This place is a joke. I have really good health insurance that only cost $25 to see a specialist. They told me unless I pay $300 deposit I couldn't make an appointment. Never mind I will go somewhere that just takes the co-pay. Staff was really rude about it and they don't note this anywhere on their web site. Also took almost a week before they even called me back.

Unfortunately I really needed help but they wanted me to put down a 300 dollar deposit that they would pay my visits out of. I have health insurance and I don’t understand the need for this policy. They said it was because people were not keeping their consult appointments. Then I asked them if once I went to my original appointment if they could refund the remainder of the money back and we could pay as we went and they refused to work with me.

I really like Dr. Cohen. He seems a little strange, but who knows what is going on in his head. But he knows his stuff and when he explains how he comes to his conclusion, you think Damn... that was good. Very observant. We had problems with return calls from their staff. No wonder they ask you to only leave one message. I want to tell them if they return calls, people wouldn't feel they needed to leave multiple messages. My son had just gotten out of the hospital so we had to find a guy fast to renew the meds and keep him out. He was highly recommended. When we mention to him about the staff, he really tore them up. He does care. I didn't like the $300 policy. they say they don't take checks, but they do when they know you. I am assuming they got burned pretty bad. Hopefully they will lighten up.

Weird place - Dr. Cohen seems good but then again he uses his office staff in a good cop / bad cop scenario. I have to laugh at all the rules posted on the door before you walk in. And when you call in with a question about meds you get a return call in 2 days suggesting you go to the ER. Just have to laugh.

I have been his patient since a car accident in 1999. I had seen other psychiatrists, but none compare to Dr. Cohen. My son eventually needed therapy, too. Dr. Cohen was the second therapist we used due to insurance reasons. The difference was magical. My son listened to Dr. Cohen, and he respected him. If you are looking for a doctor who cares, listens, empathizes, then he is your man. If you want a quick, in and out doctor, then forget it, he is very thorough. Expect to wait for your appointment, he is not a timer on a clock! Some take longer, some less. Depends on the patients.So, if you are reading this and are his patient, remember he has a schedule for the rest of us, please.
