Cosmic Cowgirl

Only one group on my last day which was 7/30. That was just a check-in group with a tech, not the social worker. Schedule says at least four groups per day. Last day, 7/30, we had one hour of recreation in the gym. The only gym visit prior to that day was on 7/25. We watched at least five hours of movies per day, each hour approximately two hours long. We signed a sheet one time saying we did the activity which was watching a movie. On July 30, my last day there, we witnessed one patient from another unit in a wheelchair be left behind by her unit. She had the shakes so badly, she could not feed herself. A patient from our unit spoon-fed her. Even though the tech's saw she needed help, they did not help her. Techs did daily check-in only one day, my last day, 7/30. Each crew did things very differently. One crew let us watch TV all day, every day. Another crew would say "Only until 7:30 at night" while another crew let us watch until 9:30. I was not advised they had toiletries and toothbrushes available to us until 7/27, more than 24 hours after admission, by the nighttime tech who gave an orientation speech. That was the only orientation speech given during my stay. On July 29, after dinner, we were asked to sign a paper stating we had attended a group session earlier that morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. In actuality, we did not have a group session that morning. Most of the patients signed the paper and turned it in, acting in good faith. I did not sign the form because the information was inaccurate. When three of us questioned the tech, Natalia, she said we didn't have group because the group chose to smoke. However, smoke time is built into the schedule with the group time.

Do not go here. Do not bring a loved one here. The management is in chaos The staff had a few very bright stars but the majority seemed vastly uncaring. The treatment was practically non-existent.

Angie King who helped wirh intake was so helpful and amazing. All staff treated me with respect and compassion. I felt like they all work there to really help others and it showed. The doctors and especially Dr. Shanta was so wonderful and smart and insightful and I really felt that she understood my anxiety and depression issues and wanted to help me in every way and also with putting me on the right medications. They also wouldnt let me leave until they knew that I had a family plan and resources and also future therapy and medical care. I was in excellent hands and was actually a little sad to leave. I would highly recommend this facility to all including family and friends. My best interest was all they were worried about!!! Thanks so much for everything you did and for starting me off on my new leaf.

This place was horrible! The doctors NEVER communicated with the family the entire two weeks my child was placed here! And even on discharge we were never given an opportunity to talk to the doctor who had prescribed medicines with the side effect "Death" Never allow your loved one to be placed here!

This place is nothing more than a scam. If you have good insurance or a lot of money, they will keep you there longer than necessary. The food is terrible, the beds are no more than what your doctor uses as an exam table, the pillows are one inch thick. OK, I said scam. They do not want you to have a good nights sleep, so you are not happy. They do not have good food, so you are not happy, they are not set up for visually impaired persons, they take away your stick and assign someone not trained in sightless people, to escort you around, so you are not happy. They can keep you longer than the seventy two hour diagnostic period if they want to, you have good insurance, you very well could be there a while. I would strongly suggest looking else where for your mental health needs.

David Phillips

Greenbriar is a for-profit only corporation with (at the CEO/Upper management level) zero concept of ethical medical practice. This can be confirmed and verified by previous employees including Dr. James Sholtz, M.D. of Covington and Quantum Physicist Dr. David Phillips of Hammond, LA, who in December 2016 was accidently PEC'd by a colleague, went through the system and was held prisoner (deprived of life, liberty and the persuit of happiness, in addition to being 100% cut off from his one and only outlet to the global population, the internet, thus depriving him of free speech as well. This is in addition to his estate (house) being left wide open, unsecured for the entire 15 days for anyone to walk in and make themselves at home in my dwelling and associated integrated research facilities. The staff were made aware of this from day one. During this false imprisonment of an already lifelong VICTIM of mental depression and anxiety among other social dysfunctional features, at no point did I display any DSM-enumerable elements that would indicat any interest in harm to myself or others (I'm a Doctor, I treat neurological disorders, perform neuropsych, Crisis intervention, addiction reversal among other things. Zero psychiatric or otherwise debilitating syndrome/illness on my part were displayed at any time during my/his forced stay while the Corporates profited off of his insurance (medicare). Basically, if a patients insurance stops paying after day 4, patient goes home day 5. If a patients insurance pays for the entire 15 days, patient is kept for 15 days, regardless of patient improvement status. This is just the tip of the iceberg however. For example, the zero security and being left for dead for four days in an unmonitored room (due to severe understaffing) placed Dr. David Phillips in a vulnerable position to being attacked by an actually "unstable, violent" patient, who could have at any time attacked me (instead he physically attacked a woman inmate and us, the patient population (not the staff) neutralized the assailant. Also, becaus ethere was no security, this made it rediculously easy for a computer engineer like myself to seamlessly gain full access to all computer network traffic on the faciliti'es LAn and incomming/outgoing WAN traffic, 100% of the packets which I still posess in libpcap format. The ceo now has an option to give back to me the 15 days of would-be genuine human experience while he profited off of my insurance payor, but as this was a december 2016 catastrophic event with lasting psychological consequences his company is long overdue in repayment. Obviously the ignoranus parent company(s) are unable to "give back" days of human life, so an arbitrary amount of $16.7 million US dollars per day was informally agreed upon late 2016. Unfortunately for Greenbriar, David Phillips has no user for physical money as everything hed want to buy cannot be purchased with money (genuine ethical friends, healthcare reform, etc). It is up to Greenbriar to contact me (I'm available 24/7, literally) and can be reached by teleconference, quantum teleportation, digital online collaboration, and even conventional phone conversation.

Will keep you as long as your insurance pays regardless of your condition. Stopped all my prescribed medications (all non-narcotic) and it took from Friday to Monday to get me on the new meds, which did not agree with me. I ended up in the ER because of a reaction to the new meds. My blood pressure never went below 175/100 the entire 8 days I was there. I spent a total of 20 minutes over three visits with 2 different psychiatrists in the entire time I was admitted. The counseling sessions were geared to the least able on the unit, not helpful to me at all. The only good things I can say about this hospital is the care given by the 'techs' (who are poorly paid and over-worked) is good and the cafeteria doesn't suck.

I was treated like a child They will not move you out of rooms with crazy people no matter how much you argue and cry This woman woke me up several times talking loud too herself and the medicine they gave me i couldnt get up too get away I woke up 4 times she started screaming on the 5th and they didnt even hear it and wouldnt believe me when i said she was doing it I have severe almost crippling anxiety and they sent me into a panic attack they told me too lay down and that i was acting like a child I was breathing so heavily i almost passed out!!! They give you teddy grams animal crackers yogurt chex and a small container of apple juice!! We turned on the tv and the nurse walked up and said and i quote "its not tv time" and turned it off!! They refused to give one lady her migraine medicine and she was crying and throwing up for an hour I tried to give her my 5 minute phone time to talk to her little kids and husband which she had to give news to him about a big step she was taking in her recovery! The point is if you dont like being treated like a child you have children or/and you have severe anxiety seriously consider going here

They forced me to stay in their horrible inpatient program when I went there just to ask questions about their outpatient program. They also said repeatedly that the financial aid department would be able to help me with the bill. They ignored my calls, lied, and are still sending me collection notices for over a thousand dollars a year later. I do not have the money and I will not be FORCED to pay for treatment I WAS FORCED TO RECEIVE AND I DID NOT WANT!!!! The psychiatrist I saw there was very rude, and I only actually spent about a total of 20 minutes with an actual doctor the whole week I was there. No one there cares about the patients. It’s all about money. And just so you’re aware, you can sign a paper stating that they have to let you out within 72 hours. Another patient told me that and it was the only reason I was able to leave after a week. All you’re going to do the entire time you’re there is watch movies as a group. And if you’re in a wheelchair you cannot expect help from the techs. One patient in my unit was in a wheelchair and always had to find another patient to push him to meals and get his food for him. Not once did I ever see a single employee help him. DON’T GO HERE!!!

Very crappy place to work for.

This place is a joke and a scam. Stay far far away!

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. For anything other than the most simple detox stay, this is an inhumane place for treatment. If you aren't a smoker or willing to tolerate 15 other people smoking in a confined space, you won't get fresh air during your stay. Avoid this place at all costs.

Do not bring your loved one there!! They released my mother today in absolutely terrible condition. They gave her some kind of shot when they released her that rendered her immobile. She had to crawl to the door to let me in and I had to help her to the bathroom. She was ma

Worst seven days of my life!! Absolutely no groups or therapy of any kind. We played Pictionary once and a word association game once! Had to sign group worksheets daily but had no group!! All they did was watch movies the entire time! Met with the psych only twice and for some reason I don’t think she believed in Borderline Personality Disorder, which I am diagnosed with along with Bipolar 1. Saw a social worker one time the whole week. The cafeteria food is despicable and is not fit for a dog. They time you on your phone breaks and don’t allow you the full time you are supposed to have. Gave you Chex mix twice a day as a snack and nothing but water to drink. Some of the techs were snooty and did not listen to you. I was there for two days before my husband even knew where I was or I was able to get clean clothing brought to me because I didn’t know his phone number by memory and no one would look his work number up for me until then. She did it for me on her own phone. Thank god I found a book to read to keep me busy the whole week. I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy!!

Zero compassion for the patient and their families. My daughter needed help and we needed resources. No communication with us and seemed to not care much about her either. I thought I was doing the right thing when I had her admitted. I now know better. There are far better places out there for your loved one. I promised my daughter I would never put her in this place ever again.

I felt like the majority of the staff really cared about the well being of the patients. Jacob was the hardest working tech on the day shift . Nurse Jennifer truly looked out for the patients. 'D' was a great tech on the night shift.
