I grew close with some of the staff there. Let alone the place is not safe. My first day there i was in the intake room with my parents and the hand held radio was on the charger next to us; when you first get there you can't understand what is being said on the radios and have to adapt to the words. While doing my intake you could hear screaming and panic on the radio. Turns out, before going in to my unit, school and the unit was shut down for the day because the unit i was placed on (Monarch 1) had jumped a girl on Monarch 2 unit. Then later that night, there was a girl who took the broom stick and busted the lights out above our heads. She then started to cut her self with the glass from the broken light and put our unit on lock down. I was there from April 3rd, 2017 to May 13th, 2017. I also experienced a girl locking herself in the bathroom and breaking the glass cover on the toilet and began cutting herself really bad. They locked us all in our classroom which were in a trailer until they could get the situation under control which took what seemed like forever. There was blood all over the bathroom floor and this is honestly the only thing I've ever been scared of. The place counselors were not helpful. They had attitudes of their way or no way. The staff hated their jobs and would vent on a regular bases of how poor the facility was managed. I can admit some of the staff are really great people and they did want to help the girls there, but the counselors had all the control and it was a very bad situation. I would not recommend this for your child or any one you know. This place is a living nightmare and a terrible placed for troubled teens to be. Plus the bathrooms have mold on them, showers are nasty, we didn't have the right cleaning supplies. And when you had visitation, you had no privacy what so ever. If you were on suicide watch or runaway, you couldn't be outside with your parents. If you have young siblings, they cannot come to see you on visitation days. Also, the program was a 6 months to a year long but there were girls in there that had been there for a year and a half + some. Again, this place is terrible and gives me the goosebumps talking about it. if you want to have your child stay somewhere where the only safe place was in the back of the rooms with your back against the wall... then this is it. This place is terrible and i highly recommend NOT sending your child there. Terrible facility! My name is Jordan and i don't care who knows what happen here on my behave. This place is terrible and i wasn't able to explain everything that i experienced within 8 weeks! This place was a torture for some staff and the residents. It feels like the Therapist had no control over their personal lives so they made ours miserable!

This place is a joke they care nothing about helping the residents or the families. It's all about the money with these people. They work with the state to have children taken from their parents, and turn children against their family with lies. "You're family doesn't want you to come home so you have to go to a group home" staff intentionally aggravates the kids and steals their belongings. Not to mention and they won't disclose this a 14 yr old child was almost beat to death by an 18 yr old while in their custody, and the sexual assaults that are never reported to the families or authorities. Do not ever give this place a second thought it will be the worst thing you could do to your child.

I was at this place for 353 days and the staff did not care at all but there was like 1 or 2 that did and the food was nasty we ate the same thing over and over again everyday. And they have bugs. They put you on med's even if you don't need them. They don't care about you and there was fights everyday. So if you are going to send your kid here reconsider about that.

I would give a 0. I was a patient here and I only lasted three days. The drugged my applesauce Becuase I was crying. I need a break from class and a staff member told me “if I don’t go back to class, she will drag me by the hair on top of my head.” Save your kids. They treated them like animals

I was actually a resident 3 years ago. I know first hand how terrible the place is. First off, the amount of lice that the girls had were ridiculous. The staff were dead beats that didn't care about ANY of the residents. There was a janitor that worked there, who molested a resident. (It was consensual but she was only 17 and he was over 50). It was filthy, and the company is a liar in general. The food was unsanitary, and we basically ate the same thing every day. The whole time I was there, I saw a therapist twice. That place is a joke, and I still have nightmares at 20 years old about it. Please don't put your child in this place. If you think your child needs help, find somewhere besides Hermatige Hall.

My son was released a little more than a month ago and is right back on the same path he was on. No better what so ever. This is after an 8 month stay in the facility. They may help some people but they failed my son. First sign he was making progress they sent him home.

Mrs. Allen Cooper

If I could give a 0 I would. Staff is inappropriate with the residents and makes sexual advances that is not appropriate and I will be contacting higher authority and DCS

Hermitage hall is not a place for children, this place is disgusting, theres mold everywhere, bathrooms are NASTY, counselors are trash dont care for the residents, there was a resident when i was there that hung herself in the bathroom and it took them 5 minutes to find out she was missing after i reported to them she was. this place is terrible ....DONT SEND YOUR CHILDREN

I would honestly give this place a zero if I could. I was a resident there about 3 years ago. It was miserable, the day that I got there they were calling over the radio talking about kids jumping the fence and the whole facility was filled with screams. I went there to get help with anger issues, sexual abuse and Trauma. While I was there I was stalked by a male resident he would write letters to me and would convince staff to give them to me he would getting a physical fights if someone looked at me and it honestly made me scared to leave my unit. I was a resident in Monarch one and there was no staff control, staff would try to incentivize other residents to fight residents that they didn't like. I would staff hit residents and tell residents to kill themselves and there was a lot of favoritism like staff would come and bring full-blown meals to Residence they light and would let them get away with more. There's a level system there that goes by High School grad names and when I leveled up to I can't remember if it was a sophomore or a junior you're supposed to have privileges of going out twice a month to different outings. I was at this level for the last eight months of my stay there and I went on one outing the entire time I was thereand I got what home visit for a day and one visit for two hours off campus with My adoptive family. Staff what touches you inappropriately and when we would tell the counselors they will just play it off as our PTSD acting up and that were overreacting. The bathrooms were covered in mold and your first week there you have supervised showers and the staff will keep the door open a good couple feet to where the girls that are sitting in the hallway waiting could see into the bathroom and there was no curtain. At one point the AC was broke and our unit for Solid 3 weeks. They would also let the girls and the guys and interact with each other knowing that one of the other units is filled with guys that have backeounds of committingsexual assault (which the staff would tell us in great detail) and they would have us talking to them and being way too close to them and it was very uncomfortable. There were no countermeasures to stop resident relationships from happening. And at the school they only taught us at an elementary school level so I got credits for classes I never studied for and ended up being a second teacher to all the other residents and the classroom. My therapy sessions for about over one third of the way through my stay there we're short because I am finished my treatment about 5 to 6 months and and I remain there for 10 or 11 months. I wouldn't recommend sending your child here to get treatment there are many other facilities that work way better when I left this facility it didn't take me long to go back to my old habits and in the future I ended up going to a different treatment facility, and it works very well for me and I've gotten the help that I need. But I wouldn't send your child here regardless of how bad they are acting. My last day there I was packing up all of my things and the male resident that was stalking me tried to jump the fence as I was moving my stuff into my parents car and was yelling at me and was trying to get me to go back inside and there were no countermeasures done by the staff. the staff also have a lot of inappropriate relationships with the residents.

This place has some rude ugly nasty fake phony staff. The nursing director vita Richmond has a book full of excuses after excuses not willing to resolve issues. Doesn't keep her word and so many lies she can tell in 24 hours then turn it around on you to make you look to other staff it was your fault behind closed doors. Telling them youyouwas was in the wrong. You have to record and be watchful of these people. They Don't fully do there jobs in a professional matter. I still have not heard from the head boss Mr. Mcfearson the head coordinator about serval issues and complaints on on certain matters since February. April 2nd now. They tell you what they want expecting you to except what goes. I thought wrong about this place. It was like what I was seeing in the beginning which is usual. It was good but now I've had a change of mind and the experience was awful trying to work & be respectful toward the people not getting the same interim return. On my first visitation I was kicked out put outside in the snow freezing ice cold outside dropped off from a 4 hour drive because I had my phone out and took a picture. This lady cut up and got out of Character very hostile and did things that wasn't called for & very unnecessary and was demanding. She watched me like a hawk the entire time and not the others which others had there devices out one lady across from playing with her device & she takes anger out on me. I think it was personal the reason why her actions took control. STAFF & YOUNG WOMAN followed me watching me for no reason just to watch me freeze outside in the cold air and snow picking trying to provoke me to anger. My second visit was an issue and almost left by error made up at front desk because of the incorrect information that was given to me that had me highly upset that someone failed to notify me about something that happened from a week ago they did not notify me that I should not come out to Nashville Tennessee on Saturday to see my love one at the scheduled date and time that was schedule. I asked to speak to a supervisor which was the previous one from last incident when I was kicked out of Hermitage Hall he over looked me as if I wasn't a human being and laughed at me from what happened last visit which was insulting to me. He did not want to deal with me why I don't know I kept my intelligence never was disrespectful or got out of Character but stayed calm having the understanding she was wrong and just do right and let go let God. Everything was okay the entire time. The lady was very unprofessional when I have her the name of the person I was here to visit and recognize This person as not by her full or first name by light skinned girl which was not the person I was here to see. Ridiculous unbelievable This place need to do better & need praying for. They need more training than what they have. The love of people have waxed cold in this place.

My daughter was admitted for being raped and abused from a crime related incident. Upon visiting her at Hermitage Hall I noticed that a staff member was acting like he and my daughter was in a relationship. I noticed when she was released after ten months of treatment .she had accumulated lingerie and clothes that a 14 year old shouldn't wear.all the staff had wrote in her journal their private phone numbers and Face book pages for her to contact them???? After departure. Whatever was happening in Hermitage Hall wasn't helping her it made things worse.I was catching my daughter in the acts of masturbation and after two days of release she ran away and was having consensual sex with older men.The staff member Ricky hearns somehow was fired for whatever reason unknown. My daughter had his cell phone number and Facebook page.I believe is that Hermitage Hall has counselors who misuse their job practices to harm children sexually.Fire people and brainwash troubled adolescents and sweep it under the rug to avoid lawsuits.

I wouldn't send my dogs to that place.

I was at Hermitage Hall for 10 months. While i was there i saw some very disturbing things with my own eyes. How they treat us is not okay whatsoever. There are male staff there who are having sexual relationships with some of the female residents. The place is FILTHY! There are cockroaches and more. I have seen multiple cockroaches in the kitchen! On one of the units when it rains it leaks through the ceiling, so they made my roomates and i move our mattresses out into the dayroom to sleep for a good 4 days. They do not provide the right supervision for the residents there. Oh and the therapists oh lord let me tell you, the therapist do not give any advice. I remember i was crying one day and the therapist rolled her eyes and turned the other way, then took me back to school. Also i remember it was me and 3 other residents and we were outside sitting on the roof for 2 hours before any staff or anyone seen us or noticed we were missing. Let me remind you that staff are supposed to do their checks every 15 minutes. That doesn't happen. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, there is mold everywhere. Also one resident found ants in her corn on the cob one day. We also had a school but we don't do anything in school. We sit there and watch movies or color. Now there are some good things about this place but not very many. The only actual therapy we did grt was Rec therapy every Mon. Wed. Sat. And Sun. We also got to go to the gym on the weekends. And for the unit i was on(Genesis) we got groups every Mon. and Wed. Overall this place is ridiculously filthy and corrupt. If you have a choice i would not recommend sending your child there.

I just left in July 2019 I thought it was horrible I got into a fight every week. My name is Dominick Burkhart. I ran away with three girls. I was getting harrased by staff and got threatened to get jumped by 3 teens.it is not a good place to send kids I'm telling u take my advice before it comes to late and your kids have to suffer like me

A D4587

Yeah they do help people out with treatment but some staffs are just mean as hell.

This place literally helps children that no one else can. These are children that are so behaviorally impaired, and that have been beaten and abused so badly, they had to learn to survive. So when they come here they are some pretty severe cases. However they do start to behave better after some time. They are kept safe. They do get therapy, and treatment, and are cared for daily. They go to school. They learn discipline. No, its not easy, nor is it always pretty. But these people that do the work that no one else can, deserve amazing credit. The Therapists and direct care staff and nurses work hard everyday to care for these children that no one else could help. This place works miracles.

Anna-Marie

Am a former resident at this hell whole. A female. This is NOT A helping faculty! It is supposed to help the sexually assaulted, instead they make everything sexual. Let us watch sexual movies and listen to R rated songs. Would hold open the doors to the bathroom so other residents could see them shower, barge in while we were in the bathroom and say they wanna watch, "to make sure", would fight the residents, tell them to kill themselves, throw them around, let the residents fight and destroy other residents properties, once I even woke up with my pants around my feet. The food is not food. School food is better. Had favorites. Only had very few positive experiences the 6 months I was there. But 5 years later I still have trust issues. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN.
