Long wait time. My first appointment I was waiting 40 minutes before seen.

Daniella Trevisan

I just called to make an appointment the lady that answered the phone couldn't be so rude. My daughter sees Dr Garcia so I thought I could make an appointment to see him as well. So disappointing because he is so kind.

Mary Jones

I agree with the billing issues. Nothing but problems there. But my main concern has to do with the very expensive medication dr. Garcia recommended to my adult son. He could not afford it and his insurance did not cover any of it. there must be another medication the doctor could have recommended! At any rate, my son has gone without medication and is struggling. He will be looking for someone else to help him. Meanwhile, we are trying to keep him off the edge.

I have had nothing but great service from this office. Dr Garcia has been a great psychiatrist for me, kind, caring, and easy to communicate to.

jessica hyde

Horrible the office never confirmed my appt. They said they accepted my insurance and did not and told me that I would have to private pay after I arrived with my daughter and had been pre-evaluated. Dr. Garcia commented in a negative way about my race which was really sad being that he is a minority himself So basically the office staff is inefficient and the doctor is a racist. If he bills me for anything I'm going to take him to small claims court. I wasted 2 1/2 hrs. with no.results i.have to start the process of getting your child some help.all over again I'm very distraught and disappointed.

Ignore the negative reviews. I have been seeing Garcia for a decade, back when he was located more in Novi. He's not compassionate you say? He isn't a therapist. They don't listen to your problems to talk to you - he is a psychiatrist and prescribes medicine. However he's more sympathetic than other doctors I saw as a teenager and child. The appointments are met more on time as one usually expects from a doctor's office. His wife is kind and worked out a payment plan for my mother and I, so I'm not sure how people are able to complain about being overcharged or lied to about coverage. He is a great doctor who has helped me and my mother both through ten years of difficulties and goes out of his way to make patients feel appreciated, acknowledged and not alone with their problems.

I was just seen in the office and this office in the tri-county area is clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating. After reading the comments, I was on the fence but saw nothing like what was posted. I would recommend this office to anyone. The wait is worth it and no signs of what brittanie commented.

Questionable Billing Practices - They sent us a bill in 2017 for service that took place in 2013. I checked with my insurance and this had been paid in 2013 by the insurance. This is not the first questionable bill we received from them.

Brian McCafferty

The billing department told me what my costs would be before I even had any appointments so I could decide if I could afford it. When given said cost spreadsheet I had several meetings accordingly. I also paid for those visits at the time of each meeting. Then out of the blue a month or two later I got billed by them for almost $500 additional monies owed. They're frauds and horrible people. Also, their front desk staff, besides Kelsey, are beyond rude and abrasive. Dr. Garcia is great as well as Suzanne but with a staff that is trying to steal/extort money from a struggling person such as myself I must and will fight back. Do not go to this place ever!!!!

Michael Cooper

Worst billing department ever! The entire operation is a scam and they will tell you are not covered until you receive a bill four months later. Then they’ll drop a $350 bill on you stating that they told you on the day of your visit that it was not covered despite that not being the fact. Their entire office staff is rude and unprofessional at best. If I could give them zero stars I would. They are a horrible organization who deserves to be reported to the Better Business Bureau. Currently in the process of reporting them to the state as well as the Better Business Bureau for their Improper billing practices. Don’t waste your time as they will overcharge you even if you do pay

Kevin

Friendly and helpful I am very optimistic after my first visit staff was patient and helpful

Nick Smith

Wont fill rxs when you are out of meds but they dont want you to stop taking them.

Horrible billing department!! They continued to send me bills that i did not owe. I have reciepts for the few times i went to their office showing i paid my copay in full. I called their billing department and office but they still said i owe money how can that be when I paid. I continued recieving bills in the mail over several months. This issue had me stressed and upset and it took months to reslove just horrible!! I have never seen anything like this before. Extremely incompotent way to run a business! The doctor I saw was great how i wish he was at a different office because i will never return!!

The office staff is very friendly. Dr. Garcia is the best psychiatrist and really takes the time to listen to you. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

brittanie schomacker

If I could give no stars I would, this office is absolutely TERRIBLE. The staff is awful and Dr Garcia's wife who also works in the office is rude as can be, a very nasty women.. when you would think someone working at a psychiatrist office would have a lot more compassion. I would NOT recommend anyone to go here ever. All in all a very unprofessional practice.

I recently brought my daughter to see Dr. Garcia for a last minute appointment since things were going downhill so rapidly. The person scheduling us made accomadations to fit us in quick. Dr. Garcia was so caring, empathetic and understanding. I am glad we finally found a doctor we are choosing to stick with!

Erica Slayton

Tried to bring our son here, but didn't even get the dr. to call us back to make an appointment. I went in and talked to the dr. to provide her with background on our son. She asked me to fill out 20 pages of paperwork and was supposed to call me to make an appointment. I never heard back from her. The front desk staff is the WORST though of the entire experience. When you go in, depending on what dr. you are there to see, only one person can help you. Inevitably, my front desk person was always working with 3 other people. I went in to drop off the paperwork and there was a girl just sitting there, but wouldn't take my paperwork but it wasn't her dr. So, she just sat there doing nothing and staring at me. When I called a second time to try to get the dr. to call me for an appointment the front desk girl was so RUDE and not helpful.

Five stars for my actual appointments, both therapy and medical Two to three stars for customer service Zero stars for billing, if that were possible on this scale. Terrible billing department. But if you can handle the drawbacks of the office experience, the care I’ve received in the last few years is nothing but wonderful.

Yosuke Kanii

It’s been years since I’ve visited, but when I was under the care of Dr. Garcia, he made me go out of my way to fill my prescription at a pharmacy of his choice. When I asked why it couldn’t be at a pharmacy closer to where I lived, he basically said it was to preserve business relations. Naive and depressed me didn’t realize this was illegal at the time. Don’t go to this man for care.

I wish that I had read the reviews before scheduling. As a former prosecutor, this practice has all the hallmarks of a classic "bait & switch" campaign. I reached out to inquire about therapy that was in-network with my insurance. A day or so after providing the office with my insurance information, the office contacted me to assure me that they were in-network and that my visits would be covered with a $30.00 co-pay. Relying on their assurance, I scheduled two visits with the provider and paid my co-pay prior to each visit. However, 12 days after my first visit, I received an EOB stating that $350.00 had been billed for the first visit and that it was not covered by my insurance. I immediately called the billing department and spoke to Courtney, who told me that I needed a referral from my PCP This was surprising both because it was the first time I was hearing it and because most insurances do not require referrals for mental health care (they do not want that to be a barrier to people getting treatment given the stigma that still surrounds mental illness). I contacted my insurance directly and was assured that no referral was needed and that the claim had been denied because the provider was not in-network. Nevertheless, I reached out to my PCP and obtained the requested referral just to ensure that I was doing everything on on my end to resolve the matter. Candidly, it felt like an invasion of my privacy to do so, but Courtney left me with little choice in the matter. I also spoke to Corinna, the office manager, and she was adamant that the provider was in-network and that they always check before scheduling new patients. She insisted that the doctor I was seeing was in-network with my insurance and confirmed that I was told that prior to scheduling my first appointment. There can be no question that I detrimentally relied on that when I scheduled and met with the doctor. So, the provider now has all the information it needs to do the right thing. If this was an honest error on their part, they will hold themselves accountable. However, based on the sheer number and similarity of complaints I suspect that something more nefarious may be going on. Rest assured that, should this provider attempt to collect any monies from the two office visits I had I will be bringing legal action: in small claims court; with the FTC; and with the Office of the Michigan Attorney General.

Make an appointment and get there 30 minutes early and let them know you are waiting. You should get in on time that way

Jossey Bertollini

They had me sitting there for 40 minutes later than my appointment time and still hadn’t seen us. I finally just had to leave. I knew I wouldn’t have time to answer 30 questions from some trainee just to go through the same 30 questions with the PA. Had to use a half day of vacation for nothing! Be considerate of your patients’ time!

Mackenzie Ford

Every time I have been here they have never once been on time. The first time I came I waited over two hours to been seen and everytime since then it has taken at least an hour and a half.

Nicole Roberts

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve never felt the need to write a review online until my experience with this office last night. I have been seeing Dr. Garcia/ his PA for five years now. Every single time I go in there is an error with the billing department despite my best efforts. Last night I went in for my appointment when the girl at the front desk told me I owed over $600 and if I didn’t pay at least half of that amount at that moment I would not be allowed to see the doctor. When I asked for an explanation of the bill she rolled her eyes and walked to the back. When she returned she told me to have a seat and someone from billing would be with me shortly. After waiting patiently for over 30 minutes I asked her if I would be able to talk to someone soon and if I was still going to be able to see my doctor. She was so condescending to me and again told me to sit down. I asked again if I could just talk to someone from billing and all she would say is to sit down. After another twenty minutes of waiting she called me up to the desk to tell me the billing department “gave me a huge discount” and that I now owed $300. When I started asking why I was being charged two different amounts for the same date of service (which occurred over a year prior) and for which I had already paid what they had told me at the time was the copay, she just kept pointing to the paper which explained nothing. I once more asked if someone from billing could explain the charges to me more thoroughly and she told me they had all gone home for the night. I was taken aback that after being in the office for almost an hour and having asked three times, no one could come out for two minutes to explain these (unjustified) charges. The girl at the desk then told me that I could see the doctor but if I did not pay the full $300 there would be no more appointments or refills of my medications, again in an extremely condescending tone. I couldn’t believe that after being treated so poorly over the last hour, I was now being threatened about getting my antidepressant medication. At that point I told her I would be finding a new doctor and I left. I never imagined the staff at a psychiatrists office would bully a patient, like they did to me last night. I have had better customer service and been treated better going to a fast food place than how I was treated last night at what is supposed to be a professional office. I did nothing to warrant being treated the way I was. The staff, aside from the doctors, in this office are deplorable and do not genuinely care about the well being of their patients at all. The billing department is crooked and shady. Saying they are extremely unprofessional would be an understatement, they should all find new jobs as they clearly are not suited to working in a psychiatry office.

Mary Johnston

There’s a misconception that this office is not good but it’s the best one yet that I have been to. Not enough patients that are satisfied put in a good review, only those who are truly troubled do, it seems. Everyone in this office is very accommodating. Yes, we all make mistakes and they go far and beyond their scope of expertise to try to help. I highly recommend this office.

All the bad reviews are incorrect. I have been going to this office for a long time and I’m sure when you reach a point where your account or insurance information is being addressed, that means that you’re not complying with office policy. I recommend this office. Providers are kind & caring. Staff always available.

This is the first negative review I've ever written for anything. I brought my son here for 4 appointments before discontinuing services and going elsewhere. The office is not kid friendly. There is nothing for kids in the waiting room. Our appointments were about an hour behind schedule. Dr. Garcia didn't put much effort into connecting with my son on a personal level. As a result, we discontinued services here. After deciding to leave, I asked for a price break for the initial evaluation only. During our phone conversation. Dr. Garcia said I was insulting him. I explained that I would have never agreed to the initial evaluation if I had known the appointments would always be an hour behind schedule. I explained I would have to pay this initial eval fee again at the new place. He didn't seem to care. He said he had bills to pay, and therefore, wasn't willing to waive any more than $85 of my total bill for the poor service. The initial eval alone was over $400. I've been teaching in Northville for 17+ years. I am a very patient and reasonable person. I don't like posting negative reviews. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. I tried to resolve the issue over the phone. No luck. Hopefully others can learn from my experience.

Leah Taylor

I’ve been a patient of dr Garcia for almost 6 years now. They’ve always been super helpful and he’s always listened to me and helped me get the right dosage. I’ll keep going even though I live far from his office now. He’s great and so is the staff!

Christi Elliott

I have been seeing Dr. Garcia for 12 years now. He is wonderful. He not only provides a timely, hassle free, comfortable , friendly experience but he also asks about my life, remembers details I have told him in the past and seems to genuinely care about his patients. Both him and his staff are wonderful and I couldn’t say better things about them.

Sarah Hall

I was very hesitant in taking my son here after reading all the negative reviews but I did not encounter a rude person or a negative experience during my son's appointment. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Would recommend the office to anyone.

Amy Molnar

I think the office staff is HORRIBLE! The office manager is negligent. However, Dr. Garcia is awesome, kind, and compassionate.
