I’ve been seeing Theapist’s almost half my life, when I moved back to Florida I found out that my previous doctor had passed away so I started searching for a new doctor. I read a lot when it comes down to doing research on things. When I came across Dr. Rasul I was kinda nervous because I had to travel almost 40 minutes both ways just to see him. The first time I met with Dr. Rasul I knew he would be my forever doctor. Going into his office building, you never know what to expect. Melissa his receptionist is AMAZING! When I have to bring all 3 of my kids (when they have no school days) Melissa treats them like her own. She lets them sometimes watch movies from their computer, allows them to sit in the other office room and color while I go in and speak to Dr. Rasul. Their waiting room is large enough with enough chairs so you don’t feel like you’re crammed breathing on people. They have their own little mini fridge that allows you to grab something when you’re thirsty, when it’s stocked with soda my kids seemed to be extremely thirsty for some reason ( I don’t buy soda for the house). When I go in to see Dr. Rasul he actually listens to you (even if you talk or vent for 30-45 minutes and his other clients are waiting to be seen) he will listen to you and help you and doesn’t just pretend to listen and just writes you a script so you can be on your way. It might be a far drive and cost me money for tolls but I highly recommend Dr. Rasul.

Very happy with my first visit! The office environment was very calm and peaceful. My appointment started a little later than scheduled but the receptionist was apologetic about it and let me know that the doctor was on an emergency call, which is understandable. I have no complaints with Dr.Rasul or his front desk associate. I’ve only been twice and each time I never waited more than 5 minutes to begin my appointment. The front desk receptionist is very detailed when explaining your benefits and expected payments per visit! Serene Behavioral Health isn’t like those busy, large doctors offices where you’re just a file; I’m greeted by name every time I’m there. They are also flexible, so if there’s an emergency or prior engagement it’s not a hassle to cancel and reschedule. They’re willing to see me whenever it’s most convenient for me which is rare when it comes to doctors offices!

Dr. Rasul is an incredible mental health care professional. My husband is in the 80+ years category and there are very special needs in the population. The last year or so, he’s needed behavioral health care and this can be a jarring experience for someone who has gone through their whole life without this type of care and then all of a sudden needs this in their 80’s! Dr. Rasul is amazing with my husband. He has established a level of comfort that has made this experience pleasurable for my husband. Dr. Rasul is compassionate and really understands the need of the geriatric population. I imagine that he’s great with all ages but I can definitely speak to the care he has provided my husband. Because of Dr. Rasul my husband is thriving. We have found a regimen that works for him and he no longer feels overwhelmed by seeking mental health care or treatment. Dr. Rasul has been a lifesaver. When I became pregnant, my primary care doctor refused to see me, and I needed a consult about the medications I was on. Dr. Rasul made himself available to see me within just a couple of weeks even though I was a new patient, and was able to work with and adjust my medications throughout my pregnancy. Since then, I have had nothing but positive interactions and experiences with both Dr. Rasul and Melissa. They are always friendly, attentive, and accommodating; there is hardly ever a wait (and when there is, it's usually only about 15 minutes at most); all-in-all, I am grateful to have found Dr. Rasul's office and intend to stay with them for a long time.

Let me preface this review. Dr. Rasul is a great psychiatrist for many reasons. One of the biggest issues with finding a psychiatrist in the south is that plenty of them try to prescribe sunshine and rainbows as opposed to anything that might help. After searching for a while, I found Dr. Rasul and he had good reviews so I decided an hour drive would be worth it for actual help, and after a few months I'm so happy I came to him. He's not the type to throw every drug under the sun at you, but also doesn't try to under-prescribe either. He knows what he's doing, how things interact and works with you to find a solution. Also, I don't know her name, but the attendant handling appointments/billing/operations is super nice and welcoming.

Nothing worse than this office. This assistant is really rude and unprofessional. She keeps you on hold forever without your permission. The doctor is not bad just double-check of the correct dosage and pharmacy or he will describe the wrong medication for you.

My boyfriend had his first appointment, it lasted about 15 min. If all you want is for some one to write a prescription and leave then you’re in the right place, otherwise avoid this place. He reviews your current situation and feelings then presents a treatment program to fit your needs. He explains why you’re brain is behaving as it is and why/how his decided treatment would be beneficial. I now feel GREAT and my sanity is restored. The doctor is nice, but that’s about it. I need morning appointments because of work and without fail, the Dr. is NEVER in on time. Every minute I’m there is a minute not getting paid at work so it drives me crazy having to wait 30 minutes for him to show up just to spend a whole five minutes of him asking how I feel (“fine”) and then making small talk. I would make an appointment after 10am to make sure the doctor is in. Update: In response to the reply my review got—absurd. It’s absurd to have to ask a doctor to show up on time to an appointment. That’s just basic courtesy and professional respect. Abandoning a psychiatric patient in need because you don’t like their review is also absurd and very petty! I have luckily found somewhere nearer to work, but I had to amend my review from the original two stars down to one because of the reply to my review from the Dr! Implying it’s ME being disrespectful for giving a genuine and fair review rather than a doctor just coming in to work on time is insane! If you take issue with this... just go to work on time or stop taking appointments so early!

I found Dr Rasul online. Making an appointment was incredibly easy. Melissa answers emails quickly and she’s so helpful and patient with all of my questions. She checks me in right when I walk in and is quick with making appointments and handling payment. This place is perfect for people who might have anxiety in situations where they have to see a doctor or call in, because emailing is an effective way to communicate with Melissa and there’s only one other person in the office. Dr Rasul listened to me cry and talk for about an hour during my first appointment. He let me flip through pages upon pages of things I had written that I wanted to address, and listened to all of it without interrupting. He was super understanding and honestly I felt like he could read my mind. He asked me if the medications he was going to prescribe were okay, and whenever I come in he asks if everything is alright with my medications or if I need any changes or adjustments. He also cares to know that I’m making progress in my day to day life too. I’ve had psychiatrists tell me to push through my problems with medications, and ignore me when I spoke up about an issue, Dr Rasul is nothing like that. He’s the best psychiatrist I’ve ever been to and I’m very glad I found him. His help is worth the travel and cost.

Serene behavioral Health is beyond words, they are by far the best psychiatric medical office I’ve ever been to. I’ve been taking both my grandma and my uncle there, whom need medical attention, for almost a year now, and so far I can’t complain about a single thing.
