I valued my sessions with Dr Ault. However, I am underwhelmed by the way this practice is managed. There is a general lack of customer service relative to the countless other practices I have experience with over the last twenty plus years. There is little to no consideration for human factors when enforcing their rigid policies. Six days before my appointment, I was unaware that I wouldn't be able to make it, but with the holiday schedule that's how much foresight I would have needed to conform to the 48 hour cancellation notice. I had legitimately missed an appointment too, my error my responsibility. Still, when you're handing over $280 to the receptionist who then complains about how slow their day is you can't help but wonder if that time couldn't be spent providing reminder calls -- especially with three months between visits -- that are considered customary at many health care providers. Or perhaps that time could spent filing claims for at least the largest insurance carriers in our market. The practice offers a form of electronic patient communication, but it's very clunky and even makes Epic's software feel modern. I guess it's a step up from the written appointment reminder card the receptionist prepares as you leave. Just another private practice that's slow to adapt to the changing landscape of healthcare technology. You can debate a lot of the issues I've mentioned so far, but surely it shouldn't take three tries for the practice to process your written release paperwork. At the time I could look passed the twenty minutes I took out of my work day to prepare it the third time. Stuff happens right? But this practice doesn't consider their own mistakes when deciding how to handle a patient that would benefit from leniency.

I looked for a place to make a rebuttal regarding some of the negative reviews and could not find one. Therefore I wanted to express to those of you who may have concerns that we have had several front desk turnovers during the last year, and there have definitely been some issues related to that. We are in the process of training new people who will reflect the overall point of view of Family Focus. We are very patient-oriented and care so much about helping people who have mental health issues get back on track and attain coping skills. We spend a great deal of time with each person assessing, discussing, and treating very complicated psychiatric issues which involve not just individuals but their families, jobs, friends, and functioning. We are private pay, and that is because we do want to spend extra time with our patients and get to know them beyond the 15 minutes that insurance would allow for a medication management session. Instead, we do 30 minutes. We’re not perfect by any stretch, but we absolutely do care and try our best to get people better. Our system of doing that is certainly not going to be a perfect fit for everyone. We are aware that there are other options that fit different lifestyles and different points of view. We hope though, that you will read the negative reviews with a grain of salt. It appears that disappointed people are much more eager to express their views than people who are content and happy. Please be sure to give us a chance if you are in need of mental health treatment. We are happy to talk with you to see if we would be a good fit for you. If not, we also make great efforts to try to make appropriate referrals to other agencies that might be a better fit. Regardless, getting mental health treatment when necessary is so important. Whether is with us or elsewhere, we encourage you to find the right place for you, the right provider, and make sure that mental health issues are addressed.

Dr. Fargason has been seeing my son and I for 10 years. I could not be happier with the services provided by all the staff at Family Focus. I was at my wit's end but found a compassionate, helpful group willing to assist in any way possible. The issues that were behind me seeking help are years behind us now and we both look forward to our visits to see Dr. Donna for our regular follow ups. I am forever grateful to Family Focus for helping my family.

They do not accept insurance and demand a $200 deposit to hold your appointment, which will be months away from the day you try to book it. That seems awfully profit-driven for a practice that is supposedly in the business of helping people.

My experience was very supportive with Family Focus. Felt taken care of. I would recommend this wonderful caring center to anyone looking to help for support and direction in mental health and well-being. Felt there were many ways to tackle life’s issues. I personally liked that they had a thearpy service with horses. Many informative pamphlets available privately. Felt very safe and private.

Family Focus and Associates is not focused on the families of their patients. Their only focus is on making sure they receive $140 per visit at all cost. The practice has a 48 hour cancellation policy which is absolutely punitive especially when dealing with school age patients. One time my child was not feeling well and I had to cancel the day of our appointment. I was warned that they would have to charge the $140 for missing the appointment. Although not happy, I totally understood that calling on the day of to cancel is not fair to a business owner. I get that. This morning I realized that there is a schedule conflict during my daughter's appointment time scheduled for the next day at 3pm. I called to reschedule for the next available appointment and was told that I would be charged $140. Mind you I would still need to pay $140 for the rescheduled appointment. They don't even offer a reminder phone call, text or email. Unacceptable, considering the punitive nature of their cancellation policy. Their only FOCUS is banking on cancellations to increase their bottomline.
