Social worker Kristen is wonderful and cares about each patient. My son has easy access to phones where he can reach family. Unfortunately he's quiet and yet to speak to them so the Dr has decided he should be released. They allow patients to use phones but don't pay attention to their conversations. My son calls me saying all kinds of things. If a client won't speak to them in social or private settings, it is an obvious sign they prefer isolation have difficulty in social settings. My son thinks he's GOD and his caseworker put him in Haven because he told her in GRAPHIC calm detail how he wanted to harm someone and then kill himself. After being there a week, Haven thinks he's fine to go home. If harm comes to him after leaving, I plan to sue them. And GOD forbid he hurts someone else, I'm recommending that family sue as well.

This place is a complete scam. I came here a while ago just seeking someone to talk to like a therapist for the day and maybe the go home later on that evening and just receive some better materials on how to cope with my stressful family situation and school. I spoke with someone over the phone before I came in stay in that I can talk to somebody and I could just stay for one night and then I could just go home and that would be fine. so this was my very first time ever going to anything like this I went in there I had checked in and then I was told I could go home in the morning after I spoke with a therapist or counselor. so I'll go there and I ended up having to stay there for three days against my will until I create a petition and talked to several other people, then I was able to go home after three days after the workers knew I was not mentally unstable. They try to give me all this medication that I did not need and it was messing with my heart. I did not belong there I feel like these people are just taking any kind of patients so they can make some kind of money off of them it's a big rip-off I did not receive the proper help that I needed all they kept giving me was medication which I did not need. This was not a helpful place and they just want insurance money. They exploit people here. I recommend if you are going through something small in your life just having regular family issues like majority of us all have or just tire wolf School just go talk to a professional counselor don't go to no place like here will they will try to keep you against your will for insurance money.

Was in the facility for 3 days, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I never talked to anyone for the reason I was there, they started me on medicine and I went home. The nurses would laugh at patients. However, there was easy access to a phone whenever you wanted to make a phone call for however long you want and only a handful of nurses actually care about the patients and their job.

Kevin Trippett

Great to see they are active in the community.

Teresa Baker

Great hospital! So exciting to see all the changes, wonderful staff, great programming, so excited about the dual diansosis unit opening.

Kenny Freeman

I have brought patients there from other hospitals and always have a positive experience.Staff are friendly and helpful.

A few of the nurses were really rude. Two different nurses there said that if I cried I would stay there longer. Obviously I was depressed and should have had someone to talk to. You don't have anyone to talk to there especially not the doctor who spends like 30 seconds with you. She wasn't even my assigned doctor whom I never once saw. There was like one good tech there named Chelsea who actually cared about patients. Most of them had an attitude. I had one tech not even acknowledge me or look at me when I asked her questions. The food portions are very small, alot of people complained about that. I felt like I was in jail most of the time. The only good thing about the place was that they had a lot of groups that made the endless days pass a little quicker.

This place is scary,,, it's like something in between one who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The road to Wellsville.... Even the photos they have posted online are wrong there not of their facility... I'm how did jerks like this get away with it..

NEVER BRING YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! The staff here are completely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. There are only like between 3 & 4 staff members that were actually professional and caring. The social worker who was assigned to me (Dan A. ) he always had an attitude with me when I asked questions regarding my treatment...He called me Obsessive when all I was trying to do was get info on when I would be released. The MD/Psychiatrist who was assigned to me didn't spend the right amount of time talking to me, she spent about 3-4 minutes with me, and did the same for each patient she saw. The nurses stayed behind the station and laughed at the patients and made fun of them. I actually overheard one of the nurses say that " This patient is fat as hell" after that particular patient asked for his request of double portions at dinner to be respected. A lot of the staff ( Behavioral Health Techs) complained about having to help other patients. There is only 1 phone on the unit now for patients to use, because the staff didn't pay attention and let a patient put the phone in her jacket pocket and it got washed through the washing machine. Staff mocked patients, and overall the hospital just really sucks!! The food is also very poor and they give very small portions, and there are no snacks to snack on during the day...Only @ Assigned snack times which were 10 AM & 8 PM. The only thing that I was satisfied with was the fact that the doctor/psychiatrist found that my depakote levels were low, so she increased the dose of my depakote and that helped me to feel better. Other than that, I was NOT satisfied with my care AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

This place is a scam to charge insurance and a literal nightmare. If i can sue them I will, for false imprisonment, insurance fraud, pain and suffering and negligence. I got nothing out of my stay here; I only agreed and complied because it is the ONLY WAY They will let you out! Dr. Vishnapod is a CRIMINAL and most likely gets kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies. The nurses and BHTs are great though. Thanks Ms Darlene and Ms Beatrice.

NEVER TAKE A LOVED ONE HERE! My mother-in-law was here for 24hrs (only, because that's how long it took to get her moved) but during her time there, she was given no attention at all. She asked for water a d never received it, there was patients walking around naked, one while I was visiting her, there was a Male patient hitting another and screaming and yelling and no one to help, one patient got in bed with her in the middle of the night, she had to get up and get a worker, the other woman was sedated in me mothers bed and she was told not to disturb her... all while the workers sat behind a desk on their cell phones! DO YOUR JOB AND HELP PEOPLE!!! never, ever again!

My experience with Haven was extremely positive. They really took the time to work with me and my loved one to make sure we were happy with the care they provided. That was particularly important to me as I was having a hard time dealing with the behavior my loved was exhibiting.

Bill Hoying

Very caring staff!!

Veronica Johnson

They have no information on the condition of my daughter she calls me and starts crying so they make her hangup

This is by far the worst and least supportive/caring place I have had to be. The behavioral health techs (excluding Andrea, Amy, and Tana) were the rudest people I’ve met. The nurses keep telling you that you’re safe and you are NOT. During my 1 1/2 weeks there I was attacked in my sleep twice, had juice thrown in my face, and witnessed my roommate snort a white substance. The only positive experience I had was with the kind social workers, Carolyn and Shellie, Dr Vishnapud, and the activity ladies.

Alma Neer

As a recent patient I'd very much like to warn anybody else not to come here. The portions are small the groups are non existent the staff is disrespectful minus a few amazing members the rest should be fired they're not somewhere you should go unless you have no other options

Staff is caring and place is clean

My husband walked in of his own accord an has been sitting there doing nothing ever since. He has asked to come home but the Dr’s an social worker seems to have ignored his request. This place is awful, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The first physiatrists he saw has only been working there for 3 days! I’m really scared for my husband, this has been a terrible experience for both of us.

Staff was great to deal with

My mother has been there 16 dyas and they continously put clothes on her that are not hers. The clothes are too small and her self image is already shattered. Now she is refusing to eat because she thinks she is too fat. They put her in a pair of white pants that she couldnt even zip up and let her run around in them all day. Some they took my message of she doesnt eat meat to mean she is a vegetarian. I have told them for 14 days she wis not a vegatarian. Tonights meal consisted of macaroni salad, mash potatoes, bread, and some grilled vegatables. How hard is it to get a meal correct. We brought up Chickfila yesterday to tempt her to eat. I spoke with a nurse this morning and no info about that food had been transfered from one shift to the next. To say i am angry about the care and service at this hospital is putting it very mildly.

I would give a negitve if I could. This place is awful! I have seen someone brake their toe there, the staff lied to her about her xrays. When she got out she had to go to a bone specialist because of how badly broke it was! I was so sick and in so much pain ( I have chronic pain) then the nuse doug said buck up buttercup! When I was is so much pain I was crying so hard! They lie to you about when your getting out so you will flip out! The place is so dirty! The staff are the worse people I have ever met! I'm trying to get this place shut down!!!!!

They treated my sister like garbage. Stripped her of her clothing when coming in, had the door wide open the whole time she was naked being examined. This door was WIDE OPEN and EVERYONE in the dining roon could see her sobbing there naked. They had no clothing for her since they took her clothing away so they gave her a paper gown 2 sizes too small. Labeled her a suicide risk even though she was very clear, as was I that she was there to have her medication sorted. While her insurance isnt covered there either she was told this is out of pocket and she could not be transferred somewhere else that does accept her insurance. Disgusting.

Poor communication with family members. Did not feel like it was safe place for my family member to be in. Visiting hour is very limited. Not clean, not updated. Very untherapeutic environment. Had to move our family member to another facility where he received appropriate treatment.

Rita Moeller

My brother has been in the facility for one week and has no contact with family members aside from one phone call. He is very sick physically and we were told he is refusing to take meds. He needs to be transferred to a medical facility for treatment. I worry that my brother will die alone and left untreated. No one will provide information as to what we can do to help. I'm sure my brother is scared as he is very sick and alone. He was sent there through Heartland of Kettering. Again, no help. How do we get him out of there?

Debbra Lawrence

The most horrible place to take a loved one. Their staff treats particularly the nurses, treat the techs like crap. They overload them with a max of 15 patients or more in a PSYCHIATRIC unit! The nurses are very incompetent to even dress a wound, let alone take a blood pressure. A particular nurse by the name Connie is a racist, jealous woman. If your not white and on her side, please do not bring your love one there or work there. Haven has allowed this particular nurse to harass their black employees. Rather investigating her actions they fire their black employees! This place is horrible overall, your loved one will never have a chance to recover because all they will do is dope them up and let fall, so they can be sent out.

Renena Hale

Great staff! Exciting to see the progress being made and the opening of the new dual diagnosis unit. Haven is evolving to meet the needs of the Montgomery and surrounding counties.

Jamie Allen

This place is a train wreck. There is little to no treatment but there is plenty of medication given to patients. From all perspectives they are doing little more than warehousing mental patients and medicating them to zombies. Trying to get information about a family member is next to impossible. If you are going to visit a patient, plan on being treated like a criminal. Staff wasn't friendly at all. I will be speaking to my insurance company about this and make sure that they aren't billed for services that weren't provided.

Anne Carlin

Highly recommend!! Understanding, and compassionate staff that are trained and effective in their roles. They provide an environment that is positive and treat my clients with the upmost respect . They have core values and commitment to the community and to the health of all concerned . No better place to be !

Never go here! In search of help for my husband we went here. First what you are told and the reality are extremely different. We were lied to every step of of the way. As hard as it is to believe the first medications they wanted to treat my husbands schizophrenia with was Mylanta, Peptobismol, and Kaopectate. What?? I'm flabbergasted. It turns out that is the 'standard' for any admission. As my husband was undressing for their exam people wandered in and out of the room. Including a maintenance type worker. Each time the nurse called out "patient in attendance" and was paid no heed. As stated before we found out darn near everything told to us about regulations, visiting hours, patient phone accessibility, items allowed, and treatment routine was a lie. He would not be allowed to use the phone in the evening. Why I asked and was told "If other patients saw him use the phone then they would want to call home." So a patient doesn't have the right to talk to anyone past 6,7,8 pm. The time varied from person to person. We were told he could bring a blanket and a few small personal items. Getting there we were told nope, then of course you can, then absolutely not. Walking into the unit I was told to leave my jacket and purse at the nurses station. I stood at the station several minutes ( timed it! ) while they gossiped and refused to see me standing there. I heard one whisper 'ignore her she'll go away.' having grey hair maybe they I was a patient? I finally stated loudly Excuse Me! One nurse glared at me and said "what?" I explained I was told to leave my items there. They looked at eachother and one said "No, that's stupid." I walked back to the exam room and the attendant got mad I still had my things! I mean raised her voice and chewed me out! After a few incidences I asked my husband if he felt comfortable here and he said absolutely not. I admit not walking out sooner out of morbid curiosity. My husband was voluntary and they said no he had stay. Like Hell! One nurse turned him away from me then got in his face and started rapidly firing questions at him. This is the first of the questions "What are people saying about you behind your back? You know people are talking about you. How do you feel about that? Are you upset?" The connotations were truly frightening. Forget the pretty pictures in the ads. It is far from what the place actually looks like. No rooms with plants and stands and nicely painted walls. As for Quilts and pillow shams, it's a sham alright. Literally 2 beds and a chair. The walls are patched. I doubt any of their facilities in any state look like the pictures. The entire place was devoid of anything pleasing. Outside the locked unit are 2 vending machines half full and cracked worn chairs. You will also have to sign a paragraph that gives them total control of any medical and hospitalization decisions. They labeled him as a high fall risk. He's 50 and in good physical shape and has never fallen. They wouldn't explain. If you have an ounce of love for the person run as far and as fast as you can from this place. Any owner response would be a joke to what is actually going on in here. I don't believe rumors so ignored the bad things I heard. Sadly they turned out to true. Of the few ambulatory patients I saw they were walking zombies, wandering around with no one in sight. No, they were in the nurses station talking and laughing. The others were laying in bed staring at the ceiling, looking medicated passed the point of responsiveness. I've worked in mental units and geriatric units. You can tell a over medicated patient. The whole time we were in the exam room a call light kept beeping in the halls. I was told it was a patient needing help in their room which I knew. It was never answered. I asked if it doesn't drive the nurse up the wall after 10 minutes or so. Meaning 'why don't you answer it??'. He chuckled and said "Believe it or not you stop hearing it after working here a week or so." Dear Lord he had no idea the level of neglect that statement revealed.
