Phones always go to voicemail. They refuse to help people in need. They act like it's a privilege to be seen.

Camee Poirrier

I’m learning that finding a psychiatrist in the Savannah area is challenging. I received a call back after leaving a message Thursday, Friday and Monday; unfortunately this practice doesn’t accept my Aetna insurance but I was willing to pay the $300 cash price if they could get my son in sooner than 3 weeks from now only to be told that the only way the lady on the other end of the phone could open the schedule to view availability is to put a credit card in the system. Now, that’s odd but I’ve heard stranger things so I say “okay, in general how far out is your new patient scheduling? ..a week, a month, several months?” This is when she got really ugly and said “I told you I can’t tell you that until you give me your credit card!”

Robert Burtsell

I've always had great service here. Appointment times are held, which is great for busy professionals.

Kim Grant

Will never go here again. Staff does not understand how insurance works so they try to charge you cash payment. Very rude front staff. Run as fast as you can.

june

Very disappointed in this office. So wrong for a psychiatrist office to trigger a patient. 1. This group charges double what the insurance would have paid for the appt if you are sick and miss an appt. And we wonder why health insurance increases all the time. 2. A patient who has insurance is denied scheduling and prescription refills until they pay the missed appt fee. To the patient, this appears as a threat. Especially when they have little to no $$$. But who cares about the patient. Very rude. 3. Finally got a call back- this group is focused more on $$$ then how they treat their patients.

The saving grace of this mess of a psychiatric office is the doctors and therapists. However, the behavior of the front desk staff is unacceptable. They rarely return phone calls, are often unavailable unless you hit "New patient," cancel on you with hour's notice, and mis-schedule appointments while trying to blame you for their mistakes. They overbook appointments so that you have to schedule weeks in advance, and you're plain out of luck if your doctor or counselor has to cancel on you. They also charge an unforgiving late fee for even the greatest of emergencies (had a family death, was still asked to pay repeatedly until I threatened to leave - I guess my continued patronage and money was worth more than the $125). I also find the front desk staff to be distinctly dishonest at times, insisting they told me something they never did. I suppose they were looking to cover themselves instead of owning up to their mistakes, but with behavior like this I wonder why I still even come back. Like I said, the saving grace is the doctors and counselors - if you can make it past the guantlet of front desk staff. EDIT: I no longer go here. I loved my doctor but I cannot deal with the ineptitude of the front desk.

Really wish I had read the reviews before my visit.

ZoeWow o.O

I took months to get an appointment as a returning client, when i finally got the appointment it all went well. I had an issue with my prescription and had to call the office. The receptioist said she would give me a call back, as i was in the pharmacy waiting for a response. After more than hour i called back, and she then tells me that she cant do anything until the next morning. That should have been relayed the first time so i wasnt sitting for waiting for an answer that had i not called i would have never recieved. The doctors are great, but the front desk staff is horrible.

Jerry Traveler

This is a very nice office. My Dr. was very friendly and he listen and asked questions. That is all you can ask a Dr. to do.I have been digno. with ADHD...and the Dr. is working with me to help me out.The office staff is very friendly and that is all you can ask.I am sure they have to put up with people who are very trouble and do the best they can. And I fully understand the no show fee...I am sure people decide that day they do not need help...and just not go. If you have having to go here it is a very important part of your life...and you should know if you can make an appointment or not.I use my Google calendar to remind me of all my appointments.Keep up the good work!

Patrick Kaufman

Horrible Staff! I wish the doctors cared enough to care who is greeting their patients. WORST front office staff

Michelle Van Guilder

Rude as can be. Tried to schedule an appointment, but once they found out I don’t have the insurance they take, they acted like they wanted nothing to do with my. I would expect more from a psychiatrist office.

Mark Thompson

A week and a half ago I lost my teenage daughter. I called the emergency line to try to get an appointment with the doctor I had been seeing. It was a Saturday and was assured by the doctor on call that Monday I would be called to get an appointment. They never called back. If they can't even care for something this devistating how do you think they will react to any issue.

Dr. Sayyar should not be allowed to practice and if you are seeking help for Generalized Anxiety Disorder stay far away. After meeting with him and talking to him he made me feel judged but at the same time he gave the impression that he was going to treat me properly and was understanding. But he was far from that it began with him starting me on a third of the previous medication I had been on for years and telling me to use it as needed when I ran out of the medication he insinuated that the medication I use to make my anxiety bearable had been used abusively he then took me off the medication and attempted to mislead me with a blatantly lie stating he would give me hydroxyzine to treat me until I saw him again when asked what the medication was he said it was the same thing as Clonezepam and it was a anti anxiety which is false it is a antihistamine. Overall he was the worst psychiatrist I've seen by far and I would not recommend him to anyone he will leave you in a worse place than you originally began.

Taylor Mongin

Professional and courteous doctors and staff.

I contacted Savannah Psychiatry because a friend of mine had a good experience with Dr. Sites. It’s sad that their new patient office staff puts off such a bad impression that people wouldn’t move forward with treatment there. Because I know someone who has treated there, she has told me her rates (since my health insurance plan doesn’t cover mental) and get told a number 3x the amount of what she is paying. Sadly in this day in age, a lot of people need mental health only to be met with this type of attitude and distaste when they try and seek help. Good luck to anyone who tries to treat here.

Office staff is insufferable. Website and staff said they took my insurance, but I didn't learn until I went in for pre-appt. paperwork that the one doctor who accepted my insurance wasn't taking new patients. I can't afford the $300 appointment so I cancelled, and the staff told me they still might have to charge me for the late cancellation. I couldn't even make an appointment for a month--the worst game of phone tag I've ever had the misfortune to play. I effectively gave them my schedule each time I called and they completely ignored when I said I could talk, instead opting to call while I had clearly stated I was busy. Obviously this is not a testament to the doctors as I have never met them, but I don't see how they even have patients with staff like this.

Jessica English

They have a very strict, unforgiving Missed Appointment Policy. Who can afford paying $125.00 for making an honest mistake... one missed appointment while being a patient there for a year (seen for stress). As if I weren't stressed enough before being seen there! Also, usually, at other doctor's offices, when a patient misses an appointment, the office calls to at least reschedule, right? Not here. I didn't even realize I'd missed the appointment until I got the bill in the mail (I only went every 4-6 weeks). [To boot, my doctor (who was AMAZING!) left the practice without any warning, and I can't say that I blame her.] I understand the need for such a policy--honestly, I do. But it's a little much to be so relentless. The cost of making a mistake is just too high, and I think they should at least grant ONE "oops" card, so to speak. There are 52 weeks in a year, Savannah Psychiatry... ever had a bad one?

Had the worst experience today. As MANY of the other reviews stated, office manager is extremely rude. She doesn't seem to remember that she works at a PSYCHIATRY office. I could have been having a panic attack for all she knows. (Which isn't much as she stated she knows nothing about the medications!) I am going through a difficult time in my life including anxiety induced seizures. Apparently I really messed up when I asked to go up on my dosage of anxiety meds and to switch doctors as mine is new and seems uncomfortable and not very confident. I was told I'd get a call back with an appointment for a new doctor. What I got was a call back from an entitled, rude, and downright mean "office manager" asking me not to come back. I now have 30 days to find a new doctor. GREAT place to help with anxiety, right?

Amelia

I have been going here for years and the doctors (especially Dr. Sites) and LCSWs have ALWAYS been fantastic, in addition, they have made significant strides in their customer service and response time. If I have any issues or questions I always receive either an immediate response or am called back by the end of the day. Everyone is very friendly at the front desk and I feel like em they have become like my little psychiatry family!

Was a patient for a few years. My account was always in good standing, and is paid in full. I will not be returning. You may have a different experience, and may get what you need here, but they seem more concerned with patient quantity and money, than quality patient care.

A. Moore

Sometimes you wait a little like any doctor's office. But I really like the staff. . The time I've spent talking with them has really helped me.

tiffany meadows

Recently I called to make a new patient appointment. My call was returned timely and they were able to see me quickly. Unfortunately, they were not in my network, Humana. I was surprised to find out that they out of network costs were affordable. When I arrived for my appointment, I was seen at my scheduled time. I saw the MD on the first appointment and the process was smooth. I checked in, saw the doctor, checked out, scheduled my follow up appointment and am on my way to feeling better. Thank you Savannah Psychiatry

Melanie Tindel

I have been seeing Dr. Sites almost 5 months. I have never had a problem with him or the staff. He asks pertinent questions, and listens to my concerns and observations with respect. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. I had one issue with receiving a bill even though my insurance paid, but when I questioned them there was already a credit on my account and they offered the refund or to leave as credit. I have not had any issues with waiting or needing to schedule/ reschedule. * The only unpleasant event I have had is the diagnostic testing set-up. I would suggest having a different area for that.

michael kiriakos

Great and very friendly staff. Really clean and professional atmosphere. I have only exceptional service while being at Savannah Psychiatry and Dr. Sites is very professional and knowledgeable.

Kaeleigh Jackson

The actual doctors are decent but holy hell is the front desk staff lifeless, rude, and uncaring. Or at least the brunette that I encounter regularly is. I’ve never had a problem checking out, but at most every check in there’s a young brunette woman who seems like she’s being tortured to be there. You have to have a sense of kindness or at least respect when you’re working in a doctors office that specializes in mental health issues. I would almost like to find another office if it weren’t such a hassle to find providers under my insurance. But truly, it’s not that hard to act like you want to be at your job or even fake be nice to people. Be a professional and do your job with grace. I’ve seen more personality in a used condom. To top off the rude service, good luck trying to get ahold of anyone or anyone’s voice mail if you’re calling during normal business hours. I called about 12 times on a Friday at 11am to pay a bill and couldn’t reach anybody. Couldn’t even leave a voice mail. This office is a shitshow. I will be looking around for new doctors, hopefully in an office that hires live human beings who take responsibility for their words and actions. I’m angry that so much of my money has gone towards a poorly run office full of incompetent office workers.

Jennifer Poudrier

I have been seeing Dr. Sites for 2 years now. He is always on schedule. I don't think I have ever waited longer then 15 minutes. The staff is so kind and helpful!!

Brianne Halverson

Great team of doctors.

Stephanie Skinner

Dr. Winders is simply the best in Savannah.

Bethany H

Stress-free first visit. Very professional service from the administrative staff in the front office. Doctor was patient and listening intently. Kind, professional and interested. Answered all questions thoroughly with patience. A breath of fresh air kind of visit! Thank you.

Lara Pascoe

Great office staff! I’ve had multiple excellent visits with my doctor and I appreciate the short wait times. I highly recommend.

I was referred to this practice last year by a good friend of mine. By far 2018 best decision! Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very disappointing and unprofessional on many levels. Have a child who is really struggling. My child is a patient of Dr. Winders, although he has never seen my child, always the PA. Had her therapist call to discuss the case with this office. The therapist called on three separate occasions and not once did he receive a call back. Terrible practice- do not send you child here.

I've had nothing but great experience. The staff are respectful and nice. As said by someone else you never have to wait as they don't overbook. The first time I missed an appointment and learned the charge was ~$80 I was pretty pissed but when I talked it out with them they cut the charge in half and explained they do that so they don't have to double/triple book and make you wait forever like most doctors. Since I've been them for a couple years and missed another appointment they even dropped that one completely when I explained that I had fell into a really bad stretch of anxiety & depression . I also really like my Dr and as he really listens to what you say and then advices/prescribes using your input rather than just what the textbook said in med school like so many other doctors out there. I would highly recommend this office at least from what I have seen in needing treatment for anxiety/depression.

S Parker

I have always had a great experience at this practice. Dr. Sites and his staff are friendly, attentive, and very amenable to their patients needs.

D Ray

The office staff is HORRIBLE! I would seriously suggest sensitivity and service re-training for the staff . Since my first visit to this office I have received nothing but horrible, rude service. I was referred from my primary care doctor and on my first visit I was charged over 200 some odd dollars with no warning or indication as a first time patient! This is not normal ! When I questioned the charges I was treated as though I couldn’t pay for it or I didn’t have funds to do so. They were trying to work out a payment plan of some sort instead of explaining to me what or why I was being charged. Most employers offer Eap for free ! The woman at the window refused to answer any further questions or send over my prescriptions until payment was rendered. “ we can’t provide any other services until we receive payment “ “ you can’t answer my questions? “ “ no ma’am “ I paid the Outrageous Fee and upon my next visit I had a credit balance on my account Of almost $100.

Tara Van Kleef

If I could rate this office a zero, I would. My boyfriend and I have called back repeatedly looking for psychiatric help. Not only were we never talked to or treated humanely, they never called us back, after more than ten individual phone calls. The audacity of this psychiatric office to say that they offer to help and counsel people when they won't answer distressing phone calls, when any obviously the well being of patients is of no concern to them. Absolute disgrace to the study of psychiatry and a disservice to anyone who pays for these unempathetic and unprofessional "practitioners" to "treat" them. They should be shut down for malpractice, as obviously they aren't serving their only purpose.

Shaun Seymour

Literally the worst place if you need help. Gets charged $100 for missed appointment couldn't reach them to cancel before hand. Also l they the communication when trying to pay off outrageous fee they forget to mention how much owed entirely. Waste of time. You're better off going anywhere else.

Rhonda Willingham

If I could leave one star for this review I would. I called this office to schedule an appointment and I have never been treated so rude in my life. The fact that they are a mental health facility and they show such disrespect and hateful attitudes towards folks really shocked me. I wouldn't even bother! Staff behavior is shocking and discouraging.

Vanessa Ives

Office staff has improved a bit... Providers here (like Dr. Sites) are good; but some of them are very unforgiving with their cancellation policies. It doesn’t matter what happens in your life; they will charge you the full amount ($100 or more) for a missed appointment, whereas other offices only charge a minimal fee for a missed appointment and it’s on a case by case basis. I had to stop coming to Savannah Psychiatry because I just couldn’t afford it anymore. Very sad, indeed.

Adam Becker

I recommend going somewhere else. The receptionist was so rude that it was astonishing. The time spent with Dr. Sayyar was expensive and useless. I went to cancel my follow-up appointment a week later and found that it wasn't even in the system. There was far more emphasis placed on them receiving payment than me receiving help. I did get 2 really good recommendations from another source though. Dr. Ray Gaskin is good for substance abuse assistance and Willingway Statesboro for treatment programs of all sorts. I have scheduled appointments with both. So far, the experience has been good. Good luck folks!!!

Aaron Wygant

Very nice and professional staff and Doctors. I've had nothing but exceptional service from Savannah Psychiatry! They will work with you, and insure that you are well taken care of. I highly recommend!

Ashley-Bria McCormick

Manager, next time you think to return a call and inquire about an “attitude,” reflect on the fact that you work at a PSYCHIATRISTS office, where people come to get through the darkest times in their lives. GOD FORBID A PERSON WHO IS SEEKING THERAPY BE IRRITABLE. If your feelings are hurt by people asking legitimate questions, get a new job. And at the very least for heavens sake get a grip!

Janet Hamilton

Patient for 6+ years and have had a wonderful experience. I am self-pay now, but when I had insurance that they did accept, they always went above and beyond following up with insurance claims. Phone messages are always returned.

Nolan Mell

I hope the other one was deleted. Dr Sites? Let me know

Kimberly Beeson

This is one of the most efficiently run practices I have seen. They are on time, visits are comfortable and fast. The front desk associates are so nice and easy to work with. Dr. Sayeer is very short and to the point. Which a Psychiatrist should be by the way. They are NOT psychologist and I am impressed by the fact they do not push talk therapy. As an EXTREME introvert with very high levels of social situational anxiety disorders I appreciate and respect the choice of being allowed to have a voice in how I wanted to proceed with my course of treatment. THANK YOU SAVANNAH PSYCHIATRY. I will never go anywhere else!

pfp1988 .

I called for an appointment as a new patient. The receptionist ask several questions. Have you every been an in house" or "out house" patient, in an accident, fight, filed for disability, or missed work? If you answer yes to any of these, they will not schedule an appointment with you. I said what about the health and well being of the patient..Stated at about 11:47am on 12-5-13 that she does not make the rules.

Lore Carranza

Awful service, specially the Manager very rude and unprofessional.

Lori Werner

Tried to reschedule an appointment and they would not work with me, even though I tried to cancel eight hours before my appointment. Most places require a 24 hour notice, but will work with you as long as you don't call RIGHT before your appointment and cancel. This place is not understanding if you have something come up at work and cannot get off to make your appointment, which is what happened to me. Also, it is almost impossible to get someone to call you back if you are an established patient. The only way I have been able to talk to someone right away is if I choose the option that I am a new patient. Currently looking for a new psychiatrist. **Edit 1/29/2016** I addressed this issue with Dr. Sayyar after he told me he read my review. He said he would speak to the front desk receptionists. Several months go by and I don't have any issues until yesterday. I got a voicemail from one of the receptionists stating they needed to cancel my next appointment and reschedule. I call back five times, and no one answered the phone. I even selected the "new patient" option. I finally selected that I was "calling from a hospital or Dr.'s office" and finally someone answered. Even though the person I spoke with was in billing, she still helped me and rescheduled my appointment. The practices of the front desk reception are extremely unprofessional. What is even more frustrating is that Dr. Sayyar told me he would address the issue and assured me it would get better. He also asked me to remove this review shortly after I posted it. Until the front desk starts treating patients with courtesy and respect, and actually answers the phone, after THEY cancel an appointment, then I may consider changing my review - but I will never take it down. This has been my experience with Savannah Psychiatry since 2012. If you are going to run a business this way and have extremely inflexible cancellation policies, but not hold your own company to the same standards, I will speak up.

Dawan Grant

They snatched my prescription away :(

Thomas Moore

Elizabeth Thompson

Won't return phone calls. Rude and bitchy office staff. Had to call twice for a return call, then was told by rude female That they don't accept my insurance. My husband goes there and they accept my insurance for him.

Weldon Ray Smith Jr.

IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL PRACTICE OR BUSINESS AND HAVE APPOINTED TIMES FOR AN INDIVIDUAL AND THEY NO SHOW- YOU LOSE MONEY AND SOME OTHER PATIENT/CUSTOMER LOST AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE SEEN/SERVED AT THAT TIME. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO LOOK AT A SITUATION; UNFORTUNATELY, THESE DAYS WE ARE SHORT-SIGHTED AND ONLY SEE THINGS FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE. IT'S ALL ABOUT PERSPECTIVE. I TELL MY WIFE THIS 84,627,962 TIMES A YEAR BUT STILL COMPLAINS ABOUT THIS VERY THING.

Sierra Lima

Eric Frye

Been a patient for over a year now. Doctors are awesome but all and I mean all office workers there need to be fired! No one answers the phone when you call, they are rude and act like you are bothering them when you are there trying to get help. I like my doctor there, but I will be changing because the office staff is horrible

Michael Kiriakos

Mad

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Front office is inconsiderate of patients needs to relay a message in a timely manner (have had issues with in terms of prescription questions/concerns) and scheduling appointments is a nightmare. My doctor left and I was told that they had an agreement where they could no longer take his patients but when I asked about other psychiatrists in town, seeing as I did not want to continue being my old doctor's patient and since they wouldn't take me I would have to find another, I was told and I quote "I don't know any."

Larry

Extremely unhelpful front office. Seem more about money than patient health. Quite a shame as Doctors might be really good, will never know...

Adam Murphy

This place has gone to hell since Dr. Nawar left. I've had several bad experiences with rude staff at the front desk, and Dr. Brock doesn't give a lick about his patients. Luckily I found out Dr. Nawar has gone out on her own and is seeing patients again.

Zak Craig

Office Staff: I called and left a voicemail asking to schedule an appointment with Gina Farrell. That voicemail was returned within 24 hours, and I was put on the schedule. They have been friendly say Day 1. Appointment Rescheduling: I knew I needed to reschedule, a little more last minute than I would like. I called, they found another open slot, and we were able to reschedule. Again, just as friendly as before. Psychiatrist: I met with Gina Farrell a number of times. She was always attentive to my needs, let me talk, asked the probing questions, and left me with homework. I would recommend her to anyone.

Danita Owens

I want to start by saying this is a psychiatrist office. They do not need to know the in-depth issues you may have. Give them symptoms and maybe your triggers so they can see what categories you are to diagnose. Tell them at your worst what triggered you, at your best tell them how often you feel good or bad. And physical symptoms and their mental triggers. A psychologist is what some of you may have thought you were going to, it’s not. That being said, the people here are lacking people skills. They are very robotic. It rubs me the wrong way but I choose to just let it go so we can all help me get to a place of stability. I hope you have a place of stability where you are strong enough to let the medications go and be healed.
