Didn’t show, couldn’t contact, place was desolate, assumed we weren’t coming when we were 15 minutes early and the building looked like no one has been there in years. Nothing good for people who need help. Stay away.

Was a patient for over two years and put up with the not showing up or last minute rescheduling. Contacted her by text three weeks followed by a 'running out of meds' email and no response as of yet. I am appalled and disappointed that a medical doctor is so inconsiderate and unprofessional. I found another psych doc but not before running out of meds during a stressful time when I really needed them. Her office in St. Pete is next door to a seedy hotel and panhandlers and I do not feel safe going there, especially at night. She has no problem compromising her and her patients' safety to safe money. Yuk.

Doctor is great when doctor is available or reliable. Most recently doctor is neither. Doctor's voice mailS (plural) are full all the time. She accepts appointments in places that she has "offices" then cancels them saying "ethical" things like more patients booked appointments today in x city so I am not going to keep this appointment in your city. Doctor has multiple appointments per day in multiple cities that are hours away from each other making it impossible for her to be there. 3 Offices in Orlando (2 of which don't exist), 2 in Tampa, 1 in Sarasota, 1 in Apollo Beach. It seems to me like she plays the numbers game. She potentially puts herself as available at many offices across Florida. For instance tomorrow she has an 8PM in Orlando and I'm going to schedule it like I have before and counting on her to say she's not in Orlando on this day. She fails to refill medication per her promises, and then is nowhere to be found weeks later in the wreckage.

Dr. Hakala is the most caring, understanding, and compassionate doctor I’ve ever had. If your looking for someone who will really identify and treat your illness... And for active patients always make herself available based on your needs, you’d be lucky to have her. I see myself being her patient for a very long time.

Dr. Hakala is a very compassionate woman but lacks follow up and focus. You have her attention usually only when you are paying for an office visit and are sitting in front of her. She has a staff but I have yet to figure out what they do as Dr. Hakala answers her own phone and books her own appointments. There is no way to leave a message with a staff person. Often the messages are full and there is no way to get ahold of her. She ignores calls, texts and emails. I finally had to move on as she was non responsive to my many attempts to communicate with her.

Dr. Hakala is a warm, compassionate and caring physician. She made feel at ease. It was like talking to an old friend from college. She truly cares about her patients and the treatment plans she designs for them. I would highly recommend Dr Sheryl for anyone that may be going through a difficult time in their life. She is the best!

After reading reviews here, I see I'm not the only one getting terrible service. The lady is absolutely worthless; terrible communications and impossible to get her to reply when you need something. Avoid this quack.

This lady is an absolute quack. I was referred to her by a VA employee from James Haley since I was having issues getting seen. Went to her for the help. She had next to zero communications before seeing her, and have tried reaching back after being seen and she simply will not reply. If you're paying her $700+ rates, you MAY get a reply. Avoid unless you have more money than brains.

Emily

Sheryl Hakala is definitely a quack. She is not reliable at all. She tries to put you on meds like an experiment and if they don’t work, she perscribes whatever medicine she thinks is best until your symptoms decrease instead of actually taking time to figure out what is needed..On top of that, if you don’t go back, she tries to rope you back In just so she can get more money. I went to her for two months and it was one of the worst medical decisions I have made for myself. Currently, she is refusing to give me my medical records! I have reached out to her several times over the course of 4 months requesting my medical records. She has yet to give them to me. I am currently in the process of filing a HIPPA complaint. I am not sure why her reviews on zocdoc are so good because these google reviews are the sad reality of what it’s like to be a patient in her “practice.”

Christopher Wright

Excellent service, 8 years I've experienced compassionate, dedicated, committed, tell it as it is (not as u like it), consistent & realistic assessment & treatment She's very good (the more honest u r, the better). Tough, fair, & empathic. Life saver.
