I can’t say enough good things about the Lilac Center. Over the past ten months, it has become my home away from home and I have had nothing but great experiences with all of the wonderful people who work there. Megan and Jill at the front desks are so incredibly sweet, welcoming and caring. Lauren is my Young Adult group leader and I truly look forward to seeing her and learning from her every week. Shannon has made waking up on Saturday mornings for the past ten months worthwhile with her creative, thought-provoking art therapy sessions. Dr. Trueblood is thorough and has found a combination of medicine that works well for me. Lastly, but most importantly, seeing Mara every week for my individual appointment has been an absolute blessing. She is caring, kind, relatable and has taught me so many skills to help me become a better person. I feel like I have my own personal team of cheerleaders at the Lilac Center and there’s nothing better than that when you’re going through rough times.

My son has visited for only a few months, they have done what others have not been able to do in 4 years! He is a happy kid again and even though the trauma and PTSD will be something he deals with for a lifetime, he now has skills that have benefitted the whole family...and he is no longer suicidal but looks forward to helping others who suffer. Stick with the program, put the suggestions into action and be patient, it really works and they give you practical help that isn't just cliche but helps you focus on root actions to enrich outcomes of the choices you make....thank you guys for all your help!

Been going here off & on for about 3 or 4 years. Never finished the program but its always been because of me, nothing else. I love the group therapy & individual is very helpful especially when you just need to get things off your chest.

The Lilac Center is a wonderful place to seek treatment. I have never been to a place that has ever helped me as much. The therapists, doctor, and staff are extremely professional and are great at teaching you how to better yourself.

I can't say enough about the staff here! Their approach to DBT skills is amazing. The doctors I see are definitely skills before pills. The information they have given me has allowed me to become a better person

Extremely poor therapist. Attempted to use them for our minor daughter and they only made things worse. She did not work with the family to make things better only wanted to push her agenda which was opposite our traditional family values. Continually hid behind HIPAA to avoid talking with us. Spoke directly with the owners about our concerns but nothing changed. Nine months later they still have not resolved the billing issues. Would not use them. Would advise against using them.

The receptionists at the hospital hill and prairie village locations are terrible!!! No one ever answers the phone. The receptionist at hospital hill literally screens calls and doesn't answer if she doesn't want to talk to you. When they do answer they are very rude and act like you're inconviencing them. Also make sure you bring your money with you if you go to the prairie villiage location because the receptionist there demands that you pay BEFORE you see your therapist and refuses to bill you. Apparently they don't understand that some people are under the age of 25 and that their parents health insurance task card is what pays for your medical expenses. This place is supposed to help you when your life becomes difficult but they actually make your life more difficult. So unprofessional. My therapist even mentioned how much of a problem it was.

I have been going to the Lilac for years now. I love Dr. Trublood, my therapist Shannon & Amy. Everyone in the office especially Denise makes you feel comfortable & like a family. Out of all the mental health facilities in Kansas & Missouri THE LILAC is the one to go to! They will change not only your life, but your loved ones. Its is by far worth the drive/insurance if your on the fence about other places to go. The skills I have been given by Dr. T, my therapy, & group therapy I use every day. I have read Amy's DBT book, and still pull it out from time to time to refer back to in hard times. I had previously been nervous for group therapy. This therapy makes you feel welcomed, & you learn a lot. I hope my review touched at least one person to not give up. Dr. Trublood is the best!

The lilac center has been wonderful for myself and daughter. Megan at the front desk always has an upbeat and positive attitude which is so helpful to see when walking in the door. I would recommend to anyone seeking therapy especially for a teen.
