I took my child to see Joni Orazio because she bills herself as a child expert. However, she is a horrible woman and bad doctor. She was more concerned talking about her family travels, and the photos she took, than my daughter. She saw my preteen daughter because she was feeling depressed about her grandfather getting very sick. She also missed her dad, that was living in another state. Orazio hardly spent any time with her and immediately started drugging her. Practically with each appt. the drugs increased. When she started talking about lithium I'd had enough. My daughter was going through preteen troubles. She was not schizophrenic. Extremely concerned, I sought advice from a friend of the family, and old established psychiatrist in Lafayette. When this doctor heard the name Orazio, he/she told me to take my daughter and run! He/she told me Orazio is known for giving kids heavy drugs. Orazio has a God complex...a very disturbing and obvious one. Do not seek advice from her, and especially do not let her at your child!

Referred by a friend for my daughter to see Dr. Joni Orazio - best decision I could have made; she is a gifted psychiatrist and her staff is top-notch, knowledgable and caring. Might have to wait for an appointment but definitely worth it.
