REVIEWS OF Carolina Complete Psychiatry IN South Carolina

Anne Patterson

She really takes time with her patients. I’ve never felt intimidated or anxious around her! I haven’t wanted to go to anyone else, she’s awesome!

Seems this is a new group and my pediatrician gave it to me because I wanted my child seen very quickly. I had to filter through a long message but they never called me back. Another clinic called me back within a couple of hours and I have an appointment in 3 days. I will report this back to my pediatrician. So far, I'm not impressed. I don't think they understand the urgency of a mental health issue with an adolescent about to start school. I'm out.

I moved back to Charlotte a couple years ago and was concerned about finding a new practice considering my doctor in Charleston had been such a blessing. I finally decided on this practice and I am so thankful I did. Rachel has been nothing short of fantastic in listening to me and my past as well as my current life situations. The anxiety of finding a wonderful doctor in Charlotte is totally gone and I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone who is currently struggling. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

Carolina Complete Psychiatry is one of the best psychiatry practices in the Charlotte area! They are competent and kind, a great combination. Rachel goes above and beyond for her patients. I refer to her often to help my clients.

David Sanchez

As a provider it is important for me to send my patients to another provider that can do professional work, in a timely and courteous manner. I highly recommend Complete Psychiatry due to those qualities. The number one reason I would recommend this practice is that they can also schedule their patients quickly with flexible hours.

Gladys Cheney

I highly recommend Carolina Complete Psychiatry. From the start I have been well taken care of. Cassie the office manager is easy going and helps calm the first time nerves. Both Dr. Rachel and Dr. Lindsey are easy get along with and are down to earth. They spend ample time with their patients and ensure that all questions have been answered. They are quick to answer after hours questions. The location is convenient and there is plenty of parking.

Thea Silva de Souza, Ph.D.

You are lucky to find a practitioner like Rachel Holzhauer and her team. She is not only professional but truly cares and practices with the patient's best interests at heart. She is a pleasure to coordinate care with and a PA I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone in need!

Rachel is a wonderful Psychiatrist. She cares about the patient and what they are going through. Unlike most mental health care professionals in my own personal experiences, she isn't in it for the money. She genuinely wants to make sure you are doing well. She is lighthearted and has an amazing staff. Very thorough and flexible, as well as easy to talk to.

This is the worst clinic I've ever been in my life! I checked an appointment for yesterday, I arrived exactly at the scheduled time, because unfortunately because of traffic I was not able to arrive with 15 minutes before as they request by email. The secretary was extremely rude and put me up to pay $ 100 fine and query canceled! The consultation is already expensive and lasts for 1 hour and the questionnaire that would have to answered are questions in general made by the doctor and I requested with courtesy to do with the doctor inside the room. The secretary ignored me and immediately asked me to pay for the fine. Neither by email nor by phone has the information regarding this fine for this reason, just by not attending the consultation. What if I was suicidal? Or schismophrenic? The problem is not the cancellation or the fine, the problem was the lack of humanity with the patient since we are talking about a psychiatric clinic! My husband called the clinic after a few minutes requesting the money back (how told before, money is not the problem, thank God can pay for this and we respect the rules!) and complaining about the lack of education of the secretary and the doctor didn't say SORRY! I have chronic bulimia and yesterday I came back to my house extremely frustrated and hopeless. I am very upset and disappointed and I really do not recommend this establishment.

I am in shock this practice has not been shut down. So unprofessional. Two years ago they put me on an extremely addictive medicine without informing me of its addictive qualities. This same medicine made me very irritable. When I asked the doctor to switch medications due to this side effect I was experiencing her response was “ Are you sure your naturally irritable” I was in shock. TO ADD TO THIS. ( no idea why I did not switch doctors after these initial experiences) This past year my doctor Broke PETA laws by sharing my personal information infront of other patients in the lobby. When I comfronted them with my concerns I was told that they would no longer work with me because of my use of Marijuana. (I live in California but my parents live in Charlotte and come here for the holidays which is why I went to complete Psychistry in Charlotte. THIS IS AFTER I HAD BEEN GOING TO THEM FOR THREE YEARS. I was completely open to them about my use of marijuana since I initially became a patient of theirs and they were well aware of my marijuana use the whole time. DO NOT RECCOMEND FOR ANYONE STRUGGLING WITH MENTAL HEALTH or anyone that suffers from ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, PTSD, OCD etc.

I have never left a negative review, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend Carolina Complete Psychiatry. As family of a patient, we have experienced a high degree of judgment as well as a surprising lack of compassion from both provider and staff right from the start. It is difficult to get past the front desk staff to receive answers to either medical or administrative questions from your provider. On several occasions the staff has said, "I know from experience this is what the provider would say", even if you ask specifically that the provider be consulted or left a message on a matter of importance--not acceptable. In our experience there is a much stronger emphasis on financial obligation than patient care. I can't say if this is true for all of the providers at this practice, but our experience has not been positive. Note: I notice several reviews refer to the providers as doctors or psychiatrists. According to the CCP website, all of the providers are PA -Cs. The office did confirm this when asked, but in my experience it didn't come up until I asked. It seems like it should be made clear to all patients prior to their first visit. I would think as a matter of transparency the office would be responding to reviews when possible to clarify that the providers are physician's assistants when they are referred to as psychiatrists. You certainly won't be able to tell from the costs!

Rachel and her staff at Carolina Completr Psychiatry are extremely professional, responsive and knowledgeable about mental health treatment. We refer to her often and have gotten excellent feedback about her and the practice. Highly recommend her to clients.

I hate leaving negative reviews but I’m writing in hopes of saving someone else a lot of money and hardship. I was a patient at CCP for about a year and thought for a long time that I was in good hands. Boy was I wrong. The doctors at the practice are “adders” - I was never given a formal diagnosis but my meds were continuously changed or they would add something new to what I was already taking. I have taken clonazepam for 6+ years now (except for during my pregnancies) and when I admitted to drinking alcohol one time, the doctor completely cut me off of the clonazepam. Not only is that dangerous, but it’s also completely wrong. So if you have a drink at ALL, you will have a med like clonazepam taken from you. They preach that honesty is their policy but when I got honest, I was stripped from my meds. It took me finding an amazing doctor to realize just how awful my experience at CCP was. If you have insurance, find someone in network and don’t waste $120 a visit on doctors that don’t give you complete care. (Also, if you’re 10 minutes late for an appointment or call to reschedule within 24 hours they immediately charge you $100 fee without letting you know.)

Tara Hubara

My son and I both see practitioners at CCP. Finding quality mental healthcare is not an easy task, and I am so relieved to have found somewhere that helps us both manage our care. Rachael got on my son's level and left him feeling COMFORTABLE talking about his symptoms (this has not been easy with past experiences). For the first time, he is looking at getting help through a positive lens. Kirsten was kind and sympathetic with me, and listened in a way that allowed me to speak freely and feel confident about my treatment. Mental health concerns are tough, and we have a lot of it in our genetics, so it's imperative to find the right treatment. The office manager is super organized, explains policies clearly and concisely (a must for running any medical office), and is pleasant to communicate with. Thank you CCP for being a patient-centered facility!
