I like the people here.

An awful place to work. Watch your back around staff and patients. Assults are common. If you work here you WILL be assulted by a patient. Some staff create a hostile work environment and try to get you written up for their own personal gain.

I loved working at Springfield for my 6 month music therapy internship. The staff I worked with were great, they worked hard to provide quality care, and I learned so much as a student there. I am so grateful for the internship program, and so glad to meet the wonderful patients, lead groups for them, and work with a few patients individually. Truly a great experience.

My brother has been receiving treatment here for just about 2 years. The staff has been extremely courteous not only to our family but to the patients. I am very impressed by the dignity that they give to the patients here. I visit weekly as do the rest of my family and have witnessed the kindness the staff has bestowed on the patients. My brother has improved greatly due to the medications, counseling, diet, and daily routines. I most highly recommend this hospital and would hope to have more facilities like this available.

I had a friend there. He was miserable..it was dirty, the staff was cruel,. It was a prison for him. No mental health care provided.

First, I would like to say if I could give this "hospital" zero start I would. My mother has been at this facility since 2012. At this time I was in college pursuing my degree in social work. This hospital is a horrible place for persons coping with mental illness' along with their family members. They treat the patients in the hospital as if they are prisoners, disregarding them, verbally abusing them, and using them and test subjects for medicines and diagnosis'. When they speak to the family members and lack professionalism, empathy, and they try to use scare tactics to get family members to do what they want them to do. The doctors do not communicate or review patient charts to know basic information. My mom has moved unites 5 or so times and each time I have to give BASIC information such as her birthday, how ling she had been in the facility, her history of how she got there, etc. One time the social worker was filing for her social security card and called me to ask her birth date, shouldn't that information be in her chart? I have explained to the doctors countless times my mothers triggers, they continue to put her in a environment that triggers her violent psychotic episodes, that can totally be avoided. They do not communicate with the somatic hospital, because of their failure to communicate my mother has had ammonia poisoning. I have had doctors there tell me " if you were there for your mother she wouldn't be going through this", " you are selfish and only thinking of yourself", " do you want your mother to die". Each of these statements have been on the first time of me speaking to Dr. Jasmine & Dr.Reyes-Soto. They lack professionalism. Dr.Jasmine left SPHC and ended up working the the same clinic that I worked at as a social worker. I was not informed that she left and my mother was receiving a new psychiatrist, which I should have been because I am the legal guardian, I knew because she ended up working with me. I went up to the hospital for a meeting to address the issue and the new psychiatrist Dr.Nawaka was trying to get me to tell her where Dr.Jasmine worked and what her position was. I know I am everywhere with this but I have so many years of this hospital and there lack of concern for their patient, my Mother. Recently, I did not consent to a surgery that they wanted my mother to have because I wanted to research, talk to the gyn, talk to my mother, and make an informed decision. Dr.Nawaka serves me with papers threatening to take me to court. This hospital is not used to family members that care advocating on the patients behalf. If you do not comply with what they want you to do they will try to use scare tactics to get you to do what they want. Recently, my mother was sent to the somatic hospital emergency room for SFHC. There was a "nurse" sitting with her from SFHC on her phone the whole time. My mother had been there from 5 am and had not eaten the entire day. Why didn't the nurse advocate for her? My mom is a diabetic. Also, my mom didn't get any of her meds while at the somatic hospital that day my mom is diabetic, has high blood pressure, and has psychiatric drugs she should be taken. Why didn't the "nurse" from SFHC advocate for her. I am tired of the treatment from this "hospital" and the lies being told on me. I do not trust them with my mother's care. I asked for records of a incident and Uris told me I could not have them, THIS IS A LIE!!!! Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors.

oobado .

It should be no stars. Springfield has a notorious past, not unlike a real "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." In the mid-1970's and prior, patients were "warehoused" and many subject to electroshock therapy and lobotomies. The facilities should be razed to the ground. Administrators and head physicians still alive from that period should be prosecuted for crimes of assault, abuse, cruelty, etc.

Found this place online, and it was extremely hard to find. Complete waste of a trip. The place is still running, only a FEW houses are abandon. But the abandon places, you can't even go inside.

Showers are growing mold, food is nasty. And the staff mocks patients.

Nice Try

I was told by an RN: -There was a patient(attractive Asian female) -Staff allowed her to be raped by other patients -She died under suspicious circumstances My question: Why hasn't this been investigated?
