I just started a new job and do not have insurance so I went to OU Medicine Clinic. They accepted me into this clinic and I got an appointment fairly quickly (about a week out). When I had my appointment, I had a thorough visit and I was told I needed to have a biopsy....this is the first week of July. They finally made me an appointment for an ultrasound, not the biopsy. When I asked about it, they told me it was protocol to have an ultrasound first then they would make a call on the biopsy...fine. I had the ultrasound August 2. I never heard from anyone so I started my campaign of calling, trying to get someone to talk to me. Finally someone called me back and told me they'd been trying to reach me but my phone # was wrong in the computer (one digit off). They then scheduled the biopsy with me which was August 22. Here it is, August 29, one week later and again, I can't get a doctor on the phone for results. What in the world? I had good care on the days of my tests but it seems that if you're not standing right in front of them, they don't really care. Bottom line - when I get insurance next month, I WILL get another doctor/hospital - one that cares about me!

Been here since 7am sitting in a room waiting on results it is now 4:30pm the wait time is ridiculous. I 've literally watched patients come and go and I'm still shoved in a corner

Please don't go here if u have been in a car wreck. They have sent me to collections twice now without warning. Both were from a car wreck. And while I was trying to get them paid for a 2 wrecks that weren't my fault they sent me to collections.

in 1977 i had a bad experience with the hospital. i was seven years old. i was separated from my grandparents. i saw the leaving . i was screaming for help . people who worked in the hospital grabbed me, and would not let me go till my grandparents were gone. then i fell to the floor crying. not understanding what was happening to me..to me it was , and is child abuse. done by a hospital for children. it felt like seven days of hell.

We are not from this area but brought here as my mom had to have a major surgery that was only done here. With the exception of a few staff members (and they were travelers) the incompetence of the nursing and ancillary staff left my family and I speechless. We provided 80% of my mom's nursing care (when nursing staff happened to come in they did not offer to help, just asked us if we needed anything such as more towels or rags) as far as cleaning her, taking her to the bathroom, changing her linens, taking out the trash, and numerous occasions mopping the floor ourselves as we only saw housekeeping maybe 5 times during our 13 day stay and that's only when we complained and even then they just took out the trash, nothing more. When we mopped the floor the towel was literally black from dirt when we were done. When speaking with house keeping management their dress was sloppy and unkept as was most of the staff. Truly the filth alone was astounding. We know that a clean environment helps reduce infection and when you have a patient whose immune system is already compromised, a dirty environment increases the risk for infections as well as other hospital aquired diseases of which my mom had two. When we inquired about it we were told that housekeeping was contracted out and not their problem. No one worked together as a team and it reflected in patient care, some of the worst I have ever seen. We were uninformed about all aspects of my mom's care, test results and procedures. When we asked about it, the standard answer was we would need to speak to this or that person and when that person came along we were again passed off to someone else. I work at one of OK best rated hospitals and this felt like we stepped back 70 years in regards to the standards of care set by the hospital and carried out by its staff members. I am honestly surprised that they are still open and operating considering what we saw. I will never bring any member of my family back here under any circumstances. What's sad is this is a teaching hospital and this is the kind of care they are teaching. When we were finally discharged, all of us that came with my mom were sick. It's been 6 days and I'm still sick.

These are the worse nurses I have ever encountered. They do not care about the patients in the least. They are always late with medicines and if you ask about receiving it then it is later. When you request something they say ok I will get or do that in a few minutes and then never come back. Furthermore, this hospital is dirty everywhere. After more than 2 days we had to request 3 times that the overflowing trash cans be emptied. Do not come here!

I took my son with glass in his side. It had been in there for four months. They got him in quickly and got it out. Everyone was so helpful and friendly.

therealvegan runner

The emergency room is a third world country they had pretty good drugs the Cardiology Department and the pastor building is horrible the doctor told me not to eat a vegan diet what is wrong with that man he obviously does not know nothing about health he should be embarrassed to even have a degree

Overall surgery went amazing. Recovery took way too long because it took forever to get a room.. first set of nurses were complete garbage in med surge floor. One wouldn’t help me at all use the bathroom. She refused. The woman that did put it under then took off. I was literally yelling for someone. She also moved my nurse call button so I couldn’t call. The next set of nurses were older wiser and amazing. I also had a nurse with a eyebrow piercing I’m not sure her name but she was great too. My last nurse was Amber. She mentioned she was a new nurse. She did s better job then I had Seen. Attentive, caring and sweet. She also flushed my ivs which no one had done from weds to Monday.

victoria marzette

Been here for 8 hours and they still not done

Josh Hunt

We had Jessica at the ER and she was amazing with our son who needed to get glue on his chin for biting his lip pretty bad. She really knew how to be with kids! She has my son laughing and explained everything as she was doing it. We also were taken back immediately and did not have to wait at all. Thank you!

There needs to be an option for 0 stars, because this hospital does not even deserve one. I was so upset to visit my cousin who is at a very serious stage of cancer at the moment. Just walking into the hospital it looks like it is ready to close. It is dirty and there is trash everywhere as if housekeeping is non existent there. I wish I had taken more pictures besides the one attached. This here is just the beginning of my complaints. I will say that the nurse and the social worker at the time I was there were great, but the rest of the staff were terrible. The doctors were clueless to my cousin's treatment or situation in general. They wanted to discharge her without any home care instructions or concern of her state. The oncologist's (Joan L Walker, MD) bedside manner was terrible. If it wasn't for my cousin asking the doctors to actually look at her wound, they would have not and even then they barely got close to her. I truly do not understand how she is rated so highly or even considered "one of the best" basically in the area since there isn't anything else in the area. The children section of the hospital seemed nicer but the main hospital is a dirty, old, empty hospital. I pray my cousin or anyone I know never has to return to such a disgraceful place.

O.U. Medical Center is a amazing hospital. Dr. Joan Walker and her team we're phenomenal. I recommend this hospital and Dr. Walker for your medical needs, they are caring, confident and very professional! Thank you O.U. Medical and Dr. Joan Walker and your entire team for taking excellent care of me.

I was transferred to OU Medical Center on the scariest day of my life. Three weeks after my back surgery at Norman Regional hospital, I woke up unable to even stand up, let alone walk. I had to drag myself to my phone to call an ambulance. Norman Regional didn't have a spine doctor available, so I had an MRI at Midwest Regional hospital and was sent to OU. They're known for their orthopedic department, so I had high hopes. Three different orthopedic surgeons came and talked to me and told me I didn't need surgery. The main doctor only popped in briefly a couple times. They never tried to get my pain under control. I had to urinate in a bed pan the whole time I was there. When I got my body swelling down I was finally able to take a few steps before having to sit and rest. It was the most humiliating experience of my life. There wrote me a script of pain pills and told me to go back to see my surgeon. Once I got to him I had surgery the next day. I had to make it 4 more days in excruciating pain. I'm 27 years old. My left leg is still asleep below the knee. The physicians at OU Medical Center didn't try to help me. I don't understand why they even had me transferred up there. I can assure you I will NEVER return to that hospital.

Tami Emory

The staff was very nice and helpful. My surgeon did what other doctors said could not be done, my surgeon was Dr Gannon

They suck, they butchered up my surgery and can't do anything right I wouldn't take my dog here!

A TOTAL NIGHTMARE! It should be a NEGATIVE 10. Completely incompetent staff. Nine days in the hospital unable to get out of bed and only 1 bath. Sheets do not get changed and leave you on the bedpan for hours. My friend left the hospital with wounds that the dressing had never been changed and is now infected and may need surgery for debridement. Should never have been necessary. Do not use this hospital ever!

Paul Clark

I have been to some wonderful hospitals in my life. This is NOT one of them. Whereas other providers will bend over backwards to work with your insurance and get your medical care covered, OU Med is an unintelligible mess of tax ID numbers and separate providers, none of whom are willing to work with you, with each other, or with your insurance. That means more money for them and unpredictable, unexpected expenses for you. OU Med is the only hospital in the country where I have received a $500 bill for routine x-rays that are supposed to be covered at 100%, and all because I crossed some invisible line into what OU deemed a "separate entity" as I walked down the hall. Unreal. If you decide to seek care here, good luck. Bring your wallet.

My 86 year old mother arrived the ER on the night of July 23 do to a car accident she had a broken right leg and broken nose the surgery in her nose went well I think and the follow through with the leg went well. My mother has some dementia and could not put weight on her leg. 5th floor trauma let my mother lay in potty and poop until her bottom was unreal raw my family stayed with her for long hours trying to keep something like this from happening it took me talking with hospital admin three times before they checked her every hour to get this dried up...now she needs skilled nursing and they are trying to put any place just to get rid of her this is a nightmare hospital her room has been dirty alot and they drop stuff on floor and try to still use it. Nurses on trauma floor try to get you to doctor your loved one

Carla Olmos

Worst experience of my life. The emergency room service was terrible. The wait is ridiculous. Waited an hour after I checked in to get my name called then was asked to go back into the main waiting room to be called for labs. After another hour I did the labs and then was asked to go into another waiting room i sat in a room with a few other patients who looked miserable. I couldn't stay any longer it was cold and none of the staff was paying attention to the patients.

James w Cummings jr

Couldn't get house clean to clean the critical care waiting area once a day that all restroom got dirty call house keeping five time still could get it clean.no towel to wipe your hands with.

Athenia Cato

I was in a car accident while visiting from out of state, and while the staff was nice enough, I have encountered nothing but problems since. I was turned over to two collections agencies even though I never once received a bill! Apparently, OU Medical Center does not give billing information, like address and medical insurance, to the places needing to bill you. I gave them everything they needed, but they didn't pass the information on to the people that work from their hospital. As a result, my credit rating gets dinged through no fault of my own. It's a wonder they manage to keep their doors open.

Rolando Torres

It was not the best service. They also would not let me interpret for my mother, who is a Spanish speaker. They had their own interpreters, but they did not translate accurately. It's not very comforting when you're talking about platelet count and you are told the wrong number, is it?

Lynn Haun

My father was there for a procedure at 7:30. It was not done until noon. There was an emergency so that is ok they did not feed him until 4:00 PM and the was just a sandwich and chips. (After he threatened to leave to get something to eat) He gets to his room at 6:30 calls for dinner and never got it. If you take a loved one in bring them food.

Janell Pirtle

I was admitted thru the ER for a rare skin disease and found their team of research doctors top notch, the nurses were attentive and caring, and the chaplain very encouraging. Thank you all!!

chris clements

Ran labs on me twice and x rays. Been at this for 2 weeks now and I've got no answers. I just keep getting passed on down the line from specialist to specialists. I've missed work and valuable time with family. Just a simple follow up call would've been nice.

Donald Fuller

AMAZING TEAM! My son had a cycle accident today and the entire team, from chaplain to receiving to med team were world class!! My son is ok. Huge shout out to all who helped him (us) today!!!

Worst experience ever! My husband has pancreatic cancer. We went to the emergency room due to a fever! The place was filthy! Puke on the walls, food on the floor, poor conditions. He waited 10 hrs for a room. They finally moved him to a holding area with other cancer patients. There he sat for 8 more hours! People throwing up around him ! Finally got a room but it was on the 6th floor where prisoners go! The room was dirty, air didn't work, no soap, shampoo, towels anything! It was way worse than the VA! I'm totally disgusted by this facility! The only reason we went there was because his doctors are OU physicians! The bright spot was the nurses were very good!

gary brown

Ou Children's hospital is the worst hospital ever would not recommend this place to anyone they do not know what they are doing. And they sure do love to take there time and talk to each other instead of taking care of the patients.

Marylee Palafox

Patient caregivers and compassionate staff, thank you

Ronees taylor wedding

Not very clean and nursing staff never comes to check on you only when you ask and then it takes about 3 hours

At the hospital with my oldest sister her brain and kidneys stopped functioning due to a drug overdose, she's been battling this demon for most of her adult life, the staff is really great they are doing everything they can for her right now she's in dialysis for her kidneys her heart is @ 10% & has been for sometime now we're all praying she pulls thru this..

Yeah a great. Hospital. David

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible overall experience. If this is the way they are training the next generation of doctors and nurses, we are in for a worse healthcare system than we currently have in place- which is already pretty bad! The intake nurse was actually wonderful, so I hate that she is part of this review because she and the assistant intake nurse deserve 5 stars. We saw the doctor and 2 students when we first arrived. We were placed in a room, and then had a rotating door of different students and an occasional employee come in. When we touched our 'call nurse" button it would take FOREVER to get a response, if we even got one. This place takes 3 times as long to get you processed through than it should. If they would be efficient, they wouldn't have multiple people waiting on gurneys in the hallways. The doctor came into the room ONE time, promised he would be back "personally" and we NEVER saw him again. We finally got discharged 8 hours later. They sent us home with prescriptions that were written wrong (as explained by the filling pharmacy), and FORGOT TO SIGN THEM!!! Not signing them basically rendered them useless. You'd think they do this every day so should know what they're doing!!! Now we have been on the phone for over an hour trying to get this straightened out. We will likely be inconvenienced by having to go back to the ER and wait for them to fix their own screw-up- yet we are caught in the middle. Healthcare is terribly expensive, and insurance is a nightmare. And it's not even done with excellence. If you can go to another facility- do it.

I had my daughter there two years ago. I was treated poorly. My boyfriend at the time had to put my bed pan under me and clean me up. I end up with c diff and MRSA during my two week stay. I was shifted to different rooms. Last room I was in the ceiling was falling apart. Paint was peeling off walls and the room was hot. There was no air conditioning. There was a lot more that went on. When I was about to leave the hospital with my wound vac they didn't get me a wheel chair and I fail. My boyfriend at that time was bullied by a security guard and kicked out before I left. So he couldn't help me. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone who is having a baby. I was treated horribly.

While my doctors within the OU network are wonderful.....the entire scheduling, cancellation, rescheduling nightmare that occurs within this hospital system puts patients at risk. I was told a year ago I needed knee surgery. I am still in a scheduling nightmare with Family Medicine, OU Physicians and the Orthopedic clinic at Presbyterian Professional Building. By the time I get scheduled in one clinic.....the release forms in another clinic has expired. This mismash of haphazard scheduling has now delayed my surgery over a year. 3 cancelled and rescheduled appointments at Orthopedics’s Presbyterian Tower have added over nine months to getting my knee replacement surgery completed. So I moved outside the OU network for knee surgery and I cannot seem to get the required paperwork from OU to get the surgery done. I am beginning to wonder if these delays are intentional. Then I find out today that one of the reschedules was unnecessary BECAUSE the paperwork was actually in my file. The ineptitude is alarming. I have suffered in physical pain for an extra year because someone answering the phone cannot be bothered to do their job adequately and professionally.

Well Where Do I Start! 6th Floor!!!! When I came to visit My Mom she started off on how bad the weekday Nurses where Rude and Mean to her. She has to be feed by hand and they barely did that. But I have sat up here all weekend and ive noticed the Night Cre is alot more Attentive to all the patients. I'm sitting here in my moms room and can see the nurses station and one nurse has completely ignored one patient every time she rings for her she yells back at her that she will get to her when she can. Mocking her when she is in pain and laughing at her... And NOW she gets up apparently goes down to the cafeteria gets food and sits her ads back down. I can hear her patients beeper going of. And she picks up the phone and hangs up and said to other nurses. I don't care I'm tired of her..and eats.. If this was my mom this botch would be eating out of tubes. In on the 6th floor and 604 is my mom and the lady is 601 or 602.. So if you have a mom in here on this floor I would come check on her

I am 21 years old and have been with OU Medical System as a patient for about 4 years now. I have a moderate/severe heart problem (bicuspid aortic valve) which, if not taken care of now, can lead to more problems down the road (hence why I am receiving treatment for it). In saying this, I had an ECHO done at the Physicians building on 10th Street on July 13, 2017. All was okay until about 3-4 hours later the same day, when my doctor calls my family and pleaded with my mom to take me to this sorry excuse of an ER, and that it could NOT wait. He told us he set us up to go there for a CT scan as a precaution, as he did say the ECHO could have been a fluke and they would be expecting us. So I met up with my mom to take me to the ER, and once we got to the front of the parking lot we see 2 cars in front of us, waiting to get in to park. Why, you ask? Because of a useless parking arm that was BROKEN, it couldn't raise to get them in, even after the person in front took their ticket. The person in the booth tried to get it up, but couldn't. Eventually, they had to call their "Supervisor" (their professional job title for "maintenance guy") to see to the problem. Once he arrived, I noticed this was the same man who was working on what seemed to be the same problem as I arrived here last year for an ECHO. Seems that this maintenance guy is always here fixing this?!?! Anyway, after all of this, we finally get inside after parking to come up to the nurse with the computer at the front. After I told him my situation and why I arrived, with a clueless look he glared at me like I was an alien from outer space. I was then put into triage and here we are still trying to explain to the other nurses, they are again ALSO clueless as to why we came in, but at least willing to help me out for as much as they know. Eventually I come to the lab area where they had to put an IV in for the CT scan. They were trying to find a big vein in one of my arms (which for me personally is a challenge). They started in my left arm in two different spots, they failed. Then they got to a better vein in my right arm and put the needle in. After getting poked with a needle three different times, 1. I start passing out for about a few seconds, 2. convulse, 3. sweat like I never sweat before, 4. start getting nauseous, 5. barely puked. I was so drained I needed and begged for water to drink, and I got a little, but still wanted more. I also needed a wheelchair to get from the lab to the waiting area before we got to an individual room. I was then taken in for a small procedure before the CT scan, then taken back to my room. Later, I got the CT scan done and got sent back to my room while they looked at the results to see if there was truly anything abnormal to be concerned about. A lady comes out, then finally says everything came out normal, and then explained to us that they all thought from the ECHO that the aortic valve DISSECTED!!! However, she said you wouldn't use an ECHO to find this problem, but a CT SCAN!!!! There was NOTHING to be worried about, but based on the fact I have a heart problem, I can understand the concern; it isn't anything you wait on. From entering to leaving, this whole process could have gone much easier. I had to go to this hospital because my cardiologist is with OU. He is a nice, professional guy and everything, but this hospital doesn't do things effectively. We are going to hopefully see if we can switch to Oklahoma Heart Hospital (Mercy). Once that is done, we won't look back here.

Difficult to information for upcoming appointments. But, the medical and surgical staff were kind to my grandfather from pre-op through post-op.

Tessa Fowler

They ran out of my husband pain meds.

Kary PureDove Ruehlen

Went in at 2am because breathing was difficult. They looked at my chart and noticed I had asthma. They assumed that was what was bothering me. When I told them this didn’t feel like any asthma attack I had ever had, they didn’t seem to care. Instead of doing a chest X-ray or anything similar, they gave me a steroid pill and sent me on my way. I went to my primary a week later and I had full blown pneumonia. Way to drop the ball. Save yourself the trouble and go the 8 extra minutes to the INTEGRIS ER off of I-35.

Jfernando Tanchez

I was brought here from a different medical center and it appears to me that here they don't know or have a clue as to how to treat patients who are ill While I have been here waiting to be let go so I can go to Dallas for treatment at the parkland hospital because uo medical center really is lacking the people skills and proper medical care to treat patients who have serious medical conditions

Lyn R

From pass experience: my husband was there from 10 pm to 5 am and the ER Doctor did not tell us any information that we didn't already know ourselves. The OU Medical Center billed my husband's medicare insurance for approximately $700.00. Rip off. Doctor Harold Burkhart performs thoracic surgery (a tube that is connected by the Chest Wall so the fluid in the lungs will drain out) I called and spoke to a woman at Doctor Burkhart's office and she said that THORACIC Surgery could NOT be performed on my dying husband because Dr. Burkhart ONLY performs thoracic surgery on children. There needs to be Thoracic Surgeons that perform this procedure on Adults, to save lives, in OKC.

The worst experience ever. I have a titanium plate with screws that resemble wood deck screws, in my neck ti connect my c4 to my c7 and the Dr on duty tells me, they see nothing, after falling on a concrete floor, striking the back of my head and antagonizing the issues with my sciatic nerve, from my cerebellum to my toes. Yes , she said the cat scan showed nothing. Please, do not use this BoZoo Trauma Center, if you are concerned about your health!!!

Barb Taliferro

Spent 6.5 hours in OU ER last evening/night with a relative who was having severe abdominal pain. Relative seen a intern who did a guiac test then left the developer fluid sitting out on counter, thank god no children were around to drink it. Finally after relative started to walk out AMA the Dr. shows up and says " I don't know what's wrong with you, I didn't see anything on your CT scan. Not once did he listen to my relatives abdomen to see if he could hear bowel sounds or palpate his abdomen. No did he listen to him when he told them he has diverticulosis and recent hernia repair surgery. No diet education was done or here is a list of some GI Dr's to follow up with in your area or you need to follow up with your surgeon. My relative would of been better off going to a veterinarian, where they at least show compassion for their patients. As a nurse I was thoroughly disgusted with the care given. The ER bathroom are filthy, no soap in dispensers and broken toilet paper dispenser just let toilet paper roll out onto floor. I wouldn't recommend bringing anyone to this ER and if you want to cut down on your infection rate, try telling the nurses to wash their hands, not just use alcohol dispensers. They might have a great trauma center, but the rest sucks and if you are on Medicaid/Medicare you certainly won't get looked at very closely.

Kaydii Mac

Absolutely no regard for people with dietary needs. I was in the hospital over night for an infection. I have celiac disease (biopsy verified - 15 years ago). They kept ordering me regular food and then wondering why i wouldnt eat it (after I told them I couldnt because it would make me violently ill). THEN they sent in a "celiac specialist" to teach me about celiac disease. I ended up educating him on the topic (to add insult to injury- he sent me a bill

Dr. Cookson and his team took great care of my husband before and after his kidney surgery. After surgery he came out and explained what he did and recovery. The nurses were amazing and took great care of him.

Tonya Phelps/jennings

They saved my Grandaughters life after she was in a bad car accident. She is parolized from her waist down, one kidney, no splean, And much much more !!!! If it wasn't for OU I wouldn't have my Grandaughter!!!!!!!!!

Operation scheduled for 9:30 a.m. didn't happen until 1:45. After surgery there were no beds available 4 hours later. Many people waiting for rooms.

The doctors and staff are very professional and helpful. My husbands condition was taking care of imideately. The after surgery pain was managed very well. I would definitely recommend.

If I could give it 0 stars I would!! I HATE this hospital!! The Children’s hospital is AMAZING but the adult hospital SUCKS!! My dad kept being transferred from one floor to another, spent OVER 12 hours in the ER 8+ AFTER being admitted and waiting for a room! The care plan was inconsistent and no one really seemed to know what anyone else was doing. When he was discharged and transferred to rehab they LEFT his belongings so I had to go out of my way to make a trip up there to get things that they forgot to make sure he had before he left!! This is THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER

January 2016 I underwent a Liver Transplant. I have made a full recovery! With the wonderful donors "gift of life" and the profession and support of Dr. Anthony Sebastian, Dr. Harlan Wright and ALL the O/U Hospital Staff, I'm forever grateful. I'm confident and at ease with the education and support I've received and I'm enjoying the results of the process. It was worth it! I believe that Jesus Christ worked all these things together for my good. The process was not easy but, with the wonderful care and encouragement provided by O/U Medical Center today I'm celebrating life with all my family & friends. Richard Fallis

They almost killed me I am a first time mother im lucky to have survived this horrible hospital .I gave birth by csection I told them I want all professionals doing my surgery because it is serious I do not want no students messing with me or my baby i was already considered a ( high risk pregnancy) at the womans ou Medical Center Hospital and they had to open me back up after giving virth by csection because they didn't do a full instrument count tried to sue but no attorney in the state wanted to take the case because this is a government hospital they also threatened me and were mean to me and they called DHS on me and try to take my newborn baby after they did this to me as a threat while I was having to stay there an extra two weeks because I lost so much blood from having to be cut open again while they look for the instrument that they left in me the total surgery should have been very short cut me open and then sew me back up but they had to leave my stomach open a second time which caused me to lose extra blood out of my body so they could look for the instruments that they should have taken out in the first place

Cara Sanders

If I could give it zero stars I would. This place is terrible.

Mike Roy

I very very good felt they did a great job

Was very impressed with ICU cardiology staff they were amazing. The residents, physicians, nurses and cannot leave out the social workers! My father in law was in the best care we could ask for. We never worried about him when we left. And Amanda and Kami, social workers, were amazing on getting him transferred back to our home town, without a hitch. Great professional, compassionate care, no complaints on OU Medical Hospital.

I went to OU medical cause i thought i the experience would be better than Midwest City hospital but no it was the same. I know it takes hours to be at the hospital but how is it that y’all check my insurance first before providing service plus if i deny one prescription i was denied others that was offered. One nurse said well let’s see if we can get you something and thats when the doctor said she denied one so she can’t get anything. Just rest.. anyways i thought OU was the best but if I’m not feeling better I’ll go somewhere else.

Its a hit and miss

I had genital warts removed last Tuesday and now all my wounds are infected. Was sent home with nothing but pain meds. No antibiotics or anything else. I will not be coming back for future surgeries and suggest other people find somewhere else for their medical needs

Went earlier to be seem the triage area the nurse was very rude and i left went to St Anthony's and again much rudeness everywhere i go in Okc. All Doctor's and nurses act like they got free education for their career choice. They act like they work in the fast food resteraunt career. If your there 4 just a pay check, find another job. Plain and simple. A career is difrfrent from a job. Act like you want to be around people because u won't get far with ignorance that's 4 sure. I'm a person not a object u can just kick or throw away. Remeneber we have feelings and hurt that's why u have job's. But again you don't like people then find another career goal. Just sayin!!

OMG! This is a hospital people not Club Med! What is this about no shampoo or towels and they only gave me ice chips and no food!? Sick people go to hospitals you all sound like you need to be at The Hilton. You probably only received ice chips because of a medical reason you twit! These are medical professionals and I'm quite sure you weren't getting punished. For crying out loud this is crazy. OU medical has taken care of me since 2000 and has done a damn fine job of it! They have taken good care of many friends and family and we are all still here and doing well. We may not have gotten a sponge bath, massage and powder and a mint on our pillow but we did get excellent, compassionate, cutting edge care and still do. Give me a break and go wine at some other facility. Jeez...

LISA QUINLAN

I have a rare neuromuscular disease and I’ve visited OU med center 2x’s in the last couple of months having to be admitted to ICU for respiratory crisis. Having this condition is terrifying becuase it’s rare and so many medical professionals don’t even know how to treat it. So. My first trip to Neuro ICU was top of the line. The nurses were on point and I had zero complaints. There is a team of Neurologists that work together for my care. Here’s the kicker. For the first time in my adult life I’m without insurance. It’s temporary but can you imagine having a rare chronic illness with no insurance? They treated me no differently than if I had the best insurance. That speaks volumes to me.

Rogelio Vega

Good medical services

Jamie D.

Amazing. They are always very caring and thorough.

Mark

Took my wife in with extreme pain. The doctor asked questions and did not think any evaluation tools(x-ray, MRI,etc) were necessary and cost too much. . Suggested it might be arthritis. Subsequently found out it was a broken femur. More damage was sustained due to the time before we got a diagnosis. Would give a o or negative if possible.

Ralph Gragg

Got to ER at 6pm after being sent there from Stephenson cancer Institute. 7 hours later still not in a room.. No sense of urgency whatsoever...

Charlene Welden

My Aunt was just released from the 5th flr Ortho. They packed her stuff and moved her to the 1st floor hours before transport so no family was there to pack up her stuff. Once we arrived at the new facility we realized that a very expensive bottle of YL Frankincense was not in her personal belongings. This is very Sad bc she had been bragging on the nurses so much for taking care of her I'm not blaming a particular person but ppl do not let them pack your loved ones belongings bc something of value may be gone and they will say they can't "find" it even though you know it was right next to things that were not missed.

Emily Annerface

Absolutely awful! OU Medical Center is not a horrible place, we've come here often for the last two years! The ER on the other hand is HORRIBLE! We told the nurse beforehand that my sister is allergic to one of her antibiotics, she's been here before on the same medicine not even a month ago, they said Benadryl wasn't in her doctors order but they'd ask. Her nurse slowed the drop down, so thirty minutes later she said it was UNBEARABLE and they needed to stop the drip! They said they couldn't stop the drip unless the doctor said to, but they also couldn't get her Benadryl because the doctor wasn't responding. At this point she was COMPLETELY red, rashed out and itching with tears streaming down her face. No patient should have to sit through that and if you can't get ahold of your only floor doctor, maybe you should have two to correctly run your facility. It got to the point that we were ready to walk out and go to a different hospital.

Gucci Davenport

This is the dirtiest hospital I have ever been in in my life.

Charlotte Clapper

I would give 0 stars if I could, they literally let my father sit and starve all day while waiting for the Cath Lab to decide to work. The hospital was dirty, food was horrible and patient care was abusive. Shame on you OU Medical.

Cindy Akins

They lost my advance directive before surgery. Operating nurses did not know I had 2 bags of platelets 2 hrs before operation because it wasn't in my chart. Was told by Dr.,nurse and another that they had over medicated me in surgery. Reason why they would not give me pain meds until I couldn't breathe. Didn't do chest X-ray for hours and hours. When I asked for a consult they sent a Pastor, not a doctor. One ICU RN (who was not even assigned to me) sat on my bed when I was in the worst pain and said "Don't rat us out. We don't get mad, we get even". I still do not know why she said that but they did proceed to get even. Worse experience....I believe the Hospital almost killed me. Never again. Plus, the rooms are like closets and not clean.

m31570

Terrible ... The staff that works here just want your money ... They see you for about 10 min then they are ready for the next person ... They do not listen and they are all '' Residents '' that means they are in training ...

Marsha Lay

Excellent

One star not by choice! It would be negative five stars, if I had my way! My brother was taken there by ambulance due to a very deep cut that severed the muscle in his forearm. My family waited eagerly in the waiting room, like most family members do when something bad happens to their loved one. Every time one of us went up to the ER window to inquire about him, they didn’t seem to even know who he was. They’d say “we don’t have him in our system”. They eventually found him and said that they only have him in their system as a hand wound (which wasn’t even right). They told us that someone would be out shortly to give us an update. No one ever came! After four hours without knowing anything, his 16 year old daughter and I went to ask again. The nurse working the window was completely rude! She claimed that someone already came out and told his wife (which was not true) and that I needed to go ask her. So I went and got her and we all went up there. I was filming with my phone. She immediately began to be rude again and when she noticed I was filming, she told me to stop filming, that I didn’t have her permission. She immediately called for police! ALL WE WANTED, WAS TO KNOW HOW OUR LOVED ONE WAS!!!! Another nurse, by the name of Janell, came out after the police officer came out telling us to move away from the window. That nurse claimed to be the supervisor and apologized for no one telling us anything. I told her thanks for apologizing, but I would still like to file a formal complaint against the rude nurse at the window. She said that since she was the supervisor, that was her job and she would be doing that. I wasn’t buying that. I kept saying that I find it hard to believe that there was no place to file a written formal complaint. So she said that if I wanted, she would go get her supervisor. I told her that would be appreciated. Of course, no one ever came! This place is terrible! Oh! Did I forget to mention that everything in the waiting room was filthy! I truly hope everyone reads this and never has to go to this hospital!!

Threesa Mae

If you don't have a very serious illness, do not go to OU. They have too many patients, and people keep coming. The er is always packed! They treat people in hallways, chairs and sometimes standing room only. It took us 3 days of waiting in er to find a place for my mom. They use surgery rooms, storage rooms, just to keep patients coming. Looks like Greed to me.

Rick Jenkins

Most excellent attentive staff members. Kind Compassionate caring people. Genuinely caring concerned people. Longer than you might like wait times but when you're good at what you do People will flock to you. Thanks Shalom

Cassandra Joyce

My grandma just had surgery here yesterday they kept her over night and she went home for a little bit today and just earlier went back up there because urine and blood is leeking out of her back because she has a tube in her back trying to clear out kidney stones wich is what the survey was for and theses bumb mf's dident even look at her and nothing to see what was wrong they just sent her home and said it's fine because there is no urologist on site at the moment like are u kidding me this is how u treat ur patients I am so pissed off right now I wouldn't recommend this place to no one!

Bobby Lester

The hospital is always dirty especially on the weekend the housekeeping supervisor has told by numerous families nothing is being done housekeepers use the samemop head to clean every room in micu this is suppose to clean sanitary place yes I video it. Nothing was done. They really need to train these housekeepers the doctors are good .nurse need to be train on the 6th floor they lazy and hide from the patience or take their call light where they can't reach it .no clean elevators.

M R Noneya

Amazing trauma center with fantastic care.

Valerie Whitehead

Wonderful experience, my mother who is in her 60s , she had a severe head injury around 4am and the staff and doctors have done anything and everything to make this hard time as easy as possible

Dan Goble

If its really an emergency dont go there. They just dont care and show it. I waited for over 2 hours and left. Went to MWC medical center and was seen diagnosed and admitted with a full leg blood clot in less than 30 minutes.

April F.

Worst place to be a patient. No one tells you who they are or what they are going to do to you. They do not wipe equipment down before using it on you and they all wear their badges flipped around, so you cant read the names. All this being said and I work for a company within them, so I can not imagine how non-employee's are treated!

MARANDA NARVAEZ

My Dr took time out to explain things to me and act like she cares for her patient! Love her!. That why I drive 3 hours to see her !

Shannon Greene

My GP, OB-GYN and Neurologist are all at OU and I like them all! The staff is courteous and competent, there is never a long wait for an appointment and I like the central location of the clinics.

J. Brannon

The level of care provided by the staff at this hospital during the month of Dec. 2014 has been negligent at best. My family and I feel as if we have to plead and prior with nurses and doctors for care to be administered. The staff members also come across as being put-off that we would approach them as concerned family members of a patient and inquire about the steps being taken toward a path of recovery. To make matters worse, on multiple occasions I believe we have been fed outright lies. Two family members waited some 14 hours to be present when a neurologist was to come, after being promised twice that day he was "on his way." The next day my father was told that the neurologist came at midnight. When asked what his findings were the nurse stated that he left no notes and devised no plan of action. I can see it now - a neurologist along with the hospital CEO walking the halls at midnight, a convenient time to avoid family, checking on patients. And, if he really did come, in my view if he didn't do anything while he was there it doesn't count as a visit. I'm hoping things improve very quickly or we can get transferred to another facility in town.

Angi Thomas

If you value your life dont go here. You cant get scheduled for surgery. They dont care how much pain your in. My gallbladder is full of gallstones and I am in immense pain and have waited 2 weeks on the surgery clinic to call me for surgery. Have heard nothing. So I go in to the er yesterday and they did another ultrasound and said yes your gallbladder is full of stones and then drugged me up and sent me home only to call a surgery clinic that doesn't (wont) answer any calls and you have to leave a voicemail and no one will call you back.

robert bryan

Most of the doctors are foreign , and students, they don't know anything other than text book knowledge, I had my father hospitalized and it was a nightmare. You will have Indian doctors one after another coming giving different opinions but didn't know the root to the cause. Nurses don't attend to patients and this place is like a training facility for Indians and students. If you want to live, please go to a place where you can consult experienced doctors not the ones you find at OU. I thought of OU hospital better than this and will never step foot in this place and if you love your life or your relatives, don't bring them here for experiments. There were time I seriously thought I was in a hospital in a third world country , not in the USA.

Amber Hoover

Took family member and they made us feel like second class citizens. Put no effort into trying to figure out the issue. ER was completely disrespectful. Staff took blood but then let it in the room and never tested it. then sited in dscharge paperwork that labs indicated dehydratiom. how do they know!

Neil Cooley

The medical records staff is the most awful entity to deal with. 30 minute wait time and a full voicemail box makes it impossible to talk to a live human or even get a message for callback purposes. Very unprofessional and disorganized handling of medical record requests.

Amber Smiles

My seven year old had a stroke, and they make us wait. Told me to fill out paperwork in the window.. Might I add that nobody was freaking at and that shed call them and tell them. Nooone answerd the phone in the room......waited for ten minutes went and asked how long it would be she said awhile. Ok then is this really an emergency room!!!!!! NO its not my son couldn't even talk to me, walk, move his left arm he was showing all the signs of just having the stroke I just witnessed. This place is just the worst. Thanks for nothing but wasting precious timeof my sons signs of actually having a stroke. 10/10 will NOT COME BACK! WILL NOT RECOMMEND.

Gwendolyn Johnson

So sad when you're already worried about your loved one and the staff is absolutely rude and uncaring. Then to go down to the cafeteria to get food and the same treatment. I would NOT recommend taking your pet to this place. Waiting room was filthy. Employees standing around consumed with their phones. SMH... one person out of about seven asked if I needed help.

Jessica Tente

The staff is friendly, courteous, and competent. I had a good experience with the health care team every time I went. Highly recommendable.

Jack Standridge

Awesome Gift

Cassandra Castillo

They find any way to nickel and dime you if u request any type of paperwork even if you just need a copy! That will be $25 please, for one printout the only facility I've been to that does this. My son is diabetic I have no choice but to go there because they are the only peds diabetic center. And u never see the real doctor.

Tavia Perez

I had emergency tonsil bleed. I had excellent care. And fast and knowledgeable doctors. I always come here.

Breyana Nyree

OU is really close, and convenient since I don't have a car and I have family nearby. I went there (yesterday) because I had tonsillitis (Started bothering me late Sunday night) and the pail was unbearable. I went back somewhere quickly. While I was waiting for my I.V of fluids and antibiotics, the nurse (Named Ali) who was to give me the I.V sat in the room and talked to a med-student about how people kept coming to the er for "bullshit like sore throats" while I sat right outside the door. Then, when I finally did get into the room, he was extremely rude and rough with me as he drew blood and inserted my I.V. If I didn't feel as bad as I did, I would've waited until Saturday morning for my aunt to take me to Baptist. I'll make it a point to never go back to OU emergency room.

Gary Clark

Great people!

No greater torture device has ever been known to mankind than the rather loosely named "chair/recliner" that serves as bedside seating for those visiting sick loved ones in each room at OU Medical Center. I have to wonder if some furniture designer who is directly descendant from one of the architects of The Spanish Inquisition designed or perhaps chose these atrocities to be purchased and placed in each room hospital wide. I had spent the night at the bedside of a sick loved one. I wondered downstairs for fresh air during the night and noted the wooden bench setting outside the front entrance. Had it not been cold I would have seriously entertained the idea of catching a cat nap on the bench. The hard wooden bench would have been an upgrade in comfort! Otherwise, nursing, doctors and all staff were attentive, caring and prompt to see to patient needs.

Kait Martinez

Starting with the pros. Most of the nurses we encountered during our week and a half long stay were amazing! They had wonderful bedside manner and empathy for our situation. The ortho doctor, Dr. Brian “Chovo”, came to see us multiple time post-op to go over the procedures and expectations for recovery. The entire ortho staff, and the PT staff we encountered, were really amazing and caring. Our room was cleaned daily and thoroughly. Now for the cons. The construction is ungodly, makes everything confusing. Terrible parking availability. The nurses rotated so frequently that it felt like we were explaining our situation constantly to new people in order to keep them updated- which I feel like shouldn’t be the patient’s job to inform the nurses of medications. Any time the call button was pressed it took a few minutes before anyone answered, and a few more before anyone arrived in the room. Being as the patient was entirely dependent on others during his stay, this was extremely difficult on us. The cafeteria staff was very rude the entire time. During the stress of having a loved on in the hospital for over a week, managing an unfamiliar place was even more stressful because the staff barely spoke, and when they did it was as if serving us was an inconvenience to their day and conversations with fellow coworkers. There wasn’t a cafeteria member that treated me kindly. Overall we had a pretty okay experience medically. The ortho and PT staff were incredible, and our trauma nurses were always caring (especially Katie, Brenna and Audria)!

Stephanie Blackman

ICU nurses on the 2nd floor are extremely rude and not accommodating at all. Extremely disappointed. Critical care nurses and docs should be nurturing and understanding.

One Of The Worst Hospitals OU Told My Friend I Was In Police Custody After Having A Tooth Extraction Came Up To The Emergency Room Due To Having Trouble With Pain Due To Other Health Issues. My Friend Called Me To Tell Me What The Lady Said & She Vanished Into The Hospital So I Came Out To Find Out What Was The Problem In Check In & They Turned Me Down For Treatment & Treated Me As A Dope Fin. So Not Only Have A Law Been Broken This Is Not How You Treat A Patient That You Have Records Of Health Issues With..

Tre Cashroller

3Dr. Sidorov was excellent. As well as all e.r. staff and MRI EKG lumbar tap and 3 floor staff team.Thank You.God Bless you.

Tonya De Keyrel

The Best advice I can give you,. Go anyplace else but this hospital. Horrible care, the lack of competent staff nurses was substandard, and makes this old Nurse wonder what has happened to the profession that I spent 25 yrs of my life working, and precepting new nurses. The negtive outcome (with me there) advocating daily, an bringing attention to errors constantly, and still my mother died after 3 weeks the 1st weekshe did fine even after having a tumor removed from her brain, but died of lack of attention to new onset abdominal symptoms, that should have been diagnosed and treated immediately with a NG tube and for partial Small bowel obstruction, that was left inaccuratly diagnosed and treated as constipation, for weeks, while chemo therapy had also been strated further making her weaker, and leading to a full small bowel obstruction, but because it took 2 weeeks for them to diagnose, her she was so week that they told us she would survive surgery but not make it out of ICU, from complications . So my Mom, still of sound mind said, no take me home. I want to see and hug all my grandchildren and great grandchildren. I want to tell, everyone goodbye, and make sure they know they were my greatest treasure.

Casey Turner

Horrible place!!! As a medical professional this place is a sorry excuse for a hospital. Completely pathetic, no compassion and complacent doctors. It's all dollar signs in their eyes. I wouldn't take my worst enemy here. I'm ashamed that this place is in Oklahoma, would fit better in a third world country.

Amanda Haines

I would have been bettmer off going to Africa and risking getting Ebola than being in this hospital. There have been so many issues it makes my head hurt more trying to give details. Please don't use this hospital really please don't!!! They don't care about patients. They don't listen to patients. They do minimal to no pain control. It's really that bad at this hospital. I can relate to several of the bad reviews I have read about ou. People are not exaggerating it is truly dangerous at this hospital.

Misty Thurmond

Doctors don't visit with family about patient care and nurses don't provide adequate patient care.

Lawrence Ross

I appreciate that it's a teaching hospital. It's also a horrid place. A friend died from a staph infection contracted while there. With our first child, the Dr. at the time was affiliated with them and so our first born was delivered there. 24 hours and an unplanned c-section later.

Chris Hilton

Visited the E.R and my fiance was moved to a room after a brief wait . She was exhibiting flu like symptoms and shortness of breath . The E.R Dr. Gave her a breathing treatment then advised her that she would be given another after (half an hour or so) then the nurse in the room dropped half of a dose of steroids on the floor and stated that she was sorry and that she would go get two more from the Dr. Once she returned she advised that the Dr. Would not administer a replacement for the two that she dropped and stated "that's OK you don't need them anyway". (I personally don't understand why write a script for four pills then the nurse drops two half of the dose now she doesn't need them hmm) after a brief wait in the room the nurse comes in and advises her that she is going to sit and wait in the waiting room because they need her room . (Remember the extra breathing treatment ? Apparently that was like the meds. She didn't get them) so after aprox. A 30min. Wait in the waiting I contacted a staff member in the E.R and asked about her prognosis she stated that she had no idea and walked back into the main E.R area we followed . I then stood in the hall and asked everyone who walked by trying to get info on the situation . Finally the D.R came over to us and said were getting your discharge papers ready . I asked what is her diagnosis and he replied well it could be a number of things but we're getting a script of antibiotics for her and she will be fine. I asked if she could maybe get a injection of antibiotics and they refused. Then to add to a the frustration we had to wait an extended amount of time to get a parking voucher so we wouldn't have to pay for parking that they shouldn't charge for in the first place considering how high E.R bills are . I DO NO SUGGEST THAT ANYONE USES THIS HOSPITAL IT IS A WASTE OF TIME ANDROID MONEY

Jeff Estep

Krista and Staff took excellent care of my father Jack Estep while in the Trauma Center. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work, hope the kitchen gets finished soon..

Tiffany E

Horrid people

Jeffery Hess

Bonnie in the Neuro/ICU unit is absolutely PHENOMINAL !!!! Caring for my brother, always comes in trying to get him to respond to questions. I would rate her higher but 5 stars is as high as I can rate!

Zee H

This hospital needs a serious over haul in admin & nursing staff. My mother was brought into this hospital due to acute renal failure & had it not been for us moving her to a different hospital she probably would not have survived at all. They are uncooperative & refused to allow my mom to get her medical records, the doctor then had the nerve to get upset because we decided to move her. if I could give a negative rating i most definetly would....

T baby

They treat people badly because OU is a state hospital and no1 in trauma. They HAVE to take everyone. I had BCBS insurance and the doctor I was assigned walked in my room talking about how good of insurance I had. Lets just forget I'm sick as hell because you see it everyday. Dirt bag

Darin McDaniel

Otherwise nothing has changed For all the recent reviews as well later ... hospital still doesn’t meet expectations of care .. from urology doctor who came in with attitude and telling my daughter to deal with it Cause he acted if he was bothered by him being here and was told to leave .. from nurses who can’t read instructions about giving certain meds .. to 42 hrs in Er holding cell waiting for room ...just disgusted with overall care ... still here same old run around. ...starting to wonder if the type of health insurance makes a difference in doctors thought process

Terese Oliver

Can I give NEGATIVE STARS. So much to say but not enough space. From the ER to discharge it seemed like a circus. In the end, my dad went home without all prescriptions so my mother had to make the one hour drive back to the hospital to get them. The nurse blamed the doctors, doctors blamed nurse. Regardless, my mother treks the one hour drive back home only to find the pharmacy could not fill the incorrectly written scripts. My parents are in their 70's. I live out of state. Let me also mention this all occurred during rush hour. By the lack of response to other reviews, patients are not a priority.

Ryan Rattan

Family member was on the 5th Floor. After reading a lot of these reviews a lot of what is said is what I was going to talk about. Most of the nurses were friendly, you dont see them very often on the 5th floor they are to busy conversing with each other or on there phones. Have on complaint about a nurse on the 5th floor that gets off work at 6pm name Stephanie I think big kinda tall girl with glasses, she needs to learn how to talk to people. 74 year old man and 44 year old are grown adults she talks to people like there 5. This hospital does not offer any amenities to patients spouses ie coffee, food tray, etc. They do offer coffee, orange juice, apple juice, ice cream to staff members.. They delay specialist from coming and seeing you to extend your hospital stays to run Bill's up..

robert valderaz

I will say this employees need to realize we are the customer. We pay the Bills. In additional the speed limit is 25 mph not 50....I have seen uniformed doctors, nurses, employees, speed down posted 25 mph streets way above the posted speed limit. It this to get more er patients, as in accidents. I choose not to come here for the fact the speeders around this complex, they do not even slow down for people trying to cross, do they not have any type of police force to slow people down or does ou not allow their officers to ticket the speeding public or staff. This is shame full. At least at mercy health center they have a police for that will ticket speeders. And a friendlier staff and medical personel.

Jason B

Literally like a third world country, personnel is non helpful and act like it’s a inconvenience you’re there

Albert Strubhar

Top notch trauma care. Took care of my wife after she'd needed over 50 units of blood from a medical emergency. Quality care, great people and very good to work with on self-pay.

chuck riney

Absolutely worthless...they'd rather eat than help. Went in with swollen tonsils didn't give me anything for my pain wasn't asking for anything crazy maybe just some lidocaine or something didn't give me anything swab me for strep throat.. worthless most worthless medical team on the planet

Chris Yandell

medical staff drs and nurses are awesome, the nurse aids (cnas) absolutely suck, and I'm still a patient here

Jack Owens

Rude nursing. Just wasn’t happy at all

Auntie899 .

State of the art care, but the facility is showing its age. Nursing staff seems overworked and rather cold towards family members.

Jester Henriquez

Really, really dirty. Half of the doctors or nurses seem to care a lot. The other half don't even listen. The floor my mom is on has a single bathroom (there are also bathrooms in the patient rooms) and there were paper towels, toilet paper, urine all over the floor. Toilet wasn't flushed. Urine all over the seat. And someone had wiped giant boogers all over the walls that had obviously been there a long time. In addition there was a used bandage stuck to my moms bathroom wall when we got there. My dad waited a day to see if housekeeping would get it. They didn't. So gross

Anita Hamblin

If I could leave less than one star, I would. I was here as support for my sister who has a revision on a previous orthopedic surgery. From the moment we entered the building, things were not the way we had been told to expect. Not one single nurse on 5th floor had a clue what they were doing. They were condescending, phony and rude. The aides were no better. The only decent employees we ran into were food service. The entire place is an enormous joke of a hospital and I will absolutely never recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Jackie Newnam

99% of the time our care has been PERFECT! The other 1% was a one time situation. Amazing nurses in the Trauma ICU, wouldn't have trusted my father's care with anyone else.

lizeth hernandez

I came here May 6,2017 for severe pain what did they do nothing they did no ultrasounds nothing they just put some Ivy on me I waited for 5 hours and they didn't even listen to me when I begged them to do an ultrasound for my uterus because the pain was unbearable all one nurse told me was take it easy and take some Tylenol I got charged hundreds of dollars for nothing!!

Crystal Gaul

Incompetent, condescending staff. Treated me extremely poorly. Would not offer a different pain medicine after I told them I was allergic to morphine. Constantly downplayed my pain. Admitted for 5 days in extreme pain before finally suggesting surgery, yet charted that they offered surgery on day one (they absolutely did no such thing, in fact I was told surgery wasn't an option) Nursing staff incredibly rude and lazy, would not allow me to speak with doctor or supervisors after multiple requests, had throat surgery but refused to prescribe a non oral medication even though I physically could not swallow. Facility itself was run down and dirty. I worked at the VA for years and never saw or experienced anything as terrible as the way this hospital is run. Highly recommend going anywhere else if possible.

Charly S.

If I could give zero stars I would! This place was a dang joke and the employees were trained on what to say and could tell they were like robots. I was a hospital with a pic line, where I got pain meds every 3 hours, I had a feeding bag, I was well taken care of , i was on oxygen bc my oxygen levels were low and had heart monitors due to my heart rate being 124, and the nurses were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the surgery I needed, they couldn't do there. So, they started looking for places who could remove a tumor out of stomach and OU Med was one of the firsts to agree. So I was transported via ambulance 3 hours away to OU in OKC. I got there at midnight. The room was the smallest room I've ever seen in any hospital facility, even in a clinic..they have larger rooms. It was 87 degrees in my room, the heater was stuck on and no AC. The nurse talked like she was speaking from a theatrical paper. So here it is 6 am and still no vitals taken, not hooked up to an IV which is how I got meds and nutrition mentioned, no oxygen and hadn't been hooked up to my heart monitors. And aslo still no pain meds or even an ID bracelet. 7 am made me do a breathing treatment...why? No clue. 9 am made me prove to them I could walk so walked from bed to sink. They allowed me no food, no water, no ice chips, nothing. I finally got hooked up to an IV around 12..so 12 hours later. And they gave me 1 little percocet for pain.. when I was in an immense amount of pain and was on Dilaudid before. I finally had family come get me because it was a joke there. They told me I don't need surgery because the mass isn't harming me, even though I was doubled over in pain and crying and begged for pain meds. And the nurses are crap!!!!! Mine was always talking to the doctors and flirting constantly with them and smelled of so much cigarette smoke. Do not go there! It was a nightmare!!

I'm a kidney and Pancreas transplant paitent. I went here to the ER to find out why I was running a low fever with, light headed, and nausea. The waiting room is okay but not that clean neither is there second waiting room. The bathroom was dirty and there had been dried spilled blood on a cart inside the nurse station. The quality care from the Xray and Paramedic who drew my blood was better then the doctor and nurse.(That pic is not mine I don't know why it's showing up)
