Dr Wei Wang is extremely unprofessional and has a rude staff. I had an appt today and when I got to the shabby small office I was told that I had to pay the rest of my deductible before seeing the doctor. I told them that she is a specialist and it should just be a $60 co-pay. The girls working there said they are not allowed to call an insurance company more than once to verify patient coverage and that they left me a message yesterday informing me of the payment. I showed them my voice messages on my phone and there was nothing from their office. I then asked if I can call my insurance company and they said it was fine. So I called and within 5 minutes I got one of their reps on the phone who confirmed since it is considered a standard office visit - and it is just the $60 co-pay. I proceeded to hand the phone to the girl and she said she was not allowed to speak with them as per Dr. Wang. Seriously? Then Dr. Wang heard there was a problem since her office was right outside reception and called her employees in to discuss. She could have just asked me, but instead she ignored me and told her staff to tell me that time is money and that they cannot speak to the insurance agent who was on hold waiting to speak with them. This would have been less than 1 minute of their time! Dr Wang is apparently very strict with her policies and is constantly watching the clock like a drill sergeant. They said half my session has now gone by between filling out all of the forms and discussing my insurance benefits. Really, and who's fault is that? Tell people ahead of time that there are ten forms to fill out and arrive early then. I was told they would let me reschedule for next week or I could try another doctor. After driving 30 minutes there and back, and having the doctor open her door, look right at me in their non busy tiny office and not even acknowledge me, I decided she is a witch and I will go somewhere else. Also, FYI - their policy is that you have to see one of their therapists first - even if you have been seeing a doctor for years and just want to renew your meds.

Well where to begin? Ive been going to this office for nearly 3 years now. There's been some bumps in the road but here I am! I just want to start by saying that I am deeply confused by the people who say she's a drug dealer?? That literally had me laughing! She's the most anti illicit drug person/doctor I've ever met in my life. She doesn't even want her patients smoking cannabis and even drug tests patients if they need a controlled substance. So that's certifiable hog wash and really a low blow on the part of former patients. I have and probably will continue to get frustrated at times here with insurance/billing as my insurance did change a few times (sorry for my attitude staff!), but it always gets resolved and has been better more recently which is most important. Dr. Wang is quick, to the point and definitely has no time to waste so in my experience appointments have mostly been rather brief especially once she sees improvement. She's almost always right though so I can't complain about the quality of treatment I have received here because it has been rather good. If you really want to have a chat - go to her counselors! I have been seen regularly by 3 counselors over the years. The first really helped me when I was seriously struggling in the beginning of my treatment but left the practice abruptly which made me feel kind of abandoned, so that was a little weird. My second counselor was nothing short of amazing and had an even better approach towards helping me but ended up moving out of state. My current counselor has gone above and beyond for me and is yet another gem of this office. I guess I've stuck it out despite any bad feelings or experiences I might've had at times and it was very much worth it to me. So overall, thank you :)

Dr. Wang and her staff are very efficient and knowledgeable. I have been a long term patient over 5 years. I'm very happy with the service. My quality of life has improved as a result of her treatment. I would recommend her to a friend.

Gueddy Martinez

Dr. Wang is an amazing psychiatrist. She is extremely knowledgeable. When it comes to medication she is very thorough and does not overmedicate. My therapist Tasia is one of the therapists that work there as part of her practice. Her patience, compassion, and overall knowledge truly has helped me. They are perfectly in synch when it comes to the patients needs and mental health. I highly recommend them.

Jane M

I appreciate Dr. Wang's approach to mental health. She is the first doctor to actually mention weaning me off of medication as the end goal. It's kind of bizarre reading the negative comments people have left here. Sometimes the wait times can be long, but it's probably (hopefully) for a good reason, like a patient needs more time with the doctor due to an issue. Dr. Wang has always acted professionally and reasonably during my appointments over the last few years. You have to give respect in order to get respect. On another note, her new office building is much nicer and more organized than the old office in Englewood. It definitely feels more professional, and the waiting area can accommodate several more people.

Kasey Aronov

What a great and calming experience at the office. I had insurance issues and the billing staff was very helpful in resolving the issue and thoroughly explained my policy as well as any questions I had.

Dr Wang is extremely rude and unprofessional. Every single time I went here, I felt worse when I left. My intake wasn't even with dr Wang. It was with a therapist. I have never seen dr Wang for more than 2 minutes at a time, even on my initial intake. As quick as she could write the prescription, the appointment was over. If you smoke weed, she will blame every single problem on the weed, no matter what you say. She once told me I should reconsider my relationship with my girlfriend, even though I was very happy with my girlfriend. Only go here if you need someone to write refills. If you want actual treatment, if you want to find the right medicine for you, go somewhere where the psychiatrist diagnoses you and listens to you for more than 2 minutes, go somewhere else

I had wonderful experience visiting Dr. Wang as a new patient. Her office operates efficiently and her office staff and psychotherapist are great. Dr. Wang is very knowledgeable and experienced. She got to the point of care quickly. After a few days of treatment, I already feel much better, less depressed and agitated. I have had dry cough for seven weeks and I have visited infectious and allergy clinic but no medication could control my cough. After undergoing Dr. Wang's care for a few days, not only my mood has improved but also my dry cough is 99% gone. I didn't expect my cough went away so quickly after being treated with antidepressants and antiacid. Dr. Wang had a very good bedside manner. She cares for her patients. Besides medical treatment, she also asked me about my personal life, what book I like to read, what activities intetest me. She also recommend me a book to read. I am a medical doctor myself and know from professional experience that Dr. Wang is an excellent psychiatrist.

P JB

The doctor was curt and not interested in listening. Started writing prescriptions right away without even getting to know me. Her receptionists are unreliable, they put me on hold forever, told me the doctor would call me back and I never heard from her. When I did get a call back from her secretary, it was to reschedule my appointment!!! So, at my first (and only) visit, I was prescribed a medication that had no generic so I called to ask if I could have samples or a different medication. It took two days of leaving unreturned messages, then I called again and was told "we have samples but have to get authorization from the Dr. to give them. She will call you". She NEVER CALLED. The place is unkempt, dirty, unorganized. There is no waiting room, just a chair in the hallway by the bathroom. HORRIBLE.

Please be advised that if you visit Dr. Wang you are forced to sign a document basically preventing you from posting negative reviews of her online. RED FLAG. Of course, slanderous and unjust falsehoods are terrible and no one should have to be a target of that, but this document leaves vulnerable patients threatened by legal action and potentially at risk if they share experiences which the office might deem as unfair. I would not trust this office to make such judgments and hold such power over individuals. Patients, as human beings, as free citizens, should not have their rights to knowledge and accurate, quality medical care stripped from them in a way that, quite frankly, may be illegal. but is also extremely inappropriate. It is dangerous sign for the future of healthcare in our country. I did not sign and did not pursue treatment with Dr. Wang, as the office staff would not allow anyone who had not signed to see her. Here is a part of the 'agreement' that vulnerable patients are coerced into signing in order to obtain treatment: "As a psychiatric practice, I have suffered tremendously because of dissatisfied patients using the internet to defame our practice. Cyber-bullying, slander, libel, defamation, and any form of aspersion will be responded to with legal action. Our mission is to get one patient at a time to achieve a symptom free mental status 'turning suffering into triumph.' If you unjustly create, share, post a poor review, or factually incorrect accusations about Dr. Wang, Psychiatric Care Associates, staff and/or affiliates on-line written, verbal, visually, on any forum we will exercise our right to pursue legal action against you. And you will be fully responsible for the legal fees and your clinical materials will be used for the legal proceedings. You will automatically waive your HIPPA entitlement." Threatening enough? Criticism should not be silenced. Of course complaints should be respectful and discussed with the provider first, but threats to deny HIPPA, even if they are empty, indicate there is a lot wrong with this practice on an ethical level. Our health is too important to give in to this.

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. my mother was a patient for years. Today, she waited over an hour for her apt, and finally walked out. The doctor called and not only yelled at her, but told my mother she was a bad person. When my mother said she was going to write a bad review the dr THREATENED TO SUE HER. A PSYCHIATRIC DOCTOR TOLD A PATIENT SHE WAS A BAD PERSON. my mother has been beside herself all day. Speaking like this to a patient could cause them to commit suicide. I have never been more disgusted with a practice in my entire life.

Needed help with Dr Wang finding/ treating my father who has severe dementia, an incapacitated person and she wasn’t willing to help a person in need. I also saw a female crying profusely in the parking lot after she exited her office... I’m no expert but I felt that she shouldn’t have allowed a patient to leave her office in that state.... but then again I’m no professional psychologist. But I won’t be returning there for business or help

A bizarre, and disorganized office experience - not a pediatric psychiatrist. Cold, and unapproachable, Dr. Wei Wang brushed off our family, refusing to have a conversation or consultation with us, unless we paid out of pocket at $180 - although she said she took our insurance (and does). A machine office practice. In the 20 minutes we waited, she saw 3 patients. Also, the office initially couldn't even find our appointment - disorganized, uncollaborative, and unpleasant. The office was also dirty.

I have been seeing Dr. Wang for several months. She has been wonderful. She understands my concerns and makes very specific diagnoses. The medication she prescribed has been extremely helpful. I am always seen within 10 minutes of my appointment. I highly recommend her.

I went to see Dr. Wang with the intention of getting a prescription for Adderall, which I knew would seem sketchy due to asking directly for it. I was a previous patient of hers and have used a similar substance, Vyvanse, with no problem but it had bad side effects. I was not upset that she refused to prescribe it to me. I am an adult now and well adjusted, I have a full time job and a 3.8 GPA in college. If she believes I don't need it, I would take that answer. My problem, however, came with her insistence that I treat my "addiction." I don't like to lie when dealing with health providers, so I answered honestly. I only drink/smoke on occasion (less than once every month). She reiterated multiple times that I would "fry my brain" unless I could stay sober. I thought this was VERY insulting given that I use these things in moderation, considerably less than the average person. On top of this, the meeting with Dr. Wang was shorter than the meeting with her assistant who asked me questions (questions such as have you had depression, hows your sleep, etc). I noticed when signing the new patient slips (even though I have worked with Dr. Wang before) that there was a section in there saying that leaving a bad/untruthful review could be subject to lawsuit for libel/slander/defamation. I understand a office wanting to protect itself against angry people looking to score controlled substances, but after visiting it is clear that the large amount of poor reviews stem from Dr. Wang's condescending tone. She insisted I'm an addict regardless of the fact that I told her I have never struggled with addiction. I am not a binge drinker and I do not smoke on any kind of regular basis. This condescending attitude and refusal to listen to me led me to write this review. Even as I explained that I have never even come close to being addicted to anything she was saying "I can't do anything for you" and walking out of the room. Completely disrespectful.

Holy moly I do not even need to speak my story. The responses to other reviews says it all. Completely unprofessional and unsettling. Even if peoples’ reviews might be more reflective since people who see a psychiatrist our typically struggling, it does not excuse some of those responses. Their are more professional ways to come about that. Clearly they did not receive proper help, either way. Which is okay. Not everyone is a fit. Everyone gets one stars sometimes. Of course when it is a pattern, people must look at the bigger picture.. I do have to agree with the 1 star reviewers, but it is just my honest opinion. That is why google review exists! Good invention :) No slandering, but it is my honest opinion this doctor was not helpful, or comfortable to work with. I was also told by other doctors that my med doses were not healthy from here, but i am not a professional. Just repeating what other doctors told me. Thought it was worth mentioning safety wise. If you are not picky though, I am sure she has the knowledge to help you. If you are more like me, perferring a warmer environment, quick and proper to find what I needed, there are other very great doctors in the same area of englewood. I am grateful to be healthy and happy nowadays. I hope everyone else is too, or finds their way soon :) *Update*: Of course reviews are can be exaggerated, but when I receive them for my business I know they stemmed from something and I reach out to fix it. In the end, all is well(and if not, it is done to the best of our abilities where we move on with a lesson to be better)- to answer your question. And good point, I am aware Dr. Wang is a common name, so I did make sure I commented under the proper one. Of course, I am sure she intends to be careful. It was just not my personal experience, however. Luckily I have had other very incredible, careful doctors since and I do confidently trust their statements about my doses. I understand your view, and responding "in the same manner" might feel relieving, but is unsettling to see it coming from professionals in the mental health field. It also might be discouraging to sensitive help-seekers. People come to this platform so we can share and see the general reactions of everyday people. (Thank you google reviews.) You’re right, defending what you believe to be true is not necessarily the unprofessional part of the responses. People do lie and if every one of these low reviews are lies, I understand your frustration. I wish more truth to arrive then :) I just felt upset seeing pain in these reviews and no helpful solution to either side. Struck a sadness, is all. ~Thank you so very much and you be well, too :) ~

I have to post this review anonymously because I was forced to sign a form that said if I leave a bad review then I can get sued. I had a horrible and unpleasant experience at Dr. Wang's office. First, her assistant(?) interviewed me, and I was extremely overwhelmed and felt bombarded when Dr. Wang entered and the assistant answered questions and talked over me. AFTER giving me a prescription and sending it to my pharmacy, Dr. Wang decided we were not a good fit because I refused to agree to quit my job in order to get treatment. I told her that I couldn't quit my job, because how would I be able to afford to live, and she told me that managing my treatment is a full-time job. She made me feel like a liability and like it was too risky to take me on as a client. She was not considerate or understanding and refused to listen to my perspective. She then left the room and had her assistant finish the session, overall leaving me very confused and uncomfortable. Absolutely no comfort or compassion, which is a horrible sign for someone who deals with mental health.

Anon of your business

Do not waste your time. She is cold, condescending, disinterested, and uninformed. She has no empathy nor sympathy or compassion for her patients. She will be quick to judge and jump to incorrect conclusions about you— I would give 0 stars if I could, honestly. She lets a student ask her survey questions for her. Then, walks in, jaded, high and mighty, with no beside manner, and tries to tell you how to live your life after reading the, at best, several sentence interpretations of your answers to the hour long conversation you’ve just had with the person that should be your doctor. She will make you walk away with more anxiety than you walked in with (3 hrs earlier). She is uncaring and disingenuous. If you disagree with her demands (as they are not put to you as recommendations), she will ask you questions she does not care to know the answers to and cut you off before you’ve finished. She acts in ways that would make one think she is purposefully trying to further injure one’s mental health to stay employed. She would not think twice about pushing you into inpatient, unnecessarily, for a kickback— if only it were legal. Worst doctor I have ever dealt with. WARNING: She will try to make you sign a document that bars you from reviewing her online — saying it’s a form of online “bullying” —when, in reality, it is to stop you from warning others that SHE is the bully (in real life) and so that she doesn’t have to change her behavior. This is why she has so little reviews. Here are my demands Dr. Wang: retire, go into a different field; stop doing this for greed because it shows.

I have been going to Dr. Wang's office for over 5 years. I can honestly say I am extremely happy to be a patient there. I have had many difficulties with my insurance over the years. The Billing Staff has been so patient in helping me figure my insurance out. They are very accommodating.

Anonymous Person

Dr. Wang is absolutely disgusting, cold, obnoxious, and disrespectful to her customers. She is unprofessional and left me unsatisfied every time I went for a visit. One time, she had her social workers take care of my appointment (instead of her)and then she came in after for 2 minutes. Wang also only talks about HERSELF during the appointments. Every time I would try to express my concern she would bring up her life experiences, most of the time had nothing to do with my topic! This doctor also charges a ridiculous amount of money if you have to cancel, even when it’s long in advance. She only wants to take your money! Also, she makes her customers come early and wait for a long time, because she is ON A LUNCH BREAK. However, not even because the people before me were taking a while. I ended up waiting one time for 2 and a half hours because she was eating down the street! I do not recommend Dr. Wang under any circumstances. She did not help me at all and I will never go back to her again.

the most unprofessional "doctor" Ive ever met. doesnt keep to client confidentiality, cant see patient's issues and struggles from their perspective and has an extremely rude staff. Highly recommend not seeing this fraud of a doctor. dr wang is a joke

Nicole McCance

Wonderful staff that is always helpful. I have been coming to see Dr. Wang for years.

Melissa Colosanti

Very unprofessional. Gave my girlfriend two different medications at a time, didn’t tell her to stop taking the one only to find out they aren’t supposed to be mixed together! She just kept trying to pull random information from anywhere. She kept prescribing random medications with no real reasoning.

Every appointment I was left to sit for NO LESS than 1 1/2 hours, a few times I was left sitting for 3 hours. Her staff was at least honest and would say things like, she ALWAYS does this. Shes ALWAYS late, she doesnt care, its HER time. She gave less than 5 minutes each visit, and no matter how many times she would ask if drugs were used, and no matter how many times I said NO, it was a constant question. Rather than taking the time to actually find out mentally how things were. After being left to sit for hours at a time, EVERY visit, ONE appointment was missed and was told a $200.00 fee was needed paid before another appointment was made. Very cold, had no bedside manner for making you feel comfortable or cared about. Its sad really, I'm sure so many people slipped through the cracks, and I am even more sure of it after reading the reviews here. Luckily I found a wonderful Dr who cares and is kind and warm and friendly and is on time, every time!

Greatest Ever

Dr Wang IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Takes a long lunch break and doesn’t care that she’s backed up. I had an appointment at 1pm and was seen at 3pm! Her patients were all complaining about her. Some left the office very disappointed. They say it always happens and they are fed up. She diagnosed me WITHOUT even seeing me! It’s in my patient portal. I saw it & was very confused! Called my name but then had someone else’s file open. Asked me if I was 40 years old! She rushes things & does things half way. Doesn’t listen. Told me to shut up when I was explaining something. Then told me to leave and wouldn’t even complete the evaluation I paid $500 for. On top of that the staff hangs up the phone. It’s just a terrible place to go to. Please save yourself the money and the headache.

margot bogo

update: she didn't remember what she prescribed me, and when i went to pick up my medication, the pharmacist stopped me, saying it was a toxic, and almost LETHAL dose for anyone to take.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. Dr. Wang’s practices are very unprofessional and I do NOT recommend ANYONE in the NJ area to come to this place. I have never felt so uncomfortable, misjudged and treated like a fool in being in those offices. Any psychiatrist would make their client feel comfortable and accepted, and Dr. Wang is NOT one of those. I have been coming here for about 3 months and after a recent appointment I have had I am no longer making it a commitment to come here. I have chosen to remain anonymous and write this review under a false name after I have been told by Dr. Wang HERSELF if I post any review I would get sued? What kind of a practice or professional is allowed to say that to their clients. This place is one of the absolute worst and I can’t wait to see what unprofessional and classless response this will get by the practice itself because they clearly care so much to reply to these comments instead of having a life and treating their clients better.

A P

I've been coming hear for more than 2 years. Dr. Wang is fine, but her staff are rude (better than the prev staff though).

Darrielle Johnson

I am fairly new patient at Dr. Wangs. When I came in they explained all my copays and deductible fees so that I was aware and would not be hit with any surprise bills. They really work with patients.

aniutka olavarria

AVOID THIS DOCTOR......Absolutely horrible!! I went because I’m suffering from post- partum depression. I was highly recommended to her but I’m so disappointed with Dr. Wang. She is rude, cold, uncaring, Extremely unprofessional, nasty and she don’t care about her patients. Dr. Wang is only interested in getting the money from patients. Take my advice do not go to this practice....

alea barnes

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Me & my daughters are extremely traumatized. This place should be shut down they’re disgusting. The “Dr” asked my stepdaughter to call her mom for verbal consent and ended up taking her phone and told us to leave the room and as we were in the waiting room we decided we didn’t want to be there anymore so we went to the room to get the phone back so we could leave. She yelled at us to get out of the room and we said no and to give us the phone back she refused and said she’s calling the cops and LITERALLY RAN to her office and her employees followed and we said to her helper we need the phone back and we want to leave! They told us NO and said the cops are coming and the male employee tried to put his hands on me to push me out the door, while this is happening my daughters both 14yrs and both have extreme anxiety started to cry and shaking . It wasn’t until I started to yell to give us the phone and that it’s disgusting and illegal to keep us hostage and steal our property and refusing to leave that she came out of her office and tossed the phone to my stepdaughter.. we literally ran out of there in fear and crying. And as we’re leaving we passed two cops that actually went to the building which made my daughters even more scared that a dr who is supposed to help you would do all of this to young children for no reason I honestly wish she could get her license taken because how many other ppl and especially KIDS does she do this too. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND THIS DOCTOR!!!!!!

In reference to the review by Alea C Barnes - I do not agree with the review that was posted abouth Dr Wei Wang. Right at the beginning, you introduced yourself as the step mother but the biological mother informed us that you are just the father's girlfriend. I think this information, from the biological mother, might have triggered you to become upset and start yelling and screaming at Dr Wang and at our staff members. At our practise, we try to help patients and the State of NJ and medical ethics mandate us to have the consent of the biological parents before we speak to a minor. The patient is clearly in distress and we think that may be aggravated by her family and current living situation which the patient was reluctant to disclose with you present in the session. Dr Wang calmly asked you to come and speak with her inside. But sadly you and your daughter started screaming and were very disrespectful to us. Some of the other patients were also distressed by your violent and loud outburst. Your manner was very demeaning and threatening which resulted in us calling the police to ensure our safety and the safety of that young child. We have security cameras in our waiting area that will confirm that our male staff member never attempted to come close or to push you out of the office. We would never do that to any patient or person who walks through our doors as this is against the high standards and principals that we practice in our office. We are dissapointed that we could not help that young child but hope and pray that she gets the right kind of care and be happy and healthy always.

Danielle Maholick

I do NOT recommend this place. Dr. Wang is VERY unpleasant, cold, emotionless and tends to speak down to people. I was not surprised when reading these reviews however, I wish I would've done so prior to making an appointment here. Terrible!

Al L

I would like to share my personal experience about Dr. Wei Wang. In my opinion, she is one of the best doctors in her field. She cares about her patients and actually tries to instill the values into her patients in such a way that it addresses the patient behavior. In adition to just prescribing drugs, she takes a whole holistic approach when addressing patients issues. I have seen her for the past 8 months and very much like her approach to to the way she treats me as a patient.

Fear Swept

She is very unprofessional and money hungry. Me having insurance which covers this visit and her receptionist tried to say that my insurance does not cover. I called the insurance in front of them and they comfirmed my coverage and they still wanted to charge me. When I refused to pay they said I was making a scene and she would not see me. It boggles my mind because i had given them the information when i called to make my appointment. They just lost me as a client.

tatyana S

I would recommend Dr.Wang and my therapist Ilana, who are both very professional, smart, Sharp, and sweet people. The best professionals who listen, led you to the right way, and never drop you in the middle of the journey

Margot Bogosian

sociopath with a prescription pad. she didn't even remember what she prescribed me, and doesn't even know my name. she tries to pick fights with the patients and her staff are unorganized and have no experience lmao it's kinda hilarious how terrible the whole place is.

Donnie Ingrasselino

Office staff is kind and helpful. Dr. Wang is extremely knowledgeable and caring and has a great sense of professionalism

Brandon T

I have been to many doctors in the past and was always misdiagnosed which led to hospitalizations. Dr. Wang was the only doctor to correctly diagnose me. She has given me my life back. Dr. Wang and her assistant are both extremely knowledgeable, informative and caring. I have recommended her to many people and everyone feels the same way. Whenever I have needed to contact her after hours, that is never a problem. I hope she continues her practice for a very long time.

Amy P

Staff is very pleasant!!! Billing Department is very thorough!!!

Andy W

Dr. Wang made herself available for an overseas telephone consultation when an emergency arose and texted/e-mailed the necessary prescriptions and reached out to the overseas pharmacy to ensure a smooth transaction. She is an outstanding medical professional and I would recommend her services to anyone seeking same for themselves or a loved one. The negative reviews mostly seemed to evidence some misplaced anger rather than any real deficiency on Dr. Wang's part.

Vladimir Vichirko

Dr. Wang is very helpful and knowledgeable. The office and staff were all so helpful.
