It took 4 months for an appointment. From the FIRST phone call Dr. Betts and his "medical billing staff" as he calls them, KNEW I was on medicare. I was told this was not a problem and that they accept my insurance. I had two appointments before I was dropped from his practice. He sent me a short letter saying they dont accept medicare and he'd give me refills for 30 days.... I waited FOUR LONG MONTHS and they KNEW from the first phone call that i was on medicare. I paid my copays and thought i had a doctor that might be able to help. I was very wrong.
Dr. Betts prescribed new medications and increased dosage on others, then dropped me with a letter. I was honestly suicidal at the time and he knew this.
I feel he should have done the right thing and saw me one last time to see if I was stable on the new medication, explain the situation and maybe offer a referral if he knew of one... By his actions it seems that profit comes first.
I've never in my life given a bad review about a doctor. I am being 100% truthful. I dont have anything against him personally, he's pleasant and nice person, but as a doctor, in my opinion, from my experience, his office is disorganized...obviously or they wouldn't have taken a medicare patient.
