As someone who has struggled to get the right treatment for ADD, I know how difficult it can be to navigate and find a psychiatrist that will listen to your needs. Each session was appropriately brief, as Dr. Rehman demonstrates great knowledge of treatment options. His confidence and collected demeanor gave me assurance that we would find an adequate treatment for my issues with focus and concentration. His staff members are incredibly warm and considerate. After I booked a conflicting appointment through ZocDoc, I received a phone call promptly from his assistant who was able to reschedule my visit to in a timely enough manner that I did not have a significant lapse in my prescription. I also find the appointment availability on Saturdays to be highly accommodating. I can't say enough about the benefits of working with Dr. Rehman and his team.

I am suffering from workplace related PTSD , too scared to go into the office, terrible flashbacks, nightmares, mind tricks of seeing work place supervisors in streets, imagining and re-imagining conversations etc. -- its a long story but I was badly harassed (including physical abuse) and powerless in the face of my situation. No one stood beside me though they knew the facts, my supervisor was just too powerful. My office ombuds took me to our office health unit , I was referred out etc. - by now have seen several psychiatrists - none have had the understanding and compassion of Dr. Rehman. He is simply amazing. I don't even need to tell him details, I just know that he knows and understands. I at last feel I am in good hands, furthermore I really appreciate how simple he makes the scheduling and paperwork, he always makes room for an appointment, how upbeat his staff are and how optimistic he is with my recovery - with previous doctor I felt I was swimming alone against the current in a river of molasses, now I have an encouraging knowledgeable expert guiding me to my recovery. What a relief !! The previous reviewer mentions seeing several patients go in while he waited - they probably squeezed him in on a day they renew existing prescriptions - they always fit you in , amazing place. At last I know I will recover 100% thanks to Dr. Rehman, I really look forward to my visits and his insight, I feel I have a gameplan for recovery - if you are looking for someone who is medically top-rate, compassionate and with scheduling flexibility I strongly recommend calling for an appointment, its hard out there ( last nutcase was in cahoots with my office and trying to convince me I was suffering from completely unrelated issues, extremely unethical and unprofessional, had sold out) I'm so glad I've found the right doctor for me and my circumstances.

I am on anxiety medication because I’m doing exposure therapy. This means I put myself in stressful situations on purpose. I tried to explain this to him. He assumed I was lying to get drugs. I don’t do drugs. Then he asked if he could see my arms and legs to make sure I was not injecting drugs. I was shocked. Some doctors will simply ask for a urine sample. I have never had to have my body inspected!

I read almost all of the reviews on Dr. Rehman and was very hopeful that he would be a compassionate, professional psychiatrist. We went to get some help for our teenager who is ODD and possibly suffering from depression. "Compassionate" is definitely not how we would describe our experience with Dr. Rehman. We cannot understand how he got so many positive reviews based on our experience. First, he admited he'd just read the email we'd sent ,outlining our experiences and concern over our child, right before we walked into the room. That was a little disconcerting, but it got worse. He asked to speak to our child alone. After two minutes, our angry child came out and left the office. Our child is ODD, so that didn't necessarily surprise us. We then went in to talk with Dr. Rehman. He didn't ask questions, listen, or show any compassion for our situation. He said he couldn't prescribe meds if our child wouldn't talk to him. Understandable! He went on to say that our child needed a military or boarding school, but needed to be removed from our home. Possibly true, BUT he basically told us that we could try bribing schools with money who would be hesitant to take him/her in, AND suggested that we could even lie to health professionals by hinting that our child had thrown around thoughts about suicide (which he/she has not!) to get him/her admitted to an inpatitent program. Unbelievable! Some other reviews suggested that Dr. Rehman was only interested in the money. It was odd that one of the first questions he asked us after sitting down was, "What type of work do you both do?" What does that have to do with anything related to our child's diagnosis? After paying our $200, he gave us about 10-15 minutes of his time and sent us on our way, disappointed and shocked by his unethical and unprofessional behavior. We would strongly discourage any parents from taking their child to Dr. Rehman.

I've only been to one other psychiatric practice before and it was a *terrible* experience--I never saw the actual psychiatrist and was misdiagnosed to boot by a nurse practitioner. (Nurse practitioners are awesome, but not this particular one...) So I wasn't actually sure what to expect with Dr. Rehman...not much, I guess. **...I was expecting him to take medical insurance, but he does not! So please be aware of that. They DO have medical insurance reimbursement forms that they will fill out, though! On my first visit, I had a bit of a wait time (as expected with any medical service), but the waiting room(s) were decent and comfortable. Free coffee and a TV playing. When I met Dr. Rehman, I explained I was already on medication and that I had felt that I needed to see a specialist, since nothing I was taking was working. He seemed patient while listening to me explain my long medical history, but I still felt a little rushed, possibly because I was very aware of the other patients in the waiting room and that doctors (of any type) are constantly busy. With all of that being said, he prescribed medication that I was very wary of, since I'm more used to the "traditional" route doctors take when prescribing medication, but I'd like to say that, while we are still trying to find the right dosages, I feel like the medication he prescribed had helped me in leaps and bounds mentally. Also when I started the new medication he encouraged me to come back in two weeks, which is surprising, since I'm used to "come back in a month" for...anything and everything. He's good about monitoring medication adjustment. On the third visit, I had to ask him about filling out FMLA forms and found out, to my dismay, I needed a separate appointment so he could take the time to properly fill it out. That was understandable, but he was kind enough to fill it out during my appointment with him. We're still fiddling with dosages, but it's safe to say that he is very supportive and open-minded when it comes to prescribing medicine (as in going for newer depression medication that actually works rather than sticking with traditional depression medication). PROS: Dr. Amir Rehman is a *very* attentive and patient listener and extremely supportive when it comes to psychiatric health whether you're on medication or not. He does encourage holistic approaches to psychiatric health which is nice and is very supportive and encourages you to take care of your health. He has different hours than other doctors do, but it fits my weird work schedule so I really don't mind it at all. Their office number is a number you can text--which was fantastic on my first visit. I texted them asking them if I could reschedule my appointment, because I wasn't going to make it on time, but they scheduled me for the same day for a later time. I'm not sure if it's something you can still do, because I call them now since it's faster, but I think their text-response was fast when I used it. CONS: I'm aware of the time constraints that Dr. Rehman has, but I still feel rushed during appointment times. I also don't like parking in the area that his office is located in since it's located in a busy, busy area. A suggestion I'd like to make is figuring out how to make prescriptions more readily available to people who are at a comfortable dosage, since I feel like making an appointment is both a waste of time and money if it's for the same prescription/dosage/whatever. Despite my complaints on time and parking, I definitely recommend him, since he is very attentive and really knows how to help you.

After extensive research for a highly rated psychiatrist in my area, I decided on Dr. Rehman even though he was an out of network provider. I went to him seeking help, instead he and his receptionist made me feel even worse. A miscommunication/misunderstanding about the cost of new medication resulted in them telling me that I needed to find a new doctor. They basically made me feel like I was a incompetent, lying, drug seeking junkie. I went there to get some insight about my current and ongoing symptoms but he immediately focused on my current meds and proceeded to write me new rxs for new drugs/meds......and I’m the junkie? I didn’t think I could feel worse than I already was but thanks to this experience I now know that it is indeed possible. For $300 I should have just emotionally assaulted myself. I can now add this Dr to my growing list of medical letdowns/disappointments. I don’t think I’m out of line when I say that it’s not only negligent and irresponsible for a psych Dr. to prescribe an antipsychotic to a new patient on Monday then tell them the next day to “find a new Dr.” but extremely dangerous. So I guess I’ll be looking for a new doctor tomorrow.

Dr. Rehman’s personalized treatment plan has been very effective for me. In short, I used to overplan, and strive for an impossible perfectionism that I could never achieve as it would inhibit me from actually completing any tasks I had started. Instead of beginning a task, I used to spend hours thinking of hundreds of different ways to perform the task, never actually following through. Now I am able to prioritize the best option and get started right away. I am more patient and present, and I don’t overthink as much. Interestingly enough, my initial visit with Dr. Rehman did not impress me. I went to my primary care and he recommended another professional of a higher calibre. After a month of waiting I went to this other professional and took a 30 minute ADD diagnostic test. The results of the test were very similar if not exactly what Dr. Rehman observed during our meeting. I can say that the second professional was more thorough in respect to the questions he had for me and I for him. Both professionals keep a full schedule but Dr. Rehman appears to keep his more in line i.e. no extensive waiting outside of your scheduled appointment. I'm giving a 5 star because I can't find 4.5 stars. I believe Dr. Rehman can be a bit more thorough even if it's only to comfort the patient's concerns about the next steps. I never visited doctors of any kind growing up and I'm definitely not one to take medication regularly. My negative take-away/con was that when i was presented with the first prescription, I did not understand what to expect. He advised of a few short lived side effects but nothing about how it should affect me as a person or what I should be expecting. I'm only going to assume most people go to him who have previously been diagnosed. In addition, the office manager Tonya is diligent, friendly and adds significant value to this practice. If she makes a suggestion, I would at the very least consider it. She has many many years of experience this this field. TLDR: Dr. Rehman is better than he appears. Trust his word and experience unless your gut tells you otherwise. Your gut is generally spot on.

I was out of my medications for a few days. My anxiety was high and motivation down. I cried as couldn't get appointment from my previous psychiatrist. I called a couple of offices but nobody could offer me immediate appointment. When i called Dr. Rehman's office and explained my urgency, the manager told me that she can help me to squeeze in but i might have to wait since Dr is fully booked. I took this oppertunity and did wait till he finished his scheduled appointments. The office staff was so supportive and assured me that i will be served. I was lucky to be seen on the same day. Doctor assessed me quickly but thoroughly and offered me some medication changes to help my condition better which i agreed and found even more affective. I am his patient since then. Once in a while i see his office overbooked which i think they try to accommodate all their patients as per their needs, travel plans and emergencies etc but the good thing is doc is quick and promt. I love this flexibility. I think some xanax addicts are not pleased with his office and it is better for them not to see this doctor unless they want his help to come off.

Absolutely the worst 'psychiatrist' if that's what he's even considered. This office is only open to take as many patients as possible to collect $$$. They have same day appt's(red flag)and you are in and out of there within 15 minutes. I watched 7 people come and go while I sat in the waiting area. No evaluation was done, zero compassion for patients and takes no time to hear what you, the patient has to say. Very judgemental as well. Trust me when I say this, they are only there to take your money and that's it. It's a husband and wife operation and if you want REAL psychiatric care DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Dr. Rehman gives us top care, discounts and great help finding medication at an affordable prices. Terrible experience !! I went to him after seeing reviews in zocdoc and healthgrade. And I was convinced with those reviews. But the experience was terrible. He didn't listen to my situation at all. I went to him for treatment of depression, but he rather made my problem worse. I recommend that it's better to throw your money to garbage than visiting him.

BEWARE! Dr. Rehman is a complete joke. On my first and only visit to Dr. Rehman, he made me wait nearly an hour after the scheduled appointment to see me. While I waited, I could hear his entire conversation with another patient, since the walls were so thin and his office is comically small. After literally waiting 55 minutes, he finally begins the session and I immediately notice there is an opening in the wall of his office for him to communicate easily with his receptionist. Meaning, there was not only no privacy, but the receptionist and anyone in the waiting area can hear your entire conversation with the doctor. But don't worry, the conversation lasts only 5 minutes and he has no interest in hearing about any of your issues. Instead, he does a quick glance at your paperwork and immediately diagnoses your issue and prescribes medication. I ask him if there's any other treatment for these issues (mostly depression/anxiety/lack of motivation) and he says "no, this is the only way. You can continue to live with these issues or you can take this medicine." And with that, I left. $250 down the drain. This guy is a joke.

Dr.Rehman is one of the most caring Doctor's that I have ever had. He truly does care compassionately about his patients and making them feel and be the best they can. A little over a month ago he gave me a complimentary shot to help break up the bursitis in my hip, it was to the point I couldn't sleep on my side, thus ensuring a restless night. So the next time he saw me he immediately asked how my hip was feeling when I told him how much better it felt and how much better I was sleeping he was overjoyed! His enthusiasm and care is cherished, especially because it's something you rarely get from Doctors.
