In the realm of mental health services, Lakes Consultation Group stands as a mockery. The contemptible sacks of squandered flesh behind the counter exude an arrogant disregard (if not a total lack of respect) for their patients. When you're dealing with people's bodies at this level, it's not a good time to slump into D.I.L.L.I.G.a.F.-customer-service-mode. I work customer service. I've lived it. I know it when I see and experience it, and a mental health clinic is simply not an appropriate venue for such behavior. There are LIVES AT STAKE. Put down your designer latte and get to work.
EXAMPLE: Multiple times I have tried to renew/refill medications through this team(?) only for them to somehow delay it for the better part of a week. (Withdrawal from heavy anti-depression/anxiety drugs comes with the startling sensation of an electric shock frequently shooting across your scalp and down your spine accompanied by crippling headaches, waves of nausea, and of course, brutal episodes of high anxiety and suicidal ideation.) It's usually at this point that I've needed to practically hold their hands through the process of seeing their work done (making their calls for them, etc), when they aren't making me jump through bureaucratic hoops with the hope of results that resemble effective administrative practices. Tonight, I finally was able to retrieve my Cymbalta after yet another edition of this pathetic song-and-dance.
This is to say nothing of their doctors/nurses.
The only reason I would ever go back to this citadel of incompetence is to roast marshmallows over it... and I don't even eat marshmallows, so I guess that's that. In the meantime, I'll be over here in the corner readjusting to my dosage, and finding a clinic that actually cares for their patients' wellness more than their paychecks and break-times.
