I recently was admitted there for a week. I have severe IBS and stomach ulcers and the entire time I was there, I asked for any type of stomach medicine they had, they refused to give me any. The doctor, Dr. Hyde was not professional at all, she fell asleep every time she talked to me. The refused to let me shower without somebody in the room, which the CEO said wasn’t normal. If you are looking for help, do not go here.

I had someone I knew kill themselves after leaving here when they weren't even admitted for depression! Calls get blocked from coming in if nobody feels like answering from the facility. The phones privelages are taken away for everyone when just one person misuses the phone. Yes that's right, a phone privelage, it's a phone they can just unplug from the wall and refuse to give to patients. Forced injections are never okay, for any reason, especially when you didnt want to be there in the first place. Imagine being taken against your will somewhere and being forced to take medications that have terrible side effects and if you refuse to take them you are held down and given shots and kept in a room until you "calm down". If you want to talk to someone if you feel sad, they have nobody for you to talk to. Nobody at all, in a behavioral health facility. So not only are the patients that are in there treated like lab rats when they didnt consent to any of it, but when they want to call home or talk to a counselor, most of the time they cant, because either the phone is unplugged or because they have no counselors. This is a terribly inhumane place to send anyone against their will, and anyone who believes forcing someone to come here will help them is sadly mistaken, some of us learned the hard way when our loved ones explained how humiliated they felt, how powerless they feel and how many night terrors woke them up before eventually they gave up because it was too much for them to handle.

I personally wasn't there but my guy friend was there. I called three rivers and told them my friend wasn't ready to leave. If they release my friend that he would be right back in the same cycle...drink, hospital, recovery..repeat..yet they let him leave the next day. How is that doing their job of helping people?

i do not recommend this place at all. i was here in August 2018 for about 4 days. the second night i was there, they tied me up to some type of bed in a small room and left me there for an hour. this did not help me calm down and made it worse. they also had ridiculously strict policies. if my behavior was bad and got one warning they would not let me go to lunch and instead isolated me in my room and made me eat away from everyone else. that is NOT okay whatsoever. the food was really cold and did not taste good. i was not being fed well or taken care of whatsoever mentally and physically. on the day i was dischared, some african- american man that worked there touched me physically for some reason I can't remember. I was not being violent towards him at all but he suddenly grabbed me and hurt my chest. this just shows how they do not have much patience and will do whatever (physical touching) to make you behave, which is NOT okay! especially since it was my last day and i was trying not to cause any trouble. He had no reason to touch me like that! The only good thing is that they will most likely put you on short term stay and let you talk with a good doctor ( NOT from there ) and plan your discharge. But this place is generally really bad and will make you feel worse about your mental health. They really don't do anything to help you whatsoever but make you suffer mentally and could possibly affect you physically when they touch you.

If I could give zero stars I would, this facility is known for mistreating patients and not giving patients the medical care they need. Very disappointed with this, I hope at least somebody will see this and make the decision to go elsewhere. They are currently being investigated.

Kim Gaebel

This place needs to be shut down. They do NOT help anyone. I've known 2 people to go into this place and recieve care that was not warranted. Medications were given that were completely inappropriate for the person. Then when they were released, they killed themselves. It's shameful that this place is still operating

If you are reading these because you want to know that your loved one is safe. Please listen to me. This place is not what these reviews say it is. It is a good place. Yes there are forced injections but only when you act out. If you are there to get better you will get better. It's not a bad place and it hasn't been a bad place ever. My neighbor went there when he was young. About 10 years ago. And my girlfriend was just there. I hope this review can save you from your worrying. When I read these reviews I had a massive panic attack. I don't wish that on anyone. So please don't worry. If you or your loved one truly wants to get better they will give you medicine and everything they can to help. It's not a bad place. I've heard nothing but good stories from the people in real life that I know personally. Not these random peoples reviews.

probably the worst place you could be sent to for mental health treatment. if i could give negative stars, i would. prison would be better than this place. yeah, seriously. the nurses are very, very rude and even make fun of patients, to their face and behind their back. so if you’re already struggling mentally, they just make it worse. if they put you on new medication and you ask what it does or what it’s for, they won’t tell you. they drug you up so they don’t have to deal with you as much. other patients are also rude and don’t care why you’re there or bother to understand what you’re going through. one girl (another patient) even grabbed me by the nose, twisted it, and threatened me and the staff did nothing about it. you’re not allowed to touch others though? ridiculous. and if you’re a girl, the guys there will harass you and make you feel uncomfortable. one night, i swear there was a guy sleeping next to my roommate in our room. how is that even allowed?? in the end, they only care about taking your money. every last penny. helping you? ha, forget it. if this place is meant to help, then they completely missed that mark. i felt worse leaving this place and still get flashbacks over a year later. thanks a lot. do not go here for treatment! ever. this facility should be shut down asap. one of my best friends also went here and agreed that it made her feel worse. and by looking at other reviews, it looks like we’re not alone in our mistreatment.

Matheson Deese

They care a lot about your recovery and making sure you can return to a healthy quality of life. The food is a little greasy, but it's not bad--southern cooking. I've had a really good experience here, but the reviews scared me. Don't be afraid to come here this place has really done wonders for me.

Jayla Potvin

HORRIBLE. I have 3 friends who have been sent here and have had awful experiences. They don’t care about you. They don’t do group therapy or anything. Food is awful, meds are late. One of my friends got locked in a room alone for hours with no food, and the thought scars her everyday. I want this place to be shutdown. It doesn’t make you better it makes you worse

Ted Lyon

If I could rate it with a minus I would. I sat in the waiting room alone for 1 hour, and I finally left without a word from anyone. No calls to check on me. The receptionist was very rude, talked to me like I was an animal. After filling out all their paperwork and returning it all she said was, sit. Like she was talking to her dog. I would never recommend anyone go to that place. They treat you like your garbage. Everyone has difficulties and needs help, it’s so sad that you are treated like that when you ask for help. Now I understand why some ppl choose suicide when you are treated like your worthless because your having problems dealing with life. These ppl need to learn compassion and treat the patient like they are worthy of more than what they think they are. Do not go to this place and never take a loved one there.

Angela OSWALD

I was not impressed whatsoever with the treatment of the dr or nursing staff. The nurses were up and down the halls yelling at one another and slamming doors at 2:00 this morning. I thought I was the only one who heard it but the entire west wing of bru was complaining this morning. Also the air went out and if anyone said something to the nurses about it all they could say was what you expect us to do about it. I know they have a job to do but we were patients and just because we have mental issues does not mean we are any less of a person. It was really amusing to watch the nursing staff running around though at about 10 AM trying to make sure they looked as though they had done and were still doing the job they were supposed to be doing when they found out corporate was there and was going to do walk throughs.

Keara Dorea

Nobody knows about anything including nurses and doctors. They don't treat u like a person they treat u like a check. Only there to collect money. Don't ever go there not even for a assessment they will commit u for nothing.... Well actually to get a check. Stay away

Just Not A Good Experience At All For Me Don't EVER Go There If You Don't Absolutely Have To For Psych Issues

i wen there may 1,2018 and it was absolutely horrible my birthday was may the 2 and i hadn’t been able to speak to my mom. and i had a anxiety attack and i started crying and they got these 2 big people to grab me and throw me in seclusion and they gave me like 10 shots and left me in there with no food no water no resteroom breaks. and i was tied to the chair.they make you feel horrible i do not recommend this place it gives me high mares to this day. it didn’t help me if anything it made everything way worse.

tammy bradley

This place is a joke, its more like a prison instead of a place to help you,the food was terrible, the first shift people were rude and non caring and the facility was dirty n nasty,I wouldnt reccomend this place for anyone.

Jackie M.

No help at all.

Lauren Broach

i went there and the place helped alittle bit but the food SUCKS and i had to share a food with someone who would run into the bathroom when i was showering and they need doors for the bathrooms and they dont listen to u when they do blood work i about died bc i was sick already and they made it even worse

I've been to several facilities in the past three years. & this one was by far the best. I attended this facility for almost three months. the doctors and nurses treated my peers and myself like human beings. if we were respectful they respected us. I mean that's how it works. you acted out, you got what was mandatory for them to do. the groups we had helped a lot of the people around me & personally helped me a lot as well. I felt very safe being in the facility. the food options were great and fit to everybody. they had vegan and vegetarian meals, and various amounts of food. you could eat as much as you want in the 30 minute time period you had, and sometimes the nurses were nice enough to let us eat for an extra few minutes. most of them were very understanding and caring for all of the patients. the unit I was in was fairly clean & the rules were standard, nothing to crazy. speaking for myself I felt very comfortable being there. the doctor I had was very considerate of how I felt and asked a lot of questions so he could diagnose me correctly. overall this place was great! & tbh as crazy as it sounds I didn't want to leave as soon as I did because of how much they helped me in the time period I was there.

Three visits. Three *Beep*ing visits. Each time they ignored the real issue and just we were told to take pills. Plus the *Beep*ed up sugar cookies! How the *Beep* do you manage that?!

I have a loved one locked up in this facility against his will. I have tried to contact the social worker, nurses, and even the person who is supposedly the patient advocate.. I CAN NOT get a return call! This facility is highly understaffed. My loved one is overly medicated all the time! He is locked inside a room for 21 hrs a day. The staff lies abt how well he is treated and stated he has privileges to make calls and access to communicate openly with family! This is a total lie! The Doctor is a spiteful and vindictive individual who has not tried to even communicate with my family. I am discouraged daily to not help my family and told that every decision is left for the doctor. The nurse has informed us that our family member has to go before a judge In order to leave this place. I asked how family can be present at the court and was told family is not allowed inside the court room! The staff treats individuals like children instead of adults. Nurse Vickie who is head of nursing told me that my family member will never leave until He learned to show some respect for the Doctor! My family member had been there over a week before we were contacted that he was there. The staff did not communicate with him at all as to why he was there and what kind of treatment plan was in effect for him. They ignored him and left him locked inside a room with a total stranger. They continuously give him Ambien shots to keep him sedated. His first two days there he slept the whole time b/c he was so heavily medicated. This is a very powerful drug that should not be given to someone the way the staff is administering to him. They claim he is a danger to society but yet he has NEVER been in trouble with the law. He is a Military Veteran who fought for our county and they treat him like a dog! This place is only looking to collect a check! If he did not have benefits to pay for his stay he would be discharged by now! They should not be in business. I am posting on all social media sites that I can. I beg you not to use this facility! I am also contacting the local news networks and legal help! Nurse Vicky found this funny and even stated "in her 17 years of employment there, she has yet to see a lawyer that is able to get someone released from there."She stated the Doctor has all the power and what the Doctor says the judge will do! I was very uncomfortable listening to Nurse Vicky gush over her "Doctor" that is on staff! I pray I can get my family from there and I pray for all the other individuals that are there find peace and a way to be released from this prison b/c that is what this place is!

The purest definition of evil. Involuntary injections and padded room lock down. Believe it or not 3 Rivers, because of you I left suicidal. Thanks for nothing, and good luck collecting payment for an involuntary commitment.

Hope Lide

This is the sorriest place I have ever seen!! Never I repeat never seen your child here. They dont help at all. My son tried to kill me because he is bipolar and didn't want to take his meds that only work in the dose that he was on. And they get him here lower the dose then say they are going to release him. I get here to pick him up after an almost 5 hr drive and they said he cant leave for me to leave and come back later to pick him up when the dr releases him. Wow it was only $75 in gas to come here one way. They the act like it's my fault when they lied and told me to be here at this time. My son even said they didnt do anything for him. This place is a joke and puts a bad name on facilities like this!!

I am 13 I have depression I went to the er and then a cop took me to three rivers they are very sexist and very disrespectful they treated me like I was nothing one of my friends got upset and started cussing the called a code yellow and two big guy grabbed him and he is only 14 and they gave him a shot in his but so he would calm down then they locked him in a room I don’t recommend this place at all I went to all the groups and I learned nothing go to another place but please for your own good don’t go to three rivers

Kristi Player

Most of the staff is very friendly, I wasn't a patient there but I visited someone several times who was a patient there. He said the place was ok, there are a lot worse out there, I believe that 100%. Visiting hours suck, only 3 days which are Thursday, Saturday, Sunday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Hard to call there and talk to a patient, they have very strict hours for incoming calls, best way to talk to patient is to wait on them to call you.

Ezra Myers

I'm still recovering from the emotional trauma that place gave me.

The rest of the staff I dealt with was great, my son was there back in June and they seemed to really care, but one of the staff members in the front got all snippy when all I said I was here to get my son, a simple reply of what is his name would have been sufficient, instead of "who are you looking for" rudely.

Kristall Sweetes

This place did nothing for me. When I went before I was admitted they told me and my parents all these great things that just were not true when I became a patient. I think I left there with more problems then I came with. When I tell you we didn't do anything therapeutic I mean we didn't do anything therapeutic. Pleas tell me how the movie how to loss a man in 10 days is at all helpful. Tell me how being yelled at and being called names by your therapist when you are suicidal is at all beneficial. Tell me how you are suppose to trust anyone there when your therapist tells your roommate to tell her anything and I mean ANYTHING you do. How are they suppose to help you when they barely talk to you. I was told by my staff to fake it until I made it and I did and I got out in two months. The shortest your stay is supposed to be is three months. I told those people absolutely nothing. I saw people that didn't have levels go for ttvs and people with levels never left. We spent more time watching movies and playing games then anything else. When it came to school we did 2 hours of work and even then we didn't really do anything we spent more time on riddles and talking then we did on any work. One staff broke a girls arm when restraining her. Staff would never be working on the same hall two days in a row. Other than that my stay was great you should send your child there if you want them to come home more screwed up than before.

If I could give it a rating in the negatives, I would. I was there as an adolescent patient after being involuntarily admitted for no reason by self regional hospital in March of 2018. I have been diagnosed with PTSD after my stay (5-7 days) due to the harsh treatment from the nurses. I was abused and called a “Dumb stupid adult who acts like a baby because you can’t properly talk and calm down during a panic attack” by one of the nurses. That same nurse (I can’t keep up with names) just grabbed me out of my bed like a rag doll and threw me into a wheelchair while I had my panic attack due to me not knowing where I was and why I couldn’t see and talk to my family. She did briefly tell me why but it wasn’t to where I could fully understand. After that first night, I spoke to another patient and she told me that they’ll discharge you if you are happy and healthy. All I had was anxiety and ocd. I realized from that point on, I had to act like I was happy so I just faked it to make it back home in the comfort of my family and pets. Constant yells and threats destroyed my mental state to where I’ll start thinking the nurses are coming after me again along with nightmares about the place. If you love your teen or whoever you’re thinking about sending here, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT. Prayers out there to those struggling

This place will scam you. During my initial intake assessment the lady told me they ran my insurance and it came back that I would be responsible for $0 and 0% which made sense considering I already met my deductible for the year. Nope! Upon being discharged they hit me with a bill for $499 A DAY and it came out to over $6,000. I'm not even 21 yet, I don't just have six grand sitting around in my bank account. They will find whatever reason to extend your stay so they can make money off of you. Also, I met a girl there who voluntarily checked herself in and when she tried to leave, they refused to let her. Again, these people are just after your money. Like others have said, if you want to get out ASAP just fake it until you make it.

Greggie Bear

You have to want help to get help, when you go to places like this, most come in with family issues, then want to blame three rivers for them being there, they are in crisis and when they get there. Family member put papers on them when they are a danger to themselves or others, then you want to blame three rivers for you being there or stop taking your meds when they get discharged.

Tyashia Farmer

I went it wasn't really helpful learned how to cope food does suck but otherwise that I guess it was different.

Bridget Miller

If I could zero stars I would. This place needs shut down and I have every intention of having this place investigated. My 11 year old son has been exposed to mental and physical abuse by other patients. They handled every aspect about my sons care in an inefficient and illegal manner. Unfortunately due to the current state of mental health care I assume little will be done. But i hope this review saves at least one parent from placing their child there.

Steven Posey

Got sent here a few years back, because Tuomey Hospital (Known by locals as "tombstone" and "death's door", for good reason) will immediately ship you there for depression, since they get kick backs. The wards smell like urine and despair, none of the staff give a damn about anything but doing as little work as possible, isolation and forced injections are used as a punishment, you see a doctor for about half a minute a day, and even homeless people would refuse the "food". This place is a disgrace and an atrocity of psychiatry.

nicole butler

If I could rate this place zero stars I would. They took my shoes and I had to walk around barefooted from the time I got there until the time I left. Dr. Hyde is a evil, cold, calculating manipulate woman. She does not and will not try to help you. She will take everything you say and use it against you. First when I got there I couldn't go to breakfast so I didn't have anything to eat and when they brought my breakfast about an hour later it was cold, I couldn't even choose what I wanted or didn't want and that matter because they gave me something I couldn't eat. I kept asking to get in touch with my command so I can get some clothes and shoes and contact information to get in touch with my family way on the other side of the country because they haven't heard from me for months and didn't know I was in there but three rivers never gave me/or let me get contact info for my command. Dr. Hyde kept falling asleep during our check up sessions then when I asked why she kept falling asleep on me (that is extremely rude) she blamed it on me and said because I wasn't saying anything even though she is the doctor and refused to ask me any questions. She then admited she lied and revealed the real reason she kept falling asleep on me (she was having family issues, but don't bring your problems to work and take it out on me). I was then sent to the crisis center and my only contact number thrown away by one of the group therapists. Dr. Hyde then falsely diagnosed Mr with something I didn't have and never had my whole entire life because when I got to the "med window" I was given the prescribed antidepressant and something else I have not ever received. I refused stating "I was never properly diagnosed or evaluated by a licensed psychiatrist using a diagnostic criteria examination" the proper way by law to diagnose someone. I may have been depressed by that doesn't mean I'm stupid. They then forced an injection in my arm and left me on the cold hard floor locked out the room crying and breaking down from being treated the way I was the whole time I was in there. I never in my life broken down before but between all the bullying, harassment, abuse, and singling out I was going through in basic training then to go there and be denied shoes, clothes, a way to contact family, and then lied on by Dr Hyde and forced medication I didn't need for a fake illness I yelled, and cried for the first time in a long time. They really just did what they wanted with/to me and I wasn't even told I was being transported off base and had nobody telling me nothing and people doing what they wanted with me. A jealous old woman in the crisis unit made me her bitter enemy out of jealousy. The nurses, technicians, doctors, and therapist are very patronizing and treat/talk to you like you are a petulant little retarded, baby who is a burden and doesn't know what is going on and who is crazy but don't know it. I caught on to the memo that you had to act "okay" "better" and "happy" to be released so I did. I started taking the prescribed medicine that I did not need because I was falsely diagnosed and the technician will look at me and say "better?" As if the medication I did not need was making me "uncrazy". I was shipped off to another doctor because dr Hyde was being petty and immature whining about how I didn't agree with the medication she prescribed and I told the new doctor I was unproperly diagnosed as which too he disagreed because the conniving dr Hyde had him fooled too, he also stated that I was doing better from the medication but that was just me acting happy to get out of there not me responding to the medication I did not need. My next doctor was so unprofessional, uncaring, stuck up, & conceited that she didn't want to work with my command on getting me to my appointment so I could finish my discharge packet so I missed my deadlines to get gear turned in and had to wait after new years to get discharged all because of her. That means I spent Halloween, thanksgiving, christmas eve, christmas, new years eve, and new years, plus a birthday...

Cynthia Barfield

They turn their back on you when they see you coming. Meds were never on time. They dont give enough time to eat. Food is poor. Servers are rude. Nurses usless. Male med nurses great. They lock you out your room w no warning 12 hours a day...i could go on. My first stay w them was nice this one horrible

StarDreamUtopia ASMR

Literally all they care about is money. They kicked me out after I asked to go to long term and they said it would not help but that's just because the insurance company would get mad if they kept me for too long. Now I don't feel comfortable asking for help cuz I feel like the er would send me there again

My darling teen-aged daughter was hospitalized here. I didn't understand a lot of the rules, as this was my first encounter with a hospital of this sort. At first I was on edge thinking they've taken her and just locked her up and didn't even call me until the following afternoon. After looking at the reviews online, I dreaded and expected the WORST. However, the first visitation day came and my opinions drastically changed. After going through the security measure (signing in, leaving my cell phone in the car and having to ring the door bell), I talked to the other parents in the waiting room. They didn't like the situation that brought them there but they seemed at ease and trusting of the place. I saw my daughter, she looked great. Her eyes were clear, her color was warm, she was smiling and knew all the other kids there by name. I asked her every question I could think of. She said she wished they weren't so strict but she understood why they were. She didn't like the food but she liked being housed with kids like her going through the same things she was. She said the place gave her structure and helped through group, to talk about her issues. She actually told me she loved it there. On her last day, she gave everyone hugs (they're not really allowed hugs but she is a very loving teen) and she was sad to be leaving them. Afterwards, she was like a whole new kid. She didn't take anything for granted, always smiling. They put her on wellbutrin and it seems to really help. Our case worker was Nikki. She never answered her phone but she would get my messages most of the time in a timely manner. As far as I could see there was nothing indicating anything foul going on. The place was clean, well organized, well supervised, and really friendly nurses at the desk who answered any question or concern I had without hesitation. Overall, the adolescent ward is a good place. My daughter felt safe and well cared for. She said she wouldn't have a problem going back again if she needed to. I don't see why there are so many negative reviews but please, don't worry. See your kid before you drag yourself through sleepless nights. I've never let my daughter out of my sight but after 2 visits, I felt assured that she was safe and in a place she trusted.

Christin Lide

This place is horrible. They don't help the kids at all. The staff is really rude when you try and talk to them about your child.

Veronica Hurst

i went to this place an it was horrible. i thought i would go there to make a change. they staff where very disrespectful. there was 2 girls cutting there self with the nails. a guy snorted his medicine it was crazy. there was a little boy and he got mad that a boy touched his stuff. there was about 8 nurses that grabbed the little boy an threw him in a isolated room an loaded him up with shots. they left him in there for 2 days. i advice you this is not a "safe" place as they say.

Karen Vichich

Knew someone whom went here unjustly. Heard it was terrible and they made the person wear a napkin paper gown to avoid injury, no underwear or anything. What the heck!

Stephanie Welch

Awful place. Misdiagnosed me and set me up for failure. Never questioned me just went off what my ex husband said! They are not out to help just babysit.

Marco Polo

This place is a complete sham. It's a holding facility and designed to hold 'patients' for however long they can and suck insurance companies dry. PLEASE, if you need help DON'T go to 3 Rivers.

Steve Somerville

I only gave this place 1 star because of what I've read. I go inpatient Monday for detox. For alchohol and crack cocaine. I'm military and in a bad way. Any advice is appreciated.

Dustin Folk

my son has been here for 48 hours and has already had his shirt ripped and punched in the face. i would try to get help for your children else where.

emily blackmon

i went there in march and it wasn't very good to me. i had a mental break down because of a boy there was messing with me and got into trouble for punching a sink and they did nothing to the boy

Going to Three Rivers was one of the best decisions I've ever made. The staff was knowledgeable and compassionate. From the time I checked in to the time I was discharged, I felt like I was in good hands. The social work groups that I participated in daily really helped me get my life and focus back on track. The staff is focused on helping you and doing what's best (even if that can be challenging to accept). In addition to social work groups, there was also activity therapy. I did a lot of great art therapy while I was there (and brought it home with me). There were opportunities everyday to go outside (weather providing) and sit in the courtyard. It was nice to be around other people who were going through similar situations as me. The only thing that I can think could be improved upon would be the facilities. It was clean, but some of the seating and such could likely be updated. I also think the gym could be improved upon. I was on the adult side of the facility and therefore can't speak to the conditions of the adolescent and senior areas. They have alternative food options for people with dietary needs, you just have to establish that when you're doing your sign in process. Also be prepared to be really honest with them and the struggles you are facing. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone struggling with their mental health.

Kathy Boyd

I WAS THERE, FOOD WAS GOOD. IF I EVER( LORD WILLING) 11 YRS. SINCE I WAS LAST COMMITTED THERE.I WOULD RATHER GO THERE THAN ANY OTHER PLACE. WHICH NOT MANY LEFT.

While, I am not exactly sure what rating/level of service you provide here I want to let you know ahead of time I don't need your services. I do not have a mental health problem and I am tired of people lying getting me locked up in Richland Springs and other institutions I don't need. I will never check in here. I pray you provide the proper treatment to all of your clients.

I went here a little over a year ago and was placed in the adolescent unit for suicidal ideation and anxiety. Although a few of the nurses, particularly the ones that have the night shift, were rude, the majority of them were very kind. One even sat with me indivially for an hour and calmed me down when I had a panic attack. Aside from the nurses, the only other benefit to being there is being surrounded by other kids going through similar situations. In a sense it felt like camp as a group of us grew very close and even exchanged numbers (which is not allowed) and we still talk to this day. The "therapy" provided, however, does nothing to benefit patients. Shortly after arriving there I realized I had to pretend to be ok in order to be released. The biggest issue is that the goal of the facility doesn't seem to be to help patients. In actuality, it's a money scam. Overall I can say my experience there was stressful to an extent but the friends I made helped me in the process of overcoming my suicidal ideations.

Due to a bad reflection of a medication it triggered my depression and they placed me in this place. As for the people defending this place the only way you got decent treatment is cause you faked it. This place is not interested in making you better and the few short classes really are not helpful. Most are Taylored to small kids with stuff that is not inlighting to adults. Basically I would say if you care so much for your family members instead of wasting your money go see a real person that really wants to give helpful Information to you and your loved ones. These people don't do much more than get paid for saying rehearsed lines, changing sheets, treating adults like kindigarden children. Only good days were visitation days cause they kiss ass so you will not tell your visitors how they treated you. This place was a waste and personally it made me want to kill myself more being stuck their. I did not even out till I got out of their. And their billing after calling you trying to say you owe them when you have proof insurance payed them, they just hang up in your face

Three Rivers is only a half step up from prison. I was involuntarily admitted after begging to be taken to Baptist instead. First, I was punished for having a panic attack after not being given my medications. When I was finally given my medication again, I was put right back onto very high doses instead of being slowly worked up to these doses. One medication I take can be fatal if that is done. During my panic attack, I banged my head against the floor and wall and the staff did nothing to stop me. My punishment was to be moved to the restrictive, Crisis Stabilization Unit. I was also denied access to an inhaler during these panic attacks despite the fact that I have asthma, which was documented in my records. This is supposed to be a no contact facility, but several times other patients were allowed to touch me with not so much as a verbal reprimand from staff and once another patient punched me in the ribs. Again, staff did nothing. This facility has a medical doctor on staff but they are incompetent at handling any physical medical issue. I have type 1 diabetes and they kept my blood sugar between 300-600 the entire time I was there, sending me into ketosis and almost diabetic ketoacidosis. Twice, I was denied access to my insulin. I got a corneal abrasion while I was there and went about 36 hours without treatment. I only got treatment after my mother threatened legal action. I never got to meet with my social worker and when I asked to speak with her, she asked what I wanted, as if I was bothering her. My discharge summary claimed I received both individual and group therapy but there was absolutely no therapy of any kind provided while I was there. Most of our time was spent sleeping in the day room or staring at the walls because we were locked out of our bedrooms and had nothing to occupy our time. The tv was off, no books, no playing cards, etc. Most of the staff was sullen and rude and acted severely bothered when we asked for anything although we had to ask for just about everything. This place is a glorified medication dispensary. These people do not care about the people confined to their facility, they are just interested in billing insurance and making money.

I disagree with a lot of people’s reviews. Three Rivers really helped me understand my depression and anxiety. The staff is wonderful, and they are truly there to help. The group therapy helped me understand the importance of respecting others whom have their own issues. They have great food, television, basketball, outside activities, music, and Xbox. I would recommend the facility to anyone whom wants to learn more about themselves. In my opinion, if you listen to the staff you’ll understand you’re not alone and everyone has his or her own issues.

I had outpatient therapy and the doctors were amazing I didn't wanna leave. I cannot tell you how much they help me.

Do not send your loved one to this place! They will not help, they only sedate. The doctor and the social worker Traci were incompetent. Traci calls telling you that your family member is ready to go home, while a nurse calling your other line saying they had to sedate them. My family complained about abuse and not having a bed to sleep on. The social worker Traci would feed my family sob stories to tell us. Then Traci would tell my family that we didn't want them. I am seeking an attorney now to shut at least have them investigated.

My apologies to Three Rivers Behavioral Health. I was misdirected to the wrong web site. My comments were about a client's experience at Three Rivers Midlands.

Staff in most units other than the adult were absolutely terrible. Adult unit was decent but the facility was DISGUSTING. Cleaning was terrible, food was terrible. Went days without even knowing who my doctor, social worker or even nurses were.

I personally found this place for my mother for detox. I was under the assumption that the nurses would be caring and considerate. Shortly come to find out that the nurses are rude, told her it’s only going to get worse. Meds are late. However, I am grateful my mom did get through this program. I am glad she got detoxed. but it still was awful to hear my mom cry over the phone to me. Detox sucks for anyone and it’s going to be hard absolutely anywhere you go but when you have nurses who are supposed to help you and they just treat you badly.. that’s no support and it doesn’t help. Not all the nurses were bad, maybe this is just everywhere you go. Also, the food sucked!

I would give this facility a million zeros but you have to pick at least one star to comment so i did. Thid facility is terrible!!! They mistreat, misdiagnose, abuse, neglect, over medicate patient's. I was held by 6 male staff members and forced to take a shot of haroldol because I tied my t- shirt in a not and a little bit of my tummy was showing. By the time the shot was put into the needle I took my shirt out of the knot but one of the mem who was hold me against a door said " it's to late you still have to take it because the medicine is already inside the needle. I was also made to pee on the floor because I was not allowed to use the bathroom while in solitary confinement room. They prey on mentally ill and, this facility formally know as Charter's River's killed an elderly man by drowning him look it up online.

This "center" held my MINOR child for 5 hours without telling me he was admitted. In the meantime, I did not know where he was! No one told me I could be there for intake. No one told me when I could see (during visiting hrs only) my child until I called 5 times. They told me a social worker would call me... in FIVE DAYS. (although I haven't heard from one yet) They treated my 15 year old with no criminal record like an inmate. They withheld information from me. They lied to me and blamed Lexington Medical Center for losing records. They did not make me aware of a "phone list" until I called after not hearing from my child for a day. They decided it would be easier to stick my child a second time for blood tests rather than call Lexington Medical Center for another copy of his test results. (Billing insurance again for test already completed, I'm sure) They denied my son's several requests to call his mother throughout intake. All in all, the way patients are treated and handled is a travesty. Inmates are treated better than these children and their families. Whatever policy is, when you have a anxious patient who is non combative and not a immediate threat, it's ridiculous to cuff them, it's dehumanizing. If you want to run this place like a secure facility, I suggest being a little more organized. The entire experience has made me look at the way the entire system works, and it is a disgrace!

Unethically medically practices are used here, it reminded me of jail except they over medicate u, and if u have any alcohol / drug use they will label u a drug addict, for example if u have got drunk first n ur life, they will label u a drug addict and push u to do there iop program, and if ur commited and papers don't get dropped, you'll be forced to attend it, and have ur guns rights taken away for being chemically dependent and mentally defective, doctors here meet with u for bout 2 mins everyday and throw a diagnose s at u all while not knowing ur history, the treatment is horrible 3 groups a day, sit around watch TV and eat medication, that some do not need, or taken off some that are beneficial, I know this place from experience, and this is a private hospital not connected to the state so they make money, its a revolving door n there with 36 ppl on a unit, I seen ppl have strokes and seizures because the medication was not needed or was to high of a dose, staff ignores u or looks down upon u, u are not a patient here, u are a chart with a name and insurance check, if someone is struggling look to residential treatment somewhere, or Richland springs, never three rivers tho, they got my ass traumatized pretty bad, had to fake it to make it, enough staff will tell to do it, and for anybody going here for detox know that if u lay n the bed all day they will lock u and roommate out of ur room. Place needs to be closed down or over taken by the state to bring it up to par, don't put know one here! For there benefit of there well being, look for other places.

I was in there 5 years ago and broke my arm and they didn’t take me to a doctor until two weeks later and I was in excruciating pain

My experience was above all okay. The aides and doctors were sometimes very mean and unfair to us, and they didn't seem like they even cared. Although, I did get some help from it, but not enough. I ended up getting hospitalized 2 more times after that but I think this place is okay. The rooms were good, and my memories of it make me cry sometimes. Very bland. You could have NO connection to the outside world. It was just not a good time.

John Smith

The staff is very rude and they do not treat you with respect at all. They make you feel like a prisoner when In all reality you did nothing wrong. We got stuck eating the nasty food they make while they eat Krispy Kreme doughnuts in front of us.

This is the WORST psychiatric facility I've ever seen. Patients are ignored, medical issues go untreated to the point where they end up in the emergency room. Staff and physicians lie to patients and to family members. This place should be SHUT DOWN before they kill somebody. Check out all of the lawsuits that have been filed against them on the South Carolina Public Index. I would NEVER voluntarily choose this facility and I would NOT advise ANYONE to go there as a patient.
