This facility does not deserve a one star due to its lack of professional management. The social worker does not know what she is doing as far advising family of their loved one's important information or completing necessary paperwork. There is no family involvement and family members are left to figure things out.

I didn't want to give any stars! My daughter was in there from hallucinating from being schiprehenic. Everyday she called she kept talking to herself. You would have thought they would've at least try to stabilize her, but they didn't! They kept her for 1 week and discharged her home on the same meds she was already on. On the way home she still was hallucinating badly almost jumped out of the car. I have called and left numerous messages for the social workers and still no returned calls! I want to know why would they send her home like this being a threat to herself and others. I will "never"send my child here again! It was her first and last time!

As a therapist with experience in addiction and mental health I highly recommend River Place Behavioral Health. The team is highly skilled in stabilization and patient care. I have had several experiences where I know I can trust the patient is in good hands and I can expect to receive regular communication. There are very few places I would trust the care of my own family member if the circumstances were necessary and River Place is one of them. The facility is comfortable, very clean and River Place does not just provide medical services, but offers art/therapy groups and staff genuinely cares.

After reading all the reviews it scares me to know my daughter is being admitted into this facility. I am going to visit my child soon, so a review would be posted. I'm praying and hoping, what I have read, things have change in 2019. Updates later. 05/29/2019

I was apprehensive at first but now lm confident that my family member is receiving excellent care. The River Place staff is very professional and helpful not at all like l had read in previous postings.

This place does not deserve any stars. The staff is completely unprofessional. There’s no way nurses should share patient information with other patients. The mental health techs are the worst. This place treats patients as if they are in a prison instead of a hospital. These people are all about the money. There was one incident involving the medical staff and a patient and the loud and vulgar language from the health care member was unbelievable. They also keep patients longer than necessary. The entire hospital needs to be closed down.

Horrible, zero communication with family members. Staff is overwhelmed and overworked they do peovide needed medical care and do not work with other doctors for a medical history.

I stayed here nearly 2 weeks. Me, having exteme issues (hence the reason for my stay) was means for constant supervision (one on one) almost for the entirety of my stay. The MHTs (except for literally 2) that had to 'supervise' me were more worried about having conversations with their co-workers about irrelevant and sometimes inappropriate matters than keeping me out of harm. I can remember being literally mocked by a tech for something I can't control. One night, all the patients went to sleep and nurses did not do medications until around 11pm and we all had to be woken up. Why? They were eating takeout. Very displeased. This place almost prevented me from being able to graduate high school. I wish I could give a lower or 0 star rating.

absolutely horrible staff. was never listened to or taken seriously. they somehow managed to lose my belongings. they laughed at and agitated some of the more ill patients. the techs were very unprofessional, sarcastic and they talked inappropriately. i was treated like a basket case even though the only reason i was there was because of depression. was kept longer than i felt necessary and was never treated for anything. i felt very unsafe. im an 18 year old girl and older patients would make comments towards me, they would follow me and harrass me and nothing was done about it. i was terrified my entire stay. would not at all recommend this place for anyone. completely discusting.

The Journey Home

RiverPlace took a client who had extra boarderline personality disorder when she self harmed. This client had been to over 20 facilities in her lifetime. When I went to pick her up after being at RiverPlace, she didn’t want to leave because she enjoyed her experience so much. They are our go to!

The staff was great , I really enjoyed what they did for me. The things I disliked was the horrible food and the fact that they dont let patients smoke. Very unenjoyable as a patient to there. They fix everything woth 25mg of seraquil.

If you are looking for a place of treatment so that your love one may return home better, than I suggest that you look else where. Do NOT send your love one to this facility.

Checked in voluntarily looking for help with my CPTSD. Psychiatrist and Nurse Practitioner gave me conflicting statements on my meds and claimed to have spoken with me about stopping a medication when they definitely did not tell me. At one point I sincerely needed medical attention and no one called an ambulance, or my parents, and instead tried to give me tylenol. When I couldn't stop crying from the pain they tackled me to the ground (I weigh about 120 lbs and was sitting in a chair, not doing anything but crying and asking for help) and gave me a shot for no reason. I was left with bruises and scratches all over my body. Those staff members were taken off the schedule but not fired. Tech staff discussed triggering topics in front of patients with addictive personality disorder such as drinking, partying, and sex, and frequently gossiped about or made fun of the more visibly disturbed patients. Techs also cursed every other word and one complained loudly that they didn't have the freedom to give out sedative (tranquelizer) shots without the doctor's permission. My clothes were lost by staff, no one took pictures of the bruises patients had from staff members because it was, "against their policy," and they sent me home with no set follow up appointments and coming down off of an antidepressant that they did not replace. I will never seek help again because of this place. I filed complaints with the hospital and the state but I fear nothing will be done. Do not send your loved ones here. Please.

I didnt even want to give 1 star. The staff is lazy, disrespectful, and most of all the visitations do NOT last 1 hour. They didnt call us to the back till 4:15pm. Then had to wait another 5 minutes to visit. And we were told it was over at 5pm. Very disappointed in this hospitals staff choices.

Incompetent, horrible, lazy and outright evil people. Incredibly unorganized. Please do not let your loved ones go here! It will only traumatize them! A family member of mine was there and they lost her clothes and stuff, forgot to give her the prescription, didn’t do any of the activities they said they would, and let incredible dangerous individuals around her. It was a terrifying and traumatic experience for her thanks to these heartless idiots. The staff and directors should be ashamed of themselves. I am disgusted with their disregard for vulnerable people. They should not be responsible for taking care of mentally ill people, I wouldn’t even trust these fools with flipping burgers! I just hope someone sees this so that one less person has to go here, I’m sure there are much better clinics out there they could turn to instead! Getting help is important but this place is not where you’ll find it!
