I've never had a problem with my doctor here. Laurie Hammer is great, she is very caring and keeps you on track. A lot of people with psychological issues have strong opinions and are extremely moody. I was one of them - I've stuck to my doc for over 5 years and my life has improved significantly, without a doubt. **Remember, you are going for psychiatric treatment (diagnosis and Rx), you need an actual talk/behavioral therapist as well to make it work! And you have to take actual steps to do it! They can't make you do anything!

Care is fine. But could we please, please get rid of the GD acoustic version of "Here Comes The Sun" as the hold music? Come on people, really?!!?!?! It's almost as bad as the Simpson's episode where Marge calls the local sanitarium and the hold music is Patsy Cline's "Crazy."

This was my first experience with a psychiatriat. In the span of a few months, she made me feel belittled, patronized, and ignored and my concerns for my mental health were dismissed as just imagined side effects. I felt that at no point did anyone in this office have a genuine concern about my well-being as a patient. My psychiatrist was consistently late for my appointments and rushed me out as soon as her 40 minute window was up. She blatantly ignored my concern about the side effect of my antidepressant prescription, and increased the dosage when she should have stopped or switched prescriptions. I can't overemphasize this: I told the psychiatrist I felt increase d suicidality and she told me it was just in my imagination. Some kind of doctor.

Some of the therapists are excellent. Running the obstacle course to get in is the problem. Staff are insufferable---hang up on you, don't return phone calls, tell you that you HAVE spoken to administration when you have not, don't call in refills even when the doctor has been conscientious. It is all about the money. Complain about anything to the administration and that is evidence of severe mental illness. Really, community mental health centers like Riverside Community Care do a much better job with patient care. In short, Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates is a shaming place to go to. I don't understand why some on the therapists put up with the way their clients are treated.

So to cut to the chase my reason for the 2 star review is thus. Went in, first appointment was great, and so I booked a second appointment and completely forgot about it. About over a week later when I realized, I called the office and got no one. Over a week later calling multiple times a day I thought it potentially shut down, didnt make sense how the business couldnt answer a phone during standard business hours. Eventually I finally get to talk to someone and schedule another meeting and realize that because I missed my appointment I have to pay a whopping $175 fee....Mind you my copay is 30$ so basically I paid half a years worth, PLUS by actual copay so $205 total. I get that I was late and everything but with that much money I felt like I was getting a speeding ticket.

Very rude and unhelpful on the telephone. I called the intake department who stated that there is no availability for my son to be seen. When I asked about a wait list or whether to call back and ask about openings, they told me to try other offices. When I stated that no-one has openings, they were extremely uncaring about my situation and kept repeating themselves to call other offices none of which had any openings. They pretty much made it obvious that I should never call them again and had absolutely no empathy about any type of emotional suffering that any human being can have. I will never call this office again!

I found the best care I've ever had at this facility. The owner Audrey Nathan is so nice and caring and really makes sure everything possible is being done so that you can get better. I'm really impressed with the level of service I've received at this place, and very happy I found such a fantastic group of healthcare professionals.

The doctor and his staff make perfect match. Appointments are next to impossible to make. Both the doctor and his most lowly temp aide are condescending and extremely unhelpful. Calls are never returned. Patients are left without refills "until the doctor can see you" - which can be one month after current prescription expires... In short, this doctor is likely overbooked and most definitely never cares about any of his patients. Their insurance plans - maybe. He's likely doing some "groundbreaking research" which his outright rudeness and indifference to patients can be probably attributed to. Casually forgets to mention mild side effects to medicines he tries to prescribe, such as seizures. All in all, it's a rare find: perfectly negative experience without any bright side. Maybe that's why it's one of only a few offices one get into as new patient...

The doctor I saw here (Stephanie Davidoff) was terrible. She has no actual caring for her patients, instead only caring about getting you back to charge more money. She is untrustworthy and unprofessional. She sent me to the hospital without just cause because I challenged her on a medication issue and demanded my medical records after politely requesting them many times. She refused to send my records to other doctors and refused to show them to me with the excuse: “my handwriting is not good enough”. She used my symptoms and things I said against me and even baselessly claimed I was an addict to take responsibility off of herself. To this day my doctors still do not have my medical records from her office and the office even declined to send the records to Social Security. After filing a complaint to the board of medicine she and her office defended herself using straight up lies and villified me for having certain disorders. I once saw a therapist here who was just awful as well, and expensive. She always made sure to charge me the maximum, especially when in a crisis. When I finally got on a good meds regimen she found a way to change it to keep me coming back and paying more money. She took personal calls during appointments but made sure if I needed help that she would get the maximum money for the time. If you want someone to use your disorders against you this is the place.

I've had only good experiences with CPA. My doctor, who knows me well, called in a prescription promptly based on a phone consult during trying circumstances. It helped me tremendously. I'm thankful for their help, and have relied on them during times of personal difficulty.

I find the receptionists here kind and understanding. My doctor (Charles Adler) is courteous and professional. I've had good experiences there.

This place is once of the worst run places in my opinion. Billing does not coordinate with the receptionist that take appointment and they make you go in circles. The receptionists hand up and don't answer your questions. The worst receptionists and worst managed facility I have ever encountered in my life. This place is run worse than the worst bureaucratic government office.

I was a patient at Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates for 10 years. Looking back over that time period I found that my care at CPA was very subpar. Many many road signs were missed by my Psychiatrist on countless appointments during all of those years. I was told by several members of the CPA staff that my Psychiatrist was the best of the best in this area. I went undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder for the entire 10 years. I left CPA 4 years ago, and I was subsequently diagnosed with BP1 Disorder by 3 different Psychiatrists since leaving CPA. Now I am finally receiving the appropriate treatment today, and I feel much much better. I still scratch my head wondering why my Psychiatrist at CPA could not properly diagnose me during those 10 years and all of the appointments that I went on. Leaving CPA was one of the best decisions that I ever made. Today I am very grateful, happy, and healthy.

This company took 7 days after an the initial "intake" to finally get back to me, (after I called again..) only to inform me that they had no one available.

Do not ever go to this facility for psychiatric treatment. You will get better treatment from a car dealership. If I could give them a negative 10 rating I would, but you have to select at least one star They do not have any doctors who do both therapy and medication. So you need to make separate appointments with separate doctors (which means they make more money).. Also, their front desk staff is unfriendly and condescending. I had an appointment which I had to cancel due to work travel. I called during office hours and received the general voice mailbox where I left a voicemail stating the need to cancel/reschedule. A few weeks later I get a bill in the mail for $200 dollars. I told them that I called to cancel and that I wasn't going to pay it, but they still sent it to collections. I am disputing it now.
