My experience there has been very positive. The doctor I’ve seen has been kind and helpful. I also see a therapist I really love

Sherry Van Allen

Very hard review to make, and that I have to make it so negatively. Dr. Wenning is awesome and has looked after our little girl FANTASTIC since age 4, and, still does! The Dr. is NOT the problem. We used to get pretty great service all around. Although we had an incident where we once had to go to the office manager because of a Nurse that was very out of line during a phone call, but it was properly taken care of, and, that was some years back. All seemed well. But the past year or so, has went so far down hill, it has most likely been, at least partially responsible for the multiple hospitalizations of our little girl, because messages weren't past to the Dr., and our Daughter could have died, when she was exhibiting very serious symptoms, which turned out to be lithium and seroquel toxicity, for which her Pediatrician ended up after more than a month, hospitalizing her for. Horrible service from the phones, and some of the Nurses, is where this is originating. Sherry Griffin was the Office Manager that was helpful before, but I cannot reach her now, multiple messages to the New Office Manager have been left without call backs, just like the Nurses. And, btw, I have had days of 2 hours ringing then, with no one picking up. The Therapist of our Daughter, that is awesome, now in private practice, also assisted us in ringing the office, to find no one was picking up, during the horror we were going through to get the Dr., and the Nurses were very, very rude! I did want to add out of fairness that recently (Feb 2017), Nurse Jason, has been taking care of most of our calls, and, is nothing short of spectacular to deal with, (5 Stars for Nurse Jason, 5 Star for Dr. Wenning). There have been some other Nurses, Nurse Pam that was filling in that was also awesome, and, Nurse Sherry has been good as well. Glad improvements to the office seem to be forthcoming. We've approached Dr. Wenning twice on this issue; and, he takes things very seriously and makes corrections and reports, and, provides feedback!

I am extremely happy because Deloris is leaving NorthEast Psychiatric. I don't approve of her stuck up attitude. I am extremely happy because I will no longer see her face again in the future.

I have been a patient here for several years. When my regular doctor left, they scheduled me with someone else and didn't give me the option of choosing who I wanted to see. I saw the new doctor twice and decided I would prefer someone else. After leaving 3 messages and no return calls, I finally talked to someone. They told me I would have to get approval from my current doctor to switch, then get approval from the one I wanted to see. The current doctor approved, but the new one didn't. They told me I would have to continue seeing the one I didn't want to see or go somewhere else. How unprofessional! If you need refills, be prepared to wait, I needed a refill and it took 4 days without medication to get them. I will definitely be looking elsewhere.

I have called for weeks after holding for 45 mins to an hour on hold left messages I've not received a phone call/ message from ANYONE. ........HOWEVER WHEN YOU DO FINALLY GET TO SEE THE DOCTOR HE IS AWESOME(DR . WINNING) . ......THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE BEYOND SUCKS ...........

Save yourself the time and pick somewhere else. Receptionists are very rude. Have been threatened to be kicked out because of having a panic attack. Dr cancelled about half of my appointments no notice. Not an ideal place if seeking psychiatric help.

I would not recommend anyone going here. To start, there is no customer service and I always feel dismissed (in person and on the phone). When I call, and press the number that I want to wait for the next available staff member, it sends me to the triage voicemail. Before, I used to be on hold for 15-20 minutes each time. The worst part is that I never have enough medication refills to get me to my next appointment. My pharmacy has to call my doctor (Dr. Thakkar) for an authorization and she either doesn't approve it for days, or doesn't approve it at all. When my doctor was on maternity leave, one of her coworkers saw me and they charged me double for a "new patient appointment". It required my mom calling in multiple times then to finally reach the manager. In the end, the hundreds of dollars we incorrectly had to pay was put as an account credit towards mynext visit. I could go on and on. After four years of dealing with this, I am finally seeking treatment somewhere else!

Drs are friendly but if you need to get thru on the phone...prepare to be on hold for a very long time. Seems they could use more people to answer patients calling them.

I have been going to NE Psych for over 2 years and have never had a problem, customer service has been great, always welcoming, I see Delores, and I'm sad she's leaving but apparently my new therapist is great, I also see Yvonne, I don't know what I would have done without her, well and Delores too, I lost my son 8 months ago and Yvonne has been there for me big time. Sometimes Dr's appts run late, that's with any office and yes, when u call, you're put on hold, but you have to take into consideration what type of office this is and calls that may take some time if it's a person with suicidal thoughts let's say, I can't see being on hold for 45 mins, I just try to be mindful of these things. I'm grateful for them!

Please dont come here unless you have no choice...Always nasty, in a rush, giving me an attitude. I wish i never started medications because if you are having trouble with them, the nurses hardly ever call you back and youre going to suffer and call daily begging for help. Ended up in the er multiple times because of no help from the nurses or doctor and rebound anxiety attacks. I think it's ridiculous how you can never talk to a live person... The receptionists are not friendly or bubbly. They are nasty and rude...It's hard enough to battle personal issues and then deal with people who make it that much harder. If I worked there, I would be more mindful of my patients and those struggling. Quite sad... Also, be prepared to wait months to see a doctor. They have entirely too many patients and not enough staff to accommodate.

I ain’t never going back thinkin I was going to get help yet the dr. Asked me questions with no kinda resolution or plan. Only thing they was concerned about was making more appointments to get my money. Everyone find u somewhere else to go don’t go to this place.

I saw Dr. Roderick Lily. Actually this was the 2nd time I saw him, as I was evaluated 1 1/2 years ago for surgery, which due to other health issues never happened. Today (2/28/19) I again was evaluated by Dr. Lily for surgery. BOTH times I found him extremely easy to speak with, non-judgemental, and very understanding. I STRONGLY recommend him for your evaluation needs!!! If I could give him 10 stars.....I would! My only regret is that he doesn't see patients for counseling, he strictly does evaluations........Thank you Dr. Lily for making would could have been a very uncomfortable appointment very easy!!! Kuddo's Dr. Lily.....!!!!

I was already Leary having previously read the reviews on here, but decided to go to the first appointment with my daughter because of a referral. Big mistake. I highly suggest if you have children DO NOT BOTHER with this place. First, there is no understanding for families with multiple children. The facilities were old and dirty, like they don’t even care to make the patient feel comfortable in their surroundings. Second, the therapist that our young daughter was referred to must not often work with young kids. Ms. Moon was very unpersonable, and I feel would have been a terrible fit for a young child. Third, Atrium Health would do well to better vet those who they choose to have work for them and where they make their referrals. Not only did we have to wait months for the visit, but had policy been shared prior to visit our time would not have been wasted and we would have been able to find a better fit for our family.

Dr. Thakker is amazing. When needing to speak with a nurse, Good luck. When needing to ask questions, make changes, make an appointment... Good luck! Aweful

Very rude Dr Ferguson. Basically first question was why did I want my daughter evaluated again because she was just done 2 years ago. Not her place when she was referred there by her behavior doctor and I wanted her to just do her job. She then proceeded to ask me specifically what I thought the school could do more for her in her 504 plan because they can’t individually instruct her and she has many different copies of 504 plans from other schools. Clearly I informed her she wasn’t there to help my daughter and I walked out.

Refused to talk or even offer help. Said they don't treat patients with adhd/add.

Wonderful staff, very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend A++

I love Dr. Thakker but getting anyone on the phone or a call back from staff is pretty much impossible .The triage line is just a voicemail that no one seems to check. I've spent 2 business days trying to talk to someone and nothing. Given all the negative reviews about the same issues, too bad no one is doing anything.

I have to give this place 5 stars because Dr Crystal Hagood was one of my favorite psychiatrists (I’ve moved around a lot) and it was a pleasure to work with her. The first psychiatrist I saw here, I didn’t care for at all, she wasn’t open to prescribing me my tried-and-true medication that has been helping me since I was 17. I know it’s a risky medication but it’s better to be on it than in a constant fog unable to function or stay grounded in reality etc etc, and personally I’ve never had problems with it. So I requested to see a different doctor there and they referred me to Dr Hagood, who struck me as a very smart, down-to-earth, respectful and caring doctor. I love that she listened to me about what medications had helped in the past and what medications weren’t helping. She didn’t keep me on any meds with intolerable side effects like my previous dr had. She got me stabilized on some basic meds that I know from experience help me, and together we worked to find another medication that I’d find tolerable in a class of drugs that doesn’t usually agree with me. I was struggling a lot at that time in my life, but my quality of life did improve with her help and I got on the right track. She also had a very logical and refreshing approach to the issue of whether or not to take meds during pregnancy, since I was trying for a baby. And that’s a big issue and she helped me to weigh the pros and cons. She did what any responsible dr would do and gave me accurate advice for making the healthiest decision for me personally. 11/12 doctors I ended up talking to about the subject agreed with her advice, the 12th doctor I feel endangered my pregnancy and was negligent. I do recommend her if you want a doctor who is fair and who listens to you and takes your experiences into account. I always felt better after our appointments, too. The front desk staff was very nice to me, they were always quite friendly and good at their jobs. But I did have the feeling at times that the Triage nurses were rude or not so understanding, when I had to speak with them over the phone, however that could’ve been partly my paranoia at the time. I think I recall having a few issues with handling things over the phone, but nothing major. Nothing to detract from my 5 star rating of this lifesaving doctor and the decent staff that worked at the office. If I had stayed with the original dr, I don’t think I’d be giving this place 5 stars at all. I guess a lot of it depends on which dr you see. Oh and following her advice on whether or not to take my meds during pregnancy, I ended up having an enjoyable 9 months and a perfectly healthy and wonderful baby girl - no complications! :)

Who Cut It ?

Very rude customer service....and a doctor (Dr. Lilly) that is dishonest. This office is a 45 minute drive from home. My wife had an appointment one morning and was running a little behind schedule so she called the Dr's office to let them know that she was going to be a little late....and asked if she should still come, or reschedule. The woman on the phone asked the Dr and the Dr said that it was ok, and that she should still come to the office. As soon as my wife pulls into the parking lot, she gets a call from the Drs office telling her nevermind...that the next appointment came in early (over 30 minutes early) and that they decided that they were going to take them instead. My wife told the woman that she was in the parking lot and coming into the building...but the woman tells her that that was what the Dr said, and there is nothing she will do about it. So word to the wise...if you plan on having an appointment with this office/doctor....and you feel you may not make it on-time...just cancel, or reschedule...because you will waste your time and gas just trying.

I help care for a relative that was seen here for many years. After her provider left the practice, she was switched to a different psychiatrist. One day she received a letter saying her chart was being closed. No other explanation. Office manager never returned messages to help understand how this decision was made.

Very rude don't go here at all unless you want to waste your time i always have a issue with them filling my son's prescriptions and when I call to have his meds refilled they say they will send them to the pharmacy everytime and they will be ready but they never are when I get to the pharmacy to get them they tell me the office never even sent them to be filled yet it aint nothing but problem after problem!!!

After several months waiting to get a call back to make our first appointment, our bad experience continued for the next year. The Dr.'s we experienced were very "clinical", and not meant to work with children. They never developed a relationship with my daughter or got to know her to prescribe her medicine...they just went down their checklist and dismissed us after a 15 min. appointment. When we had severe problems with medication side effects, we would call and never get a call back from nurses. We had to go in person several times to get someone to help our daughter or to get our medical questions/concerns answered. We went back to our old therapist and when she tried to get in contact with our Psychiatrist here, to discuss our daughter and how to best work together to help her, they never contacted her back. I feel that I spent the last year and a half fighting alone for my daughter and her mental health. I'm very disappointed in the "care" and I hope that they can make drastic changes to better meet the needs of the children that they're supposed to support.

Angelina Glass

The very first time I tried to go to an appt here, there was a big mess up and after driving 45 minutes there, I was just turned away to go all the way back home. I have since had several appointments here with different people and not once have I felt like it has been satisfactory. I hate that they are the only place (I can't even say locally since it's 45 minutes from my home) that my insurance covers, because I feel like no matter what, I am not getting quality mental health support.

Staff Material

Never had a problem here that any of the others seem to express. Must seem to rely on who you see. By appointment only.
