Dr. Nyquist is very caring. He does a great job of explaining what is wrong on your level. I would definitely recommend him.

Google User

Dr Nyquist always takes the time to listen and explain all concerns and questions I may have and to be sure that I am comfortable and assured before leaving an appointment. He has always been interested in my well-being. Great doctor. I recommend him highly.

Christine Plunkett

Dr. Nyquist is a true gem. He is most personable, listens intently, and shoots from the hip - and straight talk is important to me. I highly recommend his personal services as well as his practice overall.

Tina Lillig

They helped me get through s very difficult time and drugs was not the first choice. I feel they listened and treated me as an individual

The goal here is to make you a functional, happy, contributing member of society. After my thyroid removal surgery my hormones were every where. Dr. Nyquist explained how I wasn't broken but that body was functioning as designed. I love the fact that they don't dope you up so you feel like a Zombie but teach you coping techniques. I am living a more fulfilled life thanks to Dr. Nyquist and his amazing staff.

The office is near impossible to communicate with. They don't use to email other than to send stern emails about showing up on time for appointments and being able to charge if you miss an appointment. But yet, you cannot reply to that same email to cancel your appointment, you must call and sit on hold for long periods of time to talk to someone. Why? Because that is their "policy". They only answer the phones from 9am to 11:59am break for an hour for lunch, then come back and answer calls between 1-4pm. My last appointment, they incorrectly filled a prescription. My pharmacy said they would handle it directly. Dr. Nyquist's office staff was unresponsive, with no explanation other than it is "not their policy to respond to faxes". I was without medication for over a week because of this negligence. I can't imagine if this was a life threatening emergency. If you like to sit on hold and get nasty emails about "office policy" every time you have an appointment, this is the office for you! If this sounds terrible, go somewhere else.

I really like going to see Dr Nyquist due to his professionalism and thorough knowledge pertaining to my condition. However, if you need your medicine and your appointment has been moved on their calendar due to him being out of the office, call immediately to get your meds refilled because since they moved you, you may have a very difficult time getting hold of someone to refill them when you have none left. Just FYI.

Had a great visit. Dr Nyquist is very thorough and knowledgable. I felt like he really cared about me as a person, not just another patient. Thank you!

Katie Shafer

Dr. Nyquist is wonderful. We spoke in depth, and he offered me meaningful advice and instruction. I was pleased!

Michelle Dunn

I highly recommend going Dr. Nyquist. The staff and nurses are very knowledgeable and understanding.

Andra Hammond

Dr. Nyquist is a wonderful doctor. Easy to talk to and really listens. I have never really been heard by a doctor in the way that he heard me. He treats his patients with respect. My only regret is not seeing him sooner.

Jane Love

I have been seeing Dr. Nyquist for a few years now and I love him. Every visit is cordial and he truly understands anxiety disorder and PTSD. Unlike with my PCP, I have NEVER been made to feel bad for needing anxiety medication. I highly recommend him.

Not sure where I want to start on this Dr. I was referred to Dr. Nyquist by my PCP. After several attempts to just get an appointment, The 50 pages of a total nightmare paperwork began. I have never filled out so much paperwork in my entire life, however I did it! On my first appointment which cost me out of pocket $150, he seemed decent. Typical psych Dr. My second visit ($70)was a complete nightmare: You do not treat people the way he treated me. I have never been so shocked and disappointed in a Dr in my life. I want others to know he will tell you one story 1st visit and on your next visit he totally changes his story and worse attitude I have ever endured. Pitiful service and will never go back! Time to retire DR. Front desk and nurses lacking too much to type as well. Extremely disappointed..................

Dr. Nyquist is an amazing doctor! He listens and can explain everything you're going through in scientific or layman's terms. So helpful.

Brandon Denney

Great experience. Dr. Nyquist was informative, understanding, and had a great sense of humor. I felt very comfortable in his office. According to some other Google reviews, some individuals have evidently experienced poor customer service. Your mileage may vary, but the staff at Cool Springs Psychiatric was very polite and friendly to me. Would highly recommend.

Karen Reeves

Dr nyquist could care less about you. My mom died and I made an appt which cancelled out my appt the following week. They didnt cancel it tho I told my therapist this one takes its place. They didnt call to confirm and when I didnt show they billed me. I told them to stop billing me. They kept on. I called and told them to stop or I wont be back. They said ok we honor that. What a jerk. They should of been apologizing to me. Then I was left trying to find someone else. They dont care.

If i was leaving a review based on Dr. Nyquist alone - it would be five stars. He is wonderful. However, his staff is something to be desired. Rude and judgemental and spiteful. I rescheduled three appointments becuase I had meds left over because I couldn't take them when I came down sick for a month. So, I saw no reason to go and get any new written Rx when I had plenty left. The office manager was very hateful, disrespectful and EXTREMELY judgemental to me and decided to terminate my treatment because "it looks suspicious on paper". Really? for not taking enough meds and doing fine. Whatever. She is pretty hateful and spiteful. almost like she got pleasure and a thrill off of it. So, now, I am left scrambling to find another psychiatrist to take over the treatment and guess what? Ones who are in network on my insurance are very limited. In a city like this! there were only like four in network. Two I wouldn't go to because they had bad reviews and the other two got excellent reviews and are not taking new patients. So, I am left without a doctor. How about that? Glad they CARE! I honestly cannot recommend this facility due to the staff and office manager!!!!!!

Very thorough, highly recommend!

This psychiatrist just perscribes medicine and is not concerned about much else. He gives out three slips for three months for you to hold on to for three months while you fill your meds every 30 days. If you some how lose this paper...even without filling it, his office will lie to you and tell you that its a federal law that they cannot write another slip for your perscription. Now my signigficant other is without their meds for the next two months. So first of all, why is a psychiatrist handing out slips in 2018? Especially if something happens to the paper, even without the meds filled, your just out of luck? Well first of all, this is just an office rule. They are short and non compliant. I suggest you go to another psychiatrist that 1. You can communicate with 2. Able to provide a secure and efficient method to obtaining your medication. 3. Treats customers with respect. You wont find that here.

Dr. Nyquist (the couple of times you may get to see him) is pretty good. His team of psychologists are also pretty competent, particularly Ann who's amazing. She was the one I saw for almost 10 years. His office staff, however, are horrendous. I've had incidents of appointments not being placed, despite having the card as proof, but not finding out until sign in. They're difficult to work with over the phone and in person and their customer service is actually customer obstacles. I went 8 years without asking for anything over the top or out of the way, but I sympathize for you the moment you do. It's easier to feel more like an inconvenience than a patient based on how they treat you. Again, the educated ones are competent and great, but the office staff hinders their practice significantly.

Terrible experience. NPs do not listen and they act like they do not want to do their job - like it is an inconvenience for them. They will kick patients out with no notice and for no reason. Do NOT recommend. Plenty of other great Psychiatrists in the area!

Tracy Shinault

After years of loyalty and never asking for them to go above and beyond their scopes of services, I finally was in a place where I definitely needed their help, but I was shot down by all members of their staff except for a nice person name Chasity. I have been a patient there since 2012, and they all treated me as if I was a drug seeking patient, yet I had NEVER called them for anything until July 17, 2018. I will never step foot back in their office due to the neglect and malpractice of care I received there today. I will be reporting Nyquist to any Board I can possibly think of due to his unwillingness to care for a patient that was desperately crying out for his help.

Excellent experience with Dr. Nyquist.

I would not even rate with a star if that was possible.
