I would not recommend Mary Jenks Center for Behavioral Health. James Jenkins is the Doctor and the office staff is horrible. After a very rude office staff asked details then rudely said you need to go somewhere else. This is a center of counselors and Psychiatrist, professions that are supposed to want to help people and it is very obvious they do not. It was also very unprofessional to even ask confidential questions over the phone by someone unlicensed. Rude staff, unprofessional and definitely uncaring.

I COMPLETELY disagree with Todd's review. I have received the best care at this center, by every member of the staff. Stephanie is always sweet and has a smile on her face, they are on top of insurance claims, and every person I have dealt with has shown understanding and compassion, as well as excellent knowledge of my needs. I fired my previous doctor of 5 years after catching him in a lie, and he made pills a food group for me without even understanding what he was treating. Before Dr. Jenkins even saw me, I had a professional assessment done by an expert in Mt. Pleasant, and have even had a gene test done to find out which medications would best treat me. Dr. Jenkins goes beyond just being a psychiatrist, and takes time with his patients. It's obvious that he TRULY cares about the lives of the people that come to him, and I was lucky to have had a friend to refer me to him. His services have been far beyond what I expected, and I foresee a long lasting doctor/patient relationship with him. His NP is also fabulous, as I've had the pleasure of seeing her twice. Todd must have an attitude problem, or wasn't honest and was seeking pills. Dr. Jenkins prescribes exactly what is needed and nothing beyond, unlike my previous doctor. There have been times that I have had to wait a while after my appointment time, but I have the understanding that he takes his time, doesn't rush, and this helps him to be thorough in addressing each patient's individual needs. Absolutely STELLAR CARE!!!!

I feel quite thankful that a friend referred me to this practice. It may seem a bit old-school to some, but it is perfect for the baby boomer generation as well as the millennial generation. Having quite knowledgeable counselors as well as a deeply caring psychiatrist on staff is amazing in these times. Mental health is lacking in America, but this Center helps everyone that they can. I am very thankful for all that they have done for me and my family.

I see Sherlonda at Mary Jenkins center and have for years. She is amazing, and takes her time with each of her patients. She's always understanding and caring, even though I know I'm not the best patient

After the death of my might as well say mother and father he knew something wasn't right we tried a different meds untillnfinally he got me on the proper dose and my life has changed for the better because he asked the questions I think I was scared to answer or ask myself. All in all thank you to everyone there from the doctors to the staff who are not rude btw!! Very friendly
