I met Dr Foster in the hospital & she was amazing. She quickly realized what my previous Dr of 2 years was doing wrong. So naturally I wanted to switch to her. Come the day for my first appointment (which was supposed to be immediately after my IOP) and the IOP staff wasn't ready for me to start as we had planned. So I left, forgetting that I had the appointment scheduled. I remembered the appointment 2 hours beforehand, but since it's an hour away (& I'd already drove out there & back) I called to see if I could reschedule. Nobody answered so I left a message explaining the situation & asking if I could reschedule. Nobody ever returned my call & the next day the IOP staff had to tell me that Foster has refused me as a client now. I had my first appointment with Delaney that day. So when I went to check in for her the receptionist asked if I'd been told about Foster & when I said yes her response was, "Yeah, sorry, I didn't check my messages until the end of the day." Mind you I left this message at 1230. So I spoke to Delaney about how I was being refused because the receptionist just couldn't be bothered & now I'm being punished for it. Delaney said she'd speak to Foster because it's not like I just didn't show, but no promises. 3 days & nobody told me if she'd changed her mind. I figure not, but I stop in to ask the receptionist just in case. She said no change & then started saying that my message said I just wasn't going to show up & a bunch of other stuff I didn't say. I told her that's not what I said & reminded that if someone had returned my call & said this was going to happen then I would have just risked a speeding ticket to get there or whatever needed to be done. I reminded the receptionist of the time I called & that she told me the next day that she didn't even check the messages until the end of the day. She said, "well almost the end of the day." As if that matters? All of this being done without me even being informed or having a list of policies & she couldn't even own up & tell me herself. Now I'm left without a Dr & meds without a refill all because of a lazy, dishonest receptionist. I have nothing against Foster as clearly it's her staff that is incompetent, dishonest, and uncaring. Delaney seems like a good Dr because she didn't have to offer to try to help, but she still did. I don't have a problem with the policy even (as long as it's told up front in a timely manner), but that receptionist should be fired. Patients shouldn't be punished & have their health put at risk because of the unethical actions/inaction of the front desk.
