I’ve been a patient of Dr. Guarino for about two years and highly recommend him! He’s extremely knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. I’ve had too many unfortunate experiences with other various medical professionals in my lifetime. But I feel very understood and comfortable with Dr. Guarino and his expertise. He takes the time to explain and converse while many other doctors I’ve seen have generally been dismissive of significant and relevant matters. He never fails to be a wonderful and accommodating doctor who genuinely cares.

I've known dr. Walter G. For over a decade now. He's not only helpful and understanding but also thoughtful and has more knowledge about any and every condition. Be it neurological or mental then most dr.'s I have had any experience with. He cares about his patients, individual needs. He research's his patients fully and helps them to get to a better place and understanding of their own problems. He is a good dr., with great intentions and doesn't feed addictions, he treats disorders. In short dr.G is a reliable source to inner peace and better mental health.

I haven’t had good experiences with doctors in the past and was nervous about my appointment. I was immediately relieved when I arrived. The office was clean and had a cozy, feel but the the most important part was the kindness I felt from him. He listened carefully to what I had to say and I didn’t feel the condensation that is there with some doctors in this field that I’ve felt in the past . I left feeling much better. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Guarino. My only regret is that I didn't find him sooner in my life. Within the first 5 minutes of my initial visit with Dr. Guarino he understood exactly what was troubling me and made me feel at ease that with his help we would get through my situation together. He literally made my pain his problem. His interest in my recovery was and continues to be a personal matter to him. Dr. Guarino is a serious and responsible physician and is very meticulous about prescribing medications, finding the right dosages and monitoring closely their effects and benefits. I saw Dr Guarino for one visit. Gave him proof of my previous medications I was taking. His response over text was judgmental in saying with all that I was taking I needed a tranquilizer when I had explained to him one of them was one that was to be taken as needed. Very unprofessional and expensive for no reason as he had no staff. I never asked for a tranquilizer. I said I was taking to benzos, those are not tranquilizers, they are anti-anxiety medications and the fact that he just responded that I’m a woman is a violation of Hipaa. I was never given alternative remedies as he states and I never signed a medical release form the other psychiatrist to speak to anyone regarding my medical condition. His response to this is a complete fabrication. I have proof via text and have submitted a complaint to the VA medical board. My pharmacy told me that he said he was my doctor. That is not true as that was just my first appoint with Dr Guarino.

When my old psychiatrist of more than ten years retired, I was worried I wouldn’t find anyone nearly as knowledgeable and kind as my old doctor, whom I loved so much. Fortunately, I was referred to Dr. Guarino. He is conveniently located in the same office in Vienna, like my old doctor, but with a new feel. His office is such a lovely space. The decor is classy, calm, and inviting for the patient. He even has a white noise machine in the waiting area to protect privacy of the patient, which I think all psych doctors should have. The doctor’s bedside manner and years of experience is evident through his genteel nature and knowledge of all things medicine. I’m so grateful to have been referred to such a kind and caring doctor. He is always on time, very responsive by phone and even text. Thank you, Dr. Guarino!
