I've been seeing Dr. Durruthy for a couple of years now. While she doesn't have a warm & fuzzy bedside manner, she knows her stuff. Her focus is symptom management and physiological imbalances (such as how long-term hormone irregularities contribute to depression). She is NOT a talk therapist, so don't expect to spend an hour spilling last week's highs and lows. Durruthy IS very knowledgable in how the brain works, so she WILL discuss the benefits of pharmaceuticals. Between her knowledge of brain chemistry on the back end, and my talk therapist walking me through healthier decision-making on the front end, I have made excellent progress in my path to recovery.
