IF YOURE THINKING OF WORKING HERE — BEWARE!!! If you love incorrect paychecks/chasing HR for your EARNED money, not being allowed to take EARNED vacation days, reprimands for being sick once a year, and passive aggressive emails from upper management- then you have found your match. The major downfall if this company starts at the top. The “HR manager” is in Hawaii, which understandably is not an issue, as its 2018 and telework is a thing. But when shes 5 hours behind and your paycheck is half of what it should be, being told to “wait until the afternoon and maybe she can help” is a bit unacceptable. Upper management is uninvolved in day to day operations due to unrealistic expectations from the owner, so its constant tension and attitude when anything is needed. The owner won’t even acknowledge you when she sees you, but will send a passive aggressive email to you when something is incorrect, rather than teaching you the expectation. The “new” office also has a multitude of issues with bugs, mice, spiders, and snakes (yes snakes) which are not addressed but masked with “traps”, so clients have to get bombarded with disgusting bugs while they wait. The owner will promise specific holiday days off, then at the last minute send an email that she’s taking those days back and will force you to work. On top of all of this, the turnover rate is VERY high, especially for admins. Training is nonexistent and when one admin leaves, you’ll be forced to pick up the slack. Which, as an hourly employee is fine, but you’ll be reprimanded for working too much and told to go through an entire months worth of timecards and let her know why you worked so many hours. The end result will be being put on salary so you can work for free on Saturdays at minimum wage. The “benefits” package is nonexistent, as the fellow admins are caddy and will NOT help you cover your shifts for any vacations, which will result in losing earned time off. On that same note, if you should get sick, the management will reprimand you if your fellow admin refuse to cover your shift by calling you irresponsible- even if you have the flu. The company needs to work on humbling itself and remember who are their key players are, rather than constantly reminding the admin they’re “just admin” and chasing them out the door just as quickly as they’re hired.
