My husband has been using Dr. Aznaurova for the last 2 years for mental health treatment related to PTSD and anxiety disorders. Dr. Aznaurova initially helped him through a difficult time, worked with him to establish an appropriate medication regimen. He had been thriving on the medication and felt better than he had in many years. Recently, specifically over Christmas break, Dr. Aznaurova and her office failed to return his phone calls to get a refill. A lapse in taking the medication causes discontinuation syndrome- he had panic/anxiety attacks, uncontrollable emotional outbursts, his heart rate was incredibly high, and he could not perform his normal duties. Mind you, this was Christmas- a time to gather and celebrate life's blessings. I can assure you there was little to celebrate, and, honestly, the only thing I was celebrating was the fact that my husband was living through each day. Yes, it was that bad!! After the break, he called and set up an appointment to be seen and his Rx was refilled. As he was preparing for a work trip today, he realized that his medication was going to run out before he left and that his appointment was actually scheduled for when he would be gone. He called to see what could be done and they said it was his fault for the scheduling error and they would not refill it. Mistakes happen and we understand that one was made on his part, but for the second time in a month the office chose to not refill a medication that is known to cause incredible psychiatric withdrawal symptoms. As a medical professional, Dr. Aznaurova (and her staff) are responsible to deliver sound medical treatment in a consistent and respectful manner. My husband has worked incredibly hard to get to where he is today and Dr. Aznaurova was once a part of his success, but after these events, she will never have the opportunity to work with us again. I don't care if this review only helps one person, it will be one more person who doesn't have to be subjected to the careless and insensitive treatment this doctor and staff have provided. And, if the medical office happens to read this, please, we beg you, improve your staff-to-patient correspondence. My husband has never felt so unsupported by people who should be in his corner. Disheartening!
