We have had to go to different psychiatrists and we were extremity happy to find Dr. Ashamalla. We found him very knowledgeable and caring as well. He took the time needed to fully understand the problems we have and his office was very helpful with follow up as well.

Dr. Ashamalla is a good listener and has the knowledge to deliver quality care. For example, he lays down the options/risks and recommends the best option for long term health and why one's body would agree. Part of the staff is Joyce. She is also wonderful and always manages to keep me updated when I can't be reached.

Treated me like I was some dopehead looking for pills when all I want to do is control my adhd... made me get and ekg and then after I made 3 different trips to his office each time for new information he asked for .... each trip being about 20 mins from home and an hour from work I gave up.... he would not even come out and speak to me would just tell the receptionist what he wanted me to do something they could have done over the phone.... horrible doctor and would not recommend him to be working in a dog let alone a human... did not care about anything I said only cared about a paycheck.....

This office visit by far had to be one of the most insulating experiences I have ever encountered. The front receptionist Joyce lacked a sensitivey chip, and professionalism. And as far as the Doctor, he never even came out to meet and greet me. Would NEVER recommended this doctor to anyone.

I was referred to Dr. Ashamalla. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I would be called back. After 2 weeks of waiting, I called to find out my status. I was told that my case had been rejected due to the medicines my current Dr. prescribed. I have been trying to change and get off of these medications but Dr. Ashamalla nor his staff communicated with me at all to find out anything about me. I have been in the mental health care system for 25 years and this is by far the most unprofessional doctor I have come across. Doctors are here to help us, not reject us without any notification or without speaking to a potential patient. There are many great doctors in the area, avoid Dr. Ashamalla.

If I could have given him less than one star I would have. Saw him today for about 20 min. He kept interrupting me everytime I tried to say anything. I have several lifethreatening rare diseases but he was not the leadt bit interested in why that would make me depressed and anxious. I have been sick for 54 yrs hospitalized for my illnesses around 1000 times. I have had very good compassionate Drs and very bad ones. He was by far the worst!!!!!!!! I would not advise anyone to see him! He in those 20 minutes disagreed with 5 other Psychiatrists and neurologists about every diagnosis I have had for the past 20 years. Very arrogant and had no compassion. Nor did he seem to realize that not all of his questions could be answered in 2 words!!

This man was perfectly nice and seemed knowledgeable until I developed epilepsy, along with the depression and anxiety I was originally seeing him for. Once I did and went to both my neurologist and GP and they suggested a change in my medication regime, he refused to treat me further. This man is not someone I would ever recommend to anyone who has any medical issues aside from psychiatric needs. His hubris simply does not allow for agreeing with other physicians.
