I looked for a place to make a rebuttal regarding some of the negative reviews and could not find one. Therefore I wanted to express to those of you who may have concerns that we have had several front desk turnovers during the last year, and there have definitely been some issues related to that. We are in the process of training new people who will reflect the overall point of view of Family Focus. We are very patient-oriented and care so much about helping people who have mental health issues get back on track and attain coping skills. We spend a great deal of time with each person assessing, discussing, and treating very complicated psychiatric issues which involve not just individuals but their families, jobs, friends, and functioning.
We are private pay, and that is because we do want to spend extra time with our patients and get to know them beyond the 15 minutes that insurance would allow for a medication management session. Instead, we do 30 minutes. We’re not perfect by any stretch, but we absolutely do care and try our best to get people better. Our system of doing that is certainly not going to be a perfect fit for everyone. We are aware that there are other options that fit different lifestyles and different points of view. We hope though, that you will read the negative reviews with a grain of salt. It appears that disappointed people are much more eager to express their views than people who are content and happy. Please be sure to give us a chance if you are in need of mental health treatment. We are happy to talk with you to see if we would be a good fit for you. If not, we also make great efforts to try to make appropriate referrals to other agencies that might be a better fit. Regardless, getting mental health treatment when necessary is so important. Whether is with us or elsewhere, we encourage you to find the right place for you, the right provider, and make sure that mental health issues are addressed.
