Wasn't the best nor the worst, the unit was chaotic at times but the STAFF made sure to handle it appropriately and timely. Made it to a level 1 which was not a common or easy task but all of the STAFF were kind and did their best to make everyone feel as normal as they could.

I was here when I was a teenager. I was abused at Austin State Hospital. Charles Fischer a child psychiatrist who used to work here was convicted of child molestation and fired. Most of the kids here are from single parents. Some of them are here for self mutilation. Most teens outgrow self mutilation there's studies on this. Austin State Hospital is state funded. Medicaid pays for 70 % of antipsychotics. These drugs have high noncompliance rates. Another tax waste.

What do people want from a state hospital the staff did the best job possible on a state budget. My only suggestion is to when talking to the judge stay calm and lie a lot you will get out when you want.
