Unethical Business Practices = Unethical Medicine and Therapy. I walked out! Clinical Psychiatry Consultants. I have been on the Board of the Children of Bellevue in NYC for 15 plus years. I was a Healthcare Banker and I operate a Medical Wellness Company. I had a HORRIFIC experience and first impression at Dr. Rasheen's offices that suggest their modus of operation is "Money over Medicine" and probably worse - a lack of ethics. Allow me to explain. Upon entering their Paramus offices, I was informed I needed to pay $100, not my $50 co-pay. I said, My CO-Pay is only $50. They said, that It doesn't matter, this is "Our Policy" and you will be reimbursed on your next visit post your insurance clearing. I was appalled. Not only had I never seen such an over reaching and disrespectful policy. This $50 was not an issue for me regarding the out if pocket being over the $50 Co-Pay, but for two key reasons.
One, as a professional working with families and people in crisis ay Bellevue I understand the value of every dollar and I am sensitive to this. to not inform people and put them out another $50 raises serious questions for me. Regardless, I was floored they would seek an extra payment from more needy people.
Secondly, just as bad, if not worse, it is an Ethical statement and probably in violation of current laws as they do NOT inform you prior and misrepresent your expenses prior to even meeting you. This made me realize, if a Professional Medical Office is compromising its practice for an extra $50 at the beginning, Oh My, they must compromise themselves elsewhere. Hence they do not share my ethical values and I walked out. How could I, or any one entrust these money hungry "professionals" with ones "private matters" and this questions if they actually care?
Hence I left there feeling dirty and lied to and concerned for others that may go here or their Wayne Practice. To think they took my appointment assuring me my Co-Payment was sufficient. Then seek double simply disturbed me. I think anyone seeking to use this group, should ask themselves the same thing. Money be medicine is a BIG RED FLAG.
The office is cold and absent f any personality It wasn't on my Zoc Doc for or their web site or on the Clinical Psychiatry Consultants web site. Tuba confirmed this! .
