these issues. I have heard all of the excuses, and I am done listening. I would recommend not opening yourself up to the potential of having this happen to you. It certainly feels like a scam. I wasn't given a choice in terms of which laboratory to use for what I perceive to be unnecessary tests, that was chosen for me. It just so happens the laboratory that they chose for me now wants an additional $400.00 and turned me over to collections within days of sending me a bill 6 months after services were rendered.

Dr, Vargas is a great doctor. I have been with him since he took over for Dr. Guerra. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to be helped for any kind of mental. He doesn't just hand out pills, He lets you know what vitamins are good for you and for a psychiatrist who usually just sends you off with prescriptions, he actually wants to know what is going on with you and actually has great Advise!

I've been a patient here for several years. This place has literally saved my life. The staff is incredibly nice (Miriam is awesome!) and they're quick to respond to requests for appointments (regular and emergency--I've made both), prescription refills, and general questions. I see Ciara Jackson and absolutely adore her! It can be incredibly difficult to find good mental health care pratitioners/doctors/therapists and I feel like I've hit the jackpot with her. I'd follow her to the end of the earth.

I received a bill for over $5500 for a urine test from United Toxicology, an out of network lab that turns out to be a scam and is currently being sued by United Healthcare. I called this clinic and they were able to clear the bill quickly which is really suspicious as if they are in in cahoots. STAY AWAY! Internet research shows that this scam is the latest mutation. I do not like crooks!

I honestly would stay as far away from this place as possible, Ever since they bought this practice from Dr. Guerra it has gone down hill. They raise prices every couple of months it seems. And they send you a lab bill for $6000 (sure it was reduced to $300) for these so called random drug tests. Then they double book patients and take the first one that comes in. NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL and i wouldn't recommend them to my enemy! I wouldn't have even given them 1 star if 0 was an option. BEWARE
