REVIEWS OF Arnold F. Negrin Psychiatry IN South Carolina

Best Phsyciatrist and Staff hands down! Other reviewers complain about the wait time, that is give or take dependent on many factors. This is a Phsyciatrist office, and sometimes clients need to be seen because they may be having a phyciactric emergency. It’s nice to know that if my day is going horrible, I have a doctor that will see me and staff that do their best to squeeze me in their tight availability. You never know what a person may be going through, so be patient, that could be you one day. When you have a Doctor as great as this one, expect popularity, expect having to wait a little later sometimes, but totally worth it! Thank you Dr Negrin & staff, you have made my life take a 360 turn in a year!!!

Dr. Negrin is by far the best psychiatrist I've seen on a regular basis in 20 years and I've seen 7 in that time period. He listens well, has adjusted my medication accordingly when needed, and has helped keep my Bipolar I Disorder regulated and manageable. Dr. Negrin is very direct and to the point, very professional, and has a very serious, somewhat stern, but caring manner. I found him to be quite comforting, but, more importantly, he takes care of business when the medication needs tweaking. Dr. Negrin has an excellent office staff and office environment as well. In addition, I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes in the waiting room and I've never had any trouble with making appointments.

Dr. Negrin is by far the most thorough and up front psychiatrist I’ve ever known. He truly listens to you and genuinely cares about what’s going on in your life. He specializes in children, too. Every time I go in there, there are kids of all ages. He’s extremely smart and can almost immediately tell when something isn’t right, or in other words, “off” when he sees you on your visits monthly. I’ve been going to him for over two years now and could not be more pleased with his work. His business is thriving so well, he actually had to relocate to a bigger building not far from his last one, but also had to hire on more nurses and other staff to compensate for it. Highly recommending him for every persons needs. He takes Tricare insurance and other providers as well. Excellent job Doc! And thank you for giving me valuable advice and helping me every month I come to you. My hard times become easier to manage after we have our talks. The only downside to your place of business is that the wait times are considerably long for anyone on many days. It’s hit or miss with my apptmt’s each month I come, but I have noticed that right after lunch is over, it seems to be the best time to come to be seen faster.

This 5 star review is based solely on my experience with Dr. Negrin and Ms Lindsey. I have been a patient of Dr. Negrin for nearly 7 years and he has truly changed my life. The addition of Ms. Lindsey (I apologize for not knowing her official title) has changed his practice. Dr. Negrin and Ms. Lindsey truly have patient care as their core of daily operations and it shows through in every way. Yes the wait times can be long but they have vastly improved over the last 7 years. Know going in that your wait time could be a little long and plan accordingly. I make my appointments in the afternoon and don't schedule anything afterwards. I promise the results Dr. Negrin can provide are worth every wait. The office staff is a struggle on every aspect. Not answering the phones, not billing the right insurance, unprofessional - I could go on and on. At my last appointment, I brought up these concerns to Dr. Negrin himself. He was shocked at my statements and vowed to make a difference. He had no idea what was going on out front as his focus is patient care. Once he was made aware, by a long time patient, I expect there will be changes made to how that office staff operates.

Dr. Negrin and his office staff are completely incompetent. He did not write my daughter's prescription correctly and pharmacy contacted Dr.Negrin and he refused to correct the prescription and told the pharmacy that his office would call me to schedule an appointment. The office never contacted me and it's been over a week. My daughter is out of medication and this doctor does not care. Why should I pay another copay because Dr.Negrin made a mistake. When calling the office to schedule, nobody answers the phone. I have to go on my lunch break and schedule the appointment in person. The office could not verify the insurance correctly and luckily I work for a medical practice and was able to do what this office could not do. Don't bother with this practice, not worth the stress and headache!

Geri Sanders

Wait times are long but Appointment quality is vastly superior to any other I have ever had with a psychiatrist. I have never felt rushed, insignificant or left with any unanswered questions or concerns.

Hannah Lo

Wait times are extremely long. Expect not to be seen for at least an hour past your scheduled appointment.

As an office manager myself I always say a doctor can only be as good as his office staff reflects. This review has nothing to do with Dr Negrin. He could be the best physician ever but I will never know because when trying to make an appointment for my 15 year old son after not getting a call back for several days, the lady on the phone (in a very unprofessional manner) tells me she needs my child social security number to make an appointment or she will “get in trouble.” I explained to her that I didn’t know his SSN offhand and I was not home at the moment to look it up but I had all other demographic information including his medical insurance numbers but she persisted that she would get in trouble so she would not make the appointment without it. After I politely told her I would not want anyone to be in trouble she rudely say “okay then” and hung up. I’m pretty certain you cannot require ones social security number unless you’re doing a credit check. And my 15 year old has no credit to speak of.

I'm giving Dr. Negrin 5 stars because he has been a great doctor for my anxiety/depression/ADHD since middle school. Now a college graduate, I still go to him simply because he is very intelligent on medications. However, the office staff has to be the worst medical staff I have ever dealt with. I have seen staff come and go over the years, and for some reason, they all end up being terrible. Sometimes I feel like the front office window is treated like a McDonald's drive-thru. A "I don't care about you I'm just here to get paid" kind of way. There is one front office staffer that is very sweet, and the shorter brunette woman that schedules your next appointment is fantastic. Both of them are professional and courteous, but the rest? If I didn't have the privilege of getting to know Negrin, I would leave in a heartbeat. With that being said, if you are in search of actual unsolved questions with your diagnoses, Negrin is definitely the man to go to. But if you want customer service from the medical field and don't really care what the doctor specifies you do, go to a family practitioner. I would love to see Negrin's practice grow even more, I know it can. But having an incompetent McDonald's cashier call you up for a psychiatric appointment, for most patients, is far-fetched.

Please do your research before you make an appointment with Dr. Negrin. I had the worst experience with him and his staff today about a deductible that I knew nothing about because Dr. Negrin staff was sending my bill to unknown address. Dr. Negrin refused to see me because I couldn't pay a bill I never knew nothing about at the schedule appointment. I asked the staff why I'm being hold responsible for a mixed up on an address not to mention that Dr. Negrin office verified my insurance and made an copy of my drivers license with my correct address on it. I consistently repeated myself to Dr. Negrin's staff about their mixed up on my address but was handed an month prescription by one of his nurse practitioners and was told to pay the bill and call back for an appointment in a unprofessional manner. It made me sick to my stomach to be treated with no respect from Dr. Negrin and his staff.

Stephen Sykes

Great doctor the wait time is a little long but hey you got to think not many psychiatrist take insurance in Savannah so I don't mind the wait myself

Aimee Simone

He diagnosed me with anxiety upon meeting. He is good. He is beautiful.

Bryan Slagle

I had an 815 appointment time with Dr. Negrin for a first evaluation. I was there 13 minutes before the appointment and waited, and waited, and waited until after 915. When I went up to ask when I’d be called back because I am supposed to be at work...they told me that the doctor hadn’t shown up! I was not refunded the copay when I left to go back to work. I can’t imagine what would happen at a doctors office if I showed up to my appt over an hour late! Staff was very unprofessional as well.

I have been going to Arnold Negrin for over 10 years, he has my implicit trust. So, to people waiting for a couple hours, it really isn't any different at a general practitioner or surgeon, gynecologist, I could go on. I just want to say, sometimes I need to get in touch with a human. A human with TACT. Telling me to tell the doc I can't afford a medicine is plain rude, where is his nurse's people skills? Especially when on the med for 5 years, then oh you can't afford it, make an appointment. Not good business tactics and I will tell him next time I see him.

I had my first visit with Dr Negrin this morning. I've not been seen for my mental health issues in a year now since we moved here because I've been so busy taking care of my kids needs. I brought in copies of my stuff from my last doctor from North Carolina and he went over it and I explained that was the routine that worked for me and he had no issues giving me the same medication. He listened to all of my concerns and rambling and answered all my questions and explained everything throughly. It has been a long time I've walked out of an initial visit feeling comfortable and it happened this morning. I have a good feeling about Dr Negrin and his staff.

Worst ever! You can never reach them. They're rude. They do not care when you're having a crisis. They do not give you the right medicines or dosages. I have so many complaints but I'll leave it at this.

Emil Solano

Alex Zelasko

I have been a patient here for a couple years and the staff is rude/indifferent, they are nearly impossible to reach, and when you leave a message with the nurses, they never get back to you. I have been in situations where I have ran out of meds because my pharmacy was unable to reach them. Highly unprofessional and impersonal, not to mention dangerous for those of us who can not go without medication. Please go somewhere else if you want adequate psychiatric care.

I’m very happy with my experience at this office. Dr. Negrin is really cool (and his office is too!) The nurse practitioner I’ve met and the other staff are always very friendly. I haven’t had to wait too long after my appointment time to be seen and the one time my insurance needed information from them, it was received in a timely manner. The waiting room is really nice too but they need new books for the kids.

Dr Negrin is by far the best in Savannah and his office & clinical staff are excellent!! I would highly recommend this practice to anyone

The phone system is a mess. You can NEVER get anyone to answer the phone. I needed to reschedule an appointment once and called off & on ALL day. I finally went to their FB page, sent a private message to cancel the appointment and they responded within 30 mins. Why is no one answering the phones? Dr. Negrin is a nice enough guy, very personable. I do genuinely like him as a person. I saw Dr. Negrin for approximately 2 years. He never could get my medices right. Every time I would go in, they would write deteriorrating in my file based on my complaints. However, they would never switch my medicine, just up the dosages and add MORE medicines. I was on so many medicines, I had no clue what was going on. Which one was working? Which one was making me feel like a zombie? Which one was making me fat? Which one was making me sleep all the time? On and on and on... When I first started going, he put me on Klonopin for anxiety. I was on this for about 5 months. One day I went in and they had me fill out some paperwork I had never filled out before. My next visit, he abruptly stopped (not gradually) the Klonopin stating he couldn't give Benzos to a drinker as mixing alcohol and Benzos is a recipe for death. I was thoroughly confused. Not once, not ever, did I give him the impression that I was a drinker. Nothing in the new paperwork I filled out would have led him to believe I was a drinker either. After the Klonopin, I was on an antihistamine and beta blocker for anxiety for approximately a year and a half. They were always shocked to find out these meds weren't working for my anxiety. I wasn't even leaving my house at this point. I will say, he is a nice man and he does listen to your problems, he just does nothing to fix them. The entire time I was his patient, I was a depressed, anxious mess and never got anywhere with him.

Alysa Kaitlyn

Takes to long for waiting to be seen !! We didn’t even see Negrin we saw the nurse lady!!

Christie B

Dr. Negrin is great! However, the office is not sensitive to the needs of children with special needs. Wait times range from 1.5 to 2 hours. I called to speak with Office Manager regarding a simple miscommunication during an office visit and she hung up the phone on me. Office staff lacks sympathy and needs to go back to school in the area of customer service.

Janna Kennedy

Extremely long wait time

Evan GCA Student

Excellent physician, NP, nurses and office staff. Our family have gotten great care from them for many years.

Chad Toland

The lobby is nice, that's about it. The wait time is ridiculous. If an appointment is made for a certain time, I expect to be seen at least somewhat close to that time. Been sitting here for way too long.

Tried to make an appoitment , waited 10 mins then hung up ,

Excellent physican!! Takes time with you and is willing to listen to you about your own ideas. I have been seeing the nurse practitioner and she is very sweet and competent. Yes, there are time there are long waits. It is a doctor's office after all. Not everyone who walks in is a mentally stable and might need a little more time. I have been to two other mental health providers in Savannah and will never go back.

Ginny Lucovich

He's a really caring Doctor. He takes time to talk and we never feel rushed.. The wait times are long but it's with it.

Tim Browne

They took me off a medication I had been on for 8 years because I got caught with some weed. This could cause me physical harm. They do not care about you they only care about making money and protecting themselves.

Lila Garcia

I was a patient here for about a year, then I had to find someone else. During my time the staff was rude, and I always waited at least 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to see anyone. It suddenly became impossible to reach them over the phone or make an appointment. Never returned calls to either me or my pharmacy- I ran out of medication. PLEASE find someone else if you need recurring appointments and check ups, or have emergent needs for medication.

Trucking sucks

What a joke...wait 2 hours to walk in his offic3 for 5 mins while he writes prescription

Rebecca Dupree

Angie Tuck

We had an appt at 11:15, it is now 10 minutes to 1 and we JUST went back. Someone said Dr Negrin takes his time to talk to you? No we feel rushed whenever we come. Definitely will be looking for another dr. The wait time is ridiculous!! And you WILL feel rushed!

Carrie Hall

Dr.Negrin and his staff have been wonderful to our family!

Latrice Jones

Gail Swartz

Dr Negrin is a fantastic Doctor. He can diagnose you easily and usually has people out of his office in 15-20 min. He'll listen to your concerns and if you have even a small problem with treatment or medication he has an idea to fix it. The wait time is something, though: expect no less than 1.5-2 hours. Bring a book. Or three. Calling the office is also almost impossible. You're directed to the nurse, who is never at her phone, as she's always dealing with patients, and the voice mail promises she'll call you back the same day or the next. In my experience, don't expect a call back at all.

Bobbie A

Dr Negrin is good. The problem is getting through the waiting room to actually get to see him! I have been sitting here for an hour and a half and still waiting. Finally I asked at the counter when I would be seen, because I have watched several people who arrived after me go back, see the dr and leave! I was told that the Dr sees new patients in the morning and my apt was with the nurse practitioner and since she is not here, I have to wait! Um, thanks for letting me know ahead of time! All I need is a prescription refill!!

Stephanie Lewis

The front office staff is horrible. They do not inform you of how your first visit will go, they will schedule you on the wrong day and not disclose the time frame of your visit. For people who work with patients with anxiety, depression, ect they do not care at all. Do not waste your time with this doctor find someone who actually cares about his patients.

Erin Wright

The office won't call you back. Tried for TWO weeks, not exaggerating, to make an appointment. Press 1 for appointment and you get a voicemail. No one ever answers the phone. If you leave a message they WILL not call you back

Kyle W

Great people

Brendan o'connor

Negrin himself is a great doctor, but the systems he has in place are a little inefficient. I've been needing a Concerta refill since Friday and have only just now gotten a hold of someone and am completely out. Now I have to wait until tomorrow because he needs to actually see me before writing me a refill for a medication I have been taking for over ten years.

Bridget Taylor

Dr. Negrin is a great psychiatrist. However wait times are absurd. Expect to wait at least two hours minimum. Going to the doctor is practically an event that takes all day.

X X

I see by reviews the doctor is good.

Angie Tappley

I love dr Negrin and his staff.

Emily Morgan

He is very understanding and his entire staff is accommodating and sensitive to patients' needs. My only issue is the wait time. It's understandable, given the lack of psychiatrists in Savannah that accept insurance.

Chelee

He takes time to listen and ensure that all teaching is clearly understood. Good atmosphere

Ben Kahraman

Not great. Family member is a patient and the wait there is awful, often 45- 90 min. Ridiculous and disrespectful of people's time.

Tiffany Serrano

He's a great psychiatrist. Very understanding and helps in every way he can. Long waiting time though. It's worth it.

Pam Myers

FazBearPlayz Xtreme

Horrible office staff!!!!!!!!! Choose a different office if you can!!! !!!!!Rude and ugly office space, even the office manager!!!!!

Kelly Caufield

Excellent physician however it is impossible to get a nurse or somebody live on the phone. I leave voicemail messages and nobody returns your call when requesting a call back.

Ashley Vandaveer

I love Dr. Negrin but his staff is the worst. They never fill my prescriptions and when you call them they never call you back. Even Walgreens has been trying to get in touch with them and the people at Walgreens also said his office never returns phone calls and they hate dealing with his staff. So if you want to withdraw every month go to Negrin! Because you will never get your scripts unless you make an office visit every single month! They do everything in their power to make Getting your medicine the most complicated process ever.

Melanie Love

Dr. Negrin is a wonderful psychiatrist. He diagnosed me right, listens to me and understands what was going on in my life and what I needed to fix the problem. I recommend him to everyone. Great Great Doctor.
