No. No. No. for one they treated me for suicidal tendencies rather than panic disorder. While being there they did nothing when I was about to have a panic attack besides check my vitals and send me to my room. I am way worse after leaving there than I was before. They kept me 6 days because on day 5 my heart rate was too high. I’ve already been back to a different ER because of withdrawal symptoms! I had to be given the meds that they ripped from my system to help with the withdrawals as they didn’t do it right, at least for a diabetic. I’m feel horrible and I never want to go back there!

The only reason this gets one star is because of the food. I was in the Youth Behavioral Health Unit when I was 17 years old and it was one of the worst experiences in my life. First of all, the nurses were rude and they treated us like we were five. I understand that they are there to make sure we don't hurt ourselves or others, but I was often yelled at for getting up to go to the water fountain even though I was never out of sight whenever I got up. Also, half the time, all we did was color. By the end of my six days there, I never wanted to see a coloring book again. They also forces us to leave the unit once a day to go either to the gym or a porch. We usually sat there and did nothing, which is what we did when we were inside. I would never wish this horrible experience on anyone. If you are going to house a bunch of youth who are struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, you could at least hire nurses with a bit of empathy. Also, it's quite a statement when you can drive a group of strangers with barely anything in common together by making them dislike you.

I will NEVER go back here. They constantly mess up my appt. time so when I take off work/school to be here and I show up to the rude desk lady telling me I don't have an appointment is so frustrating. I have now been here 3 times IN A ROW where my appt. suddenly got moved without telling me or letting me know ahead of time. I would not recommend anyone in this facility and I suggest if you want help, go ANYWHERE else because won't get it here.

John Crume

Absolutely worthless, we had a family member interview there. The therapist was absolutely obnoxious. He played messanger boy for the doctor. I'm sorry, we are spending $$$, the damn doctor can get off his/her ass and communicate with us. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They are supposed to help people, if anything, they cause mental breakdowns.

Gotgamefoya

I honestly loved this place. I was there 4 times. Now I know what you're saying "Well if you kept going back then they weren't good" which isnt true at all. They were so kind and caring and each time there it took me at least 3 months in between suicide attempts. I felt that people there cared about me more than the family i was with. Food was absolutely delicious. 98% of staff were amazing. The groups were great. I met people who helped me understand I wasn't alone. This would be one of the best places to be while you're in a crisis

Tara Hathaway

The wait for help is absolutely ridiculous. People have been sitting here for 7-12 hours in the waiting area with no explanation from the staff. How is this possible?? I'm in utter shock! I would not recommend if you're looking for actual help, guidance and support.

Samantha Apollo

Feels like a jail, disgusting, horrible treatment staff. Don't go there if you're in crisis for sure. They will turn you away for even basic care.

Angela Novak-Bell

It took me 3 visits because I wouldn't put forth the effort.on the 3rd visit i was successful. I learned a little bit each time. Now i am 9 months sober and feel better than i did 20 years ago! I committed suicide and ended up at this facility and they saved my life! You have to want to get better and ask for help. You are in charge of your life, dont be afraid to ask for help. It's the best investment i have ever made! Everyone there was helpful and nice. Joe was really awesome at guiding me to the right path. Thanks for saving me!

You would expect a child coming to this place would be helped, but while I was in inpatient, one of the wannabe therapist said that the kids that they weren't there to help. But instead they said it's a place just to keep us from offing ourselves. Being forced there for help, and the only thing me and the other kids would talk about is throwing a chair through the window and jumping from the second story. And I ordered a "fresh orange," and they came out with a moldy, obviously over-ripe orange. If that doesn't sum up how aweful the staff and the place is, I don't know what will. But please don't send your kids there to suffer even more. They won't get help. I was one of those kids.

I was one of the patients in a crisis who stayed in the hospital for five days. My experience was not so good. You had to wear certain socks, they put food on my tray that I didn’t even order, staff monitors you, treat you like you’re a psychopath, and forced you to be in the dayroom all day. There was one worker who told all of the patients to write down specific things such as “15 coping skills and 15 situations you could use them in”, and you had to describe what you wrote down, even though what you wrote down is obvious. There was one person in there with me who got treated like she was crazy and wanted to go home really bad. Doctors put you on like five medications for stuff like depression and anxiety. The windows upstairs are tinted to make you think it’s dark outside, but what they say is it’s for privacy, which isn’t true. The food absolutely terrible. After eating breakfast, I felt incredibly sick and didn’t eat for the rest of the day unless we had snacks. Staff considered me still being depressed for not eating and didn’t believe that I didn’t like the food. You gain weight from the food as well. Overall, I wouldn’t go here again if I felt horrible. Once you get out, you have to take meds for the rest of your life, living miserably.

Worst place ever . my daughter ran away and was arrested for minor consumption and run away. We tried to get her the help she needed but she didn't like it and talking bad about us. Next thing we know we have the hospital report us to Cps for neglect.I have no criminal history and raised my older2 with success. Watch out for these people. My child was placed with a relative until legal proceedings.

Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to go before even calling. I have been trying to get in for a month and have been unable to get in even when I called at the time that was recommended to call. I have been sent to voicemail the majority of the time. The customer service has no empathy. For being a place that is supposed to help with mental health, they have only caused more stress. 10/10 do not recommend.

I have been in 3 East and 3 North and have had problems with only a handful of staff. This place saved me from an opiate addiction and most recently a mental condition. I donated clothes because I felt the need to give back. You have to be proactive and want to get better. Being inpatient sucks at times but again you have to be proactive to change that. Another thing is, know what meds you're taking, what they do, and express to your doctor what needs adjusted. Also, it's good to know how an immediate detention works, once you do, realize that's just the way the system works and that's at every crisis center. The place saved me twice and I thank the majority of the great staff for that.

Came in to speak to a therapist and get a safety plan together because I had a breakdown at work. Told them I have school that I cannot miss because it puts me at risk of being dropped. Waited 4 hours with no therapist. When I asked to leave because I was voluntary they denied me and said I either sign myself into the hospital or they keep me. I had no choice but to sign myself in. This was my second time at 3 east and was miserable. My doctor would hardly ever be there and no one could EVER get a hold of him. I said I didn't want meds because they make me feel worse and give me an idea of suicide, but was still given meds. Barely any groups happened, I think I can name 3 in the 4 days I was there. Finally got to talk to my doctor and asked him when I would get out because no one would give me a straight answer. All I received was a smile and a "Thank you, we're done." I repeatedly asked and said "I need to know when I'm getting out, I've missed too much school and I can not miss more because THAT is my safety plan." Again was met with a "We're done, you can go." First time I ever officially broke down to the point they moved me to the lower unit. Finally I was able to leave after my case worker was able to convince my doctor.

This place was told short term detox and then go to an inpatient rehab facility at another location. Instead they convince the person to do their 'better success' outpatient program, even after being told the patient would not have a place to live to do outpatient, and very much against the spouse, family, and job's wishes. They convince the still on detox drugs patient that everyone else is wrong and not being supportive after less than 3 days in their facility. They do not care about a person's total well being and only care about selling their services.

If you don’t mind being shut in a tiny room while some mysterious “doctor” tries to commit you, even if you’ve said you can’t afford it, then sure it’s a great place. Personally though, I will NOT be returning under any circumstance.

They saved my sisters life when Eskenazi did nothing for her! Thank you

My husband was taken here by the police after threatening suicide. He was held for 5 days because of his constantly changing stories, suicide threats, and alcohol withdrawal symptoms. He hates inpatient programs, but also understands why they exist and that nothing else would work for him (didn't work for him... he's been in every outpatient and partial hospitalization program in Marion county). The doctors were very good at explaining things to me and to him. They also got him set up with a plan for continued help once he got out. My only complaint is that they only referred him to their affiliates. While they are great doctors/programs, they didn't have the availability to see him immediately upon release. So there was a short lapse in treatment. Once resolved, he got some great doctors and counseling programs and was sober for 5 months. He did relapse, but that's because he stopped working the program. I'm currently working on getting him back into Community North. It saved his life. He just needs to decide that his life is worth continuing.

If you want your rights and privacy violated go here. There are peep holes on all doors including the bathrooms (which sadly are unisex) going the wrong way so any random person can creep on you at any point in time. I hope people take the time to read this and don't have to go through the horror of being violated at this place.

I’m doing an internship at this location and I found it to be most rewarding.

I am using my old account for reasons..., Im 16 now and I was 15 when I went there Im better now and even got my life together. This place did not help me at all. The staff treated you like subhuman they made you eat and I gained so much weight there and am still working on losing it to this day, I was on and off so many antidepressants it was insane. When I got out I felt worse until I got taken to therapy place and they gave me the right medication. Im doing amazing now. It had nothing to do with this hellish place

Amanda York

I had some staff that were just amazing and the empathy really helped. However, I just got out 2 days ago and the doctors there still can't be bothered to send in a prior auth form for my Cymbalta, which really isn't something you want to start and stop like this. Veena in 3E is awesome and I just want to clone her, heh.

Friendly staff and quick to respond in a crisis. I'm glad these people are here.

Was in the detox unit for alcohol. It was disgraceful how they treat their patients. The showers had red and black mold growing in the tiles all down the walls and floor. I had to put a towel down just to shower due to them not providing sandals for showering. One of the shower heads points directly into the wall. My sheets in the bed had some sort of stains in them from I don't want to know what. The nurses are crass and uncaring for the patients as well. We told the staff over the course of my stay the refrigerator wasn't working and they didn't believe nor check if it did. After the 5th day of us begging for them to check it so we didn't have to drink room temperature milk. A very kind staff member named Megan finally put in a maintenance order after FINALLY just checking the fridge. Multiple patients were lied to multiple times on their detention time and discharge dates. Spoiled milked was served one day on our trays. The unit that i stayed in had about 10 people with only 4 chairs for the T.V. area and a half deck of playing cards. Most of us slept all day due to them skipping therapeutic groups and rec time. Very mean and disconnected staff with few exceptions. I feel I need to shower from just being there a short stay of 5 days.

Only one lady is any good up there. She saved me from the hell floor. Bottom floor. I didn't belong there and they knew it so the unmentioned lady came and saved me. If your put in for 72 hour. Be prepared to be told you sign yourself in or we take you to court which could take 7 day. So 72 turns into 5, 6 12, 18 days. Valle Vista would of been first choice. So find away to V.V and stay the HELL away from North. Js. But it's on you. Oh groups are a joke. And no one on one councilor on deck so get over being able to talk wjat brought you there. And be prepared to take a heaping handful or shots to make you messed up. Not a good gig. Good luck in your journey. Xo

I was here when I was 16-17. I am now 24. I was there for over 16 days and each time I was there I was treated so badly by doctor Maria valena and her staff. They made me carry a pillow case to get rid of my issues... I wasn't allowed phone calls, to go outside, nurses treated me like crap, I sat also in a wooden library type chair facing a wall for those days for more than 10 hours a day. To this day I remember how they treated the little kids and the other kids. They misdiagnosed me after me constantly telling them it was wrong, I got Rediagnosed and I was right. No one would listen or help and on top of it the only reason I had hope or made it out of there was a janitor older lady. She gave me hope. If anyone knows how to find out who worked there during my time and also to get documents I would like to speak with you. DO NEVER take your children here.

Alissa Hewitt

There in 2004. They treat you mostly like you're sub human. They need to fire most of their staff and start ove.

Got a call via referral from new PCP. Was told for one ot takes 6 visits with therapist till anything will be done as well as they have the right to involuntary hospitalized you for a long extent. Per new insurance rules for certain health problems and with help of government they are treating people like psychopaths, drug seekers, etc. I will take my business to a private soecialist.

Just had a relative committed by this unit via teleconference at community south. they call seals ambulance to transport thee committed individual in front of me (the POA that commited her). she left comm south @10:15 pm. she arrived at comm north 11p was put into a room for an 1.5 hrs with no explanation, was then threatened by a security guard for being unruly while sobbing for help. With little to no more interaction was released by linda with no signature. they are now pretending that she came and left voluntarily. that simply isn't true I advised the nursing supervisor Claudia of this. long story short she was released without her wallet, or any id, and with a dead cell phone. we found her though no thanks to these.... well i'll let you insert the rest. either way you're safer at home.

Henry Carter

I was treated like I was nothing. I have been mentally ill for years. I was offered a prescription so I could go home and take them and go ahead and die. Nice folks.

This facility gives crisis a new meaning. The jail like setting, the delay upon delay upon delay is ridiculous. 5 hours to be seen - that's a lot of time for someone in crisis to calm down. Doesn't mean they don't need help, they are just too exhausted by the wait. St Vincent's Stress Center is far superior and treats those in crisis quickly, effectively and respectfully. The 'process' at Comm N, as stated by the non-empathetic staff at reception is in dire of need of a total re-haul. Will never refer anyone to this facility.

I was feeling very depressed. Although i had to wait 2 hours, they took me in with care and helped with no problem. The place is really clean, and i love it. The only problem i had was with a staff member named Hansel. I was on the boys side. I was only 13. The food was good, the people and kids were nice, and the therapy dogs (I had Keona) was amazing. Love it.
