LIFE CHANGING THESE ARE CRUEL HEARTLESS PEOPLE WITH NO CONCERN OR COMPASSION FOR THOSE WHO ENTRUST THEM TO CARE NURSE PRACTITIONER WROTE ME A NEW MEDICINE ON MY 1ST VISIT IN TEN MINUTES IT WAS STRONG AND DID HORRIBLE THINGS TO MY MIND AND BODY SHE TOLD ME TO CALL AND IT WOULD BE NO PROBLEM TO SWITCH IT TO SOMETHING ELSE IF I NEEDED TO AND I TRUSTED THAT WAS THE CASE I CALLED SHE WAS ON VACATION NO PLANS WERE MADE FOR WHO WOULD HANDLE HER PATIENTS NO REGARD WAS GIVEN TO THE FACT THAT YOU ALL PLAY WITH PEOPLES MINDS YOURE NOT THE EYE DOCTOR OR EVEN THE DENTIST I COULD NOT TAKE THAT MEDICINE BUT HAD NOT BEEN UNMEDICATED IN OVER 14 YEARS EXCEPT FOR THAT WEEK THAT YOUR NURSE PRACTITIONER WENT OUT OF TOWN YOUR STAFF TOLD ME TO GO TO AN URGENT CARE THEN THEY TRANSFERRED ME EVERYWHERE INCLUDING THE BUSINESS OFFICE MAKING ME RETELL MY STORY THROUGH MORE TEARS EVERY TIME. THEN MARIA PROMISED TO TAKE CARE OF THINGS AND FIND A DOC TO SEE ME THEN THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT THEY REFUSE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME My husband left me the next week Seems unmedicated me is too difficult for even a retired Marine to deal with Thanks for playing a big role in my stage dive off the deep end GO TEAM!!!

the staff was very compassionate and caring to me during my week and a half hospitalization. Me and the other patients were allowed to do anything we wanted to do in our free time, as long as we did what we were asked to do by the nurses, and the psychiatrist such as taking our routine medications, keep our rooms organized, attend our groups, have good hygene, clean up after ourselves, and not be aggressive towards others. And, If we do act a fool, we will be given minor to strict consequences such as no free time in the day room, eating your meals on the unit, and losing the privilege of going off the unit. The only problem i had with them was with one of those rude night nurses that wouldn't let me have enough phone time with my family. Other then that, my outpatient experience was great until the company is discontinuing their outpatient services......SO SAD

I've been twice for a week at a time..for me it was a dreadful experience.. I did not sleep at all and was totally exhausted when I was finally released. A friend took me to Gulf Oaks, they put me on Lexapro the first day, they have an awesome staff and within 3 days I had improved, was released on day 5 given Rx with refills to take until I could get into a doctor..in summary Gulfport Behavioral Health employees do not seem qualified to treat mental illness successfully. I know many people who've been there, and like myself will not go thru it again. Thankfully we have some wonderful facilities in the area and therefore we have choices.

My first time being here and it wasn’t a good experience. I would ask for headache meds. I wouldn’t get them but like 2 hours later after kept asking. I also asked for 2 hours for water and never it. Also waited 2 days to get a extra blanket in my room. The rooms are freezing at night. Some staff members were very rude. Also got very creeped out when 40 year old men are coming in to my room at night.

Not even one star was admitted there hoping to get help, it was the worst choice I have ever made ...not everyone but most of the people don't care they treat u like garbage , talk about u in front of you, they will laugh at u in your face most of the time they just sit there on there phones.when u as for something or help they act like it is a burden for them. Most of the patients there they just give them meds that knock them out ...most patients is group therapy could barley hold there head up !!!! Its very dirty!! I could go all day about this place there are a few people there who do care But only a few.. Seeing this was so sad especially for the patients that had no control and just took the meds !!! I would never ever ever recommend this place NO WAY EVER YOU WOULD GET BETTER IN A PLACE LIKE THIS PLACE.... they say they have recreation lol well it was a movie played on the wall in the gym no fresh air, no type of excersise I heard the person in charge say until the regulations change he's not doing any paperwork for anything!!! On a personal note if u don't care don't take a job like this ....you are so wrong for treating people the way u do just cause they need help doesn't make them less then u.you should be ashammed of yourself !!! GET OFF YOUR PHONES AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR PATIENTS!!!!! I will be filling a long list of things even names of people with the person in charge or anyone who can help those patient You can't here them BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE TO BE QUIT...THEN ILL BE THERE VOICE.....SO SO SO SO SAD!!!!

I came here to help manage my mental health. The "doctor" I talked to was so rude. After asking about my past problems told me I needed to be hospitalized even though I am not suicidal! She got rude with me then brought my husband in. Told him everything I said which is personal and although he already knows, she should not be sharing personal information without my consent! Tried to tell me she could put me on a 72 hour hold without my consent. NO YOU CAN NOT UNLESS SOMEONE IS PLANNING TO HARM THEMSELVES OR OTHER. Well when my husband came in there he straightened that out real quick. Waited almost 2 months to get in. Was previously being seen in another state before I moved. So pretty mad I waited that long just to have someone make my stress levels go up even more! Will never go back here and if anyone I know says they are coming here I will talk them out of it! Going to take my buisness and health concerns somewhere else. Please reconsider going here its terrible! mental health is very important so take your buisness somewhere to people who actually want to help and not just fill beds and make money off of you.

to start off i have been there two times and all you do is just sit around and when you try to talk about your problems and how you feel with the counselors they dont listen they just sit there on their phones or try to give you medicine to "help" (something to make you fall asleep) anyways another thing is while i was there they wanted us to interact with each other and talk but yet they always kept us in our rooms also the staff are so rude they have an attitude about everything theres maybe 1-2 staff members that were actually nice at the time i would not recommend this place to anyone it did not help me at all

This place should have stayed memorial behavioral health. I stayed when it was mbh twice on the adolescents side and it was a great psych hospital. I had been sent back a few weeks ago (staying on the adolescents side again) however and with the new company came new rules. Gulfport behavioral health system needs to shut down. There are so many issues. Just one for example is the dietary accommodations. I’m a vegetarian and I told them that in admission, my psychiatrist visit, I told the techs day after day and I also told the cooks during meals. I didn’t receive any accommodation until my LAST DAY here, where they asked if I wanted a veggie burger. The entire week I was stuck eating side dishes and side salads. There are many more issues than just this.

lauren its cameron ur right, its sad memorial sold this place, but i had a good inpatient therapist, mrs tina, and my outpateint theraptist ms shirley and dr. berger helped me while i was in the hospital for 2 and ahalf weeks

This place is a JOKE!! I talked to one of these dr. in private. Only to find out they told other people. Will never go back here again and would advise against it to anyone. GO somewhere else.

I was there for 8 days. It's not a long stay care facility, and is only for a few weeks stay. You have to go to group meetings just to eat in the cafeteria. You don't go to the meetings, and it will prolong your stay. Now the people who work there are very nice to the patients. ..even the ones who don't even talk. They do give you lots of meds if you are agitated. If you are chill , they will just give you small amounts of meds. Most people there had tried to end their lives, so they just want to get you stable before moving to the next place or home. The groups really helped me.

I had to put one star just to be able to post a review. My daughter is currently admitted here. Everyone has been friendly all day. But the nurses are rude. When they call you they are rude and when you ask questions they start getting all loud and have attitudes. What kind of friendly place is this supposed to be. If they don't like their jobs!! Fire them. Because I promise you If I find out they mistreat my child and is rude or hurtful to their feelings. They are getting reported. Actually the majority of the whole staff needs to be reported. I will never use this hospital again and I will never recommend it to anyone

When you enter the building thay ask you for your phone you can eather take it to your car or you can give your phone to theam for them to lock up this old lady at the front dest really needs to quit baby girl you are old enough to be my great grandmother

I have been seeing ms Morgan there for years. I've never had a problem with anyone there. Everyone has always been very kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone.

The absolute worst experience with so called Dr. James, he is so full of rage and screams, talks over you and has no business at 61 to be working with our youth. He has proven that the child's best interest is the least of his concerns. The easiest money this man will ever make. I have never dealt with anyone as awful as him in the medical profession. Someone needs to stand up for our children and demand better because this man is a monster destroying any hope of our children getting the help they truly deserve.
