I have never had a major problem with this place. I think the majority of the people writing bad reviews don’t understand that this is how these services can be. Yes I have waited a while for my appointment, but they have never been rude to me at all.

Lauren DiChiara

I’ve been going to this place for years now and I’ve seen nothing but improvements over time. I see all these terrible reviews, but I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had a negative experience there. The staff deal with troubled & demanding clients all day and it seems that everyone thinks their own issue is more important than everyone else’s. I’ve been dealing with the same core staff for 5 years and as long as I’m respectful and patient with them, they’ve done nothing but work with and accommodate my medical needs. Sometimes there’s only one or two doctors (it seems like a bit of a revolving door for prescribing clinicians) and the office staff can only control so much. I don’t know everyone’s name off hand but Joy ALWAYS helps me out if I need a sooner appointment or if I need to come in for an emergency. It’s a clinic, it’s not a private practice in someone’s home office. Allow yourself an extra 20 minutes in case there’s a little wait. The last 4 times I was there for medication I was in and out in under a half hour. Good job guys, great improvement ✌

I enjoyed my groups there and trying to get my son an appt with Desanti as soon as possible. They are very accomidating...

From the reviews this office is alot like Stress Care 2 in Manalapan. So I figured I'd warn everyone here as well what I'm dealing with even in a different location. See below for stress care 2 review Update My insurance asked for pre-authorization for the medication I take which is normal... What isn't normal is the fact that I've had my pharmacy fax the paperwork over 3 times 2 of which I was told they "got it and will submit it" only to find out the next day that nothing has been done and then told that they don't have it and to leave a number to get a call back which I've done several times already... It's been 5 days without my medication and the only person that is able to help apparently works 30 minute shifts considering they are never there when I call.. even when I call at the beginning, middle, or end of the shift nobody is able to speak to me and everyone I talk to has someone else to blame which sounds alot like what this office is supposed to treat... I thought the name of this office was Stress Care not Stress Out. I've been on this since last Friday.... It's now Thursday and yet again nobody is able to talk and I was promised a call back... Let's see what happens ***Below this is 8 months ago**** Everytime I come here the wait is well over an hour before being seen. This is with an appointment. Please see about maintaining a better schedule for patients or let them know to free up the day since this is an issue that happens often. Update 2 people with later appointments than me have been seen first.... We all have the same doctor

One of the worst doctor's offices of any kind I have ever been to.

None of my experiences here have been good. They staff alone is rude and very unprofessional. No respect and they think they ARE always right even down to their billing department. My son had an appt and I called to confirm. THANK GOD I did only come to find out that the Dr. Geller is no longer in the Matawan office. If I didn't call I would have went there for nothing. They said they were telling people as they were confirming. I never got that phone call and why, because they didn't enter my information in their computer properly. My son is now seeing a new Dr. there because I can't make it there in time to the Manalapan office. Now my son will have to start ALL OVER again with a new doctor. Kids become comfortable with someone they need to stay with them. The wait time is ALWAYS over an hour long. You get NO return phone calls from the Dr's. I needed a diagnosis letter and they told me I had to come in and pay my CO-PAY of $40.00 in order to get the letter when my son was just there 1 week prior. I personally needed to be there to tell the Dr what to write. WHAT????? R U KIDDING ME! They need someone to come in and whip that place into shape! All the girls need customer service training! The only thing they have going is it's a clean office! I would never recommend this place to anyone! I wouldn't even give you one star but it wouldn't let me post until I did.

I think Stress Care has been very helpful. I am here for the second time as the first time was a 5 star rating as well back in 2015. I think the staff is excellent with counseling and prescriptions updates.

Mark Thrills

They tell me I need to be there twice this week, like I have a damn life, and i'm not trying to waste it on this useless program. Give me a reason as to why I should stay?

Keisha S

Just had a receptionist tell me "no matter what day you come in it's going to be busy", as I called to bump up my appointment. What does that have to do with anything? I swear the chicks in Matawan are just plan rude! More than half of the staff is gone including the person I saw regularly ( that I was actually comfortable with). I'm doing my research on where she's located now. The staff and wait times have always been horrible but now I'm getting stressed out...wait, this place is supposed to help manage your stress right? The front desk area needs to have an inservice on empathy and how to express it. Thanks Stress Care for stressing me out and causing a panic attack, much appreciated.****Update, still rude, appointments are being scheduled two months from the time you call and it seems that they’re not interested in answering phone calls unless you’ve been on hold for 30-45 mins. I’m listening to that recording while on hold and wondering...when does this stuff actually take place because it seems that NO ONE wants to help!

Shadowbrook Forever

The doctors seem to be restrained by a hideously incompetent and insensitive staff who have no business working in the field of patient care. Why any doctor would join this practice is beyond me. Insurance companies should investigate practices like these and their "policies" because they actually stand in the way of proper patient care. Rude, horrible, greedy practice of terrible little people.

Susan Novak

I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is in need of any of the many different varieties of care they offer. Every staff member is sincere & helpful. It's only been my second visit and I already feel welcome & comfortable.

Made a appointment 3 weeks ago and called to confirm nobody called me and instead of giving me a psychiatrist which I made an appointment for they gave me a therapist. So I immediately cancel the appointment and I'm not so sure I will ever go back there again and this was a first time appointment

Let me start of with a positive: I continued to go back for Dr. Lyubaov, she is genuine, diligent & just the best. Now...the place being poorly managed is an understatement! I have conventionally waited up to 1 .5 hours for an Rx and for actual PTSD or CBT therapy (I've heard others say up to 3.5). I have heard the others in the waiting room losing it, I have seen couples begin to feud (some of this is entertaining), I have heard kids or tweens completely go bananas in that lil rm. I have seen one of the many girlies they hire pretending to be secretaries (HELLO RENATA) bully and talk condescendingly to patients (These/we are people just a bit loss, some crying even, some unstable, all just patiently and inquisitively just wanting to know when they will be seen). To which as a social worker & zero-tolerance professional I have voiced my concerns & when I went for the suggestion box it disappeared. But this last time --- I am frigging done, they continuously double book & it is not in accordance to new patient, or emergency fill-ins, or schedule per doctor, nor schedule per day/hrs but personal or plain, old fashioned disorganization & ingratitude. I have gone there a yr (soon after my work-incident) and had chosen to perform a mini-social experiment in the waiting rm to find this as an 'AHA' result: that when it is barely empty they pretend not to see me (I suggest you always ask others for their appt times with which doctors) & let in others whose appts are later than mine before me claiming they missed me. I once had the doctor write a court letter for me (which I waited for like 2.5 hrs, took another hr to co-draft) and the spicy-borderline-nasty-think-their-too-cute-to-be-bothered-with-their-paid-duties receptionist (if you'd call them that) actually talked to me horribly because they chose to eat first (actually approved by the managing overseeing) and type it up riddled with typos. #1 priority should be get the patient in and out. It's TIME we as people start giving us the decency we'd like to see in the world - by taking it back for ourselves. BY not accepting or tolerating this crap for so long. When something or someone promises you relief and care & what you get is STRESS & headaches its not right WE deserve better, PLUS I'm sure we all have better stuff that need be done. Should the doctor open up her own practice she'd give them a run for their $ & I'd wait on that line (like those best buy black Friday ppl), just saying. Bety-Yessenia Catala, MA

This wasn't my first program I've tried going to one other place before but it didn't fit my needs like Stress Care did. They offer flexible schedules for their clients and you can see the staff really cares for their clients as they find every resource available for you and personalize your goals with you. Great place for treatment.

Jessica Capone

I’m sorry to say this place was a disappointment. I arrived for my first appointment, that I had waited three months for. When I checked in they did not have me scheduled in their appointment book. As I watched the unorganized staff scrambled through random folders I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. As I tried to clear up any miscommunication with the receptionist, I was rudely interrupted several times by other staff. Leaving me standing there feeling unimportant and forgotten. I was asked by the receptionist to try calling the original number that scheduled my appointment. When I called the number she answered the phone! It was at that moment that I realized this was not the type of place I wanted to be. It was obvious by their lack of professionalism and unorganized office this was not a right fit. I hope others don’t have to go through what I went through.

Really nice staff in Matawan but had bad experience with manalapan. As for booking the complaints are legitimate. Waiting at the one and a half hour mark past my scheduled appointment time. There's other frustrated people here too with the same issue. They need to get their scheduling process cleaned up. Otherwise it's a shame because the people here are nice and the scheduling is probably dictated by someone that's never here.

Ashley X

As a patient that had had issues with scheduling, wait times well over an hour, and billing issues, I continue to regret coming to this practice. Do not trust this place with your mental health. I have had the inconvenience of not being able to see my therapist for a month at a time, not once but twice. Once because they couldn't book an appointment for a regular client a month in advance, once because my therapist unexpectedly took a leave for personal reasons and NO ONE was able to advise me on alternative treatment options. These people have no respect for your time. They will move you around on the schedule without calling to advise you, and overbook (those that can prescribe medicine) to the point that the wait is CONSISTENTLY OVER AN HOUR. To add to the running list of problems I have with the practice is billing. There billing system was late and I always get bills about a month after the date of service. It is incredibly confusing to sort through when I was charged my copay at the time of service, and when I was paying for previous dates of service. This review was edited to expand on further issues. But the comment from owner was never addressed to me in person. No one ever apologized or offered anything to compensate for my frustrations ever. This practice is a law suit waiting to happen.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. I've been a patient for about 2 years and it saved my life! I've read reviews about the wait time and the reception staff and honestly they do the best they can! The facility try's to accommodate their large quantity of patients the best they can and it's not the receptionists fault that some of the doctors fall behind! It's called patience people! You go to this place once a month...relax! I love stress care and would highly reccomend it and actually have reccomended it to family and many friends...

4.90 out of 5 I have been. I'm a patient and I'm a retired Nurse. For the first time in 50 years I finally feel that their staff and group therapy Im Hope for what it is to be proud of who I'm as

I have been seeing Nicole at the Matawan location and she's amazing. It's very rare to find a therapist that you click with immediately, but she was that for me. She makes me feel seen and understood, and she's incredibly supportive and kind and empathetic. My life and mental health have improved immensely since I began seeing her. I really couldn't ask for a better counselor.

elizabeth jernstedt

It doesnt even make sense that this place hasnt been shutdown. Front desk was rude, wait time was 2 hrs...my consultation was with a “therapist” who did not even seem sane himself, was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. **lets just say the comment they left about “reaching out to me” was a month ago...have never heard from them**

Justin Banguela

The wait is very very long had an appointment a 1 waited till 3 ridicules, and the owner is rude some of the pchychiatrists are also nasty.

Vicki Bratton

Billing and administration are complete jokes! Counselors downstairs are great people, but overworked. Tried this place twice, and both times it ended bad. Of course, since you have "mental issues" they blame you. They refuse to admit errors, even when you get a lawyer involved. I even had an employee tell others that I was a patient there. They only care about money. Totally disorganized. It's a shame because some people work hard there, but it just turns out to be a circus. Every good therapist leaves within two years

Eric Morgan

If you are serious about helping your mental state or substance abuse problems, this is the place for you. The staff is nice, knowledgeable, and respectful. Unfortunately not everyone there is ready for help, and the wonderful clinicians are stuck with what they get. The Dr is knowledgeable but sometimes seem unavailable or “under the gun” when it comes to 1on1 sessions.

I have been coming to Stress Care for 6 years and I couldn’t be happier with the services I have received. Dr. Geller is an amazing psychiatrist and he always takes the time to talk to me and address my concerns. The office staff is very nice and helpful. I currently go to the Manalapan office and everyone is amazing there: Debbie, Christine, Mic and Marina just to name a few! The therapists are great and Rachel is wonderful to talk to. I would recommend Stress Care to anyone who needed the support! Thank you for helping me to achieve stability and a great state of mental health! ❤️

Gary Newman

This is the worst practice and is a prime example of how bad mental healthcare is in this country

Jonathan Mann

Customer service is absolutely dead here. The wait times are atrocious and 9 times out of 10 they forget you're even here and call back 5-6 people that checked in after you. Beyond frustrating. Then you say something and all these ladies behind the counter are beyond rude and disrespectful. Place is a complete dump. Save your aggravation and time!

Helped me out a lot.

The people here r very nice ,(especially Joyce, she tends to every body!) but i must say they do seem over worked and long hrs for themselves too. Every one has different situations when they come there, different stories and events. The staff is very nice and they try to be as understanding as possible to each and every person. i have seen that myself. I am a patient there and have never really looked at reviews until now, when i was in desperate need of moving my son to a new doc because the adolescent sector was closed down at another facility. they have patience and follow rules. Give them a break, some of these gals r there from 9 am to 8pm at night!!! If i could give them a 10 i would. i have never been to a doctor where u dont wait more than 30 minutes sometimes. its the type of practice. Dont stress yourselves!!! we r here for help not aggravate our selves over waiting times. i rather sit there and wait than deal with drama from the outside world. lol

Ashley Ternyila

They always over book their appointments and you end up waiting 45mins -2 hours to see your doctor . Debbie up front is rude and disrespectful .if you ask how much longer the wait she's snappy and doesn't give you an answer just tells you soon (it's never soon). I also have seen her multiple times talk badly and swear about other clients after they leave the room .plus she's always eating at her desk and talks with a mouth full of food. Not to mention the day I came in and there was another paitent waiting to see my doctor .This women was swearing and obviously upset there was someone with an appointment ahead of her, Debbie was so kind to point me out so the women could verbally abuse me in the lobby. All because they double booked .I've been going here since May 2017 and have seen no improvement and the office is just so unprofessional. I would give 0 stars if I could. I highly recommend you go somewhere else if you want serious medical help because this office is clearly a joke.

Lureking

Best place ever. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for my therapist, Laurie, and all the doctors I've seen, which there's too many to name. I came from driving a beat up 2002 Honda Civic to now driving a brand new $60,000 2018 Honda Civic Type R. I'm also 9 credits away from earning my Engineering Science B.S. and I plan on going to Grad school for my Masters and then my Ph.D and I attribute all of my success to NJ stress care. The medication they prescribed me is a modern-day miracle. I have so much energy, and I'm ready to conquer the world. Do yourself a favor and go.

My daughter has gone to Stress Care for years. Every time she’d get close to her Dr. they would end up leaving. She raves about her current Dr. who actually took the time and understood the disease in which she suffers from. Recently, due to a major flare up, It was impossible to make her appt. When she called to reschedule she was given a appt that would leave her short on medication. When she explained that to the young lady, she became rude. She was told to call back tomorrow to check for cancellations. Today she called explaining she was out of medication and “wasn’t feeling so good”. Again, she was told nothing was available and was rushed off the phone. When a patient who is chronically ill calls and explains they shouldn’t be treated like garbage. My daughter happens to respect and truly appreciate her current Dr. however the staff has now made our family a nervous wreck. Thank you. It should be a great 4 days. Very caring and professional! A angry and concerned Mother.

Bobby Putney

My experience has been much better than other operations. I'm always taken within a few minutes of an appt.

Diane Scalamonti

The doctors and staff at Stress Care have been lifesavers for me. I've never have a problem scheduling an appointment, as the staff will do their best to fit me in as soon as possible. The doctors have all been very kind and helpful, they never make me feel that they are too busy to listen. There have been times when I have had to wait longer than my exact appointment time, but I understand that this is the nature of this kind of service. I have recommended Stress Care to my friends when they have needed mental health services.

Waited a few hours to be seen. To many forms to fill out. They wouldn't see me until I payed my copay. I will never return to this place.

Courtney Eicholtz

Expensive af when the provider is extremely rude and rolls her eyes at you. Im in a wheelchair and the provider sits with her back to the door and doesnt even move a chair when i roll into the office.

isamar piedra

Unfortunately this office holds the most unprofessional staff. In particular a skinny Indian female who thinks she can talk to people in a rude manner, sassy and nasty way. She needs to be reminded of her place, position and lacks knowledge of who comes first (the patient!). So please do me a favor and stay away from nasty people of no use like her, thank you!

Zac Attack

This problem has occurred many times. I have appointments at 1, and hours later I get called. This is not how u run a business.

Diamond Star

I really hate this place. From the second i get on the elevator to go to the second floor to the second i walk up to the reception desk. I've been going here for about 8 months. The only reason i still show up is because this is the only place that i can find that works with my schedule so i can get refills on my medication. The front desk is so life less they never are smiling and that lady that sits in the back is a brat, Joyce i think her name is. The guy and lady receptionist that are usually there when i go look like they are always ready to give someone an attitude. No one ever knows nothing here but they are always quick to hand you a bill and of course their answer always is "call the billing department" And when you do no one picks up the phone so i waste my breathe leaving a message and never get a phone call back. and then when you complain enough they call back and the lady that deals with you is rude!!! no manners at all. The doctor or nurse practitioner i see is nice, but she never wants to hear how you are feeling and is just quick to write your scripts and get you out the door. The best part is she always asking "wait what meds are you on?" and when i tell her she says, "Oh really" like come on lady you have the computer right there in front of you. I cant speak about any therapists because i could never see one cause they are always booked at least 2 months out. A lot of people complain about the wait time but the longest ive waited was 30 mins past my appointment time. I can deal with the waiting. But the rudeness and carelessness the employees have is ridiculous. As someone who personally has worked in a mental health clinic before and someone who has mental health issues themselves this place SUCKS!!

The Matawan office is great! Love everyone that works there. My counselor Megan is awesome and so is my Dr. I’ve been going here a long time. Started with iop and now I’m in outpatient. These guys saved my life. UPDATE: this review is from another time. My name is Joanna Heyer. I still think this place is great. My doctor helped me get on the right combination of meds I need and my counselor Megan is amazing as well! Highly recommend.

I've been a patient at this facility for almost three years, and never had a bad thing to say about it until this past week. In fact I was the first person to DEFEND this place when others spoke negative about it.. Long story short, the staff dropped the ball on what should have been a quick & simple notification to my insurance company. A fax was to be sent from the office for approval for a prescription, apparently this was too much trouble for these women who work there. Glad I had the foresight to check back with my insurance to see if they had received this fax, when I was informed that they in fact, had not received it I called Stress Care and was told that Joyce would call me back. This was on Monday 8/8, it's now Wednesday 8/10. When I finally had my fiance call the office to see if he could get somewhere with these women, he spoke to who we think was Joyce, who had the audacity to ask him if I was taking more pills per day than what was prescribed to me. Instead of admitting that maybe she screwed something up, she tries to insult me as if I don't know what I'm talking about. Very passive aggressive. It blows my mind that this is the level of service we're receiving from a mental health care facility. Unfortunately, us patients end up being at the mercy of this staff- I'm now out of my prescription and have to go in this evening to see one of the doctors (mind you, my fiance was told this after my medication consumption was questioned) and I can only hope that this is straightened out in a timely manner so I don't end up having to pay out of pocket for my medication. I normally don't take the time to review online, but I felt that my situation needed to be shared, especially with anyone who was considering using this office. I'd like to reiterate that this is a MENTAL HEALTH care facility, and while I understand it is a business as well, you would expect a little more compassion & sympathy received from its staff. Once my fiance & I get this issue straightened out, I will be seeking treatment elsewhere.

andrew rossnagel

If you care about yourself or whoever is getting treatment please avoid this place. From the hour plus long wait times, sometimes two ( you're charged and cannot see a Dr. If you're 15 minutes late) to the unimaginably rude staff; to the therapists who couldn't care less and have the mannerisms of teenagers. It's an absolute tragedy how I've seen the receptionists speak to patients who need help the most. Joyce in particular has likely occupied hundreds of people's minds with unnecessary aggravation and disconcertion. She has no place in a career like this and is a major obstacle for patients seeking therapy. I hope people will avoid this place and find the help they need.

Cheta Cheez

I would give a lower rating if I could. The staff is very rude. I hate unprofessional attitudes in the workplace.

Paul Liuzzo

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I had no issue what's so ever. staff was nice and friendly. Dr was very knowledgeable and i felt a genuine care. I would recommend stress care.

Nora Leary

Rude, cold, and uncaring "doctors"

Ty Brown

I had a positive experience here ! The staff was super friendly and helpful . The doctor was very attentive and listened . I'd recommend them, despite all the negative reviews

Andrea K. Locke

While the staff is generally friendly and my son's therapist (Nicole) is caring and considerate, the amount of time I have to sit in the crowded, over-heated waiting room with 80's music and obnoxious ads blaring out of the overhead speakers--with my anxiety-ridden son--is unbearable. I drove 45 minutes and been waiting for almost TWO HOURS for a psychiatrist to WRITE OUT A PRESCRIPTION. Be warned, people. StressCare...causes stress.

Brooke G

As a patient who had been going the the stress care office in matawan, nj for over 7 years, I can honestly say I have never been happier. I truly don’t understand why there are so many poor reviews for these helpful therapists, psychiatrists, and staff. I must point out that Joy, the receptionist always knows how my two insurances cover my copay and I’ve never had a problem with billing. I had the pleasure of meeting another receptionist, Joyce, who was not only helpful with scheduling appointments, but was a pleasure to converse with outside in the office parking lot. She is very personable and treats each patient like they are worth something. As a patient of Laurie’s, I can honestly say I don’t have enough positive words to describe her. She has been my therapist for 7 years and I can trust her with anything and everything. She has never talked down to me and has always treated me like a mature adult. She has helped me through all of my problems and I’m 100% confident that she has changed my life for the better. Her techniques, tricks, and tips always get me through the two weeks until we meet again. Aside from therapy and the front desk, Dr. Desantis, the psychiatrist is the best and only psychiatrist I’ve ever seen. When I was in panic, not knowing what was wrong with me, she evaluated me, treated me like a sane person, as I am, and prescribed the right medicine from the start. Since then I have never gotten off of it and I couldn’t be happier with my life.

BEWARE!!! This place is horrible!!!!. I really believe any polite reviews are from the staff themselves. The woman Marina in OOP is extremely rude and nasty and should really find another job that does not consist of a role dealing with people. This woman is rude on the phone, talks about people when she hangs up. My mother heard her talking about me after her hanging up on me one day, more than once. I have left several messages for her supervisor "spanish woman with hard name to pronounce" regarding this matter and the lack of responces, of course no return phone calm. I have expressed these concerns to Lyndsey who seems very passive and just appologizes but oviously resolves nothing, because this women is still doing the same damn thing. My mother is there currently, as we are trying to get her out of there. The main operators on the higher level seem way more professional and helpful. But the downstairs OOP in this place SUCKS!!! I do not write reviews often. The only reviews I actually go out of my way to write are the ones where a buisness or faciluty exceed my expectations in a good way. As well as the companies that are poorly managed, disrespectful, rude and dismissive to the people who are paying "insurance" their salaries. I would really like to know who are the owners of this place and how can they possibly think this behavior is ok. The fact that I have expressed this woman Marina's bad attitude to a supervisor, a caseworker and she is still doing the same thing is beyond me. Places like these should be helping people, not creating more anxiety with their lack of respect and compassion. I truly am disgusted and strongly urge you to consider other facilities.

Jonathan Braun

Long wait times, lazy uncaring dcotors (though the receptionists are nice), and the doctors throw random pills at a problem rather than try to grt an accurate diagnosis. Terrible place.

I do not even know where to begin with how disgusted i am that this place has so many patients , i have been a patient for quite some time and am now going elsewhere The staff at the front desk is COMPLETELY unprofessional and RUDE RUDE RUDE! The lady with short brown hair and glasses at the front desk actually fought with me and had a horrible attitude and was cursing at me she is lucky i don't know her name and report her!! The staff needs to realize they are working at a MENTAL health job , which means there is something mentally emotionally going on in their patients lives the least you can give us is a little respect !! They are not sensitive to their patients needs, and the psychiatrists don't care they take you in and out in 5 minutes like factory chickens! I am glad Dr diague has left because every time i would go to her she would almost laugh at what i would tell her goes on in my head and than push me right out the door in five minutes This place is an entire SCAM so needless to say , GO elsewhere !!!!!!

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I had an appointment 4 MONTHS in advance and was cancelled on 2 HOURS before my appointment . I'm about to be out of my medication of which I have been on the past 3 years. The next availability for an appointment is in JANRUARY. Please, if you can, go somewhere else. They have horrible ratings for a reason.

With all the bad reviews, i feel the need to review my positive experience. i recently had an urgent situation due to a serious personal problem going on in my life. i spoke with joyce in the matawan location on a monday morning. she was very sympathetic and understood the severity of what i was going through. she squeezed me in for an appointment and greeted me with a smile. For me, that morning, she was lifesaver. I truly appreciate everything she did and continue to have my appointments with no problems.

AnnMarie Chionchio

I use Stressed Care's practitioners as my primary mental health care provider and I really like them. The Matawan office is pleasant and clean, the receptionists are always helpful and courteous and I always feel comfortable with any practitioner I've seen. I'm glad I moved so close to them in Old Bridge because it's a breeze going in for my monthly visit :) Over all I'm very happy with their services and definitely recommended!

Alison Perez-Cabret

Patricia Laush

They are really nice and they try hard to get appointments the problem is many patients not enough help

Jackie Kenny

I don't know why people are bashing stress care. I've had nothing but great experience here. They always squeeze me in when they can. All the receptionist upstairs are awesome! :)

Christopher Garrett

This place triple books and you wait forever for your appointment. The only time I have stress in my life is when I visit Stress Care of NJ

MidGuy .

Been going here for a while now Friendly staff and always caring.

Melissa Wilhelm's

Wow!!!! Called to see if I could come in for my appointment ahead of schedule. Turns out my appointment was canceled without nothing me. The psychiatrist left on medical leave. Great communication

Kylie Reid

Everyone here is so friendly and understanding! The wait can be a little long but it’s not a huge deal. Other than that I have no complaints!

Joe Adelfio

This place is an instance scam. 2.1 stars on yelp out of 5 but the have a revolving door of people? The woman at the front was completely unprofessional and rude. I had my appointment for weeks and she blamed me for not answering the phone the night before when she had an issue with insurance. Maybe if she didn't wait til the last minute she wouldn't have to blame someone. Funny part is I never received a phone call from this incompetent people. They should be investigated by the insurance commission. They don't care about people, they care about taking people money. Karma.

Shaun Buzzelli

I went to stress care for SEVERAL YEARS and consistently had issues with scheduling and the psychiatrists on staff. I've waited more than 2 hours longer than my scheduled appointment because, I feel, they over-schedule. They take so many insurances, which is great, but I feel that because of it, they take advantage of people who suffer from mental health issues who are looking for affordable care. The psychiatrists on staff are hit or miss. I used to see a doctor by the last name Greenwood, who once made my mother come into his office, because I wouldn't follow his medication regimen. I was over the age of 18, and explained to him that I didn't want sleeping meds because they gave me nightmares I couldn't wake up from. He didn't care and said that I was his patient and had to follow the instructions he gave me, like I had no option. Needless to say, I stopped seeing him. Then, I saw a doctor by the last name Neelgund. He was proficient in finding the right medications to balance me. After seeing him for some time, he unexpectedly left for India, and I wasn't given any notice. I was scheduled to see a female psychiatrist instead, who was incredibly rude. That's when I stopped going. I can only imagine how much worse it has become. Stress care wasn't so bad in the beginning, when their location was above the bank in the shopping plaza with Art of Hair. I used to be familiar with the few girls they had behind the counter, and the services were very accommodating.

Nick Dzioba

Unlike others, I have only gone here once. My first visit was with a nurse practitioner who was absolutely awful. She didn't seem to care about me at all. So much so that she even took a personal call while I was in the office with her! Additionally, she yawned obnoxiously. I requested a different person for my next visit and will report back with my findings.

Cengiz Aksan

I have a horrible experience with this service. Waited over hour and half and had to leave. I was billed incorrectly, they have never submitted the claim to my insurance company. I called their billing number numerous times, never spoke to a person, left many messages without a response, sent a letter with no response. Three months past and the issue is still open without any response. I will have no choice but to file a complaint about Stress Care with my Insurance company.

Ed De Mott

Always overcrowded and people wait an hour or more to be seen for their appointments with the doctors. Therapists aren't as overbooked

Johanna Cruz

Always a long wait

Ramaia Ruperto

I would never recommend this place to anyone ever again I talked my son into going there he went to both facilities and neather one would lesson to what he was going through as soon as they experienced one of his episodes they passed him over to another facility and gave him the number to this facility for him to set up on his own, like they couldn't even be bothered to set him up with this new place just as long as they didn't have to do deal with him and do there job and what they are supposedly professionally be medically certified in the mental health care system, WHICH THEY ARE MOST DEFINITELY NOT!!!!

Andrew

Every time it's an hour wait because they're "a little behind". This time I came in and the receptionist told me my appointment had been canceled because my CP was on vacation... no call, no voicemail. And as I'm standing here writing this, listening to her cancel more appointments for today. Won't be back again.

Daniel Bauer

Absolutely the worst experience. Have to wait over an hour after my scheduled appointment time every time. I always see someone new. Rarely the same person twice. Staff and doctors are very rude and unfriendly. Avoid at all costs.

Aubrey Conway

Don’t even bother. You will wait an hour for your appt no matter what, even if they call and confirm. It’s been that way for years. Joyce is kind but that’s about it. I’ve never been to any other dr that asks ME “what prescriptions (they’re) supposed to write for (me) today”, doesn’t realize they’re in someone’s chart until half way through the appt, and THEN asks my name.

Joe

I've been coming here for 3 years. During that time, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been seen within 30 minutes of my scheduled appointment. Last time I was here, I was 10 minutes late due to traffic (the first time that had happened in 3 years), and I was berated by the receptionist and the doctor, who both threatened to withhold my prescription refill and make me reschedule. I was here 15 minutes early for today's appointment. It's currently 45 minutes after my appointment was scheduled, and I'm still sitting in the waiting room. Furthermore, I don't think I've seen the same doctor twice in a row in over a year and a half. It's a revolving door of staff, and they are constantly canceling and rescheduling appointments. Very frustrating. I'll likely be looking for a new practice in the future.

DJ SUGE NICE

I was attending stress care from, late may until they rudely and heartlessly kicked me out! All because i was hospitilized with pancreatitis? Go figure,There are a number of people there who have other chronic illnesses than Just mental.I was told by my clinician Christina, that i would be better off at a facility with a doctor on staff? Again made no sense at all!I believe they wanted me gone because i was a quiet person during processing due to the fact that i am introverted. And there were people there that they got a kick outta being clowns and disruptive people that enjoyed being class clowns! I was there to get help for Bipolar depression not there to be a comedien! and they get rid of me? and send me away without medication or any follow up calls to see if i was still alive!Im still going through severe depression i just finally found a facility after going 3months without medicine or counseling!Heartless move by people i trusted to help and i believed in!I wouldnt recommend this heartless facility!Yes im still alive Stress care! No thanks to you!

Lisa Amiano

I have been coming here for almost 6 years and I see many negative reviews...I could not agree LESS...yes sometimes there’s a wait but if you were the person having a rough time and needed 10 more minutes with your provider would you want him/her to cut you off? “Sorry, times up, get out!” I find the staff friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Dr Geller is wonderful and has helped me tremendously...others therapists have helped my children as well...I could easily go someplace closer to home but I wouldn’t even consider it...thank you to all the doctors and staff at Stress Care NJ!

Amber Everette

Absolutely horrible, and rude, my doctor had left after I went there about 4 times, and I'm glad she did. She was very rude, constantly on her phone, not listening to what I had been saying.

Paul Lambert

100% worst medical experience of my life. Completely unprofessional staff and business. You would think that they would be more conscious and attentive to a patients needs, being that it’s a “stress center”. After waiting three weeks for an appointment and rescheduling my day, they claimed to have call me to cancel my appointment, which they did not. I will be making sure to tell anybody I speak to that they should avoid this place at all costs.

Wy Grodet

The reception staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and always keep tabs on you to make sure you are doing alright when you get there. It only took them a few visits and now they greet me by name as if we were old friends. They call you well ahead of time to make sure you don’t miss your appointments. They are very accommodating and try to set up visits that work with your schedule. The psychiatrists actually listen to your problems and know exactly what medication to give you... I personally recommend Constance M. because she helped turn my life around. I used to take 7 different pills a day and suffer constant panic attacks, Constance reduced my intake to just 3 pills and now I rarely ever suffer panic attacks anymore. The therapists are warm, encouraging, and easy to open up to... especially Meigan F., she is wonderful at helping you realize your goals. I’m originally from Brooklyn and am very happy I moved to NJ if for no other reason than because Stress Care is such an exceptional institution... and because it’s nice and quiet in Old Bridge. I started with group therapy 3 times a week and it really helped me get out of my shell. So much so that I began looking forward to each session, and I was a very closed person who hated crowds and meeting new people. Now I go for weekly therapy sessions and I’ve never felt so motivated in my life! I can’t even begin to express my gratitude to everyone who knows me there.

Nicole Depeppo

AWFUL, waited two hours to be seen with a appointment!

kathlyn edwards

I am so thankful we found this place. The office has been nothing but courteous and they do call and confirm my daughters appointments. I also have wonderful communication with her Dr, he is a fantastic therapist and very communicative. I would highly recommend him.

Jordan Tuey

The first time I came here there was trash next to my seat left by someone else that looked like it has feces on it. The office is very small and hard to walk through. The staff at the front desk are not very friendly. Everytime I've been here I've had to wait over an hour after my set appointment to be seen. My doctor was hard to understand, very quiet and doesnt seem to care about waiting patients. Even said when I questioned the wait time "I won't get home until after 7 tonight". I would not recommend this place to anyone trying to seek any help. It's a complete waste of time and very unprofessional.

Bad Julie

KATHLEEN ANDERSON

I have been a patient there for 3 years & never had one bad thing to say about this place but now that dr Luba is gone that place is a nightmare. I do not recommend to anyone to go there. I have had nothing but bad issues since. Wouldn't recommend this ass backwards place to a sole.

Jessica Manucci

I have to thank Stress Care for saving my life. My psychiatrist and the guidance of my therapist helped me through one of the most difficult situations in my life. All the doctor's really care about the patient they always take the time to focus on me and my needs. Each time I would be crying in the therapists office, I would walk out like a new person. Scheduling appointments and being squeezed in during emergencies is always possible here. The front desk staff is accommodating and personable trying to make it a pleasant environment to be in even when it's busy. They will always get you in when you need an appointment- considering the last place I went to that accepted my insurance, told me it would be a 2 month waiting list! The place itself is very clean and pleasant to visit. As a plus, i even heard they are working on expanding the parking lot!

Jess Wishnick

Ryan DeNino

They're always professional and courteous. The front desk works with you exceptionally well If you need to change an appointment. Recommended to all.

Kristin Poulsen

Seriously when are they ever going to get their wait times under control? We have no other choices for behavioral/mental health because almost no one accepts insurance. But for years they have over scheduled and the doctors constantly and 2-5 patients behind. Other doctors offices would get a new office manager of this continued to happen.

Super Vent Bros

Alayna Manno

Absolutly terrible. Went there for the first time today and the doctor was asking me questions (as expected) about my family. I was unaware of one of the answers and he then proceeded to ask if i was demented because i couldnt remember the answer. i was so enraged i left.

Jacquelyn Phillips

I`m not quite sure of all the bad reviews on here. My family and I have had nothing but a good experience at stress care for the past few years. The girls at the front desk have been nothing but nice and accomidating and the staff has greatly improved the past 2 years. This office is just like any other office as for the wait time. I have waited over an hour for my pcp and gastro doctor so its really not fair to judge.

Regina Ramos

Everyone at Stress Care knows me by my maiden name Regina Mireau so I want to make sure that is noted. This review is based strictly on Nicole Drake from the Matawan location. I will review other portions later, but I feel this needs to be noted ASAP. Before I begin discussing Nicole, let me give you a bit of background. I have been a patient of stress care for almost 5 years now. I’ve seen many changes in your programs, gone through some personnel changes (Ryan just had to move! Lol) as well as supporting staff member changes ( Jessica, Joyce and Amed are amazing) so I feel that you should take what I am saying not with a grain of salt but as sound and concise information. I have not seen as great as an improvement in myself with any of my previous therapist than I have with Nicole D. She gives me everything I need weather I want it or not. Do not take that as a negative as many people do not know what they need as far as therapy is concerned and having a therapist who can provide both is extremely rare. We have explored coping skills that was never identified useful to me before. Since the discovery of my sensory seeking needs (something that is traditionally used outside of my diagnoses) I have been able to manage my PTSD with effective strategies. Her approach of looking beyond the diagnosis and more to what applies to the person itself is the best approach I have had used in the 20 years of therapy I have had. Nicole cares, and I don’t mean “ I care about all of my patients”, she shows true signs of caring. You know the list of things people say to show they care, she says/ does those on a regular basis and it’s genuine. Her interactions with me and her other patients (from what I see in the waiting room) are realistic and whole hearted. I truly believe she cares about my well being, and this is based upon actions, not words. As I stated before, this isn’t my first time with a therapist, and I am extremely critical on who I see because I know the kind of people who can work with me and visa versa. I take my health pretty dam seriously and have become very picky over the years. I’ve seen her adapt her style with me, accept my feedback and even ask for my opinions which helps me take ownership to what we are doing together. Let me be clear, YOU DO NOT SEE THIS OFTEN. Finally, I would like to address her flexibility, which in turn also reinforces her care for her clients. She will do the best that she can to get me in to see her. I, as many are, have a crazy schedule sometimes and she works her butt off to make sure she can accommodate me. If you are still reading this review, thank you for taking the time to do so. I am a firm believer that you give credit when it is due and I will owe her for my lifetime. P.S. If you didn’t already get the hint, she’s a good one.

Steven Schwartz

Never before have i seen such a incompetent team of "professionals" between waiting over two hours every visit just to see a doctor and the ignorance the doctors display is laughable. I was out of medication for two days because their doctor promised to fax my scripts to my pharmacy and never did. I actually had to drive to the facility after being on hold and ignored for two days and still didnt receive my meds telling the doctor i can have a seizure if i dont get them. They didnt care. Wouldnt recommend this place to my worse enemy. The only people here who care are the office manager joyce and the interns. Doctors couldnt care less about your well being just there for a paycheck

Barbara Napolitano

Sitting here at 2:59 pm. Had a 2pm appt. At 2:45 I asked how much longer it would be and was told there were still two people ahead of me. Crowds of people waiting whenever you come to this pace, and the doctor isn’t that personable. Update-I was finally called in at 3:15, and was out at 3:25. Neither reception, nor the doctor apologized for the long wait. They never stated there was a crisis and/or they were running behind.

MARGARET MORKEVICH

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS YOU MAKE TWENTY PEOPLE APPOINTMENT PER TIME SLOT. PUSH PILLS. ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY AND TREAT ALLL DRUG ADDICTS AND ARE THE REASON FOR YOU OVERDOSES. Total pill mill. Anyone that disagrees did not watch what I saw my Daughter go through. Don't comment "oh you don't know what you're talking about " you don't know what I witnessed. If you have had a good experience. Then good for you. Pill pushers

Mea Pearson

I'm currently a patient in both the IOP and PHP program. I love the clinician I was assigned and many others who work here. Like any other place, you have to figure out which clinicians you click with and which ones you don't .When it comes time to process in group, you figure out which clinicians you'd rather speak with and which ones you wouldn't. Some seem to lose control of the group and a process can monopolize the group, unfortunately. However, there are a few who lead group well and keep it paced normally and fair to everyone in the group. My clinician has helped me with booking appointments and navigating parts of health insurance I didn't understand. The nurse practitioner who prescribes meds is very mindful and will work with you to get you on the right medication. I highly recommend this place for people hoping to improve their lives.

Denise Kozak

Joyce has helped a member of my family during a crisis on more than one occasion. She is so sympathetic and compassionate. I cannot even put into words what this has meant to me and my family! Absolute lifesaver. Thank you!! Forever thankful

Rachel Napper

I cannot say enough good things about this group. Everyone I’ve come into contact with here has been extremely helpful and accommodating, especially the front desk staff. I feel as though I’ve known them for years. I recommend their services to anyone looking.

Stephanie Lamonica

My daughter use to go to the Matawan location always a long wait , we decided to try their new place by freehold, we had an appointment this morning with the practioner and were in and out this was actually are second visit. I felt the need to write a review because of how different both office's are. apn was very informative.Front desk girls are friendly (you can actually approach them) I have a crazy work schedule, but the girl with the black long hair gets my daughter in last min without any trouble. This office is a definite YES. Will most definitly continue to do business with them.

Glen Rosenthal

This place is the worst. As I write this I've waited an hour and 10 minutes past my appointment time, and it's been like this every time. Definitely calling my insurance tomorrow to find a new place.

Molly Sykes

If your appointment is at 11:00 don't bother showing up until at least 1:30. They're never even close to being on time. My doctor was judgmental and had the dryest personality Humanly possibIe. I stopped going and have less anxiety now than while I was being treated. It's a horrible place and I'll never go back.

Kathy Kelly

Dont waste your time! Stress care? More like let's add more stress! I had one provider not listen to MY NEEDS I mean after all that's why I'm there and he could care less. No matter what I said it just didnt click to him. I had to call and get someone higher up to come in and talk to for them to just tell me he wasent understanding what I needed help wise. They fixed that issue. That there was STRESSFUL! Then I go see a therapist for the first time to only listen to her life then mine. I thought I was in the twilight zone. I got 45 min. 10 min of me and the rest was about her life. Then she says she will see me next week only to find out they dont have anything til the END of October. That's over a month away. I'm just not sure how I can get any help here. Not throwing in the towel yet but it sure does play a toll on your stress and anxiety! GOOD LUCK!

K C

The treatment you get from the therapists and Dr.D is AMAZING, Meghan is the best, I actually hate when I miss a therapy apt. With her or she's booked, bc I walk out feeling a weight is lifted off my chest each time, everyone needs an outlet. Dr.D is professional, listens, and treats by what's good for you, they don't force meds down ur throat. This office is above and beyond the Manalapan office, that office is a train wreck, ur lucky if you get seen 2 hours after your scheduled apt. Front desk personnel are always friendly, and help the best they can. You sometimes have to wait but never more then 30 mins bc they really do try to accommodate everyone. I've recommended this office to many ppl, and will continue to do so. Started feeling myself again ever since I started with stress care Matawan office!! Can't thank you all enough!!

Givan Tineo

If I could give a zero I would. The receptionists are rude and snappy. They seem to forget patients are the very thing keeping them employed. Especially Joyce, EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Do NOT come here!!

Melissa Neupane

Just went here today and this place was awful. Staff at front desk were not friendly at all. I get called and told to go to a room, they don’t even escort you. I walked in and doctor is sitting at a desk with a computer and she was the most unprofessional and indifferent doctor I’ve ever met. The whole set up in the room is very unfriendly and cold. The doctor had an attitude and was very dismissive. She acted like she had better things to do than be there and had no interest in the patients well-being. She was also quick to write a script and get you out of there and they had no available appointments to see a therapist for over two months out. I will definitely not be going back nor recommending this place to anyone.

Danielle Ternyila

This place is awful. I've waited up to 2 hours for an appointment I had scheduled months in advance, yesterday waiting a full hour. I made my appointment months back and came on 12:10 for my 12:30 appointment. I wasnt seen until 1:30, for my doctor, Dr. Pal, to still not even recognize me and ask "is this our first time meeting each other?" For an office that is supposed to help people feel better, they honestly do the worst job. They overbook all appointments so they are never on time and it is just sad that they will treat their patients that way. Waiting the waiting room, receiptionists do not care and are happy to tell you off and treat you poorly when you ask to reschedule due to THEM not being prepared to see you on time. Never seen such unprofessional service somewhere in my life. Please, save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. It's not worth it. Go somewhere you are appreciated and they want to help you.

M K

This is the absolute worst office of doctors and admin. You never see the same doctor twice. The social worker is too young and not experienced. They care about themselves not their patients.

Mohan Kumar

Just avoid this place. Very unfriendly and unorganized place.

Jeremy H

Came in for a Saturday appointment with the nurse practitioner, reviews through me off but this place was actually really pleasant. Jonor was really good. The girls at the front were very helpful, very polite and really helped me get in there early because of the situation I was in. Wait was not terrible at all. Everyone was really positive, I am definitely keeping weekend appointments. Really wish they had a weekend therapist! 5 stars

Peter Rappleyea

Ever since I've been going to stress care everyone has has been great. The receptionists are very helpful and polite. My therapist is great, I always look forward to coming to my sessions. I would definitely recommend stress care to anyone .

Mary Arrondo

I have had a good experience up until today. Tried calling for an appt but the message at the place just continually loops around over and over with no live person picking up. And no option to leave a voicemail. Ugh...

Nancy Daino

Nicole and Marley are the best! Once you find your team you will be so happy here!

heylo krn

Terrible customer service. Our appointment was set at a certain time, and an hour later, we still didn't get to see the psychiatrist. We had to reschedule the appointment b/c it was getting too late, and my caretaker has to take another day off from her job just so I get my medication.

Crypto Pro

10/10

Jessica Moore

Absolutly terrible. Went there for the first time yesterday will never go back. Wasn't even done filling out the paperwork and they were calling you back into the room. The whole time the doctor asks questions while looking directly at her computer. Before it was over she started talking about herself and how she wishes she was home with her kids instead. Definitely would not recommend them to anyone. It make you feel worse when you leave there when you came.

Megan Salva

I could not recommend this place to anyone. I ended up going here because there is literally no where else in the area. They double-book, it’s common to wait up to an hour. There are not enough doctors. Everything is uncomfortable. They push pills. They will not allow you to see a doctor or therapist unless you have your entire payment, even if you’re in a dark place. I will never ever recommend this place.

Jane Pearl

I've created an alternate email to write this review as I don't want to post it publicly under my name but I have been a patient here for about 12 months for medication management. I am glad that my condition is well controlled because I do not think this facility would be able to provide adequate care otherwise. Several of the staff members are very cold/rude and have never apologized for scheduling errors made. It is as if patients are an inconvenience to them. I understand it is a difficult job but many of your patients would benefit from a little kindness. While I like my doctor, it is unfortunate that the facility itself does not concern themselves with adequate and compassionate patient care.

Peter van Vliet

So far so good. My doctor seems a bit frazzled, but is all business once we got started. It's a busy place and you can expect to wait a bit, which is not unusual. So far the staff has been very accommodating. I got my appointments mixed up (my fault) and they were able to get in me in. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that they play vapid modern pop music in the lobby pretty loudly, but at least it's not another TV with reality programming. Bring headphones and a book.

Martha Santiago

My son attends the IOP program and the clinicians have been able to make him comfortable enough to talk. I can see him using some of the coping skills he’s being taught. They also seem to maintain a respectful atmosphere and control of them. Once a week they have family group in which we get to share and touch on any struggles without judgement. I highly recommend this facility.

ryan harris

stres care of mattawan has some really good people there eveyone the cliniceans do a wonderfull job they go above and beyond to help you there drivers that pick you up in the mrning and bring you home are great guys there always kind and on time to best of there control there group meetings gave me hope in my darkest momments and made a very better person i will always be greatfull to strescare for they and all the others helped me take my life back

Jade Kolatsky

My ENTIRE family attends this facility. I can’t express in words how much of a positive impact they have helped made. I HIGHLY recommend taking at least the time to look into joining if for whatever it is you may be going thru. Thank you NJ STRESSCARE!!

Dennis Isenburg

Megan is the real MVP here. Good listener, good advice and very compassionate. I don't get why this place has such bad reviews. Both receptionists I encountered were both helpful and polite. Thank you Meg <3

Lure

Amazing. Everyone is friendly and knows me by name. I've been to a lot of different places and this is by far the best.
