I found Dr. Datta on a Google search and reading the reviews here. I was at my wits end with finding someone that was caring, intelligent, and that I could really trust to put my issues in their hands. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I did. I'm a person that's been through many many years of therapy with many different types of therapists and I can genuinely say this is the first time I feel like I'm speaking with somebody that is truly pushing me to be my best. Dr. Datta is highly intelligent, yet not intimidating or aloof, incredibly tactical when trying to help you solve issues yet constantly refers and looks to understand the bigger picture. From someone that's been in therapy for close to 20 years I can genuinely say this is the best psychiatrist I've had to date.

I have been Dr. Datta’s patient for over a year. My previous doctor had me highly overmedicated on medications such as Xanax and Adderall. I was a methadone patient before seeing Dr. Datta, even though he prescribes suboxone. With that being said, you may see why many doctors wouldn’t touch my case. I had the desire to get sober but I had a lot of unfortunate problems with my insurance. I felt that my insurance was dictating my treatment. Previous doctors told me that I needed 7 days of detox where my insurance only covered 3-4 days. Insurance also limited how much time I could have for rehab. I was desperate to find a doctor who would walk me through a comfortable, safe tapering of my controlled substance medications. I thought such a doctor didn’t exist and felt hopeless after being told by countless doctors “We don’t prescribe those medications.” I was also rejected by clinics and doctors because I was on methadone in combination with the controlled substance medications. (Xanax and Adderall). Doctors wouldn’t touch my case. Then I met Dr.Datta! He was willing to take me on at 120mg of Adderall a day and 8mg of Xanax. He and I decided on a taper schedule together. He is very professional and does not fill meds before they are due, but he is aware we are making a lifestyle change because we have been so dependent on these meds... so he does provide other non-controlled meds to make you comfortable! His extensive knowledge and the discipline and structure he introduced to my life was VERY helpful for me. It conditioned me to reduce my use. He walked me through what to expect during my taper. He prepared me for the emotional aspect and provided me with tools to cope with my feelings. He showed me ways to make it easier on my body and we worked together to go at a pace that made me feel most comfortable. My treatment is ongoing, but he changed my life in a profound way! I am now able to hold down a great job, I have a tremendous amount of confidence back that I thought was gone forever and I finally feel like myself again! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Datta to anyone who wants to taper down their medication. He is willing to take us patients that other doctors either don’t want to bother with, don’t have the expertise for or don’t have the patience, or desire to help!

Dr. Datta is excellent at helping couples with relationship dynamics. He helps each individual to see life through their partner's eyes and then guides them to get on the same page. Dr. Datta listens and responds thoughtfully to help you understand your feelings. He could save a couple 6 months of misunderstandings through just a few weeks of therapy.

Just horrible. After being bombarded with repetitive phone calls from both Dr. Datta himself and some assistant who never even presented his name, the office cancelled my appointment just an hour before. Not only did they waste a tremendous amount of time, they left me hanging while I was really suffering. Mental health is not a joke.

I'm a 63 year old man and I've been going to Dr. Datta for 3 years. He's very intelligent and personable and when I leave there I feel great. He's got a knack for helping people of any age and has given me useful techniques to cope with my anxiety. I feel like a different person now, with my anxiety all but gone. I feel normal again. Wow. Just the brief conversation in which we held he showed tremendous professionalism. He showed knowledge from not only a doctors point of view but a human's view. Dr. Datta is like a psychologist even though he is a psychiatrist. He is excellent at doing talk therapy and he understands relationships well. Dr. Datta allows me to realize why I behave in situations that surface in my day to day life- regarding work and in my personal life. He is basically my mentor in my cognitive development and suggests ways to improve my assumptions based off of past experiences. He helps me to improve my blurred vision of how to relate or connect to social relationships. In other words he is teaching me how to communicate with people. This is a broad development process but he is able to simplify the complexity to where I can grasp what he is explaining to me and zero in on how to realize what life situations are occurring without becoming disappointed.
