I went to see Dr bishop and I felt that he was a nice guy and that he was helpful with what I needed ...but his staff is incredibly rude and they couldn't even tell me when my next appointment was with out attitude! I work in a dr office and I don't treat patients that way! And they shouldn't either! I won't be going back!
Don’t waste your time with this guy he’s very unprofessional and just wants to write you some prescriptions and get you out of there ASAP. This guy doesn’t give a damn about any of his patients, he just wants your money and then brings you back in two weeks for a 10 minute visit just to write you even more medication that is unrelated to your actual issues. If your just looking for controlled substance pills then this is your guy but if you want actual help like I did then don’t waste your time.
Love the staff! Dr Bishop is very personable and has professionally addressed all of my issues. I highly recommend.
I'm rating this a 4 star, due to Dr. Bishop's knowledge and willingness to work WITH the patient. His office staff are rude, loud, and obnoxious. They have even lied to me in the past, & they do not give Dr. Bishop messages, even if urgent. Too bad. Dr. Bishop would get much better ratings if he ditched his office staff. The black lady is awful: no professionalism & no class.
Awful, just awful. Totally traumatized me not long at all after the death of my son. The sudden death of our children is traumatic enough without being told to "get your head out of your butt and just get over it." I wish it were possible to leave a zero star review.
Great doctor but the receptionest that answers the phone is rude and very unfriendly. I dread dealing with her in the check out area too when I take my son for his visit.
Initially thought I had found a great physician and staff, however about the 3rd visit I realized I was WRONG!! The black receptionist was very loud, rude & shady. She ran my credit card after she told me she would post date it 3 days out. Whats worse she didn't have the professionalism to call me to let me know she couldn't hold payment. The doctor was just as shady by defending her awful actions. In fact he made the comment that "hell would freeze over b4 they refunded my money. Poor poor customer service. I have never experienced such service from a doctor's office b4. I wouldn't recommend a mutt to this office. I wonder how many other patients they have took money from and then provided hideous service.
Nice
I had attempted suicide and had cut myself 51 times. They sent me to the Psych campus. Dr. Bishop released me within 48 hours and released me to go home with a new prescription of the very meds I’d overdosed on. He changed my meds every visit, so I never was given the correct amount of time on the medication to see if it would work. Most of those meds take 4-6 weeks to be fully effective. I’d say I wanted to die and he’d just nod his head and write me an extra 2 prescriptions. I once told him about the voices I was hearing. I also told him that for the first time I had homicidal thoughts. I wanted to kill a lot of people that I didn’t know. I told/showed him I had bought and carry with me in my purse—a ball pin hammer, ribbon rope, box cutters, a knife, and Hello Kitty duck tape. He sat there just nodding his head. He wrote me two new prescriptions and sent me home. The last time I was on the psych campus I was routinely taking several medications for migraines. My migraine special had told me that some of the meds I was on could not be stopped abruptly. I got my migraine specialist to call Dr. Bishop. The next time I saw him while inpatient he had started one of meds my migraine specialist advised I shouldn’t stop. Dr. Bishop said he thought I should find a psychiatrist closer to my migraine specialist. He then asked if I wanted to go home that evening or the next morning. I opted to go home that evening. He didn’t give me any refills on my meds until I could find another psychiatrist. He didn’t refer me to a different psychiatrist. They always set you up a follow up appointment shortly after you’re discharged. There was a follow up appointment on my discharge papers to follow up with Dr. Bishop. I called his office a day or two after discharge. I told the receptionist that I had a follow up appointment to see Dr. Bishop. I asked her if I needed to keep the appointment because when Dr. Bishop discharged me he said I didn’t need to see him anymore. She put me on hold and came back. She said no he said you don’t need to see him anymore. Dr. Bishop did say when you find a new psychiatrist call our office and give us the fax number and/or email they would forward all my information/records to my new doctor.
The staff has poor telephone etiquette hanging up the phone n the black lady applies makeup on at desk in front of patients during business hours. Dr.Bishop should do something about that I guess they think it's funny to treat patients like that in a very ungodly manner.
I initially made my appt in the last time slot he had on a Friday. That was a mistake bc he is one of the very few open late on Friday afternoons and there was a 2 hour wait. While waiting, I asked others in the waiting room if the wait was worth it and they said that it was and that he was working on replacing the unprofessional upfront staff. I found him to be laid back and enjoyable (when I told him I had done research online-he researched it again with me in office) I now make my appts during the week and there is less wait. I have sent texts and left messages on weekends and his staff always call me as soon as they are back in the office and have been very polite to me during my visits.
Great doctor great staff. They have always treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. Dr. Bishop always has cared and listened to any and all my issues. I saw another doctor before him he didn't even have me on the correct meds and his staff was rude and office manager a thief, I won't say a name due to respect for Dr. Bishop. I have several friends and family members that see him as well. This is a wonderful place
Doctor accused me of trying to steal services just because I didn't have insurance. He also told me he didn't care about the side effects I had previously had on medications he wanted to prescribe. Absolutely the worst psychiatrist I have ever been to in my life.
Dr Bishop changed me from an extremely strong medicine to a lesser medicine and took me completely off the stronger one in FOUR days time before the other had a chance to build up in my system (takes weeks)— I went into full withdrawals and it was the most horrible experience I’ve ever been thru in my life. I don’t trust this man at all!! He “seemed” like he was listening when I would talk but then all he would do is hand over prescriptions— in it for the money!!!
Horrible person. Especially with teenagers. I saw him when I was 18 and he told me all he does is write meds and if I wanted to talk to anyone, too bad.
Dr. Bishop is very straight to the point with helping in any issues. He will listen, as well as try his best to treat you. I prefer him over other insensitive psychiatrists who either won't be of help or too quick to make a wrong analysis!
This is the most unprofessional doctor and staff that I've ever encountered. The secretaries are very rude, loud and unprofessional. While you're in the waiting room all you can hear is them laughing and cutting up very loudly. Then everything seems to be a joke to Dr.Bishop when you try to explain any problems you may be having. Example,my daughter was having severe depression and suicidal thoughts because of a terrible break up. He laughed and thought it was funny. This made her 10x worse, because he didn't take her seriously. I should of known better than taking her to him, because I'd been his patient for 2 years myself. If I'd tell him any problems I was experiencing,he'd just laugh and write out more meds. The final straw was after being on the same meds for 20 years,he just decided he just wasn't going to write them anymore...although I'd been stable for years,he just all the sudden decided he was just going to change things all up. No warning or discussion or anything. When I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing that,he basically told me I could just find another doctor. Up until this point he had never acted rude or cocky to me,but the way he treated me was very cold and unprofessional. He didn't even try to refer me to a different doctor or anything. It was either I do what he wanted or just get out,my questions or concerns meant nothing to him. Needless to say,I found a wonderful, caring doctor. She listens to my concerns and she left me on the same meds that had been working for the past 20 years. Why change anything if it is working. Sometimes some doctors can do more harm than good. Then again, maybe they may want to screw you up so they can make more money off of you. Long story short, find a doctor who cares and listens. If your looking for a cocky quack that laughs at your problems and doesn't care about your mental health...he's your guy!
Terrible.
Dr, don't care about pt, only in it for the money .
Had great experience with staff and Dr.
Amazing staff & very professional. My family & I have been coming here for a while, & we all have had great experiences.
I was very hopeful when going to see Dr.Bishop because he is the first psychiatrist I have ever been too. I was excited that I would have someone to talk to and have someone that understood my medicine. The very first visit lasted a maximum of 5 minutes. He took me off of 400mg of a medicine I was taking for depression and told me to start 150mg of Effexor, 15 of remeron and xanex. I had never taken any of these medicines before and he didn’t wean me off of my medicines. I have since been to other doctors trying to fix my weight gain and my anxiety and depression and I had an absolutely horrible experience with Dr.bishop being rude and unprofessional.
