My son might have seizures while he sleeps, but we don’t know because we are receiving the worst possible care and highest lack of concern from the Mercy Pediactric Neurology Clinic. When going for our initial consultation, we waited about half an hour after checking in. We followed-up asking how much longer it would be and the receptionist stated that we were more than 15 minutes late and therefore makes as a “no show”. Once we pointed out that we checked-in 30 minutes earlier, they “allowed” us to be seen. The doctor/physicians assistant was not at all prepared. She hadn’t looked over the medical records a different hospital faxed over (luckily we had a copy with us!). Once handed our copy, she stumbled over questions that were clearly answered/stated in the report. I pointed this out to her and she responded “I don’t know how to read their report”... please understand- I do not work in the medical field, I work in construction, but I could EASILY read the report. Next we took our son for an EEG. At one point I watched the computer screen as it showed my sons brain waves go through multiple spike/wave patterns. Unaware of what that might mean, I googled it when we returned home to wait for the results of the EEG. About a week later, we hadn’t heard from anyone- so I called. The person who answered my call pacified me saying “the test was ok”. I don’t know what that means, because they still scheduled an MRI. The MRI was performed early this week (Tuesday). We were told that they would call us with the results possibly Thursday, for sure by the end of the day Friday. Having heard nothing, I called Mercy Pediactric Neurology today/Friday at 4:40. My call was answered with a recorded message saying the office is closed for the weekend (apparently they close at 2:00 of Fridays). That’s cool, I guess... your weekend plans should take presidents over my sons neurological well being or (if all is well) the emotional well being of my sons father and myself. You are terrible!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could!! Doctors could never answer my questions and never really tried to help me just kept upping my dosage. Also very rude considering I was a patient and just wanted some help from a specialist but CLEARLY THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT SPECIALISTS!!! Thanks for nothin'.

Dr. Kari Coleman is a breath of fresh air. My son had been seeing Dr. Thabet for few years, I always left the appointments with questions and almost more confused then I came. When we were informed he left I was nervous on trying another person. The front desk staff is always friendly and informative, they seemed very supportive and we decided to try her. It's not like we had anything to loose. To my surprise is was great. For the first time I felt the doctor listen and answered our questions. She took time to talk to us and our son. I need to remember the front desk receptionist because she makes me smile every time we come in. I never feel like patient #5436728-2

I would also give less stars if I could. We were referred here from our pediatrician. When I called to set up the initial consult, I let them know we needed testing, only to find out at the initial consult that they don't do that. To add to it, after I paid $200 for the initial consult, they didn't get through the entire thing the first day, so scheduled us to come back to finish it. When we came back the 2nd day, they then wanted an additional $150 to finish what they didn't get done the first time. They argued with me when I explained it was just finishing the initial consult I had already paid for. Needless to say, we left, told them to cancel the whole thing, and are back to square one. This place is nothing but a bait and switch! Don't waste your time or money with them!

Dr. Coleman was rude to my 14 year old daughter on our first visit. My daughter suffers from migraines but also has trouble explaining them. She was just impatient with her. My daughter felt very uncomfortable with her. She was just rude and short with her. My daughter did not like her. Today we went for an MRI. We were 13 minutes late and no one was in the waiting room and the receptionist went to ask Dr. Coleman if we could still be seen and she refused to see my daughter. So she missed high school classes to drive all the way there and not see her? Yes, I understand we were late, but we were only 3 minutes over their policy, and again the waiting room was empty. I would give 0 stars and I see why the waiting room was empty!

Dr Farouk was very knowledgeable as well as so kind to me and my daughters. He was very thorough, and quite nice to both my daughter who had the appointment and my other daughter that I had to bring with me. He even helped me to understand a procedure/diagnosis done by another doctor that had not been explained well to me by the other office. He definitely went above and beyond a neurological check up, to help me understand many other aspects of my daughter's diagnosis. I left very reassured and feeling I understood all that had been checked and tested (some doctors need to work on that part, making sure their patients understand a diagnosis and/or test lol).

They last two of my sons appointments were cancelled because he was classified as a new patient, since his old Dr. left. He suffers from depression and anxiety and has to take meds. We went to his last appointment Wednesday and at the counter they told me we would have to comeback. I asked if I could switch him to our family doctor that said that was up to me, so I signed the paperwork and asked about getting refills on his pills he had 4 left. Friday I called to get his pills filled and they stated he was no longer a patient there and they wouldn’t fill it. This medicine is not one that you should stop taking cold turkey. I’m worried about my sons mental state now until I can get a hold of our family doctor. I was referred there by his therapist and I will let her know how they treat patients. Mental health is not something to mess with especially with children. Shame on them!!!!
