First off at night when you are sleeping you at night you hear people screaming and crying all night long and the first night I did not sleep at all. All night I think the staff opend my door to check on me twice the whole night. (The way all hospitals work is they have to check on you every 15min and write it down) there theripy consists of sitting all day and watching tv. Unless you want PTSD don't go to this hospital

According to the website Springbrook assists families with communication. This was NOT my recent experience there when a family member was admitted. I received one call from a staff member there while I was unavailable at work and, despite repeated attempts to reach this person, I never received another call. When I visited my family member she said she would never forgive me for this and no staff member intervened to state the obvious fact that her primary physician had her committed, not I. Ironically, I used to work as a Crisis Counselor in such a facility and I personally counseled many clients and their families, so I do have a basis of comparison to bely my statement that this facility does NOT make any real effort to assist communication between family members.

I'm sure it's not easy to work with psychiatric patience but from my experience with a loved one who went there, this place is a joke. No real care for the patient -- (I don't mean human caring, although there was very little of that either) but no real care for his psychiatric condition. They drugged him hard so he was good and dopey and dropped him off home - and without any refills on prescriptions. Never mind what happens to him on the outside seeing that he's nowhere near well. Not a drop of care took place - not that I saw anyway.

What a ship wreck this dump is! The staff is so full of themselves! They all think they're gifts from God! One nurse, let's call her Heather (because that's her name) would have been better suited to ditch digging and Jen is holier than thou, unintelligent, and hard hearted. She also missed her ditch digging calling. Do not go to this $hithole and do not send your loved ones there!!

I have always wanted to work for this hospital( for about 5 years or so) until now. I had a phone interview with Tom in HR today, what seemed to be going very well, until he shot me down and wasn't nice about it. On my resume and application I had down I worked for 4 places in a 15 year span. 1 one left because it was totally disorganized and I could never understand my job duties as they kept changing, the other I left due to pregnancy health issues, the other one I left because I was falling asleep behind the wheel driving home due to it being far away and the last I left because I found a better paying job. I only mentioned the to him about me leaving 2 jobs which the one that was disorganized and the other due to pregnancy issues. He denied me a job said that I "bounced around too much" let me remind you this is in 15 years only 4 jobs, and he said I left these jobs because they were disorganized, and I only said that about 1 job. I am on my way to nursing school in 2 months and want to work in Mental Health and will finish my criminal justice degree after, I really thought this place was going to be amazing to work for and I would gain my experience that I need to go great. The way I was spoken to he made me feel like scum, like I just up and leave jobs , and I can handle feedback, but saying those things, which I don't even think he really understood what I was saying really, I wouldn't want to work for them now. I am very upset over this, because I thought so highly of this place and I know I would of been a great employee for them.

Horrible. I can't believe a place like this actually exists. I ended up in there by transport by mistake and could r get out for a couple of hours. I needed medical assistance and they offered me nothing but a closed door in my face. There were 10 people in an area meant to accommodate 3. There was no stafff to help the patients. Patients weee helping patients or they would get no care at all. There was a guy yelling who clenched his fists and yelled at the staff, he was mad about the same things I've spoken above. I told one of the staff that I didn't feel safe. He said there are cameras all over you are safe. I said how is a camera going to protect me?!?!? My family after 5 calls was able to get me transported to Bayfront Hernando. And thank god. They took such good care of me. Please, someone read this and do something. The staff was locked in their offices ea eating , swearing, joking and would not administer care. Someone is going to get hurt or killed there. Please!

This place should be burnt to the ground. If you want to feel like a caged animal this is the place for you. Zero therapy, zero help. The only "group therapy" we did was for addicts. Literally the wall paper is peeling off in the day room and the tv was older than I was. They also allowed another patient to run around screaming racial slurs at other patients. PS: Just to add to the lack of over sight, when I bounced from depressive to manic due to the EIGHT medications they put me on mixed with the after effect of being given a large dose of Ativan a few hours after my klonopin over dose I was able to sleep with a fellow patient without even having to sneak around. No one cares.

Julie Miller

It was terrible the nurses and techs don't care about you they barely talk to you . I was assualted by a Tech named Tierra. She choked me with both hands I would never recommend this place for anyone . This place needs to be shut down under new management and new employees.

Keith Burgandy

I was brought to spring Brooke and immediately sent to Brooksville hospital against my wishes spent three days sick and in pain the fourth day headache got better went back to sping brook were a man tried to attack me but the staff came and made him sit he consequently choked a female staff member he was still able to walk around and choke several people .. it was cold enough that my hands ached and I slepted completely clothed and daytime I kept a blanket around me. the facility was filthy my bedding was badly stained this place was quite nightmarish to me and I will not go back willingly

SOME of the staff mean well and have good hearts. Overall a big fat load of horse s***. Homelessness is better.

This is the most substandard place you could ever work at or put your loved one in. . They are fraudulent in their practices. Never have enough staff for the patients, all about administrative and corporate well being. How much money they can scam off paying patients. Can't accommodate patients needs instead of really helping patients mental stability it increases it. The noise level is not conducive to mentally and emotionally compromised patients. Nurses rarely get to have lunch, they don't care if your staff wanders off. There is nepotism No actual time tracking of staff but they make up times for staff. Breaks anyway, it's a farce. Baker acts are a joke, accept dementia patients from nursing homes that don't need to be there.

This hospital is the worst mental health care provider that I have ever experienced. The doctors will not talk to family members and the staff won't let you talk to a doctor. If you have insurance, you'll be in for an extended stay whether you need it or not. I've been jerked around for 3 days and still haven't talked to a doctor about my family member. Whatever you do, don't go here. Request to be taken anywhere but here.

Tor Armstrong

Went on a job interview today and everything went great. Guy name Mark interviewed me, everything went great. He calls me to setup a second interview and I inquired about the drug test. He quote unquote said, the interview is cancelled because YOU do drugs. I was lost for words, but tried to explain to him that I don't want to have to wait to drop and the part he didn't get to hear, because he was so rude that I have medicine that's prescribed by a doctor that I would have to bring with me to document. He also thinks its okay to talk about past employees to new recruits. Different story if you're using it as an example, but not to talk about people. Admitting to letting the patients fraternize when it's against the rules. All this out his mouth. Glad he declined my services, because I don't want to be involved with no one or company like this. Very unprofessional, inconsiderate, and thoughtless. By being disabled, I could probably cause him a lot of problems. I'll just go my way and hopefully, the company will do something about his communication skills.

Former Inmate -Jordyn Cahill 154363

Page 2 - Jordyn Upchurch review It was at this point that everything went terribly wrong. I was NOT to be held in the hospital. They took me to the ER then transferred me to Springbrook Mental Health Hospital where I was immediately treated like garbage. Upon my reception, I was told to “walk”. I explained that I could not. That I needed an assistive devise. I was told by intake staff to quit “faking it” and that this was NOT a medical facility and my medical issues were NOT president to be being there. I begged for a wheelchair from 7:45am when I arrived. I begged for ANY of my medication as my body was in agony. I was told once I was admitted to the resident hall, I would see a physician. I was taking in agony, in a mobile chair with wheels that the nurse pushed me in front of the nurse’s station. My bag, which was carried by the technician, was handed to another technician across the counter. I was told to “stand up and get my bag and go to my room at the end of the hall.” I explained again that I could NOT WALK! The African American tech behind the counter, along with ALL OTHER SPRINGBROOK STAFF stood there and MOCKED ME AS I BEGGED FOR HELP. I was LAUGHED AT. Told I was ‘FAKING IT’. TOLD I WAS NOT IN ANY WAY DISABLED. I PLEADED WITH SOMEONE TO CALL MY FAMILY TO BRING MY WHEELCHAIR AND WAS TOLD NO OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I WAS IN AGONY IN FRONT OF STAFF THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HELP PEOPLE AND I WAS TREATED LIKE AN ABSOLUTE DREDGE OF THE EARTH. It was at this time I was told that if I wanted to eat, I had to walk to get food. I would not be brought any medication or beverage that I could not walk to get myself. Other patients attempted to intervene on my behalf and they were reprimanded and demanded to not assist. Needing to get off my swollen spine, I bent over and pushed myself in agony down to my room. I was in tears and suffering with each step I pushed the heavy chair. I finally made it to a bed and laid down. I was shaking in bed when a technician came and took the mobile chair stating, “you don’t need this and won’t be getting it back.” I laid in the bed crying. I covered my face with a blanket and attempted to rest my body. It was at this time that I felt a hand at the top right thigh/lower buttock. I removed the sheet from my eyes and a senior citizen male patient was in my room leaning over me, as he held onto my bottom and began mumbling incoherently thrusting his crotch towards my face. I screamed for help and no one came!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was able to push him away and continued to scream for assistance. I managed to pull myself from the bed, onto my bottom, and used my hands to pull myself into the bathroom. It was at this point that a nurse, the same one who mocked me in the nurse’s station, came into my room. I was crawling on the floor to the bathroom when she came in. As I struggled, she pushed the door open, said, “well, looks like you are doing this on your own,” and left me on the floor!!!!!!!!!!!! After this, I pulled myself onto the floor again, sat on the hospital gown I was given at ORMC, and began to pull myself with the gown with my hands on the ground as I used my left (strong) leg TO PUSH MYSELF FROM THE END OF THE HALLWAY ALL THE WAY TO THE NURSES STATION AS THE ENTIRE MEDICAL STAFF WATHCED ME. I SCREAMED AND PLEADED FOR HELP BECAUSE I WAS IN SUCH AGONY. Upon getting to the open room, there was a trashcan on a mobile 5-wheel base. I pushed the trashcan off, pulled myself onto the base, and used that to push myself into the room adjacent to the nurse’s station, being YELLED AT TO GET OFF THE TRASHCAN BASE! My bones are hurting so greatly right now after this, I am practically catatonic with pain. I made a pallet on the floor and was told I could not lay down there. I begged for help again and was again denied. At no time did ANY STAFF ATTEMPT TO HELP ME. Not once.

I was admitted on a baker actcon Thursday evening. Yes, I did spend a little bit of time in admissions but I was very well taken care of. From he moment I was finally admitted to the time I was discharged I was taken care of better then I ever thought I would have been. My psychiatrist was amazing, the nursing staff was amazing and every tech I came in contact with were some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Any of my required needs were always taken care of, they looked out for me the entire time I was there and I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff that I encountered are the reason I was able to walk out of there when I did. Now don't get me wrong I don't want to have to wind up going back but this amazing group of medical professionals are the reason I am home and continuing the treatment I need. So thank you to everyone for being as supportive as you were. You will all hold a dear place in my heart.

This hospital has an excellent doctor team that worked with me every day I was there. The rest of the experience was horrific. Dining staff was terrible. Medical tech staff were for the most part disorganized and arrogant. LPN's dispensing medications had no clear or established procedures which caused frustration with patients. Nurses working the evening shifts seemed less interested in patient care and more concerned about the vacation schedule. It was so unbearingly cold inside, you could not sleep and no one asked could control the temperature. Or, showed any interest in doing so. Try Tampa, Orlando or the North Pole before placing yourself in this hospital. I just wish the Dr staff had a private practice.

MrTonyfla

DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY!!!! I cannot possibly stress this enough. This facility only helps ITSELF to insurance benefits, and their INMATE will be returned in worse shape than going in. This place SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!

Guy lathrop

Thought asylums like this were closed in the 1800's. Saw a new admission get his skull cracked by a repeating violent patient..took victim away kept the offender...one of the gals room smothered with feces and wasnt cleaned for 2 days. 1 of my roomates was a sexual deviant that had to masturbate 20 times a day...would get naked and run down the halls.I'd wake with his dick 2 feet from me while he would dance. Temperature was kept so low for germs abd stink that I never did get warm except going out on cig break..I dont smoke..have to say staff was as could be expected. Thisplace is a true real life cookoos nest..

Holly Ryan

Horrifyingly unsafe practices happening. Dangerous for both staff and patients, as there's never a safe amount of staff to manage patients, especially those in crisis. If you or your loved one needs true help, take them over the county line.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this so called Hospital. It is dirty, the staff is rude, and they gave medication to my son that almost killed him. They had to rush him out out there to a regular hospital where he was placed in ICU. I suggest they get Dr's that know what they are doing. They also took my sons belongings and just happened to give him wrong items back. Will be filing Police Report if his belongings aren't given back.WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

This place is HELL! Springbrook needs to be raided and shut down. I was one of few sober people in the unit. They lost my clothes leaving me without clothes for 32 hours, and I had no soap in the shower in bathroom for over 24 hours. The showers, bathrooms, and rooms are not cleaned or inspected daily. Most of the staff are rude and disrespectful and scream at you. They sit behind the desk on their phones texting, facebooking, and even FACETIMING. They don’t understand mental illness and are not properly trained. I filled out a disclosure for visitation and the 2 people who were forbidden to be allowed in WERE LET IN and were in the cafeteria during visitation. When my emergency contact came and called, she wasn’t ID’d and didn’t have to say who she was on the phone, all calls were sent back to CCU. Some of the staff are people I’ve grown up with, whom don’t belong working there with people who are suffering mental illness and addiction... I wanted to go outside for fresh air and they wouldn’t let me because I don’t smoke. Oh right, because THEY GIVE CIGARETTES to the patients! A patient tried getting smokes from a staff member at the counter and the employee said loud and clear, “WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY, I can’t give you cigarettes I COULD LOSE MY JOB!” Well JR, honey you do deserve to lose your job because you’re not helping these people to get better! When they take you to the cafeteria you have a limited amount of time to eat and if you don’t finish they throw your food away leaving you to starve because they don’t give you any other food throughout the day- if you miss snack, oh well... umm that’s ABUSE Incase you’re unaware... I refused my medication because it made me sick and the doctor almost wouldn’t release me because I know my body and I don’t need medication to cope with my mental illness. When it was my last night in the unit they told me I was going to the annex because they had so many people in admissions and needed the beds. I was getting discharged the next day so they put me in the annex surrounded by patience who were strung out and suffering far worse then myself... In the end I got rest and food and now I’m getting help outside the building. As for this place, never go there if you have the power to say NO. Know your rights and research... stand up for yourself and make calls to the right people.

The Drs.Case Mgrs,Nurses,CNA's,Therapists,Recreational dept,& all staff were absolutely wonderful & helpful to me. At times I was somewhat difficult but they helped me feel better. I'm SO HAPPY I was put there to be evaluated. The HOSPITAL also has an outpatient program to learn coping skills.(PHP) If u need to learn better ways to cope that's the place to go. It's voluntary & the director is a very nice man.I actually ate ALOT of snacks but lost 7 lbs. Helping my self esteem get a little higher. My husband who did not know where i was taken was called 3 days later. I was out of it,very sick but they got the info & phoned him instantly. He recommends this hospital as well. The beds are sorta uncomfortable but that's just a small speck in the milk. I think if your having difficulties go there. They are very caring. I have been n a LOT of psychiatric places but this admission out rates ALL. Donna A.

This is the most disgusting, bug infested, mold filled, disrespectful and unsanitary fraud. The entire place is a scam to take in money from peoples insurance company. My bed was ant infested and when I told a nurse her response was "yeah the rooms all have problems". My shower door didnt close so the entire unit could see me shower and it took me complaining to 4 people before anyone cared to look. They are some of the rudest people I've ever met. We were not people to them. All the techs did was sit on their phone and ignore patients. I didnt even see a doctor until I'd been there for 36 hours. Springbrook is a hell hole and I hope to god it is shut down.

Lisa L. Howard

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! If you value your live, your sanity, and/or your family member's sanity DO. NOT. GO. HERE!!!!! Trinity Hospital is, ironically, a step up from this place... But it's a non-smoking facily. They do have an excellent therapy program. But only, AND I MEAN ONLY, if you have Borderline Personality Disorder. The BEST place to go, no matter how long the drive (And, SOMETIMES they will come and pick you up!!!), is Wyndmoore in Clearwater, Florida. Not only do they have EXCELLENT DOCTOR'S (Especially Dr. Butler!), and great therapy groups, but their food is EXCELLENT and you can have as much as you want (Unlike Springbrook)... AND you can smoke!!! You get 6-8 smoke breaks a day!!!! And, sometimes, depending on the tech and/OR charge nurse, you can get a "secret midnight smoke break!!!" Plus, they have a pool, weekly karaoke/pizza parties, and an EXCELLENT Arts and Crafts program.... Why ANYONE WOULD WILLINGLY GO TO SPRINGBROOK, is beyond my comprehension. Even if your Baker Acted, you can still request WHERE YOU WANTTO GO!!!!! IT'S YOUR RIGHT!!! Again, please, please, PLEASE .... If you have ANY control over your life ------ DO NOT GO HERE!!!! The last time I was here, I nearly died from an overdose from opiods... THAT THEY GAVE ME!!!!!!! DO!!!! NOT!!!!!!!! GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE RISKING YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!

Worst place ever, rude staff, and none of them have a clue what's going on! Insurance scam!

This hole is the bowels beneath all reproach . They should be closed permanently immediately. I have no idea how this hell hole is still in operation . Is it true that the owner was convicted of medicare fraud. These poor patients are treated like dirt . I went to visit someone there. Worse than one flew over the cookoos nest. I thought these places were shut down in the late 1800' s. Very Sneaky hell hole

If you were depressed or suicidal before you be while here. Horrible HORRIBLE place! Treated as in Aushwitz while doing anything. Nursing low grade only working in this facility because they are not qualified to work anywhere else! Reverse racism allowed and racist techs and nurses were giving a “paybacks “ because you are Caucasian! Technicians only working as a once stop shop and so unprofessional! Your safety is comprised! Sat staring at walls due to nothing or no one to help or anything to read! Nada nothing! The place is dirty and the roof is falling in while waiting in the line for medication rain dripping on me. If you try to complain to a supervisor you might as well be ready to talk to the wall while being insulted back at while trying to save your dignity! I would rather be in jail and I did work as a RN at a country jail! This establishment should be closed by the state or other wise they are getting “kick backs!” Sat in “intake” with no medications for 2 days and your 72 hour hold does not count ! If you have a family member here please seek help to an attorney for them as to get them out for safety reasons! Doctor spiteful and does not show any professionalism nor compassion! Medical doctor has no idea of what he is doing! I was so happy to see the sun as the doors opened for me as to escape a prison full of lives that don’t matter but as of a person that “brings in money!” I am glad to be alive again due to I faced and won mental health brutality!

I went here back in February of 2016 and was admitted into the Eclipse Unit. I was not a legal resident of Florida just yet and had come out here from Chicago and was homeless and highly addicted to drugs. The hospital I went to in Kissimmee didnt want to help me, until I threatened to go back out and OD and if I made it then sue them for medical neglect because I wanted the help to get off the drugs. So I was sent to Springbrook. I almost have 3 years off drugs because of this place. The staff were supportive and treated me with dignity and respect they even threw me a birthday party cause I was graduating from the program on my birthday. Ive seen the reviews of this place and how its being negatively talked about. However that wasnt my experience. This place literally played a pivotal role in my recovery and helped me to accept my past and to learn to love myself. I miss the staff in the Eclipse Unit and it was one of best places I went to for drug treatment. Thank you for helping me save my life.

Jamie Escandon

I was visiting a friend at this facility and these two Spanish women they were kitchen worker's speaking Spanish talking about the patient's plus my friend who is there getting help putting them down saying mean things about everyone. Little did they knew I understand the language very well. These two should be terminated. Horrible people who think they speak another language that the persons around won't know what there saying.

Kristin Eddie Garrett

My mother was sent to this facility from BayCare after a Baker Act. What a cluster F from the get go. Held her for more than 72hours with no Dr care and no information given to her medical POAs until we threatened them with a lawyer. At 7 pm last night was told she is not stable and they would have a hearing to see about keeping her longer to this morning at 8 a call from th NP saying she would be realeased today no hearing. What changed?? My family getting a lawyer involved and requesting all her medical records and the names of ever medical worker that even talked to her. Talk about a crappy mental health facility CYA ing. I feel so bad for all the people going thru mental health issues that have to go thru these doors with no family fighting for them. So sad

raydrick davis

this place should is not fit for humans! after visiting for an hour i cannot even find one positive thing about it. this place is very dirty and looks as if it hasnt been cleaned in years. not only does the building itself look dirty the staff doesnt look so clean themselves. not only is the staff dirty looking they are very mean and rude. this place is a hell hole and cannot believe it is affilated with morton plant mease.

First off, I want to say that there are some great nurses and techs at this facility. I feel most of them deserve a great deal of respect for the abuse and outbursts that they have to endure on a daily basis from some of the patients. During the time that I was there, I gave the staff what I felt was mutual respect and treated them how I wanted to be treated and I actually got a lot of respect in return. Upon my release, I had staff saying goodbye and good luck to me in what seemed to be a genuine manner. Although, I must state not all of the nurses and techs treated patients with respect and one tech in particular was kind of nasty acting to the patients, a young African American lady whose name I have forgotten. I do feel that I need to change gears now and talk about the facility itself. I didn’t consider it clean and it is kind of run down. It is actually a very depressing place, and I think that is a shame since it is intended as a place to heal people with depression and other related illnesses. As far as treatment goes, this facility leaves a lot to be desired. There really isn’t much in the way of therapy that goes on there. You will meet with your psychiatrist and your case manager, but counseling is a no go for the most part. Furthermore, there isn’t as much therapeutic activity as I hoped for. If you get anxious, emotional, or overwhelmed while you are there, you are kind of on your own most of the time. Overall, I feel that this facility could use some improvement, although to be fair, it is the only mental health facility I have ever been in. I would expect more counseling and therapeutic activity to help the patient overcome what trouble they are having.

Devin Scribe

The staff is amazing. They are genuine, caring, understanding, and helpful to the best of their ability. The food is pretty good, considering it's a hospital. The beds could be more comfortable, but it's not a hotel. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this facility.

Eric Bristor

They are really just drug peddlers, their primary focus is keeping people in their "care", and keeping them highly medicated. Little action for actual behavioral improvements.

Laurent Price

Place is dirty wear hospital gown all-day, no therapy no health care products no shoes no shower. It's not safe your better off staying addicted at least you will be alive. Food horrible, no programs, no therapy, afraid of the staff, it's bs all about the money 2,000 a day plus and they charge your insurance and you get abused and never ever feel safe. Stay away Anyone who says this is a good place definitely needs help, this is a horrible place and scary Dirty nasty people who could care less if you live or die.. NOBODY GIVES A HOOT IF YOU ARE SICK, WOMAN walking back and forth looking crazy, WERE TRYING TO PICK THE LOCKS, ALL I KNOW IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AND I WAS NOT CARED FOR, treated like a animal with no respect, sitting in wheel chair no where else to sit, in hospital gown no panties no bra no socks no shoes no blankets . I was cold, ashamed in having no panties on and my hair was like a was in a fight. ( WILD) PLUS WHEN MY FAMILY BROUGHT CLOTHES IN FOR ME, THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THEM TO ME UNTIL THEY WERE CHECKED AND THAT TOOK HOURS, WHEN I WENT TO GET Them, THEY HANDED ME A LARGE BROWN BAG WITH ALL MY INFORMATION ON IT , GUESS WHAT....THE BAG WAS EMPTY and after calling everyday talking on every floor to everyone. They lost them just like they leave you in their facility LOST that has NO Medical Facility this place cannot help you. ( If you get sick inside this NUT HOUSE or HURT, you will be sent by ambulance to their little hospital, another money maker for them, so ur in a dangerous area, there is no protection from crime, just a camera that doesn't work. This is a money making scam. STAY AWAY. I will stop this abuse if it's the last thing I do!!! STAY AWAY!! PLEASE. Also in admissions they left me alone and I fell out of the chair had to be taken by ambulance to hospital where I had a severe head injury . Plus in my records on one page said I was allergic to a certain medicine on the next page it's shows the dosage they gave me. In a span of less than 12 hours I was taken to 2 hospitals.

Kimberly Flores

The worst hospital I have ever walked in to I wouldn’t take my worst enemy there!, terrible workers VERY rude from the start. They won’t let you speak to or see the patient, I have been here for days just sitting and waiting. Never Been to a hospital with this such bad service. I would suggest firing ever single staff and rehiring new ones but that wouldn’t help so I suggest taking a bulldozer and knocking it all down and let this place Rest In Peace.

Brad Monday

I was baker acted spent a few days in this great hospital. Bc of the great staff im finally feeling more myself than i have in a long time. These are truely great people that care. They will always have a spot in my heart

What a dump. The do not do any kind of therapy RE: how to avoid relapsing, getting a sponsor or have a support system in place for you before you leave. Most people do not have insurance that are here and are frequent flyers at the State & Fed Govt EXPENSE. They keep you 10 days, it's like being at a Country Club for the poor. They ALLOW FEMALE PATIENTS INTO THE MALE PATIENTS QUARTERS on a regular basis. They send you home with some Rx's in hand no follow up. It is a GREAT PLACE if you are fleeing persecution from the LAW, so you can miss your court date tie up the court system and then JUST BEFORE you have to go back to court you wind up @ their door step yet again either Baker Acted or as as self admits to avoid legal prosecution. SPRINGBROOK'S PRACTICES allow criminals to roam free with 3 hots and a cot and no worries. They are only in the "business" for the money and cost tax payers a lot of money with their revolving door polocies and practices. So basically they are harboring criminals who have figured out the system and collecting money posing as a "REHAB" Center. Wouldn't send a dead person there never mind someone who really needs help.

My problem is with the doctors. Was baker acted and sent here for doing nothing at all. I pissed in there drug test just because I wanted to be released. What happened was I Tried talking to my mother, and she didn’t want to hear a word I had to say so she just called the cops on me. I don’t know how they have authority to just lock me up , for ten days, whenever they deem necessary. I was never even told I have schizophrenia and why they think I have it until a week ago by my doctor I have to see now because they put me on medicine. Was not released till the tenth day like always. Was told nothing by my doctor, didn’t fill out any forms, didn’t have a diagnosis of what they think was wrong, nothing. Very unprofessional. Same goes for the sorry police department here in citrus county. Get a life, don’t try and oppress mine.

This place is absolutely wonderful and the staff and doctors are amazing! I dont know what everyone was saying about it being dirty as when I was there for 2 weeks everything was always clean. I just wish they had more exercise as I gained 20 pounds while there because of the snacks and food but lack of exercise. They are almost always on time with giving out meds and there is a therapist available to talk up until about 7pm and they had group therapy several times a week. I would highly recommend this place if you need help.

I have a lot of compassion for the blokes who work here. It's a tough calling to take on, and I don't think I could handle it. I came to Hernando from Miami for personal reasons, because someone close to me sought treatment at Springbrook. To the folks who par this gaff, they need to know it's not a country club, or a vacation spot; you're not here on holiday you know! My mate got the help he needed.

Clean, good therapy staff, good overall staff. The purpose of a stay here is not vacation, it is wellness, It exceeds care of other psych hospitals in FL.

pG 1 After being released from the hospital July 5, then going to my dr’s to discuss my MRI’s, I came home exhausted and STILL IN ABSOLUTE AGONY. I then made a Facebook live video where I pleaded with anyone I may know to please help me obtain the funds to get my testing so that I can get treatment. I made the statement that out of sheer helplessness and feeling no one in the medical community cared to help, I felt desperate enough to CONSIDER SUICIDE, because I cannot live in my current condition. I simply wanted those that love me enough to understand the severity of what my life has been reduced to because of my bones. After posting the video begging for help the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the home where I was staying after someone made a call saying I was suicidal. I had previously made a post on FB asking all friends and family to please help me get emergency MRI’s that I needed since I no longer have health insurance. During the video, I made a statement that I have sought ALL medical and legal avenues with NO SUCCESS and I am living in physical agony each day and I DO NOT WANT TO DIE BUT I AM IN AGONY. I cannot afford any treatments or any of my household responsibilities because I am currently bedridden. I have been unable to walk on my own since June 28, 2018. I AM NOT SUICIDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I AM IN PHYSICAL AGONY AND SIMPLY NEED APPROPRIATE HEALTH. I currently have: 1. Degenerative scoliosis and an S curve spine 2. Dislocated Sacroiliac Joint (Spinal joint) that protrudes from my back on the right side 3. Osteoarthritis 4. Beginnings of osteoporosis 5. Several ruptured discs at the base of my back 6. Bi-Later hip dysplasia 7. My spine and pelvis have tilted an inch out of synch 8. Fibromyalgia 9. Severe never damage occurring throughout my body Due to these orthopedic issues, my entire life has changed. Within the past year, I have declined so rapidly, and I am unable to care for myself BY myself. I need help dressing, bathing, and walking. Which are all tasks assisted me by my children and my spouse. When I explained all of this to MCSO, they advised me they were taking me under Florida’s Baker Act for 72-hour observation. I expressed to them over and over that I needed MEDICAL ATTENTION. I asked the Sgt if I could PLEASE BE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND GIVEN MEDICAL TREATMENT. He conferred with other officers and came back in to tell me I WOULD BE SPENDING 72 HOURS UNDER A DOCTORS CARE AT ATHE HOSPITAL. I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE ANY PERSONAL EFFECTS, INCLUDING MY WALKER, CANE, OR WHEELCHAIR AS I WAS TOLD “You will be in a hospital bed and will not need the items” I was then taken by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center again and was once again greeted in the ER by condescending staff TREATING ME LIKE A DRUG ADDICT. It was not until Dr. Ahmed, came over, HELD MY HAND, and TOOK NOTES AS I EXPLAINED TO HIM ALL OF MY ORTHOPEDIC ISSUES. FINALLY, someone cared!!!!!!!!!!!!! He spoke to the attending physician and FINALLY AUTHORIZED ME TO HAVE MY COCCYX AND LUMBAR MRI’s completed. I was given a shot of Toradol and given a sedative as they administered the two MRI’s. SEE REVIEW TO FOLLOW.

I was held hostage here for two entire days before I got to see a doctor to release me from a malicious phone call made by the citrus county health department. I was not given any food or water, was lied to by the nurses for over a whole day telling me the doctor was on his way to see me, and I had an employee tell me straight to my face "I don't care about YOU, I'm just here to collect a paycheck." This place needs to be shut down, like yesterday!!

Summer Gold

Worst place ever. Dirty...no communication with family. First night infestation of bed bugs. Some one needs to close this place down. I would not trust anything they did. Upon discharge of my daughter I will be taking her to her doctor. Refusing any meds that they gave her until I check with her doctor . Do not take your love ones here. I have never seen such a establishment for patients with mental health issues.

Howard David Sterling

We have found the staff helpful and courteous, especially Jennifer, the supervisor, Gd bless her.

pamela seymour

This hospital my son was taken too. And he has been going to another for years but this is the first place that actually has his meds adjusted right.. Such a blessing and the staff and the drs etc all treated him and me with respect. I would highly recommend this facility. No issues at all.

Ruthie Hoover

Never again . This is by far the worst place to take anyone who needs help . No communication with family. No bedside manners. Very dirty. I could go on and on. Just trust me. Someone needs to shut it down....

Kathy Dunaway

My son is there at Spring Brook Hospital and has been since Monday, January 4th. I finally received a call/voicemail from his case manager around 1pm today but she has not called me back regarding his status as of yet.

judy olson

PLEASE if you care anything about your loved one DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL!I was a patient here for 2 weeks and this is not a rehab it is a HELLHOLE!!The staff or most of them don't do their jobs and openly admit they are here for the paycheck not the poor people that are either Baker acted or who go on their own free will.I had to get out of there because i was worse then when I went in.so hear my WARNING don't go or send someone you care about send only those who you wish harm to come to them and they will be harmed by their experience at this shithole.

Marissa Evans

theyll hold you hostage if you dont have health insurance and are unable to pay $500 a day up front. very poor service to patients.

Katie Jones

Jordyn Upchurch 'I told them I needed help and they either stared or physically mocked me. "I can't walk!" This one African American nurse with red and black in her hair laughed and said "if you don't get to your food, you don't eat. If you can't get to water, then you don't drink." '
