I have been seeing Dr. Halweg for a while now and I cannot begin to explain the life altering transformation I’ve experienced. When I first came to see him, I was a mess. I have lifelong issues with depression and anxiety and had recently been suffering days where I could not get out of bed to do anything. I would sleep for days without eating or drinking. While this was obviously affecting me but this was having major affects on my husband and children. Working with Dr. Halweg regularly to adjust not only my state of mind, but my medication has eliminated these horrible days of endless sleep. I haven’t had an episode for months and am so blessed to have found a doctor who listens to my issues and has helped me to develop into the person I am today. I know I will always be more prone to depression and anxiety than most, but I feel confident that I will never go back those darker days. For this, I cannot thank Dr. Halweg enough! I always look forward to seeing Dr. Halweg, his wife Aja and their sweet labradoodle!!

I was hesitant to see a psychiatrist because I've always believed natural remedies were best in pretty much all situations. When my anxiety got so bad that natural remedies didn't offer much help anymore, I decided to find a psychiatrist. I read some positive reviews for Dr. Halweg and decided to give psychiatry a try, as the anxiety had become debilitating, and so I was desperate for help. After calling Dr. Halweg and leaving a message, within 30 minutes or so he called back. He was very empathetic on the phone, and right away I knew this was going to be a good fit for me. Anyways, my initial session was an hour long, and I broke down crying when he asked me about my anxiety. I had been holding in a lot of emotions for a long time, and I never had anyone I felt that comfortable with to be vulnerable. To make a long story short, I left the office and went to my pharmacy as he had called me in a medicine for the anxiety. Within minutes of taking the medicine I felt much better, and within a few days I also noticed that my rosacea redness on my face was completely gone. I've struggled with low self-esteem for over 10 years due to rosacea, and I've tried dozens of remedies and skin care products. I was overjoyed that I finally had a white face like you're supposed to have. I looked into it, and it turns out I had a type of neurogenic rosacea that is very hard to treat, but with the right medicine, it goes away completely. So it turns out that all of those years of avoiding psychiatry were years that I could've been free from anxiety and an embarrassing red face had I gone in to get treatment sooner. I wanted to write this review because I believe more people could benefit from psychiatry if they had the right psychiatrist. I've heard some horror stories which is one of the reasons I stayed away so long. My one regret is that I didn't seek help for mental health issues sooner. I'm so thankful that I was blessed with the perfect psychiatrist that is empathetic, really cares about his patients, and seems to intuitively know the perfect treatment protocol that gets great results, fast. If you're looking for a psychiatrist that can help you improve the quality of your life who also cares about you and treats you with warmth and positive regard, then look no further. Dr. Halweg is the man for the job. P.S.- Another reason I decided to choose Dr. Halweg is that I read in someone's review that his wife was also empathetic. She's the first person you come into contact with at the office that checks you in and has you fill out a couple of quick forms. She's an absolute delight. Warm as can be and makes you feel really comfortable. 5-Stars all around and you won't find anyone more caring and capable than these two.

I've been seeing Dr. Halweg for a few months now and he is such a brilliant and helpful doctor. He's changed aspects of my life for the better in just the short amount of time that I've seen him.
