For the sake of your sanity, hence why you’d need to see a place like this - DO NOT GO HERE! My PCP sent a referral in for this practice and they called me to set up an appointment. When they called they Affirmed my insurance and said they would need payment upfront of $150, I said that’s fine. I asked if that was the total cost of the initial visit, the lady said yes. Honestly, that’s the going rate. I went in to my appointment, again they said I have to pay upfront and the TOTAL was $150, I paid this. I go in to see the nurse practitioner, because she was the only person available. Let me tell you, she was horrible, her name is Jennifer. She dressed like a stripper, extremely unprofessional, came off pompous, entitled, cold, and slightly rude. Definitely someone that shouldn’t be in psychotherapy. Basically he augmented my current medication, I left, filled my prescriptions- she screwed them up. A month later when I got for my refill I find that she didn’t give me my 90 day supply as we agreed on. The pharmacist called them and she refused to refill my prescription unless I came back in. I was irate at their service and unwillingness to acknowledge a mistake and fix it. It was the end of the year and I had depleted my FSA/HSA account, couldn’t afford them. I had to make an emergency appointment with my PCP for my presentation; it was easy Peezy. Around this time I get a bill from this place saying I owed an additional $60!!! I called and they said it was this and that and additional services... the lady on the phone couldn’t tell me specifically what it was that went over and generalized it by saying “it’s usually “ yada yada. I paid the bill. But what they’re doing is fraudulent. How many other people do you think they’re doing this sketchy billing practice. I’m so ticked off and offended that I’m calling my doctors practice and telling them they tried to bill my insurance $400 (yeah that’s what they tried) for an initial visit, couldn’t explain an overage due, threatened collection activity on my credit report (true story). Then, I’m going to report them to the Ohio Board of Health. Do not go here people.

Dr yoho is very nice. I loved seeing him he was helpful and informative. Last year was the best I’ve felt in years after finally finding the right medicine and dosages. Then his schedule changed. Suddenly instead of seeing him I was seeing a nurse. She flipped through a book looking for medications I could take while pregnant. I ended up deciding to not take anything and to wait until my pregnancy was over and schedule with dr yoho again. I called set up the appointment with him. Stopped nursing my newborn so that I could start my medication back when I saw him and feel better mentally. I received two email confirmations saying I had an appointment with him only to get a phone call two hours before my scheduled time saying he was not seeing me and it was the nurse again. I called back 4 times trying to figure out what happened and why and only received the voicemail. It sucks leaving a review like this for such a good dr. His front desk staff is very kind and nice as well, I get errors but this is not ok. If someone is scheduling to see an experienced psychiatrist they shouldn’t be set up with anyone other than who they were set up to see. When I pulled up their phone number online I saw another review of someone saying they were continually set up with the nurse also but I blew it off and now I’m seeing that’s just what happens now.

I had a great experience at this office. I must have called a dozen places trying to find a provider taking new patients when I found this one. They took me in the next day, I saw Danielle Khan, CNP and she gave me the medication I needed within the day. I have nothing but great things to say about the service here, including the reception staff.

This practice will charge you and your insurance company the price for a psychiatrist visit, then set you up with a cold and inexperienced nurse practitioner (Jennifer). Go to PsychBC instead. PsychBC clinicians are ethical and professional. PsychBC doesn't file fraudulent insurance claims; Emerald does.

Highly recommend.. I was extremely nervous to switch doctors after my doctor closed her private practice. I had mixed emotions. I even cried because I was embarrassed of myself at my 1st appointment. Sam was kind and professional. He listened with care and understood me... ( that’s not the easiest thing) they also accept major insurance policy’s. Emily is awesome too! I’m super happy with Emerald Psychiatry..

I was able to get in for an appointment when I was pretty much desperate to find a Dr who was accepting new patients. I have only good things to say about the staff.

I had high hopes for Emerald Psychiatry after reading such great reviews. Unfortunately my experience was awful. Jennifer was unfriendly, and didn't show any genuine warmth or concern. I had to repeat myself SEVERAL times because she has poor active listening skills (and consequently makes you feel like she doesn't care about you, but rather filling out her form on the computer). Asked me questions from a form like a robot.

The staff are very caring. It's rare that I have found a psychiatry practice that takes time to actually listen to you as a patient. It's rare that you have experts in psychiatry that show that they care and it's not all about business. I highly recommend Dr. Yoho and his team.
