The logistics here aren't great. Insurances often get lost and payments go missing so you definitely need to be on top of your own finances and keep and eye on charges. That being said, I LOVE my therapist, Jillie. She is by far one of if not THE best therapist I have worked with and she is worth every penny!

Overall: The environment is very relaxing and there is a large variety of individual providers to choose from. Everything that can be automated and done digitally, is. It's clear that a lot of thought has been given to every aspect of the clinic and is continuously monitored, everything from the hiring process that screens for knowledgeable, quick, and courteous staff to text reminders for appointments, printed prescriptions, digital records, and ability to communicate with providers easily through email and phone. My experience: I previously was treated at the now-closed (as of December 2017) office of Parish McKinney until my insurance changed a few years ago. I'm a young man that has been treated for over 5 years for the same fairly-mind condition, but of course experiencing the inevitable ups and downs that life throws at you (and your mental condition) along it's way, so I rarely need much more than a prescription for medication. For me, the provider that works the best for me out of the three I've seen is Brian McCarthy. He's pretty to-the-point, but not harsh or stern at all and actually listens when you speak to him or ask questions. Some of you might be interested to learn that he was once a monk and studied under Otto Kernberg, the man who discovered Borderline Personality Disorder. Speaking directly to the woman who ran the billing department, she claims that they take pretty much all major insurance "except Humana". Please call ahead or speak to your insurance before making an appointment to make sure you're covered and what you'll be paying.

NP is very understanding and compassionate. Recently called "the urgent line" and four days later no call back. I have lost trust and confidence in the urgent line. People don't see the urgency until they need help...In our case, they never called. Very upsetting. Stand by your word or it means NOTHING.

Mood Treatment Center literally changed the course of my life for the better. It started when I saw Valerie Vestal for what I thought would be ongoing management of my depression and anxiety. She used a computer program to more accurately diagnose my underlying PTSD...and bipolar II disorder. I resisted the latter diagnosis. I had the typical misconceptions about bipolar, mostly associated with mania. "I've never been manic a day in my life," I told her in disbelief. She said she believed me, and explained how hypomania, the characteristic 'high' of bipolar II, can manifest itself as irritation and anxiety. Still, I would not accept the diagnosis and instead switched to another practitioner - Brian McCarthy. Brian did not push the bipolar II diagnosis on me. Instead, we together adopted a "try and see" approach to various treatments, only changing one at a time so we could be sure of the effect. Brian was patient and even let me try some things that I had come up with in addition to his recommendations, which he never pushed. We found that Omega 3 fatty acids and other stress management techniques helped. Brian helped me find a CBT counselor in the area, which I have been seeing for a year now. And then, finally, we tried Lamictal, one of the primary bipolar II go-to medications. It worked quickly to counteract my depression, and a low-dose antipsychotic worked wonders on my anxiety and irritability. A few months later, I finally accepted my bipolar II diagnosis with relief. I was not ashamed, and I was beyond convinced at that point that I truly am indeed bipolar - because why else would the bipolar meds have helped me? I had been misdiagnosed for over 10 years and mistakenly put on antidepressants, which I am now off of. I now understand Brian's method. By instead focusing on the treatment and not the diagnosis, he was able to guide me to a place of acceptance and acceleration of my healing through patience, a guided experimental approach, and evidence-based treatment. I even went to find Valerie to let her know that I was happy to say that she was right! I cannot speak highly enough of the methods and results of Mood Treatment Center. My current condition, while room for improvement, is a step change above anything I have ever experienced. If you're frustrated or unsure of how to help yourself, I recommend seeking out care from this outstanding facility.

My son has been going here for the past 3 years. He sees Valerie Vestal. She was wonderful with him from the very beginning. She always inquires of his well being, and offers encouragement. Over the years, my son has seen several different therapists. He had a great one in California. We moved here, and he suffered greatly with local mental health providers. No body would help him get on the correct medications. When we found MTC and thankfully Valerie Vestal, my son improved greatly. She got him on the right meds, encouraged him, and always has a kind word. Can't say enough good thIngs about her and MTC. Valerie goes out of her way to help my son.

Katmir Stone

Very few are helped if they are made to wait two hours plus past their scheduled appointments, and prescribing unnecessary drugs. I sincerely hope other people in need find professionals who actually care about your health and wellbeing. Shame.

Brittany Johnson

The front staff are always very polite and accommodating. My psychiatrist, Sophia, is extremely responsive to my needs and always responds to my calls or questions the same day. I have spent 10 years looking for the right psychiatrist, because I work in psychology, and didn't want just a medication pusher. They also keep survey data to monitor their patients improvement or lack-thereof. I love this type of monitoring for clinical decision-making!

Artarius Haney

My wife has been comming here for about 2 years now and I must say Valerie has helped my wife since she started! I recommend anyone to come see her. She is real patient with my wife. If you looking for the best at mood treatment center, I recommend Valerie Vestal.

Brandy

My experience is is very pleasant, however had to go to Greensboro location Jessica and Sara. Love Greensboro

My daughter has been going to the Mood Treatment Center since March 2017. She was making a lot of progress with her former therapist there but due to circumstances beyond our control, this therapist had to leave due to familial obligations. We had made an appointment with another therapist. After she was connected with a new therapist, we got there and this therapist had cancelled the appointment. We made another appointment and that therapist decided not to show up that day. We were within ten minutes of the facility and I had to turn around and head back home (40 minutes away.) She was connected with a THIRD therapist but she has only seen her once. This one didn't seem to care. We are trying to set up a new appointment (there's nowhere else in our area to go) and I hope it'll be a better fit.

Paul

Every single time I come here the "professional" is always late. They don't seem to care about being prompt or care much about their clients/patients schedules. If you're a busy person, go somewhere else.

Brajan Funes

Absolutely incredible staff. They maintain a caring, peaceful, and genuinely warm practice. Booking can sometimes be tough especially if you have a very experienced counselor but otherwise very professional assistance with trying to fit your schedule. Best therapeutic practice in Winston.

Marissa Byers

Amazing staff, flexible with payments, and Aiken is a genius.

no help for me I am still an a******

NOT impressed- my therapist saw me 15-25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time despite seeing no clients before me and would kick me out after 30 mins (despite having paid $120 for 60 mins). I felt as if my OCD & panic disorder got worse after each session. The worst part was probably the pharmaceutical care, where you pay $75-$100 for a 10 min session with a nurse practitioner rather than an actual psychiatrist. Although this review is based on the opinion of just one client, I would highly recommend looking for mental health treatment elsewhere before considering this place. I have definitely been able to find MUCH cheaper & more experienced & caring practitioners elsewhere, such as the psych department at my local university. Please only consider this 'treatment' center as a last resort.

drew davids

valerie is very helpful but she is ALWAYS behind. she can be rude sometimes but she is very helpful and does the best for her patients. she talks about what can beneficial for me, and helps every step of the way. she just is always behind. chase salmons is the best therapist i have EVER had, he helps a lot and gets back to me almost immediately, he is very resourceful and will help you find things that are beneficial to your needs. he cares deeply about his patients. ive never trusted a therapist as much as i have trusted him.

Peter Templeton

I strongly disagree with the previous review by Ms. Jordan. Dr. Aiken and his staff have an excellent reputation in the local mental health community. The paperwork at the front end of the evaluation and treatment process is rarely efficent for new patients in any medical or mental health setting, but the personalized approach the Mood Treatment Center staff takes is thoughtful and thorough. I have full confidence in the therapists and staff of this facility for anyone who pursues a goal of improved mental health through an array of contemporary mood treatment therapies.

I have been meeting with TJ Shaffer the past two years. He's been a great life coach and has helped me improve my outlook and relationships.

Phil Severino

Love the care, and people but really dislike the fact that about all of my appointments run later about 30 min after the set times. Scheduling needs revamped drastically as it's pushing 45 min now after my appointment time.

Dana Rolin

I have worked with MTC since 2015. I was finally diagnosed with a DR. Who "got me". Dr. Aiken has never rushed our appt., scheduled me in at my lowest moments, explained meds effects etc..asked my opinion..if I wanted to try different meds. always shows concerns of meds and the physical well being, noted the goal is to be off meds. The web site with all the knowledgeThe staff over the moon assisting with medical records and appreciating the necessary time limits. For two years now I travel 3.5 hours to MTC. and will. Thank you to all.

Elizabeth Stonich

I love the mood treatment center but I don't love that MD's and RN's leave constantly in the middle of treatment. I have had, since 2015 anyways, 5 MD docs. It is very hard to keep starting over when you have bipolar. I was not misdiagnosed and I do love the warmth feeling I get here-but I am not a fan of almost yearly starting over with a new doc-1 that doesn't always respond. I hope to find stability, but the record is not looking good.

Heather Riley

The mood treatment center is okay but you do have to wait a while. And I've emailed my doctor but no response back especially I was having a bad side effect with my meds. And still waiting on my call to see a therapist.

I have been going to counseling for a long time, but I finally found a place that actually understands what I am going through. The professionalism and sincerity can't be toped. Finally for the first time I feel comfortable and actually receiving the help that I need. Thank you to all the work you have done for me and I want you to know that my life has completely changed for the better more so in the last 3 to 4 months than I have had in the last 15 yrs combined at other facilities.

Christin Thomas Price

This place is great if you have the right person for you. Do your research and find your fit. If it isn't a good fit, they will gladly switch you with another professional within the office. That is what is so great.

stephanie edwardskluttz

I just want to say, that without Dr. Rinehart, and Dr. Akers, I would not be in the place mentally, emotionally or physically that I am in today. It took a lot of trial and error to get medicines correct, but finally, I am on the right track. I honestly believe if it weren't for Dr. Rinehart being so kind and patient with me, I probably wouldn't have made it. They actually are real life heroes to me, and Dr. Aiken, I am so grateful for your facility. I wouldn't be where I am right now without it and your staff. I am finally in a very good place. No going back!!!

Mary t

I wanted to become a new patient, however, I needed to know if they have someone on staff who is experienced at treating PTSD. First it took forever before I could even talk to a person. The receptionist finally answered, but then disconnected me. So, I had to start all over again. I finally reached the receptionist and asked the question. I was transferred and disconnected again. I gave up--am searching elsewhere.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Slow, unorganized administrative processes led to me being inappropriately billed. Turns out that the "old staff" just didn't file my insurance information and they called A YEAR LATER to say that i owed the balance! Only effect this place had on my mood was a bad one.

Paul Vaughn

I’ve been going here for 3 years and am very impressed with everyone, from the staff to my therapist and nurse practitioner. I had been diagnosed bipolar disorder at another place and didn’t think I had it. At the Mood Treatment Center they don’t just tell you what you have and what you have to take. They work with you. They helped me understand my diagnosis better and found a med that’s right for me. They’ve always responded to my questions and requests. When I email I usually get a response in a few hours, even on the weekend. The place has grown a lot since I started there, but it still feels personal, and they’ve added a lot of features that make it easier, like being able to text the staff and make appointments on my cell phone. I’ve fought this stuff all my life, and never thought I’d find a place that really cares and knows what they’re doing like this place does.

The provider I saw was always great, but the office staff has always been horribly incompetent. I was trying to set up an appointment after a few years away, and after spending 40 minutes on hold, the person I spoke to on the phone transferred me without hearing the entirety of my question. Naturally she transferred me to someone who wasn't in their office. When I was a regular patient, getting medications refilled was a nightmare. I'm not an unreasonable person. I get that sometimes people aren't available to answer the phone, but it's always been this way. You leave a message and nobody ever contacts you. You email. Nothing. I really hoped that after three years, they would have improved some. Not so. Brian is fantastic, but the office staff is an embarrassment.

Emily Rice

I have been to a lot of doctors and therapists and this place was the first that was really able to help me. It was nice to be able to get therapy and medication in the same place, and they don’t just push medication. They took time to help me understand my condition and my options so I felt like I had a voice in the matter for once! They have a lot of therapists to choose from - I saw one for the first visit (which was diagnostic testing) and another for therapy. I saw a nurse practitioner and was not disappointed with the service. I asked to see the psychiatrist as well to double check things - that was easy to schedule and went well. Six months into it my anxiety and depression are much better and I've recommended this place to others. The therapist I saw was easy to reach when I needed her, but the main phone is often busy so it was a little hard to get an appointment at first, but the staff was friendly and they helped me get an account on their online scheduler which makes that part a lot easier.

I have NEVER in my life felt so disrespected or judged. Whatever you do, do NOT MEET WITH VALERIE!!! She was running over an hour behind and I live 45 minutes away so that was a frustrating start already. She never apologized or even acknowledged the fact that she was so late (I later find out that she's known for being late, it wasn't a one time thing) Then once I finally get called back, our session lasts 10 minutes and she asks me nothing about why I was there and instead told me to come back for another session before she would give me the medicine I needed. She was so incredibly rude I was speechless. She was awkward, unhelpful, EXTREMELY judgmental, and made me feel 10x worse than before I came in. She asked me no relevant questions as to why I needed to be there and I am absolutely horrified by the way she made me feel. I would rather not get the help I need then sit through another 10 minutes with her. I am now going home in a worse state than I came in. It's evident her intent for my return was for her own financial benefit. Disgusting.

Gregory Hanseler

I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you want to wait longer than you would at some ER’s and urgent cares to be seen for an appointment! Just got back home now, after waiting over an hour to be seen by Valerie, for an 8 am appointment that I was on time for. Mind you this was not the first time I have waited over 40 minutes, I have given them the benefit of the doubt twice so far. Because of this I am still in mania after she made a rapid titration on one of my meds a little over a month ago. Being someone in the medical field I pretty much wrote down on the back of the pre visit mood forms, the suggested dosages that my meds should be titrated down to, and got refunded for my visit. Never again will I visit here, it’s a complete joke! Also there were 2 other patients who came in just after me who were waiting at least 40 minutes to be seen, until they called it quits.

Leigh Freeman

Good luck EVER getting a call back. This place is ridiculous. I've called, emailed through their "secure email" on their website. NOTHING. My dad is a patient and needs paperwork filled out for disability but his doctor is literally impossible to get in touch with, and when I request a call back, it never happens. Edit: the disability department contacted me and have been very helpful in getting my father's paperwork pushed forward. Thank you!!!

Sir Speedy Winston Salem

I was not given information on how to prepare for the visit (paperwork done ahead, etc) and it was very unclear what to do when I walked in the door. I wandered around uncomfortably for a bit, probably taking up some of my "precious" appt time because the young lady almost did not have time to ask me all of her "yes" and "no" questions that she was entering into a computer. I don't think prescribing medicine for psychiatric problems can be handled in a black and white manner -- I did not reschedule. Looks like a scam and a group that wants to make big money with the fewest highly paid professionals involved.

Dr. Aiken has been by my side for over a decade. We first met in 2005 when I, a single parent, was trying to cope with both my sons deploying within only a few days apart. Of course, we have since moved on to bigger & better things like coping with a son w/PTSD. Nonetheless, Dr. Aiken knows exactly how to sweep me up in a pile & set me back on my feet. All associates I've delta with have been very helpful, caring & professional...this is the reason I drive 1 hr + to visits. Thank you so much for your support!

Christine Alden

Don't go here. That's all I'm going to say...

Karl Gmeiner

For me MTC was a really warm place where I received care from someone (Valerie Vestal) who was both extremely knowledgable and compassionate. The facility was comfortable and easy to find. I would highly recommend it!

MS AG

Dr Aiken is the best there is and you do not have to see a NP for your medication you can see him directly. I do and he has helped me in so many ways. And it is he who returns your phone calls not a nurse.

Mark Seatvet

very nice. The best I know.

Steve Williams

The staff here are pill pushers. Brian seemed more concerned I was on a cocktail of drugs then a lower limited well working drugs. Many will insist you are bipolar regardless of symptoms expressed.

Michelle Palmer

The therapist I saw was primarily an adolescent therapist (I'm over 50), and I gave him about 6 months before I fired him. You see a nurse practitioner - not a shrink - for meds. Aside from expensive blood tests, there is no effort to probe physical causes for depression. Dr. Aiken does nothing aside from sending memos to staff - I received better therapy at CAC in Austin, TX, without the large bill, and medication management is not exactly supervised.

Julie Smith

Nice to have counselors and psychiatrists in the same office but staff upstairs and calling to talk to someone is generally very difficult.

Dawn Pegram

I have been wrongly diagnosed since I was 20 years old. In less than 6 months at the center I am able to make it through days with little to no depression or mood swings. I think this month has been the best I have had in quite a while. My medications have been adjusted each time a concern arouse. I would recommend the Mood Treatment Center to anyone looking to enjoy life again.

Lynn Bancroft

I was severely disappointed by The Mood Treatment Center. I scheduled an initial appointment after looking over their website. I was done after two sessions. They rely mostly on computers to diagnose people(I would have gone to WebMD I'd known that!), are very cold/clinical in their treatment approach, and not to mention costly. Unfortunately, were many extra fees and "unknown costs" associated with my two visits. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere for a good counselor or doctor.

FRONT DESK: polite, professional and work accordingly so you don't feel rushed even when there's a line, which in my opinion is a positive sign- clients are always a great sign. BILLING OFFICE: Helped me set-up a personalized payment plan so my bill stays manageable. EMERGENCY CALL LINE: Always helped me in the ways I needed. SCHEDULING: always work you to get you scheduled as you need. PSYCHIATRISTS & THERAPISTS: I've been treated at many places and I know this place is a good fit for me. OVER-ALL A LIFE SAVING, ON-GOING EXPERIENCE.

Marcus Thorne

Very professional staff and doctors . I have had a great experience with my doctor . I am on the medication that actually works for me because my doctor listened to me and my concerns . She really cares about her patients. I would recommend this place to everyone that needs help with any type of problem .

Abi Normal

When I first started going here, I saw a therapist who I've now found out diagnosed me incorrectly. I should of known since she was always cancelling appointments with the lamest of excuses. She left the practice since then. I decided not to see someone else until the right combination of drugs was found. That was a mistake. Since I was misdiagnosed(as being bipolar), I was put on meds for that which did not help at all. Valerie was always late for appointments. At least 30 minutes to a hour. She never really listen to my concerns. Just went from drug to drug. A ton of side effects and gained a ton of weight. I have also been inaccurately billed four times. Each time having to show my receipt from a previous appointment or bank statement showing I did pay them. I didn't get a text reminder for my last appointment either so I could cancel it. I couldn't log onto the website for appointments to check and cancel it. From past experience, calling them is a run around and impossible to get anyone. That's why I didn't call them. I did email to cancel and explained I haven't received any text reminders and could not log onto their appointment site. I didn't know when the appointment was. I was emailed back and was told it was cancelled. Though I was not told when the appointment was and how to fix my log in problem. Now I've gotten a text saying I have an online statement from them. The same number that usually texts me appointment reminders but didn't this past time. I cannot log on to check it. I shouldn't have any statements since I paid them every time I visited. Though I do wager I was billed for the cancelled appointment. Do not go here. I should have stopped a long time ago. Due to my bad anxiety, I kept going because I didn't want to start new some where else. I guess they did help me in a way. They did make me mad enough to quit going and look for somewhere else.

I have had issue in the past getting in contact with anyone on the phone- being put on hold indefinitely, but have recently had much better results emailing. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff. I feel as though they are legitimately interested in helping me, and my therapist has consistently been supportive, engaged, and seems very invested in my well-being.

Jodi Wroblewski

They didn’t listen to me or my husband and incorrectly diagnosed me with bipolar disorder when in fact I do not have it or any other mental illness. They didn’t consider the many medications I was on at the time of diagnosis or even when we questioned them. I have been off all medications for a year now and I’ve never been healthier or felt better. Thank goodness I have a primary care physician who believed in me. If I were still seeing Dr. Aikens and Goldberg I’d still be very, very ill. I now have an amazing quality of life!!!

Jessica Willman

I read a few reviews before I began visiting this place, but I have not looked at the reviews lately. Turns out, it is exactly what people are saying. This place makes you feel worse. They are more interested in prescribing medicine than they are giving you a proper diagnosis. The cost of the visit is significantly more if they prescribe you medicine even if you were only there 15 minutes and mood treatment center plays on that big time. I have had a serious break down and I needed to talk to someone on the emergency line and I NEVER received a phone call back. TO THIS DAY, I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. It is very hard to initially get in touch with them via phone anyway, Email is your best bet. I do like their process, a mandatory 2 visits before medication is prescribed but I truly believe there should be more evaluation.

Matthew Bingham

If you like to waste your time out of your day go here. Waited 45 min past appt time and still had another patient ahead of us. This is a direct reflection of a poorly managed office. This also seems to be a common trend on this review page. Next will come a sorry excuse instead of a solution

This place is horrible just stay away!!! They do not care about you at all. They just don’t ant your money.

I had a bad experience with the billing department. Though overall this is a fine practice, Dr Aiken is excellent at what he does.

Firstly, I have to briefly comment on the absolutely negligent administration and staff. It's far too easy to fall through the cracks. What a total lack of organization! What a great way to treat emotionally fragile people! I regularly experienced sudden appointment cancellations from the provider, as well as unpleasantness from phone operators (overtly aggressive inflections, and unnecessarily argumentative exchanges, sudden; unprompted "lost connections"). I have gone for the past three weeks without seeing my counselor due to her sudden departure followed by administrative issues. During this recent unfortunate lapse, I experienced a suicide attempt. The latter could have been possibly thwarted if I had received the treatment that I expected to receive. One of the thoughts coursing through my head during the event was "I'll never receive the treatment I need, as much as I try. I can't live like this." There was an evident contribution. The worst thing is that they don't take responsibility for their screw-ups. They left me hanging dry, ill and without treatment or a stable provider. When I lamented this to a phone operator, she implied it was my fault. My fault for doing what I was told and waiting for them to coordinate treatment with an alternative provider after my primary left. Waiting for that call-back that never came. Waiting weeks to learn that there was no other provider I could see, as none in my network were taking new patients. The primary plus consisted of the pretty classical guitar music that perpetually graces the waiting room. In addition, when I was able to see my counselor (the few and far between times) we had fair/adequate sessions. Oh, I should also add that few counselors/therapists are taking on new patients. Might have better luck elsewhere. I was so excited to receive treatment from this well-regarded institution. I am, overall, extremely disappointed and not psychologically aided. Mission not accomplished.

Samantha Johnson

I have never felt so backed by a treatment team before. By being in the same building, my psych and therapist are able to communicate about the best treatment plan for me. I finally have the correct diagnosis, medications, and therapy and feel I am finally in recovery for my Bipolar II. I have recommended and personally driven friends to receive treatment here and all have been very happy with the treatment they were given.

Kathleen Mackie

I totally disagree with the negative reviews on MTC, particularly concerning Valerie Vestal. Before Valerie, I had been hospitalized about every 2 years, and had electroshock therapy once. This year, I received my bachelor's degree with a 4.0 average, published a CD on band camp, and have a full time job. I really don't care if I had to wait a few times. She is also the only H.C. provider I've ever had to address the issue of weight gain do to medications. She's a miracle worker.

Royal King Boiko

This place is freaking horrible, they don’t care if you have an appointment time. I waited almost an hour after my scheduled time for my husband to see the chick who works here. It’s bad to have people wait at a MOOD TREATMENT CENTER after their time. All they want is your MONEY!! Stay away and read all the other reviews.

requested a prescription refill over the weekend since i couldnt get in contact w doc here. left two messages since im feeling physically ill and mentally awful (and have done this before with success) i get no reply and wake up to a voicemail of some receptionist yelling at me??? yeah lets yell at depressed and anxious folks cos theyre out of medication. docs here have rarely been helpful either.

I had already shared a response to the year or so of treatment by Dr. Aken without responses and of course do to removal is gone now. Make sure the people who add bad remarks aren't having them deleted. 80 a visit cash no insurance. I feel as if I was used. Now I'm taking pills that aren't needed and I'm having to drop carefully. I agree that I too had to wait close to 30 minutes after my visit time scheduled. Intruped during meetings. Me and my own mother even walked out on Dr. Aken. Advise if the even stays up on here is. Don't see Dr. Aken it is difficult for me to even put his title as Dr.

Caitlin Peterson

I have been going here since highschool (I am now out of college) and this place is great. It has a peaceful atmosphere and nice staff. Any who, Dr. Aiken is a great psychiatrist. He is very knowledgeable and wants what is best for you. This place is stress-free and that is what I like most.

I saw one of the nurse practitioners. She was very unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and was more interested in her hair than me. She was messaging her boss the whole time and did absolutely nothing for me. One, After waiting for more than 30 minutes for an appointment that I arrived on time for, she acted like I had no right to be upset about having to wait. I went upstairs to try and reschedule and get a refund only to be followed by her and be treated rudely. Two, once I finally saw her, Instead of discussing alternative medications she argued with me about my current meds. If you don't know alternatives than don't knock what was working before I stopped being able to get it. Three, after telling her my symptoms, she began to argue with me about my diagnosis. I do not have bipolar disorder. I have been screened for it before and she does not seem to realize there are several similarities, but they are also very different. I am a counseling student and have done a lot of research on bipolar disorder and I know how it presents. She would not listen to me and just continued to argue with me. I left the appointment feeling attacked and never wanting to come back. She spent the entire appointment trying to find proof of Bipolar in what I was saying, even after we had ended the discussion. I feel she was trying to prove me wrong, not provide me with the respect I deserve. I should not have to argue with her about my diagnosis. I feel that she needs to read up on the difference between ADHD and bipolar disorder, including the different presentations of ADHD.

Sarah Campbell

This place got it right. They take a very holistic approach and don’t push medication. My therapist and doctor worked together to help me get off a lot of meds that I didn’t need. I’ve recommended the Mood Treatment Center to close friends and family and they’ve also had a good experience. When my insurance didn’t cover my medication they got it approved fast. It’s a peaceful environment and everyone seems to really care about what they’re doing. My doctor always answered my emails same day and even fit me in for an evening appointment when I needed help. Hands down, I highly recommend them.

I've been going to the Mood Treatment Center for around two years I believe? I'm so glad I found them because since I've been diagnosed and properly medicated, life isn't horrible as it was. I will admit, I am giving 4 instead of 5 because when I first few visits I went there, they seemed super pushy about prescribing meds, but I didn't listen to them until 5 months later after all-natural remedies didn't work for me and as I said I can't be happier now since I've began the medication. Also, I won't drop any names, one therapist there did blame me for something that happened in my life and I was upset about it, but I eventually stopped seeing them and started to see someone else. My new therapist is pretty awesome! I'll continue going to the Mood Treatment Center :)

Love the doctors, therapists, etc. The reception staff, however, has much to be improved upon.
