This clinic is a sorry excuse for mental health care. The staff are poorly trained and it is a wonder to me what could possibly make these people qualified. To make things worse, there is a wide range of age groups at Aris, which makes it impossible to treat patients appropriately according to their age. The mental health issues that small children suffer from and the mental health issues adolescents suffer from are completely different. A seventeen year old with social anxiety shouldn't have to listen to a five year old's screaming and crying all day long, and a seven year old child suffering from trauma from abuse shouldn't have to watch as angered teenagers swear at the staff, begging for a cigarette or a blunt to dull the pain of being in such a despicable institution. The actions taken against 'insubordinate' patients are in nearly every circumstance unjust and unprofessional, and the staff are incapable of handling even the mildest of cases without calling the authorities for help. Patients there are over medicated and under cared-for. My associate who was at one time a patient at Aris clinic was put though far more than necessary in order to cure her of her condition, and her condition has only deteriorated since she went there.
But by far the worst thing about Aris clinic is one staff member in particular. Chad Cartier, the 'Director of Psychotherapy' whatever that means, is a terrible man with terrible judgement, a man who thinks it's better to send someone directly to a psych ward when they have a mental breakdown rather than allow them to talk it through with a therapist they trust. He is disrespectful, unprofessional and entirely repulsive.
Please, for your own sake, do not choose Aris for you or your child. It will only do them harm.
