Going here was one of the worst clinic experiences I've ever had. The receptionist talked to me like I was a kid who had been sent to the principal's office for misbehaving and told me to hurry up with paperwork that I was doing my best on. The NP I saw told me she wouldn't let me get a refill of a prescription that I was prescribed by an MD before because it was "addicting". I've been taking it for months and need it to sleep. All of the staff I encountered was unfriendly and some were downright rude. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you're looking for care in Fargo/ Moorhead.

When I called, the receptionist was snarky and unfriendly. I haven't even received any sort of care from them, but I would feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The receptionist is supposed to be like a first impression. Compared to other doctor's offices, psychologists, and psychiatrists that I've seen, this place seemed the most unwelcoming and rude.

Dr. Kenney is great! He is seeing my son, and now myself also. The staff is great, and patient when my children ask a million questions or want the channel turned to cartoons.

I highly recommend St. Sophies. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Dr. Kenney and his staff. My life has drastically improved since I started seeing Dr. Kenney. I will always be grateful for finding St. Sophies and Dr. Kenney. He is kind and he is brilliant- he knows what he is doing.

I was basically told that she wouldn’t treat me for my diagnosis based on a past situation. Because I made 1 mistake over a year ago ONCE my “Dr.” told me she will never prescribe me medication for my anxiety. So 2 hospitalizations later for panic attacks I’m going to call it quits here. And they basically said they were not willing to work with me on my inability to get to appointments due to a car accident and a broken back. I do not recommend this place, you will find more help at literally any other hospital or psychiatric center. I have received better care at an ER than I did at this highly recommended private practice. Don’t waste your time and money.

My call was answered with a welcome and a please hold. The receptionist then picked up and asked a few questions and explained she was having issues with her computer, so she asked if she could call back. Okay. She calls back, asks what about insurance, told her the company, and she asks if I have my card, I didn't have it with but offered my DOB and SSN to call the provider to confirm benefits, as I have had other medical offices do this. She then explained she couldn't. I then asked if she could hold for a moment so I could double check my wallet. She then said I would need to call back as she was helping a patient. What? Why would you call me back if you were helping a patient?! So, it's okay to put me on hold, but when I ask for the same, it's not? Worst customer service. I will not be calling back about services.

Despite other reviews on here, I truly look forward to going to St. Sophie's. I have never been treated poorly. Dr. Kenny is a great doctor, one of the best in my opinion. He cares about you and your treatment. I staff as well as the doctors are fantastic!

Watch out - staff and dr will be pleasant until they just want to get rid of you and they ALL will turn on you and blacklist you all over town. Dr Kenney cut me off from a medication and threw me into terrible withdrawals that persisted for months on end. Don’t waste your time going there as it might cause you more problems than those of which you originally had. Really spooky - don’t go there!

There staff are all so polite and professional. They never make me feel "sick."

Randell Swingen has been great. Had to follow her from her previous employer. She is a straight shooter with a big heart.

This place is great. Idk why so many people are Complaining about it...being service and care. Always a one sided story with the 1 star review that complains. If you need mental health care you go to st Sophie’s They want to help people and they do a good job doing it. They never want you to run out of meds, they care as much as they possibly can. Terri randy two girls up front those girls they got it together, With their smiles and attention. Don’t go to Sanford behavioral health. You’d die from waiting too long. Thanks ladies.

very impersonal and made me feel uncomfortable for expressing my concerns and questions. saw two different doctors at the facility would not recommend to any friends or family.

despite what all other reviews say, I would say st sophies is a good place. I like the people there and have never been treated as a child or rudely. When cathy was my therapist there, my depression was significantly better. I have dr kenney right now and an appointment tomorrow and he is willing to let you try different medications and generics of expensive ones. he documents everything you say to use for reference. there is nothing bad about going here.

I have a son who has a dual diagnosis. In attending the sessions with his doctor there was not a lot of exploring/history that took place. We had a problem with the front office with mis-scheduling dates and when we needed to cancel once they forgot to cancel. We received a letter from Dr. Emmet Kenney today that suggested that he would no longer see my son due to 4 no shows. I talked to the front desk and he only had 2, one in which they forgot to cancel and they credited the bill back. The second no show was for an appt. for 2/16/2015. I personally made the appointment for our son and it was for 2/23/2015. Once again a receptionist error. So the front desks accounts for 2 and Dr. Kenney's for 4. Plan on waiting for over an hour to see him, with no apologies. Being in the medical field for years my overall summary on Dr. Kenney is one who works for money only and does not have a heart for treating patients. We so need good doctors in the FM area however, it is of my opinion that we do not need doctors the like of Dr. Kenney.

I was treated absolutely terribly here. When I said am a transgender man, she (Ranty Swingen) immediately asked me inappropriate questions about my genetalia, including what genitals I was born with, what I have now, and whether or not my genitals were "ambiguous." I was also pressured to reveal my dead name and it was clear she had no understanding of what it means to be trans. I was asked things like "Are you needy, paranoid, a drama queen, etc." When asked if I was suicidal, I responded by saying that I often had suicidal ideation but did not regularly have suicidal intent. The professional chose to categorize me as not suicidal and didn't bother following up. She also said I was "obviously overweight" and was not doing enough to better my health, refused to listen when I explained it was under control with my primary care physician. On top of all this she regularly rolled her eyes, scoffed at me, interrupted me, and ignored my input. And when she prescribed me a new medication, she did not explain it at all. I finally got a response to my complaint from the administrator, nearly a month later, and was told that all of the questions I was asked were completely normal, common, and necessary. I told them that was unacceptable and I would be warning other LGBT people away from St. Sophie's, and they responded with "Thank you, I appreciate that."

Top notch staff.

Going here was one of the worst experiences ever. The therapist was late for our set appointment. She was very unfriendly and judgmental to the reasons I was there. I ended up terminating the appointment and walked out more upset and anxious than walking in. It severely impacted my entire day. Do yourself a favor and seek help elsewhere.

Nancy Harsel

Was told we could no longer make appointment due to cancelled appointments. One was canceled be Dr Kenney with no explanation. One cancelled by us because our son who is bipolar and is showing signs of social phobia would not leave the house (Not going to school ). One may have been resheduled because of weather. Evidently he isn't concerned about his patient and doesn't return phone calls either. We can't get him into a hospital because he hasn't tried to commit suicide ...yet!!! I won't give up but regret wasting my time here.

Jessica Nelson

Dr. Kenney and the receptionists have been accepting and helpful since I first started there. I have no complaints.

Emma Morgan

Randy is amazing. She helped me get an accurate diagnosis, or at least believed the one I was given before and wasn’t afraid to give me answers that I really needed. She’s quick and efficient and never talks down to you or makes you feel like you are anything but a normal person despite whatever mental illness you may have. She’s genuine and treats everyone with respect. Most doctors talk to me like I’m stupid but she makes me feel like we are a team and my thoughts and opinions are valid and works with me to provide the best care possible. I’d recommend her to anyone.

Sheila S

My husband has been going here for years. His last appointment, he mentioned that his symptoms were getting worse and he was drinking alcohol again. The doctor's response to that was to threaten to cut off all his medication (ADHD, anxiety, depression). What?!? I've been trying to get him to go elsewhere for quite a while. I think this might be the back-breaking straw.
