Katie and Libby are the best therapy team. Libby makes me forget why I'm in therapy within the first five minutes with the happy endorphins she inspires with her big smile and gentle paw-shake, and Katie offers a great positive infusion for the rest of the week. Highly recommended.

This office is the best Psychology practice in Rochester! All of the staff is kind, ethical, and went out of their way to help me. Dr. Bonita Patton was especially highly trained in the treatment of severe trauma. Glad to have finally gotten to the right place with truly skilled and caring team!!

The staff is very helpful and professional. I had a childhood trauma that I hated talking about and I hated going to the psychologist/psychiatrist. I now see Doctor Kathryn Amundson (Katie) and Lexi (the therapy dog) and I have never opened up or healed so much in my life. I feel like they're my friends and it doesn't feel like Katie is trying to analyze or diagnose me like some kind of research project, I know she genuinely cares for me and wants to help me improve my life. a couple of my family members also go here to a different psychologists and despite issues with finding and sticking with one doctor in the past we have been going here for over 2 years to the same doctors.

I didn't have the greatest experience here. The staff were nice enough but they didn't help me at all with my anxiety issues, if anything they made it worse. The therapist I was assigned to did not make me feel comfortable at all, she made every session feel awkward and she would end them a little early at times which was frustrating considering the price I was paying. She also didn't teach me anything new, it was all the basics, stuff you could learn right out of the first chapter of a self-help book. I really should have just went to the library and saved myself a ton of cash. Also the psychiatrist they assigned me to didn't seem very knowledgeable when it came to prescribing medications! She had to keep looking in her big medication book to find out the dosages and routes for very basic and common medications. At times I felt like I knew more than she did. On top of that I felt like she never remembered what I said to her at previous appointments about my medications, it's a little frustrating to have to repeat the same things over and over again. I really wasted my time and money on this place, would not recommend.

I highly recommend APP. Katie Amundson Is by far the best therapist I have had in my life. ADHD, an anxiety disorder and bouts with depression make me pretty complicated and Katie figured me out the first visit. Among other things, she is helping me learn how to slow down and take better care of myself and that, although I am always telling friends that “no is a not a dirty word,” I need to listen to my own advice and learn how to say no more often. Progress has been made and it is exhilarating! As a plus, Katie has her beautiful Samoyed in her office , which is comforting for pet lovers.

St.Martin wanted to pull me off meds I have been on for 16 years that's worked for me and switch me to some antidepressant I had never heard of. They also told me that I needed a blood draw to send to a lab. Don't go here if you can. They will not work with you at all.

I called on a Tuesday to make my first appointment. I was told I could be seen “tomorrow” but when I went in on Wednesday I was told my appointment was for Thursday. I was able to adjust my schedule to get to the Thursday appointment. The therapist wanted to see me weekly to start but didn’t have any openings for two weeks. So I scheduled five more appointments starting two weeks after the first. Half an hour before the first session of those five I received a call canceling the appointment. During the second and third sessions I felt as though my distress wasn’t taken seriously. The message I got was that I might start experiencing some relief in a month or two, but in the meantime I would just have to put up with it. When I went in for the fourth of the five I was told that my therapist wasn’t in and that my appointment had been canceled. I end my relationship with APP feeling hopeless.

I called in to inquire about their CBT therapy on Tuesday ( March 7th, 2017 ) The person answering the phone, seemed to not know if they had any counselors that offer CBT therapy. So she asked for my name and number, so she could check with her staff to see what kind of care they offer. She called me back promptly and said they do CBT therapy, however didn't know which person actually offered that type of therapy. She then proceeded to asked about my insurance to see if we were in their network, so I gave her my policy number and phone number to our insurance company. She said, she would call and see if our insurance was in their network and would return a call to me as soon as she talked with them. Now being Tuesday ( March 14th, 2017), I decided to call and see if our insurance was accepted by their business. To my surprise the woman answering the phone, checked on her computer through my name, and wondered when I would like to set up an appointment. I was so shocked, that as a business, they would have waited until I called back, which happened to be a full week, to find out about the information they were supposed to call me about. I stated, it sounded as if they didn't need any more business, and that I would probably chose another place, that wants my business. She suggested, " that sounds like a great idea. I chuckle, due to the fact of absolutely no customer service and a complete disregard of their error in earning new business. I do, however give everyone the benefit of the doubt, making mistakes and correcting them, but obviously, this is a business that may need some counseling themselves on how to treat prospective clients. Best of luck in your business practices and possibly learning more of your, lack of knowledge of the services you offer.

I have appreciated the professionalism and dedication that Dr. Bonita Patton shows her clients. I do not know of another therapist in the area that has the variety of training in trauma interventions that Dr. Patton possesses as well as the ability to implement them effectively . Her willingness to meet the clients where they are at in the moment is another positive attribute. I often recommended individuals and families to Associates in Psychiatry and Psychology.

Worst experience I have ever had with a medical provider. Staff are a revolving door, doctor only concerned with getting as many patients as they can cram into a day, text messages while talking to patients. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!

- Reception area/waiting froom was a mess - I heard someone watching sports in other counceling room - my councelor spend a good 5 minutes try to get going her laptop and did not talk; wanted to end session in 45 min. Needless to say I won't go back. I'm meeting a new councelor at different office and I'm much happier there, but very expensive way to find out how bad it is......

Mixed Feelings I don't know if I am staying here or not. I loved Bonita Patton, having started seeing her only two months after I moved here from out of state. She, however, sadly died suddenly two months into our therapy relationship, due to previous health problems returning with a vengeance. I really liked her, and found her trustworthy, caring and competent; obviously through no fault of hers, we could not continue. Dr Patton recommended Dr St Martin, who is an NP for medication management, also in the practice. Her nurse/assistant seems very good. For my first appointment with St Martin, I was early - I arrived before they had even unlocked the front door for the morning - and was not seen until 45-50 minutes after my appointment time, and rushed out in less than twenty minutes for what I thought was a fifty minute, "get-to-know-you appointment". I thought I'd give her another chance, and met her assistant this time, who seems organized and helpful. But Dr St Martin again seemed to rush me out, asked some odd questions, and changed me from a very low dose of one mood medication to a very low dose of another, both of which were designed only to help me fall asleep. St Martin at first seemed oddly detached, and made me feel harried and confused. I think she may have some also been shocked at losing a great colleague so suddenly, and still adjusting. Our relationship is settling in a bit, although the first four times I've seen her, the appointment started significantly late. She must be very very busy.

I have never had such a horrible experience. St, Martin, PhD was a off her rocker. Between having the heat turned up, and having an electric fireplace heater on , and shivering in a sweater, she interrupted me so many times, I started to just let her talk. She said she’s not the kind of therapist to change meds or give meds, and wanted to “cure” me with herbal suplements, voodoo books and only drinking water and plant based foods. Really?? She even said I can get off medications by living this lifestyle. What the #@“($??!! So my primary MEDICAL DOCTOR has been trying to poison me for 30 years with medication for chronic medical problems that were DIAGNOISED my lab tests and medical procedures? She said I would need to see her at least every two weeks. OMG. I walked out of there thinking I am not the one with issues this place is CRAZY!! Walk, no RUN away from this place!! If you need REAL help, ask someone you know has a REAL therapist, or NAMI. NAMI UNDERSTANDS!!!!

Dr. Bonita Patton has been my therapist for about 15 years. Her insightful comments, willingness to listen, flexibility, and compassion has proved invaluable in my management of my mental illness. She is, in every way, a true professional and I have often recommended her to acquaintances who have been going through difficult times. And the staff at APP is always willing to accommodate with a friendly demeanor.

Front desk has always been very friendly, helpful, and professional. The therapists I've worked with here are some of the kindest and most genuine people you would ever meet, and have been so helpful so as to be life changing. I'm very grateful that I was able to see Dr. Patton while she was here. The world continues to be a much better place because of her presence. If at first you don't click with a therapist, don't be discouraged; they may still be a good therapist, but it takes a while to find one with whom you, as an individual, have the right kind of rapport.

This place is incredibly unprofessipnal. "Dr" St.Martin is NOT a doctor. She is a nurse with a phd. Dont be fooled.

First appointment i had here the guy i saw gave me an anti psychotic for sleep. One thats meant for people with bipolar, epilepsy, or who are schizophrenic. I am none of these things and he gave me that...for SLEEP! Second appointment was scheduled 11:20am and i was called a few days prior due to a cancellation they asked me to come in at 10:40 instead. I go in and they scheduled around me. I ended up waiting an hour!

Been going to APP for awhile now and have had nothing but awesome experiences there! Wonderful place to go for help!

Chad Kneeland

Only a 4 out of 5 so far. The staff here is very courteous and helpful. I'm a new patient so I can't give a five star yet. However, I will update after a few appointments are completed. I can tell you that the initial start here is painless and actually enjoyable with easy to fill out paperwork.
