This was our first appointment with Patty McCoy but not at the practice. She treated us aggressively and rude from the moment she came to the waiting room. We were transferred to her because our Dr. left the practice. She was argumentative, accusing, abrupt and constantly interrupted us. She was in no way helpful or conducive to my son's mental health. We will not be returning.

I am in shock by all of these negative reviews, especially the ones about Dr. Duncan. I absolutely love her! I have went to a million therapists and a million psychiatrist within the past 17 years of my life, and I have never felt comfortable with any of them. When I met Dr. Duncan she really turned my life around. I feel incredible! I can finally drive, go out with my friends, and experience a life without depression and anxiety. Her and her assistant were very detailed about the issues I had been experiencing. Most psychiatrists don't care, and just throw medication at you. She is the most caring Doctor ever!

Justina Strode

I've been seeing Dr. Young for over a year and a half, he does a great job listening, but most of my talking is done at my therapist. He's an easy person to work with!

I am horrified that I even have to give this place one star. This place is one of the very few in the Northland, let alone serving minor's in need, so you're already fairly handcuffed to places you can go. Every time we went in, we waited an average of 80 minutes past our appointment time, yet on 3 different occurrences, our provider (Patty McCoy) was either extremely late, or called off last minute. While I understand that things occur, they are less forgiving to you if you do the same thing to them. For instance, we had an illness that prevented attending the appointment, and we called within several hours of our appointed time, but they told us that we would be bumped from Patty's visit cycle and could only go back in as a "walk-in". What!? My child needed refill's on the meds he was on, or else he could suffer potentially terrible side affects, right!? So we had to go back in as a walk-in, wait almost 3 hours, then get back to appointments, which were met with unreasonable wait times, again. The worst part for me, was every time we met with Patty, it was like she had never even met us before, and either her note taking skills were poor, or her ability to read her own prior notes (while sitting in her office), was abysmal. It was like starting all over each visit. When I didn't think it could get worse, it did. Toward the last few sessions we had with CPA, we weren't getting positive results with what Patty prescribed my son, and she told me "we just have to find the right cocktail". I was floored. While I understand the principle of what she was trying to say, I abhor someone playing with my child's brain. I wanted solutions, and she seemed so unsure about any direction, that my faith in confidence in her was shattered. Why did I keep going back? Because there are little to no other options unless I wish to drive to the opposite side of KC. Now, they flat out refuse to see my child because we "missed too many appointment's", however, they billed me for the appointment that Patty missed because she called in sick. The hypocrisy and lack of professionalism is something I would consider before attempting to book an appointment with CPA. I'm doing everything I can to spread the word that driving 30+ miles away is not nearly far enough away to avoid this place.

Adam Jones

Complete disappointment. The office staff are incredibly rude and act like I'm an inconvenience to call. There is zero empathy. The receptionist is so rude and won't return calls. I've never had to deal with such rude staff. They're impossible to get into- and honestly, not worth the wait. Nothing special here.

I think it’s important to remember that the most important things to review here are the DOCTORS. I've been coming here for years and yes, the waiting room is not the best but it's only a bit dull, not the terrible experience people are saying. The phone system has improved a lot recently as well, and I wouldn’t have given this practice five stars if it hadn’t. The doctors are great and the bad reviews about one in particular are only people who dislike his particular style of treatment, which is simply not for everyone but not lacking in professionalism, knowledge, or thoroughness. Don't let the low stars dissuade you.

Called to see what the process was for an appointment and the lady was rude. I faxed the new patient paperwork like she said and nobody ever called or followed up. I can't even imagine how they would treat my child if I can't even have a friendly conversation with the lady that answered the phone. I will go elsewhere.

I have been a patient of two different doctors at this practice and loved them both. I was diagnosed with severe ADD and BiPolar Disorder (back then it was referred to as Manic Depression) when I was just 7 years old. The reason I like these doctors is because they recognize that I have been living with this for the past 25 years and instead of telling me to increase/decrease my medications or testing me out on a bunch of stuff I've already tried or brand new medications I have no desire to try, they ask and LISTEN to what -I- want to do. I can't adequately express how frustrating it is to go to a new doctor and have them ignore you when you tell them "no-that will not work for me, but this does so here's what I want to do", all because they went to medical school and have been practicing psychiatry for the past few years, despite the fact that you've been living with it day in and day out for over two decades. With that being said, I do not recommend them to people who have been recently diagnosed as they are not great with coming up with brand new medication plans. I am only giving 3 stars, and honestly considered only giving 2, solely because the excellence of their physicians is severely overshadowed by the lack of organization and competence of their administrative staff. The billing department has absolutely no knowledge or consideration of timely filing limitations or medical billing guidelines in the state of Missouri and their front desk team frequently processes payments incorrectly and sometimes forgets to enter payments all together. If you intend to use this practice, be sure to save all of your receipts and credit/debit card statements so you can prove you've paid when they inevitably send you a bill for an office visit you paid for, but the front desk forgot to enter, or entered incorrectly.

I have been seeing Dr Barash for 3-4 years and he is amazing. He connects with me, actively listens to my problems, and is very attentive. He always takes my needs and feelings into consideration. While the front desk staff can sometimes be difficult, it's somewhat understandable due to the large amount of patients they have. When I leave a message, I ALWAYS get a call back within 24 hours. This office is great, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Meredith Bennett

I would wait, park 5 blocks away, whatever it took to see a caring psychiatrist. I don't find Dr. Duncan to be that person. In fact, I am baffled as to why she chose this profession. Have seen her 3 times, and will not go back due to her uncaring, negative behavior. She chose to dress me down in front of the medical student at my last visit. I requested another physician, but the person that answered the phone, said "we don't jump around like that", which was the opposite of the person that I spoke with for my first visit, who told me she would make me an appointment with Dr. Duncan, just so that I could get in sooner. That should have been my red flag. If you are in need, don't do this to yourself. See another physician.

Jennifer Howell

I don't know why I'm just now writing this review. My son has been a patient here for 5 years and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. We've seen several different providers and had a great experience with all of them. Dr Barash is outstanding! I greatly appreciate the dedication to quality care he has provided our family. Thank you all for being available to helping us in times of need.

Candice Summers

Absolutely horrible office. Doctors and staff are rude. Wait times can vary from 1-2 hours after your scheduled appt. In times of crisis they are insulting and more concerned with you leaving. Dr. Barash is a nightmare and hands down the rudest medical professional I've ever met.

Midwest Psychiatric P.A.

Travis Spencer

Our doctor has never, ever, been less than 30 minute behind schedule. Frankly, I'm fed up with the wait and will be looking for service elsewhere.

Meladie Dale

Not the most organized, friendly, or efficient office I've been to but it serves my needs. Wait times are horrible and there's hardly any room for seating or parking. Since the wait time is longer that the appointment I'd expect the waiting area to be more comfortable. They also have a lot of ridiculous fees for canceling, rescheduling, forms, and doctors notes.

Deborah Richir Rice

I have been a patient for over 15 years. Instead of just throwing RX at me and asking if I want to hurt myself, Dr. U actually takes time to talk with me and how I have been since last appointment. Never really had problem with having to wait but would if I had to.

Stephanie Roberts

I would not recommend going here. They tried to send me a bill from 2 yrs ago they said I owed them money. Why am I just now getting a bill? They had my correct address someone is not doing their job. Sounds like they are trying to scam people

Rebecca Richardson

Good pals

Uncle Nature

Went to try to get some sort of SSRI and naltrexone to try combat suicidal thoughts and was instead berated for being an alcoholic, told I can't handle any medication and was sent away. Wasted money to be attacked. Do not go here if wanting real help (And yes talking about Dr. Duncan. Terrible human)

John Winfrey

This organization is dis-functional. Lord help those coming to this clinic to seek help with dis-functionality. The worst part of the experience dealing with this organization is their inability to maintain appointments. I would go in, set an appointment, just to find that their "system" had a wrong entry. I received a text message confirming the appointment for one day, followed by a phone call the following day stating a different appointment! After one too many "human error" excuses, I cancelled all future appointment (if they knew when they were) and will not return to this location.

Jennifer Brown

Front desk staff is very friendly but the entire operation is a joke. Doctors will hand you scripts and fill Rxs without really getting to the root of the issue.... I feel like I have gotten worse lately... oh and don't ever expect to get an answer if you call... you'll be on hold for 30 minutes....

Sasha Covert

Don't expect to have your appointment on time. About 2 hours after your scheduled appointment .

Yitzchak Wrenn

Your results may vary. Their phone system is garbage. Wait times are excessively long. Unless you are there to see Carla Ingram, showing up early for an appointment is not advisable. For the most part, the staff at the front desk are quite friendly. I've had catastrophic experiences elsewhere, before and after being seen here. Here's the deal. This office has its foibles, and there are a couple individuals I cannot recommend in good faith, and I'd give them one star. There are, however, a golden few who are very much worth the wait. Even a drive. Those three get five stars. Brief aside - I live in Pittsburg, Kansas now. Pittsburg's "professionals" are practitioners because they are incapable of performing. I've been trying to avoid a three hundred mile trip and a whole day of my time for two prescriptions. I have been rewarded with far more stress than it is worth down here due to abysmal experiences in Crawford County. The the two places down here are guilty of every single transgression every other reviewer has mentioned and then some. A release of medical records spent eight days on a desk before they called me to see how to pronounce Asim Ulusarac because, and I quote, "It's a funny name. Is he even a doctor?" and whether or not he was a real person. Yes. Dr. Ulusarac is a real person and a real doctor, who regularly evidences real person things such as listening skills and empathy. He, Carla Ingram, and Dr. Mossinghoff got my through a particularly rough period of my life, and they have my eternal gratitude. I have rebuilt my confidence, and, over the past year, have weaned off of some nasty, heavy-duty stuff. Twenty-three pounds gone since December 1. I'm calmer, more level-headed, more present, and actually optimistic about life. If any of the three mentioned in this paragraph were those "uncaring people" that some had mentioned, then none of you have any reason to deal with the labyrinthine phone system or the wait times. But those three are the best people in this field I've had the good fortune of dealing with anywhere. The real shame is that, like anywhere else, the excellence of a select few is not reflected by everyone else. Seriously, folks? I just named three professionals at this office who are worth a three hundred mile round trip drive and the better part of my day. AND a wait. With the rest, your results may vary.

Hailey Knopf

Always helped me as much as possible. Doctors like to get to know their patients on a personal level which is very comforting. would recomend.

Maura Wery

Incredibly, incredibly rude office staff over the phone. Very insensitive to needs or even really listening to what you want or need. Dr. Barash leaves a lot to be desired. He accused me of not taking my medications for over a month when I received refills from the pharmacy. I assured him I had been on my medication and proceeded to repeat that he didn't understand how I had medications for over a month without seeing him. I schedule an appointment with a new psychiatrist at a different practice and ran out of my current medications. Called to get refilled while waiting to get in at the new place and was refused a refill. Said I could leave a "detailed message" for the nurse, but would probably be denied a refill. For a doctor who was so concerned about me being off my medications, seems weird they wouldn't refill them when I needed them. If they decide to refill my medications, I will update my review, but until them, steer clear. Way better places in KC for these sorts of services.

Liz Armstrong

Ok. I love the therapist here. BUT, just trying to change or make an appointment I was ON HOLD FOR OVER AN HOUR!!!!!!!! That is the most ridiculous hold time I've ever experienced.

Stephanie ables

I have been a patient here for 15 years! I adore my doctor. However, if you’re considering Patty McCoy, I would strongly advise against it. Her wait time is ridiculous because she is slow. This was confirmed for me by a staff member. They know it’s a huge problem. She also doesn’t like questions. For example, “how did you arrive at that diagnosis.” This was the question I asked. She got very defense and the visit went downhill from there. Then, when I inquired about the wait time and suggested she make her appt times longer to avoid the situation, she said, “if you don’t like it, go somewhere else.” How can anyone this emotional be an effective counselor? Also, I’ve seen the front desks revolving door over the last 15 years. Today’s visit was appalling! I asked if my doctor was in and was told he was not. I asked when he would be back and was told, “ when he gets back.” Not super helpful! Not productive! Also, you work with mentally ill patients, you should probably know the room a little better. It was truly shameful. Again, I adore my doctor, Dr. U is amazing!!! He’s helped me and been a wonderful doctor for 15 yrs and I will not go to another doctor, but today’s visit was horrible!!!

Kimberly Braden-Preston

This office is terrible. The office staff is not friendly at all, will not every return phone calls. I am an existing patient and have been trying to get an appointment for over a month, and every time I call they put me on terminal hold (today was for 21 minutes), then come back to tell me that their computer is down so they cannot schedule. (Couldn't have told me that 21 minutes ago???) Not only are they incompetent, but they are not at all empathetic, like a doctors office should be, and they are just down right rude. Stay away from here if at all possible!!!! This practice does not even deserve one star!!!! In all fairness, Dr. Asim Ulusarac is an amazing doctor and very professional, and he is the only reason I have tolerated the front office incompetence and rudeness for ten years, but if you call for over a month, leave messages, and get put on terminal hold to be told again that the computer system is down ( you will hear this A LOT), it's impossible to see the good doctor. My advise is to find a better practice and avoid the frustration.

Disappointed: I saw the Psych Nurse Practitioner twice. My first appointment she was 30 minutes late and my second she was 45 minutes late. Neither time did she address the late start to appointments. In my second appointment, I tried to bring up a subject sensitive to my diagnosis; she interrupted me and went on a personal rant for a couple minutes. I don't wish to pay for a service where my time is not respected nor are my thoughts about my mental health. When I brought up the lateness with the nurse practitioner and the office manager, they both responded with "its not our fault". I suggested that perhaps they could help set expectations with patients by letting them know if someone is running late or that they may need to schedule more time for the appointments due to the nature of the service. The office manager stated, "this is psychiatry". I ended the conversation there as I don't think this business respects their patients, their time, or their thoughts related to their treatment. If you choose to pay for services here, you may want to keep expectations that this will take longer than scheduled time, you will be expected to pay for that time, and your thoughts on the matter are not valid.

Barash is passionate and hears your voice!

I have been seeing Dr Young here for over 10yrs now. I love the way that he knows my past and current issues without having to look at my chart each time. I have never felt rushed here or had a long wait time. Dr Young and Carla (my therapist) are amazing I would recommend both of them. Really don't understand all these negative reviews but look at how long ago they were posted. I say

Stephanie Conyers

It's unbelievable how rude the phone staff are at this place. Every time I've called there has been a wait time of at least ten minutes. When you finally get a person on the line they are rude, quick to interrupt, and act like you are inconveniencing them by calling. No thanks.

Johnny Amado

Friendly Doc U!!!

Kathleen Collins

I hate this place so much for so many reasons

Christian Moore

I've had problems getting in, in a timely manner. Faster than most other offices though and the staff is generally good. I have been seeing Maureen for a long time and she is very competent and incredibly understanding. Only negative is bad secretary staff from time to time. Don't let that scare you off.

Rebecca Huber

Get ready to wait for hours and God forbid you have to cancel appointments last minute due to illness, as then you are placed on their waiting list. Cramped lobby with no room to move and staff that speak to you as though you are a problem. The kicker: the agency knows this information, yet are one of the only locations in the area. Suffer along!

Donna Miller

I'm somewhere between a 3 and 4 on this place. About five years ago, my son's school recommended he see a therapist but getting an appointment for an evaluation anywhere was nearly impossible. Every office I spoke with said it would be a four to six month wait. CPA got me right in and we've been seeing his Nurse Practitioner, Patti McCoy, since then. I think the world of her and she has always worked to get my son's meds right. On the other hand, appointments here are nothing short of nightmareish. I've never been in for a scheduled appointment where I didn't have to wait at least an hour past my time (here's a tip: you can usually get in faster if you use the walk-in clinic). Also, my son has been on the same meds, same dosage, for a long time and it's working for him, yet the clinic insists we come in every three months for a refill prescription, which takes about five minutes. I'm sure it's for insurance purposes, but very inconvenient when I'm assured of waiting at least an hour for an appointment, every three months.

Tommy Radcliffe

I had an appointment with Dr. Young's office. I didn't get a reminder except for 8 days before (not the standard 1 or 2 days) and I confirmed through their system (which has so many flaws, but not like they care to even check). On my appointment day I called ahead of time to let them know I'd arrived 15 minutes late, they were ok about it. Upon arrival, there was no one at the window and I signed in through their non-private iPad check-in that had smudgy fingerprints on it and it's in a place where everyone who's standing around you can see your information. Then I waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the window. She said she'd check with the doctor and I waited another 5 minutes. When she came back she said the doctor won't have time to see me and the office manager will call to reschedule. Why did they agree about me being 15 minutes late? Looking back I now know that was their way to get me out of the office. They never called back so I did and they said that because I was 15 minutes late, they can never reschedule me (because I committed the sin of being late, even though I called to let them know). I'm flabberghasted a psychiatrist's office would do this. First, it's bad business sense. More importantly, it's horrible for a variety of patients suffering from OCD, depression, anxiety, paranoia...just to name a few (I was going for ADHD). A slam in the face like this could just send someone into a worse condition than what there were going to get treated for! They were so aloof in delivering the news, using a matter-of-fact tone. The office staff was very pompous, the office manager is a nightmare with a horrible temper. This is all trickle down from the doctors' attitudes. Furthermore, their waiting room was cheap and sickly. Linoleum floors and a lot of cheap chairs that could not be filled unless someone brings a family clan. No soothing music, no arrangement for private spaces, no good magazines to read.

Just A Guy

The first time I ever tried to set up an appointment here, Chris the receptionist was so rude I didnt try again for 6 months out of anxiety that I would have to talk to her again. Getting in as a new patient is a nightmare. It takes months for there to be an opening in the schedule, but the worst part is they will often take your paperwork then do nothing. They will tell you that they are going to call you to let you know what's available, then never call, and because the initial wait is so long your never sure what the expected timeline is. I've never felt like they wanted me to be there, and I always felt like a bother. Not to mention they promote several zero tolerance policies when it comes to scheduling that can actually get you marked to never be allowed to reschedule if you miss an appointment. I had to get a family member that already went there to put in a word for me to get a second chance. The fact is, they handle psychiatric issues. Potentialy sensetive people with anxiety, depression, poor self image, past trauma, etc. These are the last people you should be treating like an inconvienience or irresponsible bother. It's just tragic.

Johnna Malek

I am writing a review specifically for Dr Duncan! She is a disgrace to this practice and her profession. I was at a very low point, needed help, someone to talk to and some professional advice. Although she is not my usual doctor, I would still expect her to come in to see me with compassion, courtesy, advice or something. She sat there asking what I wanted from her, acting put out, irritated, annoyed, this look on her face of pure disgust. Barely looking at me clicking away at her mouse, slumped over the desk, talking so condescending as I am crying in pain, needing help, advice, answers. Her body language told me why the hell are you here on a Friday, bothering me, when you’re complex, not my patient, I have much better things to do, hate my job, am tired of all you whiners and wanted to get out of the office early??!!! With the amount of pain and state of mind I was in, if I didn’t have people, family and the want to attempt again, I would have after this train wreck with her! She would have sent me over the edge and I would have been successful!! I was that low and needed that much help. She should be ashamed of herself and should look at another profession. She is too burnt out and too far gone. I actually met with her once before and she was just as hateful. This time though, I was teetering on that line and really needed someone. Please take my advice and steer clear of Dr Duncan!! I also agree with the other reviewers about long call-in hold times, very rude receptionist and whoever Chris is; receptionist/office manager, which I seem to get a lot. She is a grand dis-service to this practice!

Absolutely horrible. Waiting times go close to an hour over original appointment time. Most of the staff is rude. No privacy. I see Barash and I have a lot I could say about him, but I won't. Do not recommend. Awful.

Brandi C

I've never had problems with parking or excessive wait times in the two years I've been going to CPA. My opinions are that Dr Barash is best for surly teenagers and men who don't like b.s. He is harsh and most men and women I've talked to say he is not a good psych for women. I've only seen Dr Duncan once. She was kind, not personal, didn't care about what other meds I was taking if they did not relate to mental health. But, she did ask what I wanted out of the visit, what I wanted to see done with my meds, etc. It was the first time I was asked what I wanted. I think I've met with Dr Young once, and he was nice, but that's all I remember. Dr Ulasaric (U-la-sair-ick, or just Dr U) is very kind, compassionate, and wants to know how things are going. He wants to know about major events in your life, how you are handling things, etc. He is nice and not afraid to smile and joke a little. I personally love the office staff. They are kind, quick, and proficient at their jobs. I can't understand having complaints about them, but I guess everyone has a bad day.

Mike Silvio

Extremely poor client relation skills. Appointment time always at least 45 minutes behind. Re-scheduling or cancelling appointments very difficult due to lengthy hold times when trying to call in. They told my son that he was no longer able to see anyone in their office ever again because he missed 2 appointments over the duration of his treatment there.

sammi dee

I have been going to this office for a few years, i have experienced bad attitudes from the staff. Dr. Young and Dr. U are very nice and very helpful and this is the only reason i had continued to stay. Dr Barash is not compassionate at all and does not listen to me, as a patient. -- i dont recommend seeing him. I believe i may have found a new psychiatrist and will not be going to this office EVER again. When calling the office you cant reach anyone, you are on hold for five plus minutes. If you leave a voicemail, you are told you will be contacted back within twenty four hours- which is rare. You have to keep calling and waiting on hold to even talk to someone. Crystal behind the front desk is very rude, she is not personable and has no compassion. They make you feel rushed and you dont feel like anyone is actually listening to your problem and trying to help you. Maybe the staff is overwhelmed. Im not sure, but im always stressed out when i have to deal with this office.

Heather Fox

I have found myself getting rather frustrated with this place. First off the first doctor we had my son see for his ADHD never even spoke to him. We changed doctors whom we are very happy with. However, we were told at his last appointment to make a follow up for 3 months, but they only wrote my sons prescription for 2 months. I have called and never get a real person unless I wait on hold for what feels like an eternity. I have left several messages and even talked to the receptionist who was so very rude but no one has called me back and they haven't sent a refill into the pharmacy. The meds my son takes messes with heart rate and blood pressure and it is imperative that he not miss a dose and I can't get any one there to call me back. Thinking its time for a new doctor this is absolutely ridiculous!

Tee Adams

Dr. Barash also sees inpatients at Signature Psychiatric Hospital. The Dr is rude, condescending and judgemental. He doesn't see patients as patient's but instead sees them as minions beneath him and under his control. He doesn't talk to you, he talks at you. He threatens you with a 96 hour hold if you say anything negative about him or the facilities and power trips hard core. He may be one of the top in his field for medications but his bedside mannerisms make him the worst Dr that I have ever seen. While hospitalized under his care his nurses would tell patients to not make him mad as he takes his anger out on them and that they are afraid of him. They would tell us he is bipolar and will change his mind about things within a few hours, which he inevitably did with me after I asked for a lawyer. Several of the patients there as well as myself felt that he made our conditions worse and not better as he treats mental illness as a crime not a disease.

Laurel Dunn

Horrible horrible place. Everyone is incredibly rude, like I've never seen in a professional office before. If you have a problem or have been waiting 2 hours for your appointment (which will happen if you try to go to CPA) they blame it on you in a completely condescending way. All the while, they add the passive aggressive "maybe this practice isn't for you" at the end. You'd think a practice built to help people with anxiety, depression and any other number of mental illnesses would be a bit more calm and just generally decent to the people who come in seeking help. Instead they get angry when you voice a concern, treat you like an idiot, and when they are done asking you the same handful of questions some of them just storm out of the room. They refuse to fill prescriptions unless you stay on their schedule of seeing them every 4 weeks. I've even had them lose my prescription, then finally find it and give it to me and once i took it to the pharmacy to get filled they had spelt my name wrong so the pharmacy wouldn't fill it. So i had to schedule yet another appointment to get another prescription while being told it was all my fault. This turned into more of a rant then a review. But, that just goes to show how awful they are. And there is plenty more to say about CPA. I wish google would let me give them 0 stars because they don't even deserve the one star i had to give them to write this rant/ review. If you can find some place else for your needs do it no matter how far away.

Alison Benton

Terrible wait times. The receptionists are cool, but there's not an ounce of compassion or genuine attentiveness to be found in the actual doctors' offices. Dr. Young, in particular, always seems like he's majorly inconvenienced by the presence of a patient. Maybe he was having a bad day today, but the treatment I received was appalling. I've been a patient for about two years, but I won't be back.

Ruby Simmons

I never wait more than five minutes for Dr. Young or Shelby Markum, and the office staff are incredibly helpful & polite.

April Simon

Until this final issue, Dr. Young was a pleasant physician. Had somewhat of an issue with eye contact, but was always nice to talk to, listened to me and what I wanted for myself and my care. Nice guy over all. It’s disappointing I’ll have to find another Dr. because his staff is so rude. I was told by the manager that it is their office practice to control the amount of time on prescriptions given and it is not what matches the allowance of the physicians limitations with their medical license. If you have financial issues or family emergencies that will prevent you from making it to your appointment at ANY POINT, do NOT go to this office. Twice I’ve had emergencies and called and explained, asked for a week, a month, just anything of my daily maintenance medication for anxiety, and they’ve treated me like I was trying to get rxs without being seen just so I could have them. The medication is LEXAPRO ...soo I promise, if I didn’t need it for myself, I would have zero interest in it. This came about because I called over a week ago (2/8) explaining my situation for the second time, and asked them what my options were. The second they finally call me back, today (2/19) they got on the phone telling me how non compliant I was, and they don’t know how I got the meds, but I clearly don’t take them if I am just now asking for more, etc etc etc. so I tell them, I AM compliant and I do take it on time, sometimes I forget a day, but 1. That’s a side effect of the medication (forgetfulness) 2. I’m the one that knows how I take it and if they aren’t even going to ask me what I’ve been doing, then how do we even get anywhere? I wasn’t going to just let them tell me what I’ve been doing when it wasn’t true. So they ask for my pharmacy, they call to verify what’s been filled, when, and who sent the rx, and they call back and tell me nothing was filled for November, therefore I’m not compliant, and they are going to either have me taper off, or they will give me 30 days and close my case. So while I’m asking my questions, about why this is even going this way, they deflect and tell me that it doesn’t matter what they’ve done because of what is going to happen from here on out. I tell them I want to file a complaint on the nurse, she was just awful and should not work in a psychiatric office if she can’t even fake like she likes her job, she sounds like she doesn’t care and has a bad attitude over all. So I’m told, I won’t be doing that basically, so I say since you tell me Dr. Young is giving me prescriptions for too long, then the whole office clearly needs investigated, and she tells me, 6 months isn’t too long by law, it’s their office practice. So, I went to say that they mean to tell me, I’m being treated this way, and they are choosing to “not be able to help me” when by law, they can help me because of my situation and I’ve been a patient for years and on the same medication for years...? And that’s when the manager cuts me off and says that she’s not explaining anything else to me. I told them I will no longer be a patient to them after this rx. We get off the phone, I check Walgreens to see why it’s not showing I filled an rx in November and I see that there was a script of Lexapro filled on OCTOBER 29th 2018!!!!!!!!!!! CLEARLY THAT IS FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER.

I've been going to this office for years. I highly recommend them. They are great, and usually it's quick to get into. The front staff are always nice and polite. I use to see Dr. Mccord but he moved, so I now see Dr. U! He is a wonderful, intelligent doctor. He truly cares about his patients, and really gets to know you. I recommend him for sure!!

I was forced to switch psychiatrists because my psychiatrist that I had seen for YEARS moved out of the state. The psychiatrist I was switched to, Maureen Anderson, was awful. She didn’t listen to ANYTHING I had to say, she interrupted me plenty of times, she was insensitive to my issues, and she sat behind her computer typing for 3 minutes straight before speaking to me again. She had no suggestions to offer me regarding my weight gain due to one of my medications, and she basically told me to suck it up and deal with it. I had my grandmother come with me to one of our appointments just to show her how awful she was, and my grandmother sees the best in everyone so she didn’t believe me. Needless to say, we walked out of that appointment and my grandma agreed with me and said I should switch. I have since switched to Dr. Brian Barash, and I am extremely happy with him. He actually listens to and takes action on any problems that I need to be addressed! So 5 stars for Barash, 0 for Anderson.

So far everything has been good. When I get there for my appointment there is NO waiting at all. I think the longest I was in the waiting room was 2 minutes. I have been going here for quite a while. The staff is very nice as well. My doctor is great...

Dr Duncan is a disgrace to this profession. I am wondering how someone so new to the practice is already acting like she's burnt out. She didn't even attempt to help just went through the motions asking computer prompted questions and typing with as little eye contacts possible. What a huge disappointment when you really need help but end up feeling worse because you leave feel judged and less than and not heard. They don't even respond to voicemails. I ended up leaving 3 VM and I guess when they thought I wasn't going to give up someone called back with the ugliest attitude I have ever experienced. It made me want to cry. NEVER GOING BACK

I love my doctor! His nurse is hateful. I like two of the ladies at the front desk are nice but, there are two of them that I can't stand! THE PHONE SYSTEM IS AWEFUL!! You can be on hold forever, over five minutes I get mad and hang up. UGHHH! I've complained and it didn't make any difference. The seating makes me a nervous disaster. I try to wait outside until I'm called back to see the doctor.

Knowledgeable, trusts me to know my own illness and trusts me to do my own part, know me from other patients, professional.

Stacy Smith

Diagnosed with bipolar type 1. I finally found a good psychiatrist! Thanks, dr. Young, you saved my life.

Went to see nurse practitioner Anderson and it was the worst experience of my life. She never smiled or said hello just told me follow her to her office. She was annoyed the family section of the paperwork was incomplete. I thought about leaving right then but I thought maybe I was being over sensitive. I came in to discuss my ADHD situation and I basically got treated like a criminal. She didn't listen to me at all. When I questioned her about a few things, to try to get a better understanding, she accused me of arguing with her. Meanwhile I couldn't stop myself from crying because I was being treated so horribly. I feel like I got cheated out of an appointment with a real psychiatrist instead I got some nurse practitioners who had a bad attitude. On top of that she prescribe me some generic antidepressant when I specifically asked her for name brand because from past experience I know the name brand works better and I don't mind paying more for something that works.

Dr. Barash is the man. Just do what he says. Participate in your therapy, but don’t get mad when he decides to take a different route. Why go see a doctor if you already have all the answers? Suck up whatever perceived rudeness you experience and you’ll be rewarded for sticking with CPA.

Kevin Fuller

I think Dr. Barash and team are amazing. The staff are courteous and helpful and Dr. Barash is knowledgeable, personable and very quick to assist or recommend resources that will help in areas where I’m struggling. Highly recommended.

Tom Tortorich

Very rude receptionist. Very unhelpful and bad attitude. I won't be scheduling an appointment here.

This place doesn’t truly care about people. I brought my son here 7 years ago for ADHD and the woman he saw was consistently rude and disrespectful to him as a 10 year old kid. She was so rude that my son hated going to the appointments so we missed a total of 3 over the course of a year. We were dropped for “non compliance”. Fast forward 7 years and that same boy is now clinically depressed and suicidal. I reached out to this place for help and they said, “We will not allow your son to return as a patient because of non compliance”. SEVEN years ago!! Suicidal or not, they won’t help. And, when we did go there we always had to wait for over an hour. They were never on time. You can imagine how great that was with an overactive 10 year old. Again, they DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT GETTING PAID. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Mike Hammer

The psychiatrist we saw for my son's anxiety due to autism was extremely arrogant. But the office staff eclipsed his arrogance which is hard to imagine. After the front office person was extremely unprofessional and rude when I called with 48 hours notice to reschedule an appointment I told her not to bother as we would find another physician/ psychiatrist. Don't waste your time with this office. They don't care about you / your loved one.

My son and I are both seen here and have been for years. My experience with Dr. U has been outstanding. Not only has he been patient, he is intuitive and insightful with diagnosis. Medication is discussed openly and adjusted as needed. My son sees a nurse practitioner, and while very competent, she is always terribly rushed. I would not see the therapists here. I wish I could give 3 1/2 ⭐ simply because of the unbearable wait times. If you are late or miss an appointment you get charged. I wasn't seen today until an hour after my appointment time - 5 people arrived, were seen, and left before my name was called. Due to my own schedule I had no choice but to rush through my appointment as quickly as possible. I would prefer they schedule you further out and be more prompt than try to see as many people as possible.
