TMS was my miracle. I am 28 years old and have battled with severe anxiety and debilitating depression on and off for the past 4 years. The episodes come on when I am faced with certain stressful life events. For whatever reason, my body completely shuts down. I had to go on medical leave on two separate occasions. I couldn't work; I could barely get out of bed. The thoughts were overwhelming and lasted every single moment of the day. I had lost any inkling of inner peace. I have tried Lexapro, Xanax, Wellbutrin, Prosac, Ativan, Abilify, Zoloft, and Paxil. I experienced partial relief from some of these BUT it never lasted. He listened to my story for over an hour on our first phone call! It was clear he genuinely wanted to understand where I was in life and what I was experiencing. He gave me his undivided attention and that gave me a wonderful sense of hope. I set up a consultation immediately. I didn’t feel like one of many patients; I didn’t feel like he took pity on me or judged me; I felt understood. I started treatment shortly after the consult. Dr. Brottman made the process as easy and comfortable a possible! Yes it is a little nerve racking at first, but the sensation you feel on your head is totally do-able. For me it was completely worth it! I felt “the lift” after my 10th session, but finished 5 full weeks of treatment. I am a different person.
