They made me put my purse and they forced it wen i got out my purse they robed me of all my cash 50$plus . The locker i took with me the keys but i guess they can use any key... Very upset

In June of 2013, I left Rockland Psychiatric Center against medical advise and signing myself out was the best thing that I ever did. The Therapy Aides who worked at RPC. were nasty people who treated the patients as if the patients were a subhuman species. Being at RPC. made me worse and not better. RPC. was so bad that I will call RPC. an "anti-hospital" because it makes people angry and worse. The hell hole called RPC. should be investigated and the people who run it be fired and put in prison. RPC is a bad place. For the record, the unit that i was on when I signed myself out was Bldg. 60, unit 506.

I don't think this is actually a physchiatric center anymore. It used to be one. More aptly, it should probably be called "The Old Rockland Physchiatric Center," or "The Abandoned Rockland Physchiatric Center." Anyways, it was pretty cool.

I live here I recommend Cathleen she does a great job.She is very nice she gave me nice flavored medicne. I love this place it is so big and fun for people like me.

This place is horrible. It is full of wheelchair bound people that are abused. One senior citizen had been punched. Jail gets in and causes problems as well. Shut this place down.

I called to get help for my bipolar disorder, which I just moved to Rockland County NY and it is near impossible to find a psychiatrist, and the person who answered said if I'm having an episode I should go to an emergency room. They won't do anything for me at an ER if I'm having a bipolar episode, other than make me wait for hours and send me home with a note to follow up with a psychiatrist. She then said to call back in the morning. Yeah, for a person with bipolar depression who is having an episode and is reaching out for help tomorrow morning might be too late. Just saying.

I’ve witnessed first-hand acute lithium toxicity in a patient already on a plethora of different mood stabilizers and antipsychotics. Patient had been prescribed NSAIDs PRN.. that’s a big no no on lithium. Anyway, the patient had been exhibiting new symptoms of catatonia, muscular dystrophy, and he was a little jaindice. I confronted the attending about it, who seemed embarrassed and tried to scramble for a possible explanation. Not the first time I’ve witnessed abuse or gross neglect. **healthcare professional

First off, yes the SnakePit is still in business. Some buildings are being demolished & sold; it's not abandoned. The place only requires a G.E.D for staff; the ones with morals retired. It's insanity enough to give anyone ptsd and your safer in jail or prison. It is horrific! They Sheriff's get calls of patients raping other patients, feces on walls, you cannot rationalize with people that degree of delusional. Nothing to do stare at walls. Patients spit pills put instead of take them. Food sucks. It dabgerous. Cuidate!
